Reviews for Palazzo Carletti
Review 1:Hard to carry the bags to the hotel. Poor isolation. You can hear all sound from the kitchen early in the morning that might disturb you.
Review 2:Location in the very center. Helpful staff. Rooms from 16 century decoration.
Review 3:The staff is kind and the building alone is worth the stay, especially if you book the room with the private steam bath which makes it ideal for visiting montepulciano in winter. Wide choice of food for breakfast and free wifi. The bed and breakfast is located on the main road of montepulciano and it is very close to the bus stop. Highly recommended if you can afford it.
Review 4:The facility was not open when we arrived so we had to wait 2 hours to get in. There was limited staff...so no one to help with luggage& no staff person around the morning we checked out; therefore no breakfast which was part of our plan
Review 5:The charm of the old structure inside the medieval walls was stunning. It was also nice that there was complimentary bar cart for the guests use
Review 6:Parking area is at 10' walking distance
Review 7:Excellent renovated palazzo in the heart of Montepulciano! Fantastic comfortable room with elegant decoration and superb facilities. Privacy guaranteed for couples as children's room is on the attic.
Review 8:We enjoyed staying in the Palazzo. The hospitality and service is appreciated. As gorgeous as the website had promised. We felt like a prince and princess.
Review 9:Mansion from the 1700s, converted into a a high quality B&B and run by amazingly nice and friendly staff. Must stay there if you go to Montepulciano and see all the different rooms and bathrooms beautifully renovated with high class interior design taste. Breakfast was excellent, with a lot of variety of food, for all tastes! Will definitely recommend.
Review 10:From car park to hotel impossible with luggage had to get a taxi. Should have been informed. No staff on site from 6 at night till 7 in the morning. Lots of little things not right Will check thoroughly facilities if booking with you again
Review 11:A bathroom that looked like a bordello. Very odd bedroom set up in which you could not see the TV from the bed and most of a very large space was wasted. Parking several hundred metres away down a very rough path.
Review 12:Original friezes and elegant reception area
Review 13:45 deg (it seemed like) trip up to the street 3 person shower ? Never figured out the side jets No CNN
Review 14:Spectacular breakfast room Equally spectacular and large room Good but cold breakfast Free parking (once you find the lot)
Review 15:There is no elevator or lift but that is to be expected in a 400 year old building.
Review 16:The facilities are fantastic! This place is outstanding! This is by far the best B&B we have ever stayed in and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Review 17:The double jacuzzi bath was great and a lovely large bathroom but the bath didn't work!
Review 18:Lovely location and beautiful interiors - we were in the suite.
Review 19:We stayed in the deluxe double with steam bath and loved it everything about it. The room is unique, beautifully decorated (just look up) and is well equipped. I find most hotels disappointing, but Palazzo Carletti is superb. We had the good fortune to stay whilst the Bravio Delle Botti 2015 took place. Having a balcony in our room really paid off, as we had the perfect view away from the crowds.
Review 20:Breakfast was average but expected this from prior reviews and the location was so central you could go to other places for breakfast.
Review 21:Room and the view was excellent. Large and very modern bathroom which can be unusual for this type of property.
Review 22:The main area was warm so it wasn't very good for our group to hangout at the end of the day. The cooling of the rooms was marginal at best. One of the room had no a/c for two days. The number given to call for problems was never answered. The other person came in after two days and said there was an error in the system and quickly went into her computer and fixed it.
Review 23:This was a great location. You are in the middle of it all. I liked the personal feel that you get with only five rooms. The ice maker in room is nice. The setup for breakfast was great. You get up and they take care of everything. Both workers were nice but one was so much better. I would stay here again.
Review 24:Nil
Review 25:This was a great B&B to end our stay in Italy . The location great and more than happy with our room. What you see in the advertised photos is what you get.I would recommend this B&B and the town is well worth a visit when holidaying in Italy.
Review 26:It's so nice ti stay here and we had a wonderful experience in this historical house. Many thanks for your kindly service and great support for everything! We will definitely come again!
Review 27:room with no view; price included 15 minutes telephone use but the telephone had been unplugged. looks great in the photos but my room was strangely claustrophobic despite its size
Review 28:air conditioning in room; refreshments in mini bar
Review 29:Fantastic hotel in the heart of the town. Everything was perfect. Wifi working very well and the staff was very helpful and nice. Breakfast was good with plenty of food.
Review 30:Pillows were a little rough as was the mattress.
Review 31:The place is like something out of a story book. Medieval palace with a hotel on the second floor. While the building retains much of its old charm, the washrooms look like something out of a contemporary design magazine.
Review 32:Our incredibly large suite had an amazing view of the Tuscan countryside. Melania, the front desk manager, was very friendly and helpful with great recommendations for dinner. Make sure you read the emails that you will get before your stay, which will contain very, very important information regarding parking to avoid driving onto the hilly, narrow streets of Montepulciano (NOT a good idea).
Review 33:The window between the bathroom & the bedroom needs an window treatment that can be lowered - just a suggestion
Review 34:The location, though difficult to find, was worth the effort! Our room was in a subdued cream-colored palette - just what I'd hoped for. The balcony & view (towards the east) was wonderful - breakfast in the gorgeous lobby a treat!
Review 35:That we are old and did not enjoy the steep hills and the steps that make Montepulciano special.
Review 36:It was everything we were looking for in an old city like Montepulciano. The manageress was welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. Too bad we only stayed 1 night
Review 37:The view of our room was to a wall. The sound of the computers servers could be listened inside our room The breakfast could have more variety The parking place is not close for someone with luggage and taking the car to the hotel is mission impossible
Review 38:The room was really cozy. We felt in a 15 century building, in yet comfortable. The shower was fantastic. The bar was fully included
Review 39:The view was amazing. We had a double hot tub in our suite which was amazing. Breakfast is served when you want it just steps from your living room.
Review 40:Missing only two things during the entire stay: freshly squeezed orange juice and a freshly baked croissant "con la crema", both at breakfast.
Review 41:Fantastic place right in the centre of Montepulciano. Especially nice the moment when the breakfast was delivered in the room...The minibar is included in the price of the room and each room has its espresso machine.
Review 42:The property is difficult to find if you are driving and if you are not travelling light it may be a challenge to lug your luggages up the floors to the reception of the hotel on the second floor of the building (there are no lifts)
Review 43:The combination of historical architecture combined with modern comforts whenever possible. The property is a really beautiful property with a thoughtful design...the location is also fantastic once you are in
Review 44:Access is a bit impractical
Review 45:Melania runs this gem of a hotel masterfully Location is fabulous Internal facilities are unique Excellent breakfast Home away from home
Review 46:Hotel is on the second floor of a building with no elevator (about 40 steps).Impossible for people with disabilities. Staff is not attending after 7:00 PM. A few hundred meters from the hotel parking lot (25 min limit at the hotel).
Review 47:The setting Suite and facilities Breakfast Centrally located Staff very helpful
Review 48:Only negative was that the double bed was made of two single beds pushed together.
Review 49:Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, fanatastic rooms with high ceilings and frescos, complementary minibar. Really high standard of accommodation and overall an excellent stay.
Review 50:I had always wanted to stay within a walled city. This was amazing because it was also a palace. Beautiful painted ceilings and walls, luxury bath, and views overlooking the history week parade, and dining area views over the countryside. Nearby restaurants referred by the staff were outstanding! We had our dreams fulfilled.
Review 51:Nothing.
Review 52:This was our favorite place out of the 7 hotels we stayed at while in Italy. Melania was friendly, welcoming and helpful- provided us with perfect driving directions to dedicated parking spots close by and made recommendations for nearby restaurants. The palazzo is beautiful, rooms comfortable and quite lovely, fantastic bath, very well equipped. Breakfast very good served in a beautiful room. The location was perfect-close to everything in the charming town of Montepulciano. We stayed 2 nights and wish it could have been more! Highly recommend!
Review 53:Not a good mattress, very saggy and needs to be replaced. Hard to find location the first time
Review 54:Location in the city center Helpful and flexible staff Good recommendations for food and excursions Beautiful views from main room and some guest rooms. Nice, big bathrooms
Review 55:Be warned that the town is full of one way streets and no entry zones. No parking on site although there are a few (free) spaces reserved for hotel guests in a local pay & display car park BUT it's a good 300m UPHILL walk then another 200 m along the cobbles so you absolutely must drop your bags off at the hotel (which we couldn't do as the streets were closed due to a festival) obv not the hotel's fault, but feel this should be mentioned on their website. Out of 4 bookings that day we all apparently got lost trying to find the carpark/hotel so would suggest that the hotel looks at ways to improve the directions they give. Our in room ice machine didn't work- Staff said it would work within 20 mins of turning on, but my hubby said it easily needs 24hrs to cool down & start producing, so maybe need to keep it on all the time?
Review 56:The hotel is part of a huge old building and the room was very nice, well appointed. The hotel's location is very central for wandering around the amazing town of Montepulciano & the reception lady was extremely helpful & accommodating. Mini bar was complimentary as well as tea.coffee facilities.
Review 57:Just small issue - we were close the server room and the cooling was quite noisy hovewer after nice diner and excelent wines, you will drop off anyhow :-)
Review 58:TOP class, the Palazzo is realy noble and you will feel like the prince. Despite the historic frescoes and georgeous interier, the bathroom and other equipment is modern and fanttatsic. It´s even better than on photos. Free minibar, icemaker in the room, bathtube for 2, wifi fast, brekafest in lodge. The Stephanie helped us to find good restaurants - best is the La Pentolaccia is 100m from the Palazzo. Recommedation: by the dinner we found wines from Montemercucio winnery- is 2,5km from the centre of Montepulciano and you should visit them - managed by 2 brothers, who started in 2007 to continue grandpa work. Startes as teenagers and create excelent wines, grapa. Ask them for the story of Vinsanto 1986 and you will see the modern fairy tale.
Review 59:No hlep to carry bags up the stairs to a first floor hotel and no direct access from street. Breakfast very basic
Review 60:Fantastic room in boutique environment
Review 61:One or two elements were designed to look fabulous at the expense of practicality.
Review 62:Great location, beautiful decor and design, very comfortable, excellent service
Review 63:Airconditioner was broken and we could not switch it off. It did notwork in our room but only in the loft room and was directly onto the bedso my poor daughter had to sleep in thick jersey as she was ice cold. There was only 1 staff member who went away in the afternoons for asiesta and left at 7pm in the evenings, so there was no one to contactto help us switch off the airconditioner. Also not allowed to leave oursuitcases in hotel after check out because the staff member goes awayfor her siesta. Unacceptable for a 4 star hotel!
Review 64:Room comfortable, and 18 year old daughter had her own loft room. Eatdinner at Osteria Acquacheta - via del Teatro 22 - brilliant!!
Review 65:The room was stunning with fresco's on the roof and the turkish bath/sauna was exceptional. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the location was brilliant, the recommendations for dinner and visiting wine cellars were spot on
Review 66:The food for the breakfast is not well compared to the nice hotelstandard. The parking area is little bit far.
Review 67:The hotel is in the historic center and very nice traditional/modernroom. Good staff service and helpful for avoiding the ztl.
Review 68:The parking was difficult to find.

Review 104:Notting
Review 105:Super friendly staff. Fantastic room with fresco paintings In the ceiling. Modern and fancy bathroom.
Review 106:The double bed was 2 beds pushed together and they were a little too firm
Review 107:The service and room were amazing. I had several questions and a booking issue, but the concierge was so patient and helpful
Review 108:Parking was better when behind the hotel but the new parking isn't too far and is still free. Would recommend dropping bags at hotel before parking
Review 109:Wonderful rooms and ever so helpful staff in beautiful Montepulciano. Second stay and it won't be the last!
Review 110:Excellent location and beautiful Hotel, one of the finest we have stayed in while visiting Italy. Will definitely return. Wonderful breakfast with beautiful and gracious hostess.
Review 111:The water pressure is a little low. OK for a shower but takes a little to long to fill the bath. Yes, I know we are a pampered couple, but that is why we picked this hotel in the first place :) In any case, I mentioned this to the hotel owners and I hope that they will find a way to fix this minor issue.
Review 112:We loved the splendor of the high ceilings and the Turkish bath that was attached to our room. We also liked the breakfast served in our room every day and the attentiveness to our requests for changes in the contents of what was served. The hotel host was very helpful and helped us book restaurants and plan our trip in the city and surrounding area. Also, just opposite the hotel we dinned at a little pizzeria that is always nice to have if you arrive late. All in all a wonderful and memorable stay.
Review 113:everything really, Perfect hotel in a beautiful location. Very friendly welcome and service. Room was beautiful although we didn't have one with a view over the valley which would have been better. Breakfast was fantastic.
Review 114:Car parking is a drag but the scenery from our room made up for all the luggage dramas!.
Review 115:Oh my goodness everything about Palazzo Carletti was beautiful we stayed an extra night (4) in total could have stayed another night.Christian and Louisa made our visit unforgetable!!! I promise Louisa I wont cry next time when I leave..Montepulciano is a great town...XXX
