I have stayed in many highly rated hotels all over Europe covering over 10 contries every year and I will definately revisit this one! It's a 10 minute taxi in to Salzburg (15-20 euros), so may be worth getting a hire car as they're only around 20 euros a day from the airport. Definately worth getting one if you plan to visit the region.

Review 13：Hotel Melanie has the service of a family run hotel and the professionalism of a high level chain hotel. The hotel and facilities are very clean and the room much more spacious than any other hotel we have stayed at in this price range. The owners are second generation to a family run hotel business. Seeing the owners and their 3 year old son everyday demonstrated that they are hands-on proprietors. This definitely adds to the warm feeling the hotel and its staff exude. We would definitely return for more.

But please note that the location is about 10 minutes drive from the city centre. The nearest bus stand is a 10 minute walk.

Review 17：Advanced version of traditional gasthaus - new renovated hotel run by family, with all facilities of 4 star hotel. Service was very good. Breakfast was really great, fresh and with wide choice. SPA zone and swimming pool are spacious, clean and well equipped. Our room was very comfortable, with huge terrace and nice view on mountains. Unlike in standard hotels the room was enlighten sufficiently that I especially liked. We liked our stay and will be happy to come back.

Unlike in many hotels we stayed to date this one has been built and is operated with a true personal touch and meticulous attention to details. The room was very spacious with high quality bed, a large screen TV and was very quite. The hotel is only 2 years old and so everything seemed new and shiny. It has a small but high quality warm indoor swimming pool and a large wellness with 2 saunas, steam and very spacious and comfortable resting zone. All in all the hotel was a great surprise and for the price compared to other alternatives in and around Salzburg a great choice.

Review 88：There was a note in the reception stating that there is a free shuttle bus to the casino we wanted to book it the blond girl at the reception told us there is no problem and she will book for us and the shuttle will take us and bring us back for free. few hrs later we asked the other girl with black hair she said a different thing and told us she does not think we can get the shuttle and suggested we go by a normal taxi or by car!!!!!! this was a bit disappointing since the note is already there!!!! but it is still no big deal and we will come back to this hotel and we suggest it to everyone. There is no slippers in the room to used in the spa which you normally find in a 4 starts hotel with a spa!

Free herbal tea and apples in the wellness area. The room is very clean and modern, the staff are great. we asked for a late check out as the weather was bad for driving and they gave us what we asked for right away. amazing breakfast. free parking only a short drive to salzburg and to Germany. everything in the hotel is well taking care of and it is clear that they pay attention to details.

We were not sure whether it was ok to use the facilities with young children. I personally would have preferred to go there with my husband alone for a quiet romantic getaway weekend, but this is not a criticism of the hotel. They were very welcoming of the children. We were just a little self-conscious since there didn't seem to be any other children in the spa, even though many reviewers mentioned having small children. And the spa was SO gorgeous, it seemed wrong to punctuate the calm with the giggles and screeches of children.

As a result it is very crouded from about 4 to 7 pm.Then it is time to prepare for dinner because you first have to find a restaurant where you can go.
