Reviews for Hanlon House
Review 1:Couple of minor issues with the room that should be fixed up in time for the next people
Review 2:Great location, friendly and informative staff, good setup with "happy hour" and shared areas to talk with fellow travelers
Review 3:Not staying longer than we did!
Review 4:Welcoming Happy Hour!; Breakfast; Visiting Penquins in the backyard; Church right next door; The Dining Table and so much more - actually I loved everything at Hanlon House!
Review 5:We are reluctant to make any criticism about our stay but, in terms of our choice - and certainly not describing it as a "bad experience" we thought the DB mattress in our particular room wasn't all that comfortable. Others might disagree?!
Review 6:No fuss, exceptionally (genuinely) friendly. Attn to detail. Cleanliness 100%. Have already recommended to friends. Will have no hesitation in staying again.
Review 7:Absolutely nothing
Review 8:Soaking in the spa bath with a complimentary glass of port, listening to the fairy penguins outside the window talking to each other as they come up the beach for the night, I tried to think of the best way to describe our stay at Hanlon House. However I think it can’t be done, you just need to come and experience the exceptional hospitality for yourself and then join me online to rave about it. Arriving to complimentary cheese and wine, we fell in love with the house immediately. The rooms were comfortable with everything you could wish for (even chocolates on the bedside table!). Beds were comfy with latex pillows and electric blankets. Breakfast deserves a whole review by itself, but let’s just say it puts most cafes to shame. The view from the breakfast room is a beautiful way to wake up, with views over the ocean and towards The Nut. Also, if you’re planning to take the chair up The Nut, look out for your friendly hosts on the billboard (ha!) As for Stanley itself, don’t be put off by it’s small size, it has a rich historical heritage that’s fascinating to learn and walk about in. I feel that it may well become more popular once people recognise it from a soon to be released hollywood feature film, so get in quick and stay at Hanlon House!
Review 9:Maxine opening the door with a welcoming smile and Graham sitting in the lounge for an evening chat. The central location and historic house set the scene but the fact that the hosts enjoy the company of the guests left the lasting impression.
Review 10:Perfect location close to Nut and main street, with beautiful ocean views. Great hosts that became instant friends - knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast was amazing - better choice than most restaurants and Maxine's cooking was fantastic. Large table for all guests to sit around was a feature as everybody became part of 'family' and shared experiences. Outstanding B&B in a most charming little town!
Review 11:Nothing.
Review 12:Maxine is the wonderful person, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is to die for, the Breakfast is beautiful as is the view from the Dining room. Our room was beautiful and as we had a top floor room the view from our window was truly beautiful. The Fairy Penquins, just walk down to the beach with the torch from Maxine and there they are wondering around, stunning
Review 13:The first impression on Hanlon House was hosts (Maxion and Graham) spent a lot of effort to make you feel at home. Everything in the room is new and with high quality, such as carpet, furniture and bedding... Maxion cooked very delicous breakfast for each guest. There's a menu for selection. All the guests had breakfast together at a big table made by Graham, which gave you a chance to socialize by talking with other guests. Also they provided afternoon tea with some snacks. It's very enjoyable. Besides, at back yard of house, some young penguins in the nest built by Graham. They're hiding there for changing feather. Their parents came back to home at 9:00 pm. It's a good place to meet penguins.
Review 14:Absolutely nothing. Everything was wonderful
Review 15:Beautiful house, beautiful food, beautiful location, beautiful hosts. Seeing fairy penguins in the garden was delightful. Can't recommend it highly enough!!!

Review 45:The hosts,Maxine and Graham were SO ATTENTIVE ,and remembered us from a previous stay.
Review 46:Despite their notice in our room, it was not serviced and we had to ask for toilet paper. They did not, as promised, change our towels--which were very wet.
Review 47:They stoked up the fire in the lounge room at 10.00 p.m., even though we were only going to be there a short time. They provided a variety of gourmet breakfasts. Port and sherry were included in the price. There are pleasant sea views from the dining room and from our bedroom.
Review 48:Our room here was lovely! The views from the house are great. The hosts are very friendly and really helpful. Breakfasts were exceptional...better than most cafés we have eaten in! Afternoon teas was also supplied, which was equally nice. I would definitely stays here again and highly recommend Hanlon House. The bed was comfortable, and everything lovely and clean. We also enjoyed our night time walk in the garden to see the penguins returning to their burrows and the wallabies. Great fun!
Review 49:Arrived in time for afternoon tea, from reviews expected lovely spread but it was not there as owners were out. Were not offered it on another day.
Review 50:Spacious home, views and fire lit at night in lounge.
Review 51:Only one night; we will definitely return again.
Review 52:Graham and Maxine went well beyond what we expected. Dinner reservation ready for us, breakfast delicious and more than anyone could wish for. We appreciated the photos Graham sent of SV Rhona H and look forward to seeing them on board one day.

Review 54:Loved everything, Graham and Maxine are warm wonderful hosts. This is by far one of the best B&B's we have stayed at. The breakfast choice is huge and well cooked. The rooms are immaculate and well thought out, Maxine's touch is evident everywhere.
Review 55:The rooms were amazingly luxurious and the outlook from the breakfast table, spectacular. The breakfast menu was varied and extremely delicious. Maxine and Graeme obviously love their job and are wonderful hosts.
Review 56:There was nothing I would change.
Review 57:I cannot rate Hanlon House highly enough. Welcoming, professional, friendly, knowledgeable. Breakfasts were a real treat with a menu of about 20 different items and then you could tailor to suit needs. Also had gluten free alternatives which was welcomed for my husband. Fantastic, highly recommended. Can't wait to go back!!. Jan from Jerrabomberra, NSW
Review 58:I can not find fault with our stay.
Review 59:An amazingly appointed house with an even more amazing host! Her local knowledge, warm welcome, and preparation of breakfast during our stay were amazing. The location is also excellent being close to some great restaurants as well as The Nut.
Review 60:Not a thing.
Review 61:Our hosts were warm, friendly and professional with their attention to detail; meeting our every need. Our room had an amazing view. The king size bed with quality linen was very comfortable. On our arrival Maxine prepared a cheese platter and cuppa for us. The breakfast would put most restaurants to shame. We would highly recommend this amazing B&B to anyone who appreciates quality accommodation in the most wonderful location.
Review 62:The Hanlon House hosts, Maxine and Graham, were very welcoming and obliging. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the guest's lounge had an open fire lit for our return after dinner at a nearby restaurant. There was also complimentary port and tea and coffee available there. A request for an early morning cup of tea was not a problem and was served on a tray for delivery to my room. Breakfast was home-cooked, made to order and delicious!
Review 63:My only minor criticism would be that the bedroom was a little too cluttered with furniture, with not enough space for the visitor to unpack.
Review 64:The location was excellent, close to beach and narural features. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfasts were superb, and the breakfast room had a fine ambience.
Review 65:Older members of the group found the pillows too fat/high (the younger ones loved them!)
Review 66:Comfy beds Group breakfast (incl the yummy food!) Great pillows View Our hosts - very friendly and accommodating Restaurant recommendation Great hot water Period decor
Review 67:Limited seating in room (only one). Furniture quaint but not useful. Mirror too low to be useful and writing desk too low with poor lighting.
Review 68:Loved the hospitality on arrival. Loved the breakfast and the evening viewing of wildlife. Loved the close access to restaurants, the nut and the beach.
Review 69:The owners are a lovely couple, very friendly and welcoming. An extensive menu of delicious breakfasts! Rooms are spacious and so they are the bathrooms It is a very quiet area, at 2 minutes walk to the beach
Review 70:My husband did not like that he could not make himself a cup of teaafter returning from restaurant. We also felt a little intrusive as itwas also the owners own home as well. We appreciate that not everyonewould feel like this, but we did.
