Reviews for Hotel Oleandro
Review 1:nothing
Review 2:beautiful views, comfortable beds, great food, welcoming staff, well suited to the needs of the less mobile, lovely walks down to beautiful beaches
Review 3:The Oléandro could be the perfect place to hide from the world for several weeks and just to enjoy sunrise and sunset and swimming and diving in between. But therefore they would really have to raise their comfort and the level of the cooking. It is hard to understand for tourists from abroad that you get instant coffee for breakfast and that the pasta served in the menu was terribly bad. If you go there to eat - and it is a really spectacular show you will get from the sunset when you are lucky to receive one of the seats in the "first row" - choose à la carte. If you want to eat on a level that equals the view you have to drive a long way ... Although the comfort you get might differ from the expectations the price may rise: the hotel is labelled with an italian two-star standard. Taking that into account: the standard was expectable.
Review 4:The Hotel Oléandro has a spectacular view, amazing site. Although not easy not reach it is a nice "hideaway" with a beautiful private beach and one of the most beautiful beaches of Elba, the Cottoncello nearby. Family driven hotel. Nice and friendly patron.
Review 5:Amenities like pool and beach access cost extra and ordering other things at breakfast, while it said they were complimentary were not.
Review 6:Breakfast buffet was amazing. The view and the sunsets rocked. Super clean, comfortable, friendly staff, let us keep our bags there and stay in the lounge until flight. Even gave us a deck of playing cards while it rained.
Review 7:Complimentary breakfast only included one very poor (Nescafé machine) coffee and one croissant, while the restaurant generally does have a proper coffee machine and decent lavazza coffee. For additional 4€ per person per day it was possible to 'upgrade' to a buffet breakfast. However, this was also rather poor, half an hour prior to closing time at times nothing was left except for some slices of bread and marmalade. The close beaches are small with nice water however only rocky beaches.
Review 8:Amazing view, drinks on the terrace
Review 9:You need a car to get here, it's 2 km uphill from the busstop. Breakfast is a croissant (nice) with very poor nescafe coffee. It's approximately 15 min walk to the sea.
Review 10:View over the sea with regards to the sunset and view in general
Review 11:Breakfast buffet is not included with the run (only a coffee and a croissant is proposed in the price).
Review 12:Wonderful location!! In front of the sea in a quite area with a private beach... Impossible to dream of a better place to rest during holidays! The restaurant is excellent!!!
Review 13:room furniture was poor/bathroom was clean but the equipment was very old and some stuff didn´t work so there was always water on the whole floor. if you book room via booking you get very poor breakfast -why?? there is no information on booking.com like this. poor wifi
Review 14:personal was very kind and helpfull, view from the balcony, scenery, silent and peaceful place
Review 15:Overall, over-priced and below Italy level service... Very clearly profit-oriented place and not taking care of guests comfort. The bed was the worst in my life, got only back pain from it. The 'included breakfast' is a croissant and cappuccino, which was not stated in the reservation. For a regular buffet breakfast (nothing warm, just cereals, bread, ham/cheese) you need to pay 4€/head more, which with the price of the room I find greedy to charge for. Wifi works only at the reception and actually very often doesn't-which was annoying since we had to make arrangements for further trips. Also, the rooms are incredibly small for the price (2x3m2), and walls so thin you can hear your neighbour peeing loud. There are no options to eat around and the restaurant takes only breakfast in the morning, then there is 20 mins time slot for lunch at 1pm and then 40 mins slot for diner at 8pm so make sure you are hungry at those hours otherwise you don't eat. Also, the owner always tries to force some stuff on you not mentioning what's the price consequences (eg. 'We run out of small beers, but please take a big one', recommending to switching spaghetti for gnocchi with the same sause and by that charging double for the dish, etc.)
Review 16:The location is good with easy access to the beach, you can chose from two beaches which are quite private or can drive to a bit further one with some facilities. It is a bit steep walk so for small children or elders not that easy to take every day.
Review 17:If you don't have a car, it is very difficult to reach the hotel. There is no Wifi in the rooms
Review 18:The hotel is in a very beautiful place, front of the sea.
Review 19:EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!
Review 20:I love everything from the Hotel. The staff is amazing, they care a lot about the confort of the client and they are really helpful. It has an amazing view. The food is really good. You can go walking to the beaches and it was an amazing experience because you can enjoy many different and beautiful landscapes on the way. I totally recommend it! :)
Review 21:The breakfast was a bit poor. wifi worked only in the hotel lobby.
Review 22:The view from the room and from the restaurant. The location, very quiet, and in the most beautiful part of the island. The staff was very polite and helpful.
Review 23:Private beach is not a beach, there are only big stones and rocks and ther's no chance to lay down or even sit. If you have reservation via booking.com you have no breakfast just only coffe and croisant and if you want to use the bufet you must pay an extra charge. Even if you decide to pay for this, there's nothing eatable, only cakes, that you can buy in the nearest shop. Ham was not fresh and tasted awful. The next case are hours of breakfast and dinner. The owners are very strict about the time of the meals. Breakfast was only from 8:00 to 09:30 and if we were at 09:20 we usually don't get even these croisants. We had to go to St. Andrea to the bar near the beach to eat somenthing for the breakfast.
Review 24:great view from the balcony and the restaurant terrace, delicious dinners private, free of charge parking, towels changed every day
Review 25:The hard road over the mountain to get. there.
Review 26:The terrace with spectaculair views. The manager Super Mario. The food from the A la carte menu. The walking path to Marciana Maritima. Everything
