Reviews for Ambassador Hotel
Review 1:Excellent Staff and service. We received personalized attention after we were pick-pocketed in Old Jerusalem. The Ambassador Staff helped with all of our requests, including great cheer and kindness. The meals served at the restaurant, bar area, and the buffet are excellent and were priced very reasonably. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of choices. Overall, we had an excellent stay at the Ambassador.
Review 2:Not one thing bad to report!
Review 3:The food was great! All staff were awesome. My room was very comfortable. Lots of parking. No bad surprises. Great Hotel for the money. Nice and quite most of the time. I wish I had booked this hotel for my three weeks in Israel.
Review 4:The staff often took a very long time to attend us when we needed them (specially at the restaurant). The WIFI was down some of the days, and the network did not reach the room we were staying at.
Review 5:The decoration was good and generally clean. The hotel is beautiful and offers great views of the city
Review 6:Literally only 6 parking spots! On a one-way street, if there are nospaces in front, you have to make a 10 minute circle to look for otherparking. Please consider making some parking spaces on your propertysomewhere - maybe in the back.Building needs some serious updating (flooring, lighting, etc.)
Review 7:Room was clean and spacious. Staff was friendly. Food was excellent
Review 8:sometimes slow service; absence of kettle for water boiling in rooms;
Review 9:fitness room functional, fridge in room when requested, friendliness of staff, outside terrace, balcony, quality of food
Review 10:There was ants on the tables, bathroom didn't smell good and wasn't clean enough, one of the girls who worked on the reception till was too sticky and even came the the breakfast room and sat there with her 2 friends/colleges and were talking and laughing too loudly ( that was too annoying)
Review 11:The view
Review 12:I asked twice for a double bed and got two single beds put together with two separate duvets.
Review 13:Saff is very attentive and well trained. Rooms are simple but comfortable. Breakfast is very generous.
Review 14:Seems to be a hub for group tours, sole travellers a definite minority.
Review 15:Comfortable room, peaceful location just our of the centre of the city but only two stops on the light rail (3 minutes walk away).
Review 16:It can get a bit crowded in the open areas as the hotel is near the old city and hosts a lot of tourists. But if you are not hanging around during the day then this is no problem.
Review 17:The staff are great, really friendly and helpful. Very quick laundry service. It is close to the old city.
Review 18:maybe that there was no small store selling newspapers
Review 19:found everything very nice..food also very good...had the fish..& very convenient..I took the tram into the central areas & to the old city
Review 20:nothing really bad, perhaps breakfast could be a little more organised. No tea/coffee facilities in the room.
Review 21:Nice hotel, good location, clean, pretty modern and generally very good staff. Nothing to complain about. Can eat in the bar or restaurant, food was very nice in both.
Review 22:Room is not clean well, hair form previous occupant and during the stay room was not clean. Towels are worn, toiletries poor quality. Wifi unstable and food is of substandard. Wait long time to get serviced in the bar, restaurant, and very inflexible on menu.
Review 23:Location was good for going to where I need to be
Review 24:small details like poor wi-fi in room, poor lighting, no kids chanel on tv
Review 25:the garden and balcony lounge were priceless, wonderful space for kids to run in the perfect grass while parents are having a meal
Review 26:good breakfast and dinner restaurant

Review 28:The bar tender was extremely rude. He completely ignored me while waiting in the queue and served other customers.

Review 44:Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Nothing luxurious but it served its purpose.
Review 45:The first room we got was not so clean, but staff got us a new and much better room imediately. Good hotel, excelent restaurant.
Review 46:Having lived in Jerusalem for a number of years, this hotel was part of our social network. It was as good as we would have expected.
Review 47:very poor wi-fi
Review 48:In the bathroom a lot of cosmetics from the "sea of spa", good breakfast, friendly service
Review 49:The rooms should be upgraded.
Review 50:The outdoor veranda
Review 51:Front desk (Kelly K) was short with me and un intrested in what i had to say. Rude.
Review 52:Clean bright lobby
Review 53:Only a 15 minute walk to the old city. Very friendly/helpful staff. Clean and comfortable
Review 54:Wifi in room was not working well. room is a bit small.
Review 55:Food and wine was good and reasonably priced. Just 15 mins walk from old town.
Review 56:All the hotel staff.
Review 57:Wi fi service was poor.....
Review 58:Internet was no good in the room
Review 59:not too many channels on tv
Review 60:cleanliness,courteous staff, excellent location, decent breakfast
Review 61:the breakfast menue was poor. I am not a smoker and i found it hard at times to enjoy the patio.
Review 62:I love the amount of food for the dollar. The room was very clean but not much view.
Review 63:- Put out the no disturbing sign at night or you are going to be woken up at 8am for some room cleaning!
Review 64:- Very good middle eastern food!- Simple, but nice hotel that offers good value for the money. Nothing fancy
Review 65:If you have problems with mobility (old people), the access to the elevators of the room is very difficult for a wheel chair.
Review 66:The breakfast included, so much things and of very good quality. Ideal location if you have a car, otherwise you can call a taxi (it is not expensive) The view of the city.
Review 67:- Room was dirty, especially in corners, under the table and so on - Officially breakfast goes until 10 am, but already before 9am a lot of the buffet is not being replenished and once all tables have been used for breakfast they don't prepare any new tables unless you specifically ask staff to do so - but then you don't receive a full serve, they only give you a cup a knife and a fork. - The WLAN is utterly dangerous to use. The connection is unsecure and when I connected my notebook it immediately got targeted by hack attempts. While we didn't mind too much (the WLAN was the worst issue, as we needed an internet connection and this one was unusable) and overall had a pleasant stay, the hotel was definitely not worth the prize we had to pay.
Review 68:+ Parking available in the street + easy to access + close to tram line + staff helpful (if you ask them) If the price would have been half of what we paid we would have been satisfied.
Review 69:The staff were so nice and kind to us. The room was very clean. The hotel was very nicely decorated so it was a very nice place to be and relax in. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. I loved my stay there.
Review 70:internet is very slow, the rooms are small ,the beds are very small it is for kids(your grand kids will not even be comfortable there, you need to watch the charges and ask questions !!
Review 71:the staff was very nice and helpful, the food is great
Review 72:Location (15-20 min from the old city on foot), dirty rooms with old furniture, small beds (the bed we were offered is hardly a double bed, most likely a 1,5 bed), chambermaids start cleaning the rooms at 8-8:30
Review 73:Breakfast is quite good, good choice of meal, including fruits
Review 74:We had a problem with the room air con was on too loud and had no way of shutting it off reported the problem at midnight, didn't sleep much at all. The maintenance man came to sort it at 8.30am in the morning which meant going up into the ceiling and adjust the air con from there which suggested some unfinished tests. By then it was too late. I felt the room was 80% ready with towels missing and bin un-emptied with a better prepared room and offer of a slight reduction, I would happily stay for another night. However the holiday traffic, Was another concern as the main road was blocked to the Old city and made getting to that part of the city a bit of a trial making the location a fair one.
Review 75:The view south to the city from breakfast room, breakfast was good, attentive staff, good value for peak season.
Review 76:I had a bit of trouble finding the hotel but I did not have a GPS.
Review 77:I enjoyed my stay very much - the people helpful and professional and the facilities were excellent. The location was great - walking distance to the Old City. The hotel provided excellent value for money - as a Canadian,it was particularly valuable and informative for me to become familiar with the Palistinian mileau - not something we hear enough about in Canada. I look forward to seeing you next time I am in the region. Highly recommend.
Review 78:a bit far from center but you can skip the 20 min walk by taking the tram
Review 79:Staff, quite location (although a bit far from center of the city), great food
Review 80:It is a long ways to walk to the Old City and it's uphill-downhill. The neighborhood that you go through is at times inhospitable. There are no nearby restaurants so in the evening you have to rely on what the hotel offers. The quality of the wait staff was inconsistent. The lack of toilet brushes could be easily fixed
Review 81:The food in the restaurant and at breakfast was varied and ok. The room comfortable, and if you have aroom with a balcony and a view than you have real luck. The reception staff were helpful and friendly
Review 82:Food was not particularly exciting, hotel seems to specialise in in tour groups and corporate events.
Review 83:Helpful ,friendly staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Possibly needing a refurbishment but at the price once can't complain, very convenient for my meetings, tram within walking distance. Will definitely return
Review 84:Twin beds, although we asked for a double bed. Neighborhood was not so nice, since it was isolated from restaurants or bars.
Review 85:The employers were open to change the room although we booked only on short notice. Proximity to the old city is ok.
Review 86:The dining room was cold ( winter , dec 11th - 16th)
Review 87:The hotel is spacious . Our room on the 4th floor was spacious , quiet, with a nice view of Jerusalem and the rising sun. Breakfast excellent
Review 88:ordinary well used room, our room had view on dirty wasteland. Bathroom was leaking, no toilet brush. Difficult to find without GPS. Price way too high for what you get, not worth 4 stars!!
Review 89:Quiet area, about 20 minutes walk to the old town. Nice restaurant and terrace with view over part of the city. The hotel looks mach better from the outside.
Review 90:An established property with "soul". Less than perfect but with a homey atmosphere, very enjoyable altogether. Located in East Jerusalem, it gives you the feel for the "real" city away from politics and glitter. Lovely staff.
Review 91:Good location, friendly staff, clean room, decent fast internet (free), and good breakfast. I also liked the diverse mix of people staying at the hotel for business and leisure.
Review 92:the location is good, I liked my view to the old city. But it is about 25 min to go to the Damascus gate. on the other hand it is healthy to walk a little bit :)
Review 93:I liked everything in this hotel. Staff was friendly, breackfast was good. I liked desighn of the hotel. It looks very good for it's price. Our room was big enough, and it was easy to find.
Review 94:It's a little far from Damascus Gate- it took about 15 minutes towalk it and I'm young and fit, so I don't know how olderpeople would find it. I asked one of the girls on reception to book mea shuttle to the airport and she sighed and told me to do itmyself...thankfully her colleague was happy to do it for me a fewhours later!
Review 95:Hotel was fabulous, rooms were really comfortable, good supply oftoiletries and good selection of tv channels. Breakfast was nice and themajority of staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 96:Receptionist tried to overcharge me but I asked for my bill before Iwould pay and she changed the amount by half. Barefoot off duty staffmember walking around was off putting.
Review 97:Room was nice with a plate of fruit on arrival. Breakfast was okayselection of hot and cold foods - plenty of smoked salmon. Quiet hotelwith nice areas to relax in
Review 98:Friendly staff. Very clean. Excellent breakfast! I mean, excellent! Quaint, cute, great location. One can feel the historic significance. Highly recommend.
Review 99:Little note, probably a ramp from the lobby to the elevator. The same asthe ramp outside to the entrance!!
Review 100:The space of the rooms very good! View on the city as well. Clean andpractical. The menu choice of local specialties on the restaurant menu.Very well taken care for by the waiters! Waiters became very nice afterwe had open chats with them. Compliments to the chef Ahmad!!! The greengarden and tent outside, unique in this corner of dry jerusalem!!! Iwill certainly suggest this place to other friends!!! Ps Parking verygood, free. Thanks.
