Reviews for Albergo Duomo
Review 1:The location was very good... Service was excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms and amenities were clean and comfortable. Rates were very reasonable. I highly recommend Albergo Duomo to anyone visiting Montepulciano!
Review 2:Nice place with great location right off the main square at the top of the town. Room was not large but was perfectly adequate for a stay of a couple nights. Several restaurants within easy walking distance.
Review 3:A bit hard to find when first arriving by car.
Review 4:Great location, free parking close by, helpful friendly staff, lovely terrace to sit and have a BYO Chianti or two.
Review 5:They were shooting a movie while we were there and the staff for the mgm were rude and pushy.
Review 6:Love everything about the hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Great atmosphere!!!
Review 7:The room we had was a bit on the dark side. It was great for sleeping, but for reading, not so good.
Review 8:The staff had good recommendations for places to eat! The outside patio was lovely to sit at. I emailed for detailed directions for parking and the response was perfect. We found the parking with no issues.
Review 9:The Only problem was that there is no parking there was a garage about five blocks away and this was a real pain if you had a lot of luggage
Review 10:It was close to shopping restaurants and cultural activities in the heart of the historic center of Como loved the area loved this place
Review 11:The hotel was located in the center of the beautiful village of Montepulciano and we had the possibility to park close by. The room was big, clean and with a nice view. The staff was friendly and gave us good suggestions.
Review 12:Wonderfull little hotel, where the crew of movie The Twilight Saga: New Moon were staying during filming. Why? because location is just few steps away from Piazza Grande and numerous historic wine cellars and shops. Good thing is that you have free parking nearby. Staff was great, wery helpful with hints what to do and where to eat.
Review 13:Room main door seemed to make a bit of a bang when closed, however carefully done. Wasn't woken by others' doors though.
Review 14:The hotel is very well located just a minute's walk from the main piazza, with numerous restaurants and enoteca nearby. Comfortable, large room with controllable aircon and fridge, nice view over rooftops to distant hills. Good, though not secure, car parking - reserved spaces in a small public carpark 2 minutes walk away. Helpful staff.
Review 15:Furnishings rather old which makes one feel uncomfortable even though they've kept the hotel clean. Bed is shaky & mattress thin! Shower is a tiny semi circular cubical!
Review 16:Hotel has designated parking.
Review 17:The rooms echo badly. While I definitely felt private in my room I could hear everything in the echoing corridor outside-lots of rattling suitcases and conversations.
Review 18:The town is picture perfect and the hotel is right in the centre.
Review 19:Although the staff warned us, and provided a parking pass for a local lot, we got a parking ticket during checkin for waiting too long.
Review 20:Location-location-locatipn
Review 21:Intermittent WiFi was our only issue
Review 22:This beautiful hotel has an excellent location in a charming hill town. The staff was very friendly and worked very hard to be sure all your needs were met. They were especially helpful in planning our journey by public transportation to Volterra. Although it was a difficult trip, there were few surprises.
Review 23:Bed was extremely uncomfortable and creaked loudly anytime we moved. Walls are thin and allow all sound through. Our room had a 6 inch step into the bathroom. Note: there are several steps to get into the building. Not suitable for those who cannot get out of their wheelchairs.
Review 24:Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is quiet. Has a lift / elevator (room for only 1 person plus wheelchair.)
Review 25:A sudden change of weather made the reception area a welcome spot for a glass of wine, interesting books and conversation. A most enjoyable nearby restaurant, a beautiful art exhibit at the castle, and a stroll among the shops made a terrific day.
Review 26:a bit narrow shower cabin.
Review 27:friendly staff. perfect location a minute walk from the main square. Very comfortable parking 2 minutes from the hotel. Very nice room with a ceiling in the form of a dome. The hotel has a small cozy back yard full of flowers.
Review 28:Just one staff member (I won't identify him/her) with a bit of an attitude and a chip on their shoulder spoilt an otherwise pleasant stay at this comfortable, value-for-money hotel. Unfortunately, because of the likelihood of having to deal with this one person again if I were to ever stay at Albergo Duomo, for this reason I probably shall not stay at this hotel again, even though I am a frequent visitor to Montepulciano and otherwise love this hotel. In fact, after staying at Albergo Duomo for two nights, I ended up deciding to stay an extra night in Montepulciano, but elected to change hotels rather than stay an extra night in Albergo Duomo … just because of this one person who is a distinct liability for this otherwise good-to-excellent hotel.
Review 29:Excellent value for money, excellent location with excellent staff (with just the one exception that spoilt the overall experience, unfortunately). The ability to park my car quite close to the hotel in a free car park was a facility well appreciated.
Review 30:Place had a 'dusty' feel about - it was beautiful and the rooms pleasant, but that it needed a bit of a once-over clean. Otherwise, highly recommend this hotel in all aspects.
Review 31:The hotel was is a lovely position near the central piazza - close walk to beautiful views of Tuscany. When we arrived, we were met by a friendly lady who instantly directed us to parking and helped us with our rooms, and other questions about the hotel and the region. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was worth the 5Euros, lots of options (especially as we were vegetarian) and fresh - and the hotel itself very quaint, the room a reasonable size (though not large) and comfortable.
Review 32:absolutely notning, one of my best stays in italy
Review 33:Central location (just about 50m to the main square), very helpful staff, great breakfast. It has its own parking lot.
Review 34:Keep in mind that he rooms are very small, which was not a issue for me at all. The view made me extremely happy!!
Review 35:OMG! The view is absolutely wonderful. This hotel lived up to the pictures on the Internet, plus more! I could spend hours on my balcony or in bed with the doors wide open watching the boats or just listening to the waves crash on the rocks below while reading a book or napping. Swimming off the rocks was blissful. I highly recommend dining at Il Vicoletto, with charismatic Chef Antonio!! Molto bellissimo! Diego at the front desk was very helpful with any questions. Grazie! Can't wait to come back.
Review 36:Every thing was great!
Review 37:Very special place in the old town. Breakfast was good and wholesome with good coffee. The hotel has it's own beautiful restaurant in the same block, which is Michelin rated. We could see why and went there both nights of our stay. Very well priced with excellent food and wine, with outstanding service from professionals.
Review 38:Lots of mosquitos - lack of mosquito protector on windows, Matress a bit too soft
Review 39:Perfect location, Nice breakfast, Elevator, Helpful receptionists, Large bathroom, Easy and free parking outside the city walls with hotel permission
Review 40:The building is very echo - and the locks are very loud (sounds strange?!)...but they do make a lot of noise. I would still stay there again though.
Review 41:The location is excellent, the room was spotless, and even though I had a room on the stretch it was very quiet. The staff were also very helpful.
Review 42:Not a bad stay but not worth the price. Place is old and has not been maintained. Needs a good painting job!
Review 43:Staff was nice enough to permit a date modification at the last minute.
Review 44:Simply everything was perfect.
Review 45:I can only recommend this place that gave a lot of charm to the overall stay in Montepulciano. Location was excellent, in the middle of the city. Special spot for the car which makes the life much easier in the tiny roads city centre. Even we stayed just for one night the staff was very friendly. Wi-fi worked well all over the hotel.
Review 46:Our room was large on the top floor (3rd I think), with a nice view of the area. I didn't want to leave the room but there was a concert nearby so we enjoyed great music and slept in the next day.
Review 47:Asked for a double room with a double bed, but got a double room with twin beds put together, it was not very comfortable.

Review 106:- Great staff, very helpful - Rooms are spacious and clean
Review 107:Many thanks to Saverio, the owner of the hotel, for his great help with our car. Somewhere in the middle on the way to Monte Amiata we had a broken car tire and he has organized a towing service, which brought us back to Montepulciano where we got a new car tire. That was really great. Nice, comfortable house in the middle of Montepulciano. Cute owners. Have given us good advice for dinner. I would recommend this house with a clear conscience.
Review 108:Great location. Saviero and his sister were great hosts and very helpful. Comfortable room, beautiful terrace and delicious breakfast with eggs, fruit, and unlimited cappuccinos
Review 109:Absolutely nothing. I can't find anything negative to say about this hotel and the location. It was lovely.
Review 110:This hotel is right in the centre of the town. It is in a lovely location, in my opinion, the best town in Tuscany. The views from the town are amazing and there are lots of places to walk and see the views from. It is very peaceful and relaxing. The hotel was clean and easy to find. The hotel has spaces reserved in the town car park which is only about 70 yards away - a 1 minute walk (down the hill to the right as you come in to the town)! I've read a few reviews which complained about the distance from the hotel to the car park - I can't see how anyone could complain about the distance. If you have lots of bags and can't carry them all at once from the car park to the hotel, make two trips - it will take you 5 minutes! It was family run and the man who we saw (sorry can't remember his name) was very helpful and friendly. He spoke great English and was keen to help us make the most of our stay - i.e. recommending a restaurant (Osteria Acquacheta which I would also recommend) and he even booked us a table! We didn't book breakfast when we make the reservation through the website but we were able to add this for 5euros each which was worthwhile - offering a choice of pastries, bread, cheese, ham, fruit etc. and nice coffee. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Review 111:the beds were way to firm for us...that was the one and only thing....thanks for being there for my daughter and I from Canada :)

Review 123:driving through the narrow streets. Make sure to park up first and find the hotel on foot. Hotel has a great car park.
