Reviews for Hotel Masseria Donnaloia
Review 1:Everything was very clean and excellent. Especially the chef's food was exquisite. I have traveled all south of italy, but it was the best food yet
Review 2:The rooms in the main building are very poorly insulated and you have the feeling that your neighbours above and next door are right in your room or you in theirs... In the rooms in the courtyard, the wifi does not work. This place is very expensive for the quality it offers.
Review 3:The location is 11km south of Monopoli and not in Monopoli. The breakfast menu is OK and the staff is nice and arranging.
Review 4:It was not a bad experience, but the term "private beach" is inaccurate. Thenhotel, has some umbrellas reserved at a public beach that you, have to,pay to,get in, but it is by no means private.....on Sudayntheir had to have been at lease 800"people there and 100"umbrellas in their " private" beach area that is about as big as a football field.
Review 5:Around 3 km from the beach (need to use a car or free hotel shuttle) Close to the main road (somewhat noisy at night) Savoury breakfast quite poor for a 5-star hotel Need a car to get to Monopoli Pillows could have been smaller (although it's a matter of taste, of course)
Review 6:Beautiful hotel, nice room, comfortable bed Good choice of fresh pastry and fruits for breakfast Private sandy beach with free sunbeds, umbrellas and beach tovels Wifi in the rooms
Review 7:not as near the beach [ 250 metres ] as made out on website, in fact a few kms to the beach club which had no food to offer as was end of the season in mid September.
Review 8:we arrived very early at about 10.30am just off the Dubrovnik - Bari ferry and whilst the room was made ready we were given a marvelous breakfast from the kitchens as breakfast had ended with the best pastries in any of the hotels in southern Italy that we visited on our two week trip. Next day the full breakfast was even better ! The dinner was not as good as expected from this quality of hotel, peaceful location with beautiful grounds.
Review 9:Perhaps this residense is a little too quiet & remote for some however, it was perfect for us.
Review 10:We liked everything, the surroundings, staff, service, food, drink, price etc etc
Review 11:Need a car for this location Private beach crowded Beds - metal frame, small and springy
Review 12:The staff The historic building The food and restaurant The courtyard with swimming pool
Review 13:No robes. One massage room. Limited room types. Very small bathrooms, with no views. Given expense would expect these items. Beach further than 250m.
Review 14:Nothing, everything was ok
Review 15:Nice restaurant and good service. WiFi is poor but free. It was hard tofind, but after putting the n and e coordinates into the gps, it was ok.
Review 16:Room are a bit small and old fashion Breakfast are ok Too bad you can't have a meal on the rooftop which is incredible
Review 17:The hotel is really nice Nice view and nice location Great swimming pool Nice restaurant Staff is really nice Room are clean and bed really confortable
Review 18:The level of customer service is poor. We had problems with the A/C, it dod not work well, the reception kept saying for hours that they were trying to find out the problem then about midnight they said that all they can do is say sorry. When I asked the first time in the morning during check-out a discount for the inconvenience the say: no, all we can do is say sorry!... the building belongs to somebody and the hotel is run by a resort company then they blame each other but they do not solve the customer problems. Very poor customer service! I will not go back there.
Review 19:Convenient location, nice hotels. Food is ok, but you can kind better options outside.
Review 20:Beach is not private, not only for hotel guests, many many many many people, children.....2 km by car...Parking lot was full on the weekend from 11 am..
Review 21:Nothing is a problem at this hotel:-)
Review 22:This Masseria is excellent , close to the beach, we had a beautiful large room. But mainly this place has the most helpful and service minded staff. Everyone from the cleaners to the reception are kind and polite. We loved this place and will definitely go back
Review 23:we were expecting a real queen size and found a twin bed….
Review 24:Swimming Pool was great, the all area also.
Review 25:Nothing
Review 26:Amazing. Great staff. Good location. Lovely food.
Review 27:no bad experience
Review 28:i loved everything
Review 29:Overpriced restaurant
Review 30:Lovely location, friendly relaxed atmosphere.
Review 31:The staff were really helpful and nice but there could have been more of them eg had to wait to get served in bar. No shower except hand held one over bath. Not much choice for dinner (2 per course) but the catch of the day on the first night was excellent.
Review 32:Nice peaceful country location yet near beach and village and plenty of nearby attractions. Only 5 mins from motorway but can't see or hear it. Spacious room with sea view and jacuzzi. Helpful staff. Nice pool and spa. Good wifi. Bikes available.
Review 33:It seemed that the staff was preparing the location for summer...while hosting us. Therefore, there have been some paintings going on and working noises (too early in the morning). The breakfast bufet is quite...minimalistic.
Review 34:The chefs in the masseria`s kitchen did a great job for dinner. The beach where the masseria`s guests have access is nice and the easy food there is delicious. Beware: better have a rented car at hand if you want to move around the region easily ;-)
Review 35:Very difficult to find, even with input from local people. Please send map with booking confirmation and/or on website.
Review 36:Alessandro did an amazing job - luggage, reception, dining room, breakfast, printing boarding cards, departure - 100% ! Lovely room, good food, even tho' menu was reduced for the end of season
Review 37:Our friends room was inferior to ours. It was more like staff accom. Ours was grand with sea view and in the main house.they did not have a blanket
Review 38:Welcome, drink, menu, breakfast. Location
Review 39:difficult to find even with a GPS (no indication on the roads;but everu other hotel has a sign on the road) Wi-Fi is not working very good Breakfast is not worthy a 5 star Not enough storage cupboard for clothes in the room
Review 40:not far from the beach a nice and quite swimming pool ,without music very kindly staff the cleanliness of the Masseria very easy to get to Bari,Lecce ,Gallipoli and the countryside
Review 41:Insufficient information about the location. It is not in Monopoli - it's about 5km to the south. Poor wi-fi coverage
Review 42:Drinks served by the pool area
Review 43:There is nothing negative to say about the masseria Donnaloia
Review 44:The perfect place for quiet relaxation. Comfortable, clean in a beautiful farmhouse setting. I absolutely love it and would not hesitate to return!
Review 45:Not 5-star (no luxury) Very basic rooms No storage in room (impossible to unpack clothes - must live out of suitcase)
Review 46:Architecture and ambience Excellent breakfast!!! Charming pool and pool area Beach access included in price Shuttlebus to beach The sea is very nice
Review 47:The staff has been very friendly and helpful. "Anything is possible" is their motto. Francesco and Domenico are very dynamic concierges. Giuseppe and the other waiters and maitre d'hotel add a touch of class to the fresh delicious meals served in a typical Apulian atmosphere. As regards the menu, particular requests have happily been fulfilled by the chef. Rooms are cleaned very thoroughly and several times a day without any disturbance to the guests.
Review 48:it is too expensive, the room was too small for the price
Review 49:the location a bit out of town, the swimming pool, the building/architecture, the roof top terrace, the flowers
Review 50:It was a very relaxing place to come back to after a day of sightseeing. The beach is nearby and the pool is beautiful. Capitolo is a great little town to walk to for dinner or gelato. Just a great place - we stayed 5 nights and loved it.
Review 51:Although it is a 5 star hotel but I would rate it as a 4 star hotel based on the property.
Review 52:Its a nice ambience, clsoe to the beach. The staff is very friednly.
Review 53:I liked the pool, breakfast, the view to the sea from the outside spaces and attentive but not intrusive staff
Review 54:Service, location, cleanliness
Review 55:Tricky to find without a gps
Review 56:Historic manor
Review 57:The location, the food , the staff. Can't fault the place.
Review 58:Food was a bit disappointing.
Review 59:Location, staff, ambience
Review 60:The rooms are pleasant but not particularly comfortable .
Review 61:Quiet, friendly,
Review 62:poor wifi not many staff
Review 63:location quiet atmosphere privacy
Review 64:I enjoyde the very good service from the entire staff staff, from reception, to resturant and driver.
