Reviews for Bed&Breakfast Tirano
Review 1:I would say nothing! But remember to get the cash ready when check out -- I forgot it's cash-only and had to borrow some cash from my friend.
Review 2:Very close to the station. Fantastic view from the top balcony room -- we love it so much!! Everything in the room is well docorated; all the pretty wooden furnitures almost made it our dream room! The restaurant downstairs is very very good (although basically there's no bad food in Italy) and not expensive, and the servants there can speak fluent English. Breakfast is served in the same restaurant, which is very nice as well. A superb stay -- I feel like visiting Tirano again for this B&B!
Review 3:We loved the beautiful apartment, the location was perfect, and Bruno was an amazing host! We are from Hawaii and having worked in the hospitality business, can say that Bruno and his B&B are The Best!! Mahalo!!
Review 4:Nothing.
Review 5:Great place to stay if you are travelling via train. An easy walk to/from the station and central to the town. Owner was very welcoming. The room we had was lovely - comfortable bed & pillows. Kitchen upstairs with a coffee machine, kettle and plentiful food for breakfast was very welcome. Lots of dining options nearby.
Review 6:Wonderful warm welcoming host. Fantastic room with amazing views, breakfast was also very good. Great location, can't really fault anything. Tirano is a stunning place.
Review 7:The place is beautiful! We stayed at the penthouse with balcony, amazing views of the mountains, super clean, very nicely decorated, the staff, astonishing!! Bruno could not treat us better, he helped with the luggage, put everything together for us oh and the breakfast, just wonderful. Super delicious and fresh food! We had dinner at the Bistrot Restaurant downstairs and the staff and food were out of this world!! Oh and the location, a few steps from the train station! Had never stayed in such a nice place! Super highly recommended!!
Review 8:This is simply a wonderful B&B run by a very warm and helpful family. I can say that it was a delight to stay with them and it is literally only 50 meters from the railway station. A perfect rest place for my family (including four young children) after our trip on the Bernina express! Highly recommend it to any traveller. Cameron (Australia).
Review 9:Stepped off the train from St Moritz and walked about 50 yards to the B&B. Same again in the morning for the train to Milan. Lovely room (or small flat to be honest) in a beautiful location overlooking the Southern Alps. Wished I had booked for longer.
Review 10:Only real issues is they sent an email saying to meet at the cafe and the cafe was closed that day. Had a bit of trouble locating the correct person.
Review 11:The rooms were spacious and one of the best values I had on my trip. The gentleman we dealt with had very little English, but worked hard to understand what we needed.
Review 12:We regret spending only one night in this fabulous B n B and charming Tirano as well.
Review 13:This place is a gem. Nothing is to much for Bruno. We asked if he could direct us where to obtain a box and some tape to ship a parcel home and within 5 minutes it was on our doorstep. Wonderful host! We had a room with a shared bathroom and a balcony. Everything was so tastefully decorated. We also had access to the kitchen facilities. We loved our stay.
Review 14:In order to locate B&B Tirano there could be a sign at the train station. If there is one, my apologies.
Review 15:We were very appreciative of the friendly reception and as it turned out the fine quality of the food prepared on site.
Review 16:The only thing that would have made this stay better was air conditioning. But it was certainly not a deal breaker.
Review 17:The location of this B & B is within a 2-3 minute walk from where the Bernina Express stops in Tirano. My wife and I chose to stop in Tirano on July 19, 2015 in order to go to Lake Como the next day. We chose Bed & Breakfast Tirano because of its proximity to the train station. It was a wonderfully surprising place to stay, as well as a wonderful restaurant owned by the same family that owned the Bed & Breakfast. Marie and Emilio are the proprietors of the B & B, and they treated us like we were part of their family. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast was included, the shower was one of the best we had in Italy.
Review 18:The room was very cozy and had all sorts of extra touches added to make it feel homey. Breakfast was fantastic, plenty of hot and cold items to keep you satisfied most of the day.
Review 19:Beautiful, comfortable suite with welcoming decor. Owners so pleasant and helpful. Food in their bistro is amazing. The best way to start our two week honeymoon in Italy.
Review 20:Fabulous large loft apartment. Wonderfully appointed. The service from Alessia on check in was great and the food in the restaurant was magnificent. And such a great location also.
Review 21:I would have preferred breakfast in the Bistro. It was fine up in apartment, but the coffee and tea were excellent in the Bistro and disappointing in the room. The water warmer for the tea was worn on the inside and I chipping. We did not mind the walk to fifth floor but might be a consideration for some. There are ros on lower floors too. Bè sure to ask.
Review 22:The room was more of an apartment. Very charming. The staff was friendly and helpful when available. They own the Bistro next door and we highly recommend it for dining. The quality of the food at the Bistro is excellent. Far better than what you see mobs of tour groups eating in cafes. The price is very good for the quality. Location was great - two buildings fr train station.
Review 23:After see the room, I wanted to cancel my next travel destination to extend my stay here. However the room were booked by other already.
Review 24:Everything. It is like my dream home
Review 25:One room is on 5th floor without lift. But once you get to the room, all the climbs pay for itself. The other room, very narrow hall, small lift, it is difficult to manuever the stroller. But again, this place is very cheap compare to what we get. So can't complain.
Review 26:The owner must put a lot of effort (and bunch of money) to decor the rooms. Very beautiful, artful, with a lot of fine details. We booked 2 rooms, and for both rooms, one look can tell you that this property is managed with passion and love, not profit-oriented kind of place. 30 secs from the station, hearty breakfast.
Review 27:Everything was perfect.
Review 28:The room was like a deluxe home apartment flat, perfectly decorated. Excellent location, 2 minutes away walking from the train station. Very friendly stuff. Perfect breakfast.
Review 29:Access to rooms was through an apartment block with no signs or directions only dark corridors and a small lift.
Review 30:Superb location near to station. Tastefully decorated rooms, loved the top floor suite we were allocated.
Review 31:Not a bad experience but had asked for 2 ac rooms and got one ac and one without. As it was really hot in August would have made the stay a bit more comfortable but the friendliness of everyone more than compensated for this.
Review 32:Beautiful location, charming rooms and wonderful owners! Will definitely love to go back and spend at least a week enjoying this lovely town and its super friendly people . Our favourite stop on our 18 days in Italy!
Review 33:Loud music playing next door.
Review 34:We had a great stay at this establishment with one exception that is not of the fault of the owners. Great room, staff and wonderful meals at the bistro next door. But we go to sleep very early and the restaurant kitchen next door that was right under our room had loud music playing all afternoon and continued until 10:30 that night. In the afternoon, we mentioned it to the B & B owner and she said that the restaurant has a music curfew of 10:00pm. At 10:30 the music was still playing and we had to yell down to the kitchen staff to turn the music down. Once again, not the fault of the B & B but it is something you should be aware of if you are early to bed. .
Review 35:No AC. It was hot in July. But there was a good fan and lots of open windows provided a decent breeze. Checking in is somewhat complicated since there is not check-in counter. You need to be in email contact with the owner. A delightful young lady met us at the cafe next door and showed us the room, gates and keys, etc.
Review 36:Perfect place in this beautiful city. The open air Bernina Red Train through the Alps is awesome. Easy to get tickets in July. No reservations needed. The open air cars are in the back and you can just walk back to them. You can do a 1.5 hour train ride to Ospizio Bernina stop, where you can have lunch at the train station, view the beautiful glacier lake and hike around. We took the 1:30 train from Tirano and were back by 7p, which gave us two hours to eat lunch and walk around. The Tirano B&B is right next to the train station, so this worked well. Great outdoor restaurant and beautiful walking streets right next door.
Review 37:Welcoming feel with attention to detail. Friendly, family run place with their wonderful restaurant next door which served us the best meal that we had during our entire trip to Italy! They also give a discount to the guests for dinner
Review 38:The location is perfect for the people who want to take Bernina Express, just 2min walk from the station. The rooms are so lovely and sweet, every thing is perfect. And the most important is that the food and dessert in the restaurant downstairs which also belongs to this family is so tasty and delicate, as well as our breakfast of course! Definitely recommend!
Review 39:Very friendly family running this B&B, lovely comfortable room, plenty of space and a sitting room if required. Quiet location. Great breakfast. Recommend the b&b but also stay more than one night here.
Review 40:We had arrived late and could not find a place to have dinner. Jeremy very kindly whipped up a wonderful late supper for us all. It was delicious and we were most appreciative of his kind gesture. For breakfast, Sylvana and Bruno prepared for us a wonderful spread. We enjoyed our short stay very much.
Review 41:Nothing. Everything was wonderful!
Review 42:I liked everything including the friendly welcome I received when I arrived! The room was clean, modern and cute with everything I needed. Breakfast was great and plentiful. The guest lounge area was beautiful too. The price is super cheap for what you get. It delivered far beyond my expectations. I also had a meal at the associated restaurant and it was very tasty with friendly staff. Super close to both the Tirano train station and the Bernina Express station.
Review 43:In thecphtos on the website it showed the room having an oven and stove top for cooking, but when we arrived this was disconnected and unavailable even although there were lots of pots and pans and cooking utensils in the drawers. Unfortunately, this did not suit our needs, as we needed to cook own food for a family member with food allergies. Also, the breakfast provided in the room was not very extensive, e.g. we would have liked some sort of egg option as has been offered in every other place we have stayed with breakfasts. Lastly, we needed to have the windows open to keep the room cool, as there was no air conditioning, but then it was very noisy as with the central location, the rooms were on a street with lots of restaurants below and people eating outside till late, so we did not sleep well. Finally the main bed needs fixing as it squeaks whenever either person moves - not good for a good nights sleep.
Review 44:Location was very handy for traveling on the Bernina express. Room was clean, if somewhat dark.
Review 45:space for only one suitcase
Review 46:This is an unusually delightful set up with access to a balcony and lounge room and an artistic décor. All facilities excellent and staff very hospitable. Close to train station
Review 47:The curtain is a thin white lacy one, sunlight come through it very early in the morning and woke up us at 4. And since we are on the first floor, the curtain cannot help shielding much from the view of the street, though actually not many people passes by! But if another thicker layer of curtain for the night would be much better.
Review 48:Our room is on first floor with its own entrance, and we enjoy the privacy there. There is a handsome choice of breakfast, you can serve yourself with ease, the items in the kitchen are free to consume. When we did the check out and told the staff that we had difficulty with the coffee machine, he immediately made two for us a shot of espresso, very nice!
Review 49:A beautiful very large apartment with friendly happy staff. Every need is catered for, particularly breakfast supplies. Although on the third floor because it is in the older part of the building it is well worth a few steps.
Review 50:We just needed a place to stay for one night prior to taking the Bernina Express trip. What we ended up with was having a large suite on the top floor with an abundance of room. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating.
Review 51:The breakfast was not as pictured or described by previous travelers. The room was very bright and not that well sound-proofed. The shower could have used more water pressure and higher temperature.
Review 52:The room was big and very clean. Nice view of the surrounding mountains The staff was very friendly.
Review 53:We were woken at daybreak each morning by the light coming into the room. Thicker curtains or blinds would make the place ideal.
Review 54:The family who run this B&B put so much into it. It is extremely pleasant and comfortable. The place is spotlessly clean, stylishly decorated and equipped.
Review 55:The best accomodation ever. Lovely interior, many cute vintage details, very clean, big room and bathroom, balcony. Great location, next to train station. Very nice people. Good breakfast in lovely bistro downstairs.
Review 56:The room was a surprise. Large room and large bathroom, with a great view from the balcony. The people were extremely nice, helpful and very accommodating. The breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend this B&B.
Review 57:Italians stay late. My room is on the 2nd floor and there's a restaurant under so on Saturday night the talking and laughing last a bit too long. Other nights were fine.
Review 58:Bed&Breakfast Tirano has the warmest host ever! I visited Tirano to cycle briefly as a break from my business trip. The shared bathroom is spotless and there's always food in the kitchen. Feel just like home.
Review 59:The host were very friendly and he surprised us by meeting us at the train station. The B&B is just a stone throw away from the train station and it's a perfect spot for travelers. Breakfast was awesome and we couldn't help but to be amazed at the B&B arrangement! Our 2yrs old son love the place as he could easily roam around the B&B freely! Would definitely recommend this place to all!
Review 60:That we couldn't stay longer.
Review 61:B & b Tirano exceeded all expectations and is by far the best placewe stayed during our 16 day trip through Europe. Sylvana and her teamare extremely helpful, accommodating, and pleasant. I can't sayenough nice things about them. The room we booked was even better thanthe pictures. Adorably decorated and spacious, with a panoramic view ofthe lovely town of Tirano and surrounding Alps. We couldn't ask foranything more.
Review 62:We loved the personal attention during our stay. They were awaiting our arrival and had our breakfast table set and waiting for us in the morning. They own the restaurant Mizzini on the corner, which was our best food the entire trip. They gave us extra attention and made our stay really comfortable. We were carrying skis/backpacks and traveling by train, so it couldn't have been a better location. Loved it!!
Review 63:Such did not bother me but for those without many euros to hand beware that they do not have card facilities for payment so they want cash. Not sure why as a family business the bistro could not account on a business footing for the relatives b&b bookings. Just a helpful warning. In my room the bathroom fan came on with the user of the light and it was very noisy. Fortunately did not stay on long. Did not know if other guest would have been able to hear it. The shower was small and you need to be slim. The doors did not close fully and thus water went on the floor. Simple adjustment of the stops and having them level would solve this. Having made these comments I would have no problem staying at this b&b again. Although this is under 'what I didn't like' none of the above was of great concern to me but know that it can be to others. After this hotel I stayed at a great hotel in Baden Baden Complete with breakfast and spa for extra 17 euros per night on the cost of my stay in Tirano. It depends upon what you want or need or value from your roof over your head when travelling. Stayed at four hotels on my two weeks of travelling. All different types but happy with each. Tirano is about a two-day stay town.
Review 64:Easy to locate being a few steps from the railway station. Owners communication was very good with a text message to meet them at their bistro next door. On arrival I was escorted to the property and shown to my room and to the breakfast room, kitchen and lounge. Very civilised indeed. I was shown which would be my table the which already place setting with my name on it. Then I was down which keys operated what and then left to settle in with a kindly invited to dine at their Bistro that evening. On this occasion I appeared to be the only guest but usually I understand that someone serves at breakfast times. However, I was left to my own devices excepting that fresh croissant etc was set out for me, and had free range of the kitchen. Yes I did work out how to operate the coffee machine. Fresh fruit, eggs etc in the fridge. Pleasant lavender leaves on the plate with the breakfast. Good choice but beware that the bread in packets contains lard and so not suitable for us veggies. Delightful view from the adjacent lounge which had tv and brochures, books etc. Yes tv was in the room also. Overall very tastefully decorated and homely and felt secure. Would stay again. The bistro was well appointed and delightful ambiance. May be a little pricy in the scheme of things but it is on the Swiss border. There is plenty of choice of dining in this compact town with its delightful views and ancient streets. Go for a walk about is a must. If you do not you will have missed some curious and wonderful hidden gems. Go through poem enhances and find fountains and ancient courtyards with old murals etc. The scent of Wisteria can be enjoyed across the road from your room ... well I did in April. Tranquil and peaceful. The owners very friendly and obliging. Tirano is about a two-day stay town. I shall return with friends I am sure. Another glass of the local red. ...tasty!
Review 65:The owners are such hospitable people and the apartment have a perfect ambience which made the stay very enjoyable. Perfect position if you need to take the bernina train. Highly recommended
Review 66:The B&B is family run so you get personal service unlike some big hotels.Alessia & Jeremy and the other family members were all so friendly.Bistro on the ground floor was superb.Located only a 1 minute walk from Tirano station.
Review 67:There is no lift however the owner carried my very heavy bag to the top floor. Suggest if you are not able to do stairs you request lower floor room.
Review 68:The quaint B&B is more an apartment with everything you could want for any stay. The owners were so helpful. The bistro next door has amazing food and wines. Great for evening drink or meals. WiFi was fast and reliable. We will definitely recommend to family and friends and will definitely stay again if we return to this part of Europe.
Review 69:Everything major that you consider in an accommodation was perfect i.e. location, the rooms, the hosts, the breakfast that they serve is superb! The location is few steps away from the train station. Very good for jumping off to Switzerland via Bernina Pass. The town itself is very nice and picturesque. The B&B looked and felt very warm and welcoming. The kitchen was well stocked and interior of the place was well-decorated. The hosts made us feel very welcome and they provided special food for the kids and the breakfast was prepared by the hosts themselves, delicious, hot and fresh. They made chocolate croissants specially for the children. The family-owned Bistro Merizzi next door offers very good food as well, perfect for trying out Italian dishes.
Review 70:Only negative was the owner tended to hang around the communal kitchen shared with his other guests.
Review 71:Beautiful old apartment in the middle of Tirano, with a restaurant just down stairs. Very close to the Bernina Express (train going from Tirano to Switzerland). Owner supplied us with yummy fruit, cereals, youghurts and croissants from his bakery every morning.
Review 72:Check in was a little difficult do to off season. Hard to find an open restaurant because off season
Review 73:Very close to the train station and a great jump off location for the Bernina Express and a trip to lake Como
Review 74:Pretty close to traind station. Nice looking rooms. Very, very kind and helpfull owners. Good and tasty breakfast. I am sure I will come back to B&B again.
Review 75:Like everything! The bedroom that has a balcony that you can walk out, nice bathroom, kitchen that has everything, nice dining n living room. Very warm, cosy place n nicely decorated place. Good breakfast. Location is stone throw away from train station. Above all, nice n friendly owner. Wish all B&B are like B&B Tirano.
Review 76:Can not think of anything.
Review 77:Everything. Close to train station. Friendly host. Great accomodations -the best we experienced in Europe. Bruno & Sylvana have done aphenomenal job in restoring this home to a b & B. Would easily stayhere on every visit.
Review 78:The suite was located on the third floor (without an elevator) but the owner helped carrying the suitcases so not a real issue.
Review 79:Everything. The location was perfect, the suite spacious and large, immaculate and beautiful decor. The kitchen was well stocked and the included breakfast delicious and filling. The owner was helpful, warm and friendly, and also spoke excellent English. The price was also very good value.
Review 80:The street sweeper woke me up at 5.30am. Normally would not be an issue but was during the time of flood, landslide warnings in Italy with heavy rain. I thought street sweeper noise was a siren to notify all residents of evacuation because we have a siren in Australia for emergency evacuations for bushfire and floods. My mistake and not the owners!
Review 81:People friendly. Apartment very clean. Good room size. Big lounge area. Balcony. Clean bathroom with a bathtub! Very good customer service. Booked online for same day check in. Right near the train station for local trains and departure on Bernina Express. Great location with shops, restaurants, supermarket nearby. Loved Tirano. Would stay longer next time.
Review 82:A very.. very nice & friendly owner. Clean, spacious, warm & well decorated 'house', really make you feel like home! Great location just near to train station. Everything is just GREAT! The best hotel we stayed in Europe!
Review 83:Absolutely nothing....
Review 84:This bb with it's host Bruno, Silvia, Alissa, and camierera Christina and Valintina with his son cuoco made our visit very memorable. The bb is a converted home and is appointed as such with wonderful antiques the bed is big and comfortable. We had a balcony and the ability to make Caffè Americano. The bb breakfast is the best, fresh fruits, grilled vegetables, meats, cheeses, juices, fruits, cereals fresh milk, breads, crossiants, jams, butter a toaster. ..couldn't ask for more. The bb owns the restaurant next door bistrot Misizzi... it is fabulous with excellent food and good prices... Bruno, helped us with train reservations to St Moritz, and helped us with seeing Tirano... a perfect 4 day visit..
Review 85:Towels probably need to be replaced were small and thin. Pillows could also be upgraded.
Review 86:Excellent location just a 50 metre walk from train station. Very comfortable room with ensuite shower. Lovely comfortable large bed. Pleasant communal sitting area and dining room with use of kitchen. Excellent value for money.
Review 87:This place is amazing
Review 88:This place is the best we stayed in Europe for a great price. Food, cleanliness, quality is amazing. Friendly, helpful, 50m from station.
Review 89:A bit noisy due to common bathroom and living/dining areas, but nothing atypical of B&Bs and certainly not enough to not stay there again. A bit tricky to find but the operator walked me through it over the phone.
Review 90:Everything! Charming building that is clean and well-maintained, an accommodating and friendly staff, breathtaking view from room, pleasant common areas, ample meals, terrific surrounding area. Parking available on street.
Review 91:I liked the place and recommend it
Review 92:I was very pleased with the room and bathroom. It was clean, comfortable and homely. There was a clean kitchen and lounge area to relax in. There were only a few guest rooms so it was like lovely after travelling for 2 months. The B & B was very close to the train station and main street and cafes.
Review 93:Nothing
Review 94:The house is so nicely decorated, bed is very comfortable and everything is great! The best part is the sumptuous breakfast. Enjoy the stay very much!
Review 95:Feeling like home! Perfect location, next to train station but really silent. Super breakfast! Great accomodation and warm welcoming atmosphere!
Review 96:A bit of noise from outside
Review 97:Polenty of space, very nice breakfast, comfortable living room and very nice owner
Review 98:Some waiting time upon arrival, but normal for a B&B as we booked last minute.
Review 99:Really a great place to stay! We will come again.
Review 100:nothing bad
Review 101:very friendly and helpful hosts
Review 102:Superb accommodation and hospitable host. We felt like we were in the penthouse. Would thoroughly recommend.
