Reviews for Hotel Il Melograno

Review 1:We were in a second floor room with exterior wooden shutters which banged all night in the high winds. Apparently this was known to the management but nothing had been done to fix it

Review 2:The concierge staff were all very helpful in guiding us to the interesting places to visit in the area.

Review 3:The setting is fabulous, the service and courtesy of the staff at top level and the area offers beautiful daily excursions in amazing places (Ostuni, Alberobello, Monopoli, Polignano just to name a few)

Review 4:The noisy metal bed head board which squeaked with every slight movements. Bedside light only on one side of bed.

Review 5:The hotel layout and facilities, the suites, the trees and other plants, the breakfasts, the restaurant ...etc

Review 6:superior room was noisy in the early morning as cleaning trolleys were wheeled by on the adjacent pathway.

Review 7:beautiful hotel in peaceful rural location with truly picturesque grounds and public areas. The gardens around the hotel and pool have an abundance of mature olive trees and we were told that some that have been 'integrated' into the design of the hotel sumptuous public rooms are some 1,00 years old. large pool which when we stayed in September was almost unused with restaurant adjacent with views to pool and gardens. Very good breakfast and we had a perfect dinner of local cuisine. wished we had stayed longer !

Review 8:We visited in early September when it was already less than half full. As a result the restaurant was lacking in any atmosphere as was the bar area. Overall the standard of service was not up to the 5 star status it claims to have.

Review 9:The hotel is pleasant in itself and in a good location just outside Monopoli which is a very pretty port and well worth the visit. The sister restaurant of the hotel La Pescheria which is located on the seafront about a 10 minute drive is well worth a visit.

Review 10:1. Somewhat remote location 2. Not necessarily good value. e.g bottle of red salice salintino reserve 2011 cost Eur 35 in restaurant. In Taverna Vecchio Monopoli, cost Eur18 for same bottle! Seen in shop in Lecce priced at Eur 9.50.

Review 11:1. Quality of service 2. Great character 3. Very good food

Review 12:Had to beg for a map of the area. Reception area lacking on all fronts. Woman took out a scrap paper and drew lines. Inadequate information at front desk regarding sites and directions around local area. Gym terrible. While the spa area is grand and modern, gym is in basement and has no A/C -- boiling hot! Pool old. Wi-Fi non-existent

Review 13:Restaurant service and food excellent. Very good A/C in room.

Review 14:Poor breakfast and dinner not so good as in the past

Review 15:fantastic beach

Review 16:this site did not appear to record my rating scores

Review 17:excellent hotel, helpful and courteous staff, superb facilities - luxury without fuss

Review 18:the location, the staff, the cleanliness and the facilities - all combined to produce a superb week for us in the sunshine of Southern Italy!

Review 19:From the moment you enter the security gate of this walled and exclusive hotel, you are struck by the beautiful and enchanting oasis in which you find yourself. A classical, traditional hotel in every sense, offering high-quality accommodation, a tranquil environment where you can truly unwind and relax, and a wonderful gourmet breakfast. Un piccolo paradiso! Highly recomended.

Review 20:Wifi system unacceptable for this day and age. Evening meal not excellent.no English channels on tv hundreds of other channels

Review 21:Excellent helpful staff. Interesting building good location. Breakfast excellent.spent lovely day at beach.good service and bar etc.

Review 22:The mosquitoes at night on the verandah / terrace restaurant. There must be a simple, smell-free solution to these irritating and distracting insects.

Review 23:Everything! Il Melograno is a pristine and superbly run luxury hotel. Staff excellent. The breakfast is an absolute treat, and dinner in the terrace restaurant equally so. Gorgeous swimming pool and the grounds and buildings both charming and immaculate. It's position, outside Monopoly, enabled easy day trips to towns of historic importance, and their private beach, south of Monopoly, was most welcome. We did not go into Monopoli, so have no opinion on Monopoli.

Review 24:Everything

Review 25:Excellent location, very individual, wonderful food and very in tune with the surroundings. A great place to relax.
