Review 1：The décor is a rather dated. But for the price, can't complain about anything.

Review 2：Front desk staff were tirelessly patient and helpful. Very quiet, clean and comfortable. Very close to the train station and just a short walk to the centre of town. Convenient nearby shops to pick up water, wine etc. Modena is lovely - felt very safe walking around night and day.

Review 7：Awful coffee (in italy - can you believe it??) for breakfast. Otherwise breakfast OK. Though the hotel is supposed to be non-smoking, the room smelt so strongly of smoke and we got it changed. I thought the hotel was overpriced but that could be due to the proximity to the centre.

Review 8：Located 1km from the centre of Modena and an easy walk. Very helpful, cheerful staff. Secure, paid car park. If you do not wish to pay, you could park on the street as the hotel's customer providing a space is available. Well appointed room with good bathroom facilities. Very comfortable bed. Free WiFi but needed to log in every 20mts on so. Good coverage. Lovely gardens next door.

Review 11：The bathroom was very small and needed a new shower unit- the doors didn't close properly. However the shower was as clean as possible given that it was old. I would prefer to use the same towels for my visit and for it to be made of more absorbent material. there is no need to change them everyday.

Air conditioning unit very noisy and didn't cool the room. No tea/coffee facilities in room. Very noisy: could hear doors closing and people talking. Not good value for money: overpriced! Avoid room 312! Photos on website not representative!

Review 25：The location was located within a short walk of the train station, center city, and most of the attractions one would wish to see. Warm and welcoming staff provided an enjoyable atmosphere at all times of the day.

Review 26：While clean and cozy, the hotel seemed a bit dated. Poor wifi, needed to be renewed each day, kept logging off. Street parking (while free) is at a premium, and could be tough to find.

Rooms are small and dated, but this is expected from a central based hotel that is 3star. All in all, happy with my stay however the mattress was hard and uncomfortable.

My room faced 2 roads, I stood at the window watching cars, buses, trucks go by & I could not hear one single sound! Brilliant. All the ladies working in the hotel were dressed in black frocks with white frilly aprons & I thought they added an extra charm to the place. All the staff were very pleasant & helpful. Our room had a cracked shower tray, curtain rails but nocurtains, a large crack in the wall, mini bar not working, tv remotenot working, they brought up a different TV/remote and this timethe tv was not working properly. The hotel decided to switch off theair conditioning because in their opinion there was no need for it. Itwas only switched back on because we complained. Dining room too smallOne morning we had to have our breakfast on a sofa in the next room onour knees because there were no tables available. Booking.comconfirmed a double room on the website, but when we got there, we weretold they have no double rooms at all. This info should be correctedon the website.

Review 119：We chose the Hotel Principe because of its location in relation to therailway station. We were only visiting for a couple of days as our mainreason for staying in Modena was a trip to Maranello to visit theFerrari factory and museum. The staff at the hotel were very friendly,helpful and courteous, and spoke excellent english, which was a greathelp as our Italian is non-existant. There was a real old fashionedsense of gentility about the hotel, yet our room had a modern bathroomand air conditioning. We loved it and would certainly recommend it.

Review 120：We stayed for one night, and arrived at the train station which is a 5 min walk to the hotel, so easy to find. Our room, 104, was clean and big enough, and with good air con. The receptionist was very nice upon check in and gave us a map of the town and indications about the Ferrari museums. The Enzio Ferrari house museum is just a 7 min walk from the hotel and walking into the city centre was just a 10 min walk. Breakfast was simple and fine enough for our standards, as we usually don't eat breakfast. We recommend hotel Principe if you look for cheap, simple and nice accommodation.
