Reviews for Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort & Spa- All Inclusive

Review 1:You MUST hace reservations in the restaurants The bathrooms outdoor were very dirty

Review 2:I like the amenities, the swimming pool, the quality of the food, the room was quiet and clean.

Review 3:The wi-fi in the room and on the beach was spotty. The beach very pretty, but it was a pain to get into the water because the bottom, close to shore, was covered with rocks and coral. Check-in was ridiculously long, more than half an hour with only four people in front of me.

Review 4:It is a very attractive facility. The restaurants were also very nice. Food presentation was well done, and while not five star, was more than adequate. Breakfast buffets were comprehensive and well laid-out.

Review 5:the snack bar is not open all day it would be convenient to have it open more hours. they should have more people working the front desk it gets busy and people get annoyed having to wait a long time in line.

Review 6:I liked the location, the resort was nice, workers were friendly, food was good I was expecting more sea food but overall it was good.

Review 7:Food was bad except for breakfast buffet. First room had leak from ceiling - obviously an ongoing issue. Second room phone didn't work and the elevator NEVER worked the whole week and we were on the 4th floor - didn't look as though they were even attempting to repair . Unacceptable in 98 degree heat and if you are older.

Review 8:staff were very pleasant. Location next to Puerto Aventuras was awesome

Review 9:A couple of small suggestions - The staff at the front desk was to few with the amount of traffic they have. The show they have at night is below High School play quality. We just didn't go anymore after the first one. The one and only service complaint is the towel service at the beach. The young lady that works there was there a few minutes after they closed and I tried to exchange my towel and she refused and said no tomorrow morning. With the amazing service from all the entire staff this is definetly not the same as I expected from a Catalonia staff member. But Olga the lady that serviced our room came through. After asking her the same she left even later that night and went above and beyond!

Review 10:The accommodations, service, quality of food, room service, activities and attention to detail were great.

Review 11:The reception needed more staff. At times you had to wait over half an hour to talk to someone.

Review 12:The entertainment team were so enthusiastic and full of fun. They carried out a good range of activities that my teenage children and I enjoyed. It really was good natured fun for all ages. Also a good range of restaurants to choose from.

Review 13:Pools very small, beach had rocks in some areas. Seawater had lots of floating plants in there.

Review 14:Food was good, restaurants have great locations. Accomodations were close to everything. You could take a lot of trips from the hotel

Review 15:Breakfast buffet and that you had to order breakfast room service the night before.. The pools were very crowded. People left their towels to save spots and went and did other stuff

Review 16:The upgraded room

Review 17:Very hard to find something not good...

Review 18:Everythingh. The staff was very friendly and each one tries to make your stay more pleasant as possible. The price/quality rate is really excellent! The see is very beautiful, you can see a lot of fishes standing a few meters from the beach. There are a lot of restaurants.

Review 19:Only book through hotel directly!!! It is half the price! We paid double using booking.com

Review 20:Excellent staff, food is good.

Review 21:Improve the choice of liquor and better food.

Review 22:Beautiful location.

Review 23:Orange juice isn't natural,

Review 24:Everything was good! Really recomiended place.

Review 25:Water and lights went out. Spotty WIFI

Review 26:Good food and facilities. Very friendly staff.

Review 27:Everything

Review 28:The beach had corals, dangerous for anybody to enjoy the beach or swimming in the ocean.

Review 29:Location, facilities and great staff!

Review 30:WiFi was fair. Also did not like the sales push for the higher priced options upon arrival. That was a turn off.

Review 31:The facilities were clean and well maintained. The restaurant options were good. Daily entertainment was enjoyable,

Review 32:Wifi is available almost everywhere. You have to make a conscious effort to leave your devices in the room. The buffets were uninspired. Grill options are not as good as many other resorts. The daytime hamburger restaurant provides nacho cheese as cheese for a cheeseburger. Mexican food is not a focus at this resort. If I'm going to Mexico, I want Mexican food, even if it's Texmex to satisfy the unadventurous taste buds of certain guests.

Review 33:Privileged amenities were good. The beach was good, though getting into the water is a challenge. Variety of restaurants is better than most. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They seemed very focused on your satisfaction and comfort.

Review 34:The standard rooms were horrible. The ac didn't work, the bed was as hard as the tile floor, and the door didn't shut all the way. We had to prop a chair against the door just to feel safe sleeping. We upgraded to a privilege suite and it was great after that.

Review 35:Everything was very clean and the staff was wonderful.

Review 36:Wifi sucks. Did not like rocky beach. No room service. Drinks in theroom are limited/per day, which we didn't take any anyways. Didnot like that everyone gets different treatment base on their package sobetter upgrade for better room/beds and treatment. Did not like thegirls working in the shop downstairs. I think they have an attitude, seems like they wanted to go home and not be there. They made me pay atreception but my partner can pay them (so I didn't get that). Hardto get to the disco club, wish they had a shortcut instead of going fromthe back to the beach, or the front pass the ch Riviera Maya receptionacross the parking lot to the other ch Yucutan reception.

Review 37:I like the family & friendly environment. Love theentertainments. Very friendly staff beside the girl at the shopdownstair. Beautiful resorts. It feels safe even at 2am. - Upgradeyour package for better (more comfortable) bed and treatment. Pleasetips if you got good service.

Review 38:Hotel is 25 minutes walk from the highway (behind a gate for puerto Aventuras).Cheap collectivo's can only found here. Other posisbilities to travel are only given by the expensive tour desk or by ordering a taxi (which is more expensive than elsewhere). There were lots of staf but the reception is understaffed.

Review 39:We stayed for 4 days on this place after a lot of backpacking. The location was good, the people very friendly, the a la carte restaurants were great and there was plenty of room at the beaches and the pools. Everything was kept clean and up to date. Price/quality was gooed (last minute booking via booking.com).

Review 40:The hotel advertises free wifi but in truth, the wifi only works formaybe 30 minutes a day at random intervals - calls to have this fixedresulted in false promises and no fixes. The food is mediocre at best, but edible... The Japanese restaurant is probably the best bet fordinner. The beach/pool areas are too small relative to the size of theresort during peak season (I'm an early riser so was able to get a spot, but if you were to wake up later than 9:30 you'd probably be out ofluck). Also the beach and sand are not that nice, somewhat rocky.

Review 41:The rooms were pretty well appointed and clean (I was in a deluxeprivileged room). The resort was on the smaller side relative to someother all inclusives I have been to so it was nice to be able to walkand not get lost. The service was overall very good with beach serviceand attentive and friendly staff. The cost of staying here was at least25% cheaper than the other hotels I saw in the area at the time I bookedso I think the overall experience was a good value although I do havesome issues.

Review 42:It was impossible to take dinner with all my family together at the big table (13 persons)

Review 43:Woody design

Review 44:They gave us an upgraded room without asking, and without even telling us.
