Reviews for Villa Nottola
Review 1:I reserved a suite which was supposed to include a dining table, toaster, coffee maker etc, and a pool or garden view, Where we were placed was a delux room with a view of a wall and not table, toasters etc. Asked owner about this he said we were in a suite. Bull - the suites were at the rear of the property. Also, major road runs past front of property about 75 feet away. Loud road noise from 4am until 10pm. Do not stay here
Review 2:The wine
Review 3:Great staff, beautiful winery tour & tasting. Beautiful view from our room and the restaurant was delicious. Alfredo made us feel at home. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer!
Review 4:excellent place and service and close to a great great town - highly recommended if you want to see real italy without the overhead of foreign tourists crowding
Review 5:WiFi not in room and spotty in public areas
Review 6:Staff very friendly and so helpful Large, clean and comfortable room Wonderful breakfast Excellent restaurant on site Scenic location just outside Montepulchiano Great wine and tour of winery
Review 7:Loved everything!!!
Review 8:Distance to montepulciano center which was 8-10 minutes away. Distance to Pienza center which was 15 minutes away. With free wine tour & wine tasting, & most of all Alfredo was the best- very accommodating & very helpful & has the patience of a saint.
Review 9:the only thing we could think of, is that the wifi does not work in all the rooms.
Review 10:great location. beautiful landscape. easy to reach. the owner makes wine, honey, jam, olive oil on the place. super breakfast!! very nice staff.
Review 11:Our room had an amazing view of the countryside! The restaurant attached was very good. The wine was excellent, especially the Anterivio IGT! The owners, great people!
Review 12:Noisy at times...next to a busy road. Internet not available in room, had to go to a central area to use, and that wasn't always very strong
Review 13:Clean and spacious rooms! Nice to have the patio to relax with a glass of wine.
Review 14:The location was perfect and absolutely beautiful! The included breakfast was wonderful and had a generous assortment. The pool was perfect on a hot sunny day in Tuscany.
Review 15:Whilst close to montepulciano this place is right next to an industrial looking building and right by a busy road- our room gave right onto that road making it noisy. The rooms are big, but sparse and ours smelt moldy. This is functional, but not charming at all and I think you can get more for this amount in the region.
Review 16:The staff was very friendly, and the hotel was very nice. The breakfast had lots of variety and was very tasty. The location of the hotel was good for those looking for a home base from which to tour the various hill towns. The restaurant on site was very good as well.
Review 17:Nothing.
Review 18:We were given a private wine tasting. The location and setting is stunning, The father and son team who run the villa are exceptional at their jobs.
Review 19:I think the A.C. was working but we couldn't get it to work. Maybe, the instructions would be helpful in the room.
Review 20:Owners were really sweet. We were catered to a special vegetarian / vegan breakfast.
Review 21:I liked everything
Review 22:The place is wonderful - the views were amazing, food at the restaurant and wine were perfect. Great experience even for one night stay.
Review 23:Single downside is the internet, that is only available in some public areas and speed is average.
Review 24:Everything at Villa Nottola is excellent. Very authentic. Calm and romantic place, just 5 minute drive to Montepulcciano.
Review 25:The train station should have a taxi company.
Review 26:The location was beautiful and the staff were very accommodating with everything. The ristorante on site was exquisite. I had the veal and my wife had gnocchi both were superb. We attended the montepulciano city center wine tasting and Villa Nottola won my vote for best vino. By the end of our trip we purchased a case of vino and we plan on more future purchases.
Review 27:Bed was too soft for our liking
Review 28:Really excellent service from the family owners - nothing was too much trouble and they were very helpful at recommending places to visit, dishes to try and even running routes in the local area. We also loved the villa itself - beautiful old buildings that are very well maintained.
Review 29:The restaurant food was average and its location i believe was not the best since it could have had an excellent view instead of the cars having thd best view, also, it did not have a nice ambiance, lots of light whereas low candle light would have worked brilliantly
Review 30:WiFi was free, but our room / cottage did not have the range.
Review 31:The staff was very friendly. The host was very informative. Everything was very clean, including the pool. For kids, the pool was a hit feature. The food in restaurant was very delicious. The restaurant staff was very friendly and courteous. The overall appearance of the villa was very Tuscan / rustic which we really liked. Rooms were super spacious and very clean, and had electric plugs / outlets on every wall which was very convenient.
Review 32:Nothing!
Review 33:Fantastic villa! My family was hosted by gentlemanly Alfredo, thank you. There is a marvellous view of classic Tuscany. Nice red wine... In sum, two thumbs up!
Review 34:it's minor - very poor WiFi reception
Review 35:Beautiful place, friendly staff, close to Montepulciano. Breakfast is very fresh and good, swimming pool in hot days helps a lot. Will come back for sure.
Review 36:That we had to leave
Review 37:The wine tasting by Alfredo was Fantastic, interesting and very tasty. The rooms are so beautiful, the pictures really don't do them justice. The location is in a perfect spot, close to montepulciano, but far enough that You are in a quiet place
Review 38:The villa staff and amenities were wonderful! I highly recommend this accommodation for anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of Tuscany!
Review 39:- the matress is not comfortable - there was no hot water in the late evening
Review 40:- the sight is breath-taking - the staff are very friendly - the wine is great
Review 41:Nothing
Review 42:Very friendly and helpful staff. Loved the pool and availability of lunch and dinner at accomodation overlooking the grapevines. Free wifi but not in room. Excellent food and breakfast was amazing. Not far from the sites of Montelpuciano by car.
Review 43:Air conditioner only issued warm air no wifi in rooms limited coverage elsewhere
Review 44:Pool, food in the restaurant is good, but service poor, bill inaccurate (extra items added) however it is separate from the hotel
Review 45:The noise from the restaurant until late can be problem at times if your room is nearby.
Review 46:Staff are very friendly and helpful like making suggestions of restaurants and places to go to in the area. The property is beautiful and there is a lovely pool to swim in in an olive grove. The view from our room of the Tuscan countryside was stunning. You can do wine tasting and a tour of the winery.
Review 47:The rooms were a bit utilitarian and very dark. Occasionally difficult to find staff. 1 tiny piece of soap for 2 people for 3 days! Had to ask for pool towels, which seemed to be a bit of a problem. We thoroughly enjoyed the food at the on-site restaurant, which is a separate business, apparently.
Review 48:The pool was nice, though the barking dog (on the owner's balcony?) didn't add to the enjoyment. The wine tour/tasting was well worth the cost, and enjoyable.
Review 49:It was really nice holiday in Montepulciano. Villa Nottola is one of the best place where you can feel typical Tuscany ambience. In our opinion the most important role in this place perform Mr Alfred with his wife. They are amazing - very friendly and helpful. We really recommend this place!
Review 50:Alfredo and the rest of the staff were all so very kind and helpful! The facilities are all perfectly maintained and very clean. The pool is beautiful and we enjoyed two great dinners at the restaurant on the property that over looks the vineyards and is great for sunsets!
Review 51:A great combination of a hotel and a small winery if you want to do a wine tour. The room was excellent and quite huge for Italy. Windows on two sides had nice views. The pool was a bonus. The staff were beyond excellent and had great music for breakfast. We stayed an extra night even. The Restaurant at the site was great on the Friday night. Very close and easy to get to Montepulciano.
Review 52:Very high quality, comfortable and clean. We had spent only one night but definitely comeback later. Dinner was great with a Tuscan view. The only dissappointment is the wi-fi.
Review 53:Be sure to ask for a room in the upper floor. Ground level rooms are dark and not so nice.
Review 54:Excellent location near Montepulciano, nice room with a view of vineyards, good restaurant on property.
Review 55:AC didn't work. Slight musty odor in hallway to bathroom
Review 56:Friendliness of hosts and staff. Great pool. Location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Nice restaurant as part of the property.
Review 57:Would like WiFi in the rooms, not just the one small sitting room area in the hotel. Also -- wish that there were wine maps of wineries in the area available.
Review 58:Alfredo was great, informative and entertaining.
Review 59:A car was necessary.
Review 60:Everything, the place was beautiful, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the accommodation and surrounding area were stunning.
Review 61:Wi-Fi works only on the reception. Montepulciano is reachableonly by car.
Review 62:Exceptionally clean! Room is made up every day! Room was big andstylish. Hosts are very welcoming, their labrador Margo is super kind :)Breakfast is not only good, but also different every day. Poolwasn't working during our stay, but it looks very big and cool, situated among olive trees. Restaurant in the Villa is good and notexpensive. The owner of the restaurant is a great guy! :) Woulddefinitely come back!
Review 63:A wonderful and very scenic location. Alfredo and family are really superb and helpful. Do try their wine tour- really worth it. We will definitely return and stay for a longer period.
Review 64:There is one thing - the local road is really busy.. and the first tractor driver starts his engine at fi ve in the morning, which is exactly what country folk should do... but... five in the morning is about the time you need to close yr windows! Everything else is perfect. It might also be that all I have said goes for aptsrooms facing the road, though.. But I still loved Villa Nottola.. a really great place!!!
Review 65:farm, Alfredo, the owner, vineyards, attitude, room, views, wine - all gorgeous
Review 66:First of all the hosts are amazing. Alfredo makes sure you find the little treasures in the area as well as gives a wonderful education on wine. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Our dog loved roaming around in the vineyard. Restaurant was lovely with good selection of local cuisine. We will come back soon!
Review 67:Probably the fact that the internet can be used only in public area, but hey, you're in a very beautiful Tuscan villa and countryside, enjoy the moment and the conversation with real people instead.
Review 68:I've had the best time in Italy at Villa Nottola. Apart from a beautiful place, we were touched by the whole family who run the property. On top of that, the wine and olive oil there are so great! Too bad we got to spent so little time there, so there will definitely be a next time :-)
Review 69:Breakfast could be better: there's a nice assortment but unfortunately not everything is self-prepared: jams for example are industrial ones, would be better to have higher qualities ones, as well as the cake. And there is no bar, but only an automatic coffee machine for espresso, cappuccino and so on... quite sad in such a wonderful setting and location.
Review 70:Wonderful location, on the way to Montepulciano (10 minutes by car), surrounded by green hills and vineyard. The winery is in the same garden and the landlord took us for a guided tour during which he explained how they make their wines. Rooms are very large and with classic/countryside furbishment. The restaurant is cozy and very good and since you sleep in the b&b you get a 15% discount. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Review 71:Situated on small vineyard- had very informative tour of the vineyard which was very enjoyable. Would recommend dinner at la bottle piena in Montefollonica- delicious, and full of locals.
Review 72:The room heating was inflexible and could not be changed from air-conditioning to heating in September even though the weather was rather cool for the time of year. However we were rapidly supplied with an extra heater to make up for this!
Review 73:Alfredo and his wife and staff were really welcoming and informative about the local area, and made good suggestions about places to visit etc. They also went out of their way to provide us with a kettle for tea-making in our room, though this was not supplied as standard. Breakfasts were good and the on-site restaurant fine with a traditional Tuscan menu and helpful service. Altogether a very enjoyable stay..
Review 74:A little be cold when we were stayed into the room and no air conditioning during the time, the quilt is little thin.
Review 75:He arranged the day tour into his own vineyard which we comprehended so much about the wine and grape.
Review 76:Charming Italian countryside property in the middle of the vineyard . Very welcoming staff. Great pool. The room was spacious with many country home features. The bathroom was huge. Very clean. The breakfast was excellent with a large choice and homemade cakes. The onsite restaurant is a must serving delicious italyan food and own produced wine.
Review 77:Staff could not be more helpful. Alfredo a great host. Wine tour included - which was excellent. Beautiful location and close to many tuscan towns and villages.
Review 78:a bit remote the lawnmower kept me up at night, but the staff did turn it off the second night
Review 79:beautiful buildings lovely welcoming staff great wine tasting great suggestions for activities with rainy weather beautiful surroundings (montepulciano is stunning)
Review 80:This Villa was wonderful. Beautiful setting with great views. The restaurant was fantastic, the food was amazing! The breakfast buffet was to die for. I will return and would highly recommend this villa to anyone...
Review 81:Beautiful location, stunning view on Montepulciano Lovely swimming pool Very relaxing atmosphere Very friendly staff Breakfast exceeded our expectations
Review 82:very weak internet reception at the reception No Internet in the vicinity and rooms as well
Review 83:stunning location friendly and warm-hearted lady at the reception unforgettable evening and night at the swimming pool among olive trees and with a bottle of absolutely unique red vino de nottola
Review 84:Nottola is producing only one type of white wine beside lot's on red wines :-)
Review 85:Great athmosphere, stylish, very friendly service and....no Russian tourists (probably due to fact there are no terrible outlets like in Rimini)
Review 86:Very friendly hosts; catered to my dietary needs. Superb breakfast! Restaurant on site was also excellent. Convenient location. Rooms were spacious and spotless. I'd highly recommend it, and I'd return.
Review 87:Everything was prefect for us, we stayed at many different places during our trip in Itay, Villa Nottola was the best. Very clean and comfort, very helpful staffs.
