Reviews for Villa Cicolina

Review 1:Slow wifi at popular times. Poor cell phone signal. Underwhelmed by the dinner provided on the one night we ate in. The narrow steep steps from the car park would benefit from a handrail and better lighting.

Review 2:Good location with easy access to autostrada. Charming grounds with far reaching views. A short drive from good local restaurants.

Review 3:It was cooler than we would have liked.

Review 4:We loved the staff, location and room. The dining room was beautiful and very well done. The food was excellent. Our host Alijah was so helpful and gracious.

Review 5:A little difficult to find initially. Using the GPS coordinates got us there easily, the address did not.

Review 6:Comfortable bed, gorgeous grounds and a wonderful breakfast. Close to town. I'd recommend this to anyone and everyone!

Review 7:Room on courtyard impossible to rest in daytime and evening, very poor grade English language to- no news station- wouldn't change when requested, charges too high for offer

Review 8:Location, building, garden

Review 9:Nothing! It was perfect.

Review 10:What a gorgeous property with a wonderful staff! A beautiful restaurant to go with it. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Don't miss this one!

Review 11:Tea and coffee making facilities would be nice and/or some complimentary water each day.

Review 12:Our room - the balcone suite- was stunning, with a big four poster bed and a fantastic view from the little balcony.

Review 13:The air conditioning was poor. The bathroom flooded when we had a shower.

Review 14:The room was so beautiful, and the bathroom and the view from it was just stunning. The staff were great.

Review 15:From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and well taken care of. The staff were wonderful and service and quality of meals and facilities were amazing. The area was breathtaking. It was hard to leave.

Review 16:This was one of our favorite hotels in Italy. We would definitely go back. We were on our honeymoon and we were given the suite next to the restaurant and absolutely loved it. The pool is peaceful and has a beautiful view of the countryside. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was great. We also did the private wine tasting at the hotel and enjoyed that as well. We would definitely go back!

Review 17:Air Conditioning in bedroom and dining room could have colder. It probably works well enough when there's not a heat wave.

Review 18:Great customer service -- especially Sayed who gave great recommendations.

Review 19:The property was amazing, tastefully done with a wonderful garden and pool. The staff were at very attentive and the evening meals in the garden were excellent. We couldn't fault this hotel!

Review 20:Breakfast could also be served outside/in the garden.

Review 21:Very nice pool area in the middle of trees with great Toscany view and jakuzi. Dining area is surrounded by trees.Dinner served in-house is delicious to taste local food. No need to go out for dinner. Location: not really walking distance but close to Montepulciano by car - 5 min drive.

Review 22:Not a negative about Villa Cicolina, but be sure to hire a car. If you're on holiday in Tuscany you'll likely be in a rural location & this is no different. A car made all the difference and we would've been stuck without it!

Review 23:Beautiful property and location, attentive staff, very close to Montepulciano and a no more than a couple of hours from Florence, Pisa and Siena. Great restaurants in Montepulciano - you'll never struggle to find somewhere to eat!

Review 24:Quite honestly nothing and I a usually hard to please!

Review 25:The pool area was tranquil and bohemian. Our room was exceptional and historic with a mattress to die for. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast! Um could keep going really...

Review 26:The staff was amazing and the hotel was everything we wanted. It was a really nice treat, without being super modern. Felt very nice, while still feeling genuinely tuscan -- a harder thing to find in tuscany than one would expect.

Review 27:Nothing!

Review 28:We stayed 2 nights for my birthday and fell in love at first sight! Magnificent gardens, beautiful room with private garden, fabulous pool with panoramic views, lovely restaurant and excellent breakfast!

Review 29:We ordered a steak Florentine for dinner and it was well done. It was one of our worst meals on the trip. In my opinion, the steak should not have been put on a sizzling platter. It was done before they brought it out.

Review 30:It was a beautiful property and very calm. We did a private wine tasting with a young woman from the region. It was a great experience.

Review 31:We had the gorgeous Vigna suite at the back on the ground floor, formerly the stables. It was perfect and delightfully cool at night. Bed was super comfy and breakfast in the morning was fine although only eggs cooked. Evening meals were delicious and good value in the beautifully renovated dining room

Review 32:Nothing bad but our A/C did not work at all the first night and worked only marginally better after it was fixed.

Review 33:The rooms were comfortable and spacious. The property was beautiful, gardens, pool and view. There were plenty of outside sitting areas and the views of the Tuscan countryside were "postcard like". Breakfast and dinner were very good. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Review 34:My only very small complaint was the bed in our junior suit was only a queen bed would have been a little better if it was a king. But this is only very minor.

Review 35:Picture perfect around every corner. Every detail has been thought of. Just a stunning place to stay. The staff were fantastic!

Review 36:The staff were all most helpful and gracious. The dining experience was memorable both for the food and a the excellent service. The garden and the pool setting were superb.

Review 37:The staff, setting and accommodations were way beyond our expectations. The property had so many beautiful spots to relax and take in the natural beauty of the area.

Review 38:The bed was a little bit to soft but that would be the only negative.

Review 39:We loved everything about our villa. It had gorgeous views of the countryside. The gardens were amazing with a wonderful relaxing hammock. Infinity pool - although too cold for us to use. Plenty of chairs around the pools. The breakfast was good with a wide range of meats, cereal, fruit etc. the staff were all friendly and helpful. Overall it was a wonderful stay.

Review 40:nothing

Review 41:Stunning location, fabulous staff, comfortable rooms. We highly recommend you take the time to do a cooking course with MeMo, great fun, and a wonderful meal to finish a great day with.

Review 42:We did not rent a car so the walk to town was a bit farther then we would have liked, but taxis are available. Still not a bad walk, just uphill.

Review 43:Cooking class was excellent, bed was the best we slept in Italy. Breakfast and dinner was delicious.

Review 44:Nothing at all!!!!

Review 45:Location was lovely with a beautiful views over tuscany. The junior suite we stayed in was spacious and beautifully decorated. Service was fantastic in every way possible, they went out of there way to help us in any way. All food was delicious, as was the wine. I would highly recommend the 4 course meal and wine tasting.

Review 46:The villa could be the perfect location for a movie. It felt like going back in time. The garden with the swimming pool is simply amazing, quiet with a great view. The staff is extremely friendly. Even our dog Lucy felt immediately at ease at the Villa Cicolina.

Review 47:Mosquitos - bring insect repellant!

Review 49:The staff, room, pool, gardens and food were all outstanding. The hammock between the olive trees was like floating in heaven. We didn't want to leave and will definitely be back.

Review 51:Grounds Staff friendly Swimming pool Evening ambience

Review 52:Mr. André and Mr. Ahmed are very polite, loveble and helpful people. We liked so much. The hotel is near the Historic Center of Montepulciano and very confortable. It's a beautifull and relaxing place.

Review 53:no soundproof. the restaurant/ kitchen cood have longer pause between meals while the dinner itself is ok.

Review 54:good location if you have a car, room nice inside but you may have problems with the view if staying on the ground floor. swimmingpool.

Review 55:Everything was perfect. This was our second stay and cannot wait to return. From the fresh flowers in the room to the staff to the grounds to the food - pure perfections. We Love Villa Cicolina!

Review 56:Nicely kept old building overlooking green hills. Very clean garden with old olives and swiming pool with a fantastic view. What else do you need to relax ? Add to it a top class restaurant, friendly staff and a collection of best Italian wines. This is Villa Cicolina.

Review 57:The shower in our room was a bit basic

Review 58:Quality but informal atmosphere in a beautiful setting and location. We ate at the hotel on three occasions and enjoyed the food and wine. Lovely to sit after dinner in the courtyard to savour the beautifully tended garden and views.

Review 59:The extra cost for the third person (my daughter) in the room was considerable. Her sofa bed was uncomfortable.

Review 60:I enjoyed the comfortable accommodation, beautiful grounds and excellent service. Because the property is small and there were a number of families staying over, it was a very friendly setting.

Review 61:We could find no fault with this place.

Review 62:Beautiful location, elegant but homely room, wonderful pool area and friendly staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and relaxing.

Review 63:When we enquired about a taxi into town we were told that there are very few but they could give us a lift, which was great. But they needed to make it clear that it wasn't a courtesy shuttle but that it was an extra service to pay for. More than happy to pay but it was a little awkward not knowing.

Review 64:Fantastic place to stay! The Villa is immaculate with so many antique features! The food was great and the staff very helpful. The pool is great and the views of the countryside from the pool and jacuzzi are just stunning! Our room was very big and comfortable with everything we needed. We ate in the restaurant one night which was really good. Great stay!

Review 65:Hard to find and see the sign if driving from Siena direction.

Review 66:Everything - could not fault it. The staff went over and above to help with any query, the rooms were gorgeous, the gardens and pool area was stunning. Breakfast was excellent. Make sure you do the wine tasting and matching wines with dinner - we thoroughly enjoyed our night in at Villa Cicolina.

Review 110:The gardens were unbelievably gorgeous. Breakfast was incredible. And the setting of the pool is spectacular. Very impressive property.

Review 111:The weather wasn't good so we didn't get to enjoy the pool etc as much as we'd hoped. No consistency with nibbles offered when you ordered a drink. Sometimes you got nuts etc. sometimes you didn't. Paying 1 euro for a clean pool towel. This is tacky & should be absorbed in other costs.

Review 112:The villa & grounds were beautiful. Frescos breathtaking. Our room was lovely & comfortable. The food was amazing & excellent value for money.

Review 113:We liked the staff and their all around attentiveness. We thought the food was fantastic....the restaurant is excellent. Additionally the grounds are beautiful. I hope to go back soon.

The infinity pool and spa add a nice degree of character to it and the excellent, attentive, and caring staff make it all the better. I look forward to my return very soon. Bravo!
