Reviews for La Terrazza Di Montepulciano

Review 1:Can't think of anything...

Review 2:The host family was extremely helpful and so friendly! Roberto was an absolute gem...he was always upbeat and even gave us helpful information for our travels!!! Loved Roberto!

Review 3:We loved the hotel, the room, breakfast, location but mostly we loved Roberto and Victoria, the very hospitable and charming owners who made us feel very special.

Review 4:Our room was pretty dark and faced the street, but it was the least expensive accommodation they had to offer. If you wanted to just hang out, you needed to go out on the terrace.

Review 5:Roberto is immediately likable and very anxious to please. He gave great tips about where to eat and places to visit in Montepulciano. La Terrazza is well situated in the old town and has a lovely shared terrace overlooking the valley below the town. They had good accommodations for car parking.

Review 6:great staff (owner). Roberto had a great attitude and great personality. He helped us with finding parking spot right in front of the hotel. He also pointed out a good local place to eat. The best italian food I ever had!!!!

Review 7:We have stayed here multiple times and it is the hospitality of Roberto and his wife that keep us coming back. You feel as if you are staying with family.

Review 8:The hospitality was overwhelming; these people are some of the best I've ever met. And sitting on the terrazza with a glass of wine, looking over the roofs of the town toward the rolling hills, was a most enjoyable way to wind down the day.

Review 9:One suggestion for website description: a recommendation of streets to follow and/or GPS friendly setting--address would have made arrival much smoother. Once 'in', realized it was a fab location.

Review 10:Victoria & Roberto were very welcoming and ensured that we knew our way around the facilities and were oriented in Montepulciano. The room was lovely, breakfast terrace was also! Breakfast in the morning was fantastic.

Review 11:Room large [we rented his triple] but the bathroom is tiny.

Review 12:Robert, owner, saved us from being unable to drive to his hotel. Leaving my husband outside the town walls [can't drive direct], I walked 20 min. to Robert's. He quickly put me in HIS car to drive to our parked car. He then led us to his hotel using back roads outside the wall. So generous of him! He sells his great wine and we loved the warm welcome!

Review 13:Storage was limited and the bathroom a little basic.

Review 14:We struggled to drive to the hotel so I left my husband with the car and found it on foot. Roberto jumped into his car, located ours and led my husband to the hotel. We were made very welcome and appreciated the honesty bar.

Review 15:Bed and pillows hard and a bit old. Our room was a little noisy (hear doors opening and closing etc), not helped by your kid next door.

Review 16:We loved our stay in room 4, located right in the centre of th village and with a window out on to the old street above restaurants.

Review 17:Little bit difficult to find the hotel, but if look carefully, can find several signs.

Review 18:Hospitality of the owner was great. Room facilities were new and clean.

Review 19:Location and owners really - but also the fact that the hotel has its own parking right in the centre of a Tuscan hill town is unusual and very convenient

Review 20:Wifi was a bit slow in room.

Review 21:We're regulars at La Terazza and each time it's excellent. Great breakfast, very warm welcome, spacious and well equipped rooms. Central. Parking by door.

Review 22:Finding the house, hidden away on a winding cobble stone pathway, inthis hilly village, was both difficult and frustrating. This search tookus well over thirty minutes. Neither our gps nor other reliablenavigation maps were of any help. It would have been appreciated if ourconfirmation provided detailed directions. Another issue was security. The front of the hotel was well protected. However, to our surprise, we discovered that on the street below, lower down on the back side of the building, the hotel shared an entry point with an apartment; this door remained open for all to enter.

Review 23:Montepulciano evaluation: A truly most gracious couple served as our hosts in this magnificent medieval city. Though an Italian-English language barrier kept us from conversing, their warm welcome was lovely. At breakfast time we were greeted with a delicious assortment of appealing home made foods.

Review 24:Beds are a little stiff; quality of the breakfast left something to be desires

Review 25:Friendly to the point of theatrical, the owner goes out of his way to make you feel welcome.

Review 26:Very helpful and kind staff! Since GPS is pretty much useless in the hill towns, it was wonderfully helpful getting the staff to go to our car and lead us to the hotel. Plus, getting out of the town, would have been very difficult without their help. Comfortable bed. And breakfast was fulfilling.

Review 27:Roberto and wife were fabulous host/hostess. So friendly and helpful with suggestions for local area orientation. Great breakfast offerings, most comfortable room. Very quick access to center of town.

Review 28:The proprietors are kind, efficient, interesting, thoughtful and amusing, and helped out in all ways, including driving me to a concert at a church not within easy walking distance. It is a great hotel, in a lovely city.

Review 29:Parking inside the city. Hotel has marked places reserved in front, The hotel cannot guarantee the parking place so it might be an idea to arrive in good time, Access to the historic city is a little challenging but once on top of city in the main square jus follow the signs La Terrazza

Review 30:The location is great. GPS is hard to locate, but if you call near by Roberto will meet you and guide you to the house. Roberto is a character. He will graciously show you around. His wife Victoria prepares an excellent breakfast.

Review 31:Roberto and his wife Victoria are both very helpful and friendly. They said our booking was not in their system when we arrive. A small room arranged and a bottle of wine is given as an apology gift. We got the big room next morning. Breakfast was very good.

Review 32:our bathroom could have been better, but allowances have to be made for the fact that the house is old and it all adds to it's charm.

Review 33:The best thing about La Terrazza was - Roberto and his beautiful wife Victoria. They were so welcoming and Roberto made breakfast an experience not to be missed! The rooms were great and quite different from the usual hotel room, I'm pleased to say.

Review 34:Wifi didn't work very well

Review 35:Easy check in and check out Great location (right in town centre) It's a beautiful building, very authentic, old Italian Friendly Italian couple that manages the property

Review 36:Not a dislike, but a heads up. Set your GPS for the main entrance to Montepulciano and then to hotel as the GPS sent us to a street you can not go up near the hotel.

Review 37:The moment you are greeted by the owner you feel like you are part of the family coming home to stay. The location is perfect to explore Montepulciano and parking is available for free right near the hotel. We were there only one night, but will return for a longer stay in the Fall.

Review 38:Nothing

Review 39:A warm welcome, great hospitality and a fantastic location in the old town, near the piazza. We parked outside the hotel which was convenient. I have no hesitation in recommendIng this hotel and will definitely return.

Review 40:the staff was too talkative, especially early in the morning

Review 41:the location was excellent, right in the middle of the town; the room was clean and comfortable

Review 42:Shower was a bit small

Review 43:Roberto, his wife and little dog "Rambo" are an "absolutely must meet"! We had an exceptionally warm welcome and tour around the hotel. Our room with four-poster-bed and our own very quaint living-room was a home away from home. Breakfast was homemade and more than you can eat.

Review 44:Extremely difficult to find, even with navigator.

Review 45:Fantastic warm and friendly staff. Very nice rooms/appartments in old atmosphere.Short way to centre.

Review 46:The room is clean and the owner is served with passion. It is enjoyed to eat the breakfast at the courtyard in the old town. The hotel is at the center of the town with reserved free parking.

Review 47:To be honest, the breakfast was probably (technically) the 'worst' we had in Italy - although this is an unfair comparison as they were all generally very good ("wonderful homemade cake" - it was a week old!!) but Roberto made such a show of the service and presentation that it still felt like a delicious way to start the day!

Review 48:We only stayed two nights, but left feeling like old friends. We were fortunate in being given (upgraded to?) Room No. 7, which basically felt like a penthouse suite with a private terrace! This is _not_ a five-star hotel (nor does it pretend to be), but we had a lovely experience, and would certainly stay again. It is a lovely family-run place. If you drive up the street at 50km, you'll almost certainly miss the hotel. But if you drive at a sensible speed (probably a good idea in the middle of Montepulciano!) you will see the signs. And the 'backdoor' entrance is a welcome bonus for wandering out. The bathrooms are not at 'Hilton' standards - but at these prices, they're fine.

Review 49:It was a bit difficult to find the house, as there are many narrow, one way streets. But this is normal for italian cities, not too big problem

Review 50:The staff very friendly, great breakfast. Location few minutes from the main square

Review 51:It was hard to find the place and requires some climbing to get to it. Many stairs within the hotel. The shower was hard to operate, no view of the village from the room. Basic breakfast.

Review 52:The owners were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the center of the village, close to all restaurants and shops. The room was new, big and lovely.

Review 53:Location. Very difficult to reach by car and parking is also a nightmare.

Review 54:Location. In the heart of the city.

Review 55:Roberto and Vittoria are absolutely delightful, helpful, and kind people willing to go the extra mile.

Review 56:Roberto and Vittoria are wonderful hosts. The facilities are beautiful and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Highly recommended!

Review 57:Roberto, the owner was a great host and is very entertaining. He was most helpful!

Review 58:The place by itself is stunning. Roberto is the best host posible for this hotel.

Review 59:The place is great, but Roberto and Victoria make you feel like family! Grazie mille!

Review 60:Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Close to restaurants and shopping.

Review 61:Paulo was very welcoming. Ada's homemade cakes at breakfast each morning were the highlight of the day.

Review 62:Roberto and Vittoria are the most charming hosts.

Review 63:Somewhat difficult to communicate. Location hard to find. Dense mattress.

Review 64:In the heart of the town. Lovely patio. Roberto very welcoming.

Review 65:Beautiful location, central location, friendly welcome

Review 66:Perfect location, good breakfast, nice atmosphere and such of nice owners

Review 67:Loved the hotel, loved the Owner, loved the village! Internet was intermittent- but we did not care! A must if you are in Tuscany!

Review 68:The owners are very nice and friendly :-)

Review 69:Wifi was working on and off. Sweet breakfast. Extremely noisy Street below

Review 70:Staff were great

Review 71:Location, right on main Piazza.lovely room and comfortable bed. Would go back.

Review 72:Location, breakfast, the owners were wonderful.

Review 73:Had difficulty finding the hotel.

Review 74:The hotel was charming and very luxurious with a sitting area in each of our rooms.

Review 75:The shower was a little small.

Review 76:A lovely hotel with welcoming hosts. Parking is easy and Breakfast was delicious and beautiful on the patio.

Review 77:Localização excelente, com estacionamento em frente. Roberto, o dono, é muito simpático e oferece muitas dicas para a viagem.

Review 78:The proprietors were delightful--very friendly and very helpful.

Review 79:Wifi

Review 80:Roberto and Viktoria :) , locations, atmosphere .

Review 81:nothing

Review 82:Location, friendly staff

Review 83:Difficult to find the place

Review 84:Roberto is simply the best! :)

Review 85:warmth/friendliness of Roberto and Victoria. nothing too much trouble great location

Review 86:Host is a great host. Very friendly and larger than life but not intrusive.

Review 87:Rooms were dark

Review 88:Victoria and Roberto were very accommodating and entertaining.

Review 89:Roberto and his lovely wife were do gracious. Have us directions and also suggested the best restaurant in town !

Review 90:The shower was real bad. So small with only a curtain. No way to shower without flooding the floor

Review 91:The owner

Review 92:Noise of evening chatter from dinners on the street, but talking to friends, this is universal in this small narrow town.

Review 93:Delightful hosts, they make you so welcome, a real home from home. It's unusual to find somewhere to stay with its own terrace, warm with shade and quiet to read. We ate breakfast there every morning!

Review 94:Minor issue but the Wi-Fi in our room was very weak, so we went to his beautiful terrace where there was a strong signal. Like I said, minor issue.

Review 95:Roberto and everything about his perfect B&B, Montepulciano, the food and the wine!

Review 96:Unfortuantely we got lost trying to get to the hotel which is in the upper part of this mountain town. Directions should warn that most of the town has limited access for cars and not to follow your GPS exclusively.

Review 97:Roberto, the owner made us feel so welcome - his motto "mia casa e sua casa". We got lost on the way to the hotel and someone came to meet us to lead us to the hotel. The parking was on the street right outside of the hotel which was great. The rooms were quaint with "antiquish" furnishings and drapery. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious with homemade cakes, yogurt, coldcuts/cheese, juice, coffee, etc. Roberto insisted that you eat it all - he is a very energetic, friendly fellow. We had a great stay at La Terrazza and wished we had been able to stay longer

Review 98:Finding the hotel initially was a huge challenge (just like every other review stated). I even called the day prior for directions; however, it just isn't easy. Roberto can be "over the top" with his humor...but in the end, he is customer focused and fun to be around!

Review 99:The location was awesome! Parking was right in front of the hotel. Breakfast was perfect and the room was clean and adequate for our needs. Roberto and Victoria were excellent hosts and provided great advice for our food and travel needs.

Review 100:Wifi was not working as our room was a bit far from common areas.

Review 101:Excelent hospitality and location. The parking is really convenient. Roberto is amazing!!

Review 102:The bathroom was quite small and the shower curtain needs to be changed.

Review 103:The owner Roberto was extremely helpful. He goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. Our room was spacious, with a tradition Tuscan feel. The location of the hotel is perfect. We were driving there by car and had a difficult time to navigate the small streets and finding the hotel. Perhaps as a recommendation to the Roberto is to make the driving map he provided to us upon arrival available online as well and/or send it to visitors via email beforehand.

Review 104:The facilities are okay but not great, to be expected in many of these very old buildings in the hill towns. Rooms clean but a little dark and bathroom pretty basic. But still a good value.

Review 105:The owner, Roberto, really is a character and I enjoyed him. I think the strongest feaure is the location. It is just above the main city center and below the Piazza Grande, which everyone will want to visit. This means you don't have as much hill to climb every time you want to go anywhere. A couple nicer hotels in the Piazza Grande, but you'd have to climb a LOT of hill anytime you go anywhere. I think the hotel is also a good value. There aren't many hotel rooms available in the center of these hill towns. The city itself is just lovely and fun to explore with Many fine wineries to tour and taste.

Review 106:Nothing.

Review 107:Robert and his wife (the owners) were just incredible. Very funny and friendly and made you feel right at home. The hotel had free parking (a big plus in Montepulciano) and a perfect location: the front door was on a quiet little street while the backdoor opened up to the main street in town. The rooms were very comfy and the breakfast was big and delicious. Great stay.

Review 108:Very poor breakfast. Roberto is sometimes tiresome

Review 109:We arrived at 11 pm through rain and fog and the owmer's wife came to pick us up from the entrance of the city! Very kind and very friendly, although no English speaking. Very nice room (recently rennovated) with street view, spacious and clean. Well-located at the center of the town. We parked just outside.

Review 110:The downside to Montepulciano is the hordes of coach trippers who descend every day - once they have gone, it is a very pleasant place.

Review 111:Roberto and Vittoria were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel is comfortable and placed very close to the centre of the city.

Review 112:Well we get the room that isn't pictured on booking. We thoughtfine, it looked ok at the first sight. But when we returned from walkand wanted to get shower and some sleep the funny stuffs started... Webook hotels looking primarily at their Cleanness rating on booking.com.This was has 9. Well, that not true! When we opened up the cover of thebed we found out hairs on the bed sheet and the same on the other bed(booking a double we got triple actually). Looks like they haven'tchanged sheets or anything from previous guests! So we went claiming, and there was only lady who didn't spoke any English. But we finallygot 2 clean sheets, and it ended with us making the bed! For 95 eur wepaid! Then - the shower. It was a small square with curtain. Ok withthat. But it wasn't clean! The white curtain looked nasty and neededreplacement. The shower itself was like rusty... And all this square sotiny. The doors to the room wasn't looking safe at all. The tv wasup to the ceiling height (which was something close to 3 m). Thebreakfast was just average. Too much things packed. To conclude - thiswas the most disappointing experience of this Italy trip! The owner mustbe ashamed! And I totally don't understand how booking.com has 9 forCleanness for this hotel, when really it doesn't!

Review 113:The hotel owner was very friendly and helpful with getting the car tohis parking.

Review 114:Nothing. We loved it. We made a mistake planning to get there by train!Bus is much better.

Review 115:Fabulous friendly welcome and care, like being part of a big Italianfamily. Close to all the wonderful sites, restaurants and fascinatingshops of this gorgeous place.

Review 116:Lovely place just 10 minutes on the number 6 bus from the old city. The staff are by and large very friendly (the bar staff seemed unhappy) and the accommodation is good.
