Review 2：large roomy family home run by a lovely family, very close to a great beach with a restaurant on the beach. very good breakfast at the villa, nice gardens, very relaxing place, would have liked to stay a lot longer. i would highly recommend this villa.

Review 3：Beauty and Berty's place is one of the last colonial buildings in the area. It has been lovingly maintained since his grandfather's time and survived the 2004 tsunami. The garden is lush and full of birds. Beauty showed me the plants that had gone into the previous nights dinner. Their modest business in accepting guests helps them to send their son Dinuka to school. What a wonderful Sri Lankan experience to spend time in this place. Much recommended!

Review 4：Great location and a colonial, artistic look and feel. Our hosts were quite friendly, escorted us to a nearby beach and help us spot huge turtle at an aquarium. We stayed for a day and overall was excellent.

Review 5：We thought we had booked a 3 bedroom villa to ourselves for 2 weeks but this was not the case. We confirmed with the management via email that we would get this but it did not happen. We were sharing the place with another guest aswell as the owner and her husband. The lady who owns the guesthouse will be following you around turning every possible plug of behind you. I understand electricity is expensive but it's a bit excessive to walk into our room without asking after I've just walked out to turn the fan off. Also, if you book as a couple expect to be able to use only 1 fan and 1 light between you as anymore is based on more people paying. She felt it necessary to show us an electricity bill. I don't see the reason for this as we are paying guests and the room charge covers all these bills. The kitchen has very basic utensils and we also had to clean the fridge when we got there as it was filthy. The owner also felt the need to tell us how much the gas cost, almost as though we were expected to pay for it. Your room is swept daily but the shared bathroom was not cleaned once during our 2 weeks stay nor was the kitchen. Don't expect a beach front villa as listed as it's not. It does state in the description that it's 800 metres to the beach but the term 'Beach front villa' is a bit misleading. I don't want all this to sound so negative but unfortunately the disappointment of not getting a private 3 bedroom villa clouded the view of our time here. I would like people to know what to expect so they won't be disappointed.

Review 6：We were confirmed by email that a separate apt. with non-shared bathroom would be provided with addition free separate driver's accommodation. We got surprised with that facilities in such small amount, so confirmed through a phone call directly to the property from India. After reaching there, the property denied to provide all those things and also denied about those emails. Our driver had to manage an accommodation at that night after a long driving that was even 14Kms away from our stay. Though the property owner behaved so well in the next morning while we were leaving, still they were denying the fact of promising to provide those facilities.

Review 10：It is a big colonial style house with a huge garden, packed with exotic animals (monkeys, varans, mongoose, peacock). The hosts are just great while the traditional Sri Lankian breakfast is superb. The ocean is only 100 meters away. We stayed for two weeks, did not get bored in any moment. Excellent price to quality ratio, highly recommended!

Review 13：its a big, lovely, old house with a beautiful garden in the near from the sea. We loved the sounds of the different animals around us. We saw a lot of monkey, goannas and birds... The kitchen is good equipped - you can cook there. The breakfast is big, very good and traditional. The family is very, very nice!!

Review 17：ahungalla beach is not good for swimming due to the current. you can take a bus/tuk-tuk to balapitiya though. bathroom not directly accessable from the room.
