Reviews for Residence Montefiore

Review 1:The beds for our older children were not comfortable

Review 2:View from the balcony is amazing, the kitchen has full equipment. Elevator between the floors, private parking, close restaurants ("Victoria" - is my recommendation). The location is good for visiting Pisa and Florence.

Review 3:Note it takes 10-15 minutes to get to the autostrada

Review 4:Great room and staff. Room equipped with everything you need. Good location with amazing view. Swimming pool is excellent. Free parking is very convenient.

Review 5:Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner of the property, who, withouta word of welcome (...and I do speak Italian), asked me for 'Idocumenti' (passports) and then for the payment! This was after a2-and-a-half hour flight and then a two hour drive. I wanted to see theappartment but she insisted on payment. She then took us to ourappartment where there were 2 ceiling fans and a pretty useless floorfan, on which the base was broken! The place was like a sauna! This wasthe air-con!! There was an air conditioning box on the wall which Itried to adjust but it didn't work. I went down to her and asked herhow to work it...only to be told that it was automatic and could not beadjusted. It was only used for heating in winter, yet it was thestandard air-con adjuster which I have come across many times before. The light on the balcony didn't work so it was pitch-black at night!I asked for this to be repaired but was told that it could not be fixedwithout an electrician!! It also took 7 days out of the 9 we stayedthere to get one extra floor fan! The discomfort was almost unbearable! This place is definitely not worth the money!! Avoid like the plague!

Review 6:The location of the property was fine, once you got used to negotiatingthe 5+km windy mountain climb to the top. It is certainly goodpreparation if you want to go into training for the Monte Carlo rally! The pool area was nice with a fantastic view over the surroundingcountryside but there were no parasols anywhere for the sunbed area.

Review 7:A microwave oven in the kitchen would have been good.

Review 8:The space, the location, the view, the comfort, the personal entrance and verandah; it was great to stay there and is highly recommended. Thank you!

Review 9:WiFi connection was bad, at least on our room, but on the corridor it was okay. The hotel cleaner left the windows open after clening every day, although room was at ground level :(

Review 10:Location good to visit for example Firenze and Lucca. Pool was nice. Very friendly staff.

Review 11:Nothing, it was the best place we stayed in Europe.

Review 12:We had the penthouse, and it was superb, the rooms were spacious andcool. The views over the valley were stunning, and in the evening thetwinkling of the lights just drifted you off. Pool was ideal for thechildren, and the local shops and bars were also within easy reach.

Review 13:Poor, and very slow wifi in room

Review 14:Excellent view and location, friendly staff, clean and big room. San Baronto is a pretty village with original Italian atmosphere.

Review 15:Fantastic accomodation which has been allowed to slide, because the little things are not being taken care of eg. we were impressed when we walked in and saw Bang and Olufsen TV / DVD and surround sound system. But it didn't work!! The main lights in the bathroom didn't work!! The sockets in the bedroom didn't work!! The wind-out awning on the roof terrace didn't work!! The kettle didn't work!! The manager knew about all these problems when we pointed them out, obviously they had been there for a while, but they weren't seen as anything that needed dealing with . (Although she did get us a new kettle.)

Review 16:We booked the penthouse for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Lovely big spacious, clean and airy with 2 roof terraces and a small balcony. Will sleep up to 6 but was ideal for 4 of us. fantastic views looking right out over the plains to the mountains. Within easy walking distance of 2 or 3 local restaurants (although they weren't great)

Review 17:very good

Review 18:SWIMMING POOL, KINDEST STAFF, GRWAT VIEW, COZY AND CALM

Review 19:The staff were so nice and sweet to us. Very welcoming! We had a big room with a good view over the tuscan hills.

Review 20:Internet connection was weak or not working.

Review 21:Friendly staff

Review 22:thin walls in apartment

Review 23:everything else. Views spectacular

Review 24:Good place to stay if you are visiting Tuscany, one hour in car to Florence, Pisa and Lucca. The best relaxing place if you are in vacation.

Review 25:Views, friendliness of owner and layout of the apartment.

Review 26:The apartment we had was on the ground floor and was extremely spacious with a well fitted kitchen. It was also excellent value for money

Review 27:the view!!!

Review 28:Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Review 29:I loved the size of the rooms. Very large and well appointed. The view over the valley was stunning. Quiet location but near small restaurants and an excellent cafe bar.

Review 30:Nothing, everything was very good.

Review 31:Excellent view over the Tuscany hills, very quiet place, spacious and comfortable rooms, with a large terrace and a small balcony on the other side.

Review 32:Got a bit noisy from car traffic

Review 33:travelling distance to good locations eg Vinci and Florence. Very well set up Kitchen, good bathroom and shower, bed and even a drying rack for hand washing. Lift to get your bags up easily. Staff very friendly, thanks

Review 34:Nothing bad to say .

Review 35:It was a very friendly , and a great central place for visiting g all the big cities like Lucca , Pisa, Florence and other towns and small villages . There was restaurant s just a short walk away. And the wine was delicious . A must .

Review 36:Our apartment was across the road from the hotel/other apartments, so we had to be careful when our youngest wanted to cross the road when going to the pool.

Review 37:Beautiful location. Able to walk to restaurants. Very friendly staff/locals. Very good facilities at hotel and very clean. Plenty of shade at our apartment.

Review 38:Noise from the road and late night singers from nearby restaurant. Flaky wifi.

Review 39:Lovely room, friendly and helpful staff and the swimming pool.Clean and beautifully presented public areas in hotel. Loved it.

Review 40:sadly no proper air-con in our room just a small portable one, and fans (it averaged 35 degrees when we were there)

Review 41:The location was perfect for exploring Tuscany, and was up on a hill with great views. You are 10 min drive from a big supermarket, and just next door to the hotel are two really lovely restaurants, informal friendly and great food... it was quite perfect for my husband and I and my father for what we wanted.

Review 42:No view from the appartment at all, a really bad smell from the surrondings, poor internet acces, no aircondition and a lot of mosguitos and no mosquito nets in the windows and doors, the kitchen was poorly equipped, the pool was offen filled with insects, the outdoor furnishing was uncomfortable and there was quilte a lot of noise from the road. (We stayed in a 2 bedroom app., in a separate building, maybe it is better in the mainbuilding).

Review 43:The location near by a lot of beautyfull citys and the kind staff. The app. was clean.

Review 44:Wonderful reception from Soffia who took bags straight out of my handson arrival, she approx half my size! Then the appartment could notbelieve our eyes, not just a balcony but a 20sq m sundeck alongside, andall equipment in the kitchenette you need for 3 nights. Enjoyedit all& the amazing views we stayed extra nights

Review 45:It was a great stop over point in our travels. We hadn't planned to stop here but needed something close to Florence as we wanted a place to take it easy before continuing our busy travel plans. The hotel, location and area was a nice pleasant experience.

Review 46:Nothing really.

Review 47:Apartments are very nice with stunning views of the valley. Places of interest like Piza and Florence are a short drive away (we had a car). We even managed to do a trip to cinque terre and Piza in one day.

Review 48:Nothing to report!

Review 49:Our host, Sofia, did not speak much English but still we were able to understand each other quite well. As a big family (5 adults and 1 kid), we rented the penthouse which turned out to be probably the best apartment of the building, as it had 3 terrasses, one including a breath-taking view of the valley below, and direct access to the pool, which was on the same floor. It had all the perks of a hotel (room cleaning every day, always somebody at the reception desk to help us if needed), while having the comfort of an apartment where we felt at home and could cook our own meals. We had the feeling of being alone in the world, it was magical. We were there only 5 days but would have stayed much longer if it had been possible.

Review 50:A little difficult to find, but that may have been down to my mapreading. Nevertheless, we would still go again.

Review 51:The apartment was superb in every way and the views from the vastbalcony/ patio were breathtaking. The staff were extremely kind andfriendly and local eating establishments serve quality meals ataffordable prices if you don`t want to cook for yourself. Despite manyother guests there was no noise or other disturbance. A lovely highaltitude hotel.

Review 52:Google maps gps is inaccurate. Look out for the residence in the village- don't drive through and turn hard left as we did! Bring foodsupplies for breakfast as there is nothing available in the village.

Review 53:The location is remote but wonderful. We were upgraded to a one bedroomapartment which was lovely and cool despite the extremely hot weather. The pool was a bonus. Kitchen was good.

Review 54:The manager did not speak English, but we were able to communicate

Review 55:Montifiore, was a lovely apartment and reasonably priced. There was panoramic views and a great balcony, fully equipped kitchenette, only a few Kms from Pistoia and the train into Florence, Nice little restaurant a couple of doors down and a cafe, very nice

Review 56:Nothing - we loved it all.

Review 57:Everything... set in a beautiful village in the Tuscan hills, restaurants just a few metres away, swimming pool overlooking what seemed like "all of Tuscany's beauty", close enough to public transport, on-site laundry, beautiful rooms, gorgeous timber and marble fitout of entire complex - and the staff... what can I say - second to none (Zafia, you made our stay in Italy complete - thank you). Would happily book for a week next time.

Review 58:This place is simply amazing. Best place we've ever been at. The location is amazing, the stuff is very very nice and caring and the room itself is just perfect. Looks like five stars to me. If I ever get the chance, I would definitely come back.

Review 59:Small gripes really. Only a 2 ring cooker, no oven or grill. Electrictoaster came in handy though. No salad bowl, despite the localsupermarket selling wonderful salad vegetables it made for aninteresting use of the large pot. No corkscrew, not a big issue when acheap one cost a few Euros at the supermarket, however given thewonderful Chianti having a corkscrew on the first night would havetaken away the frustration of looking at an unopened bottle. As statedsmall gripes which did not detract in any way from the holiday. I wouldstay again.

Review 60:We used the Montifiore as a base to see Tuscany. Excellent location.Staff very helpful, happy to give advice on places to visit. Theappartments themselves where well appointed with daily cleaning, regulartowel and sheet changes. The views from our appartment spectacular. Thepool cleaned daily and well maintained. I didnt mind driving the windingroad to San Boronto, but it did make for an interesting seat of thepants ride, due partly to the number of cyclists climbing the hills butalso due to the Italian driving skills of using the whole road includingthe wrong side. The restaurant next door serves excellent pizza andtraditional fare, over the road similar, worth a punt on the food. Iwould recommend the appartments to anyone. Thank you for making the stayso enjoyable and relaxing.

Review 61:The apartment beside the street are nosy.

Review 62:Very nice apartment, they clean every day the room, nice position, friendly staff, near florence and nearby is a nice and good price restaurant

Review 63:We had a little trouble finding the place, but San Baronto is such a small village, that you can not go a lot wrong. It took a long time to get warm water.

Review 64:Hostess was very friendly and welcoming and even though she doesn't speak english very well, we managed perfectly. Our studio apartment was very spacious, pretty and clean. Kitchenette had everything we needed. Swimming pool on the roof was great, and the view was beautiful. Montefiore has its own parking place, which was great. This was a good value for money, I can definitely recommend.

Review 65:There is one thing to be cautious about and that is when you park your car in the garage under the hotel. It is very crowded and there is a possible risk that your car can be damaged by another car.

Review 66:This was our second stay at Residence Montefiore this summer and we enjoyed it very much. This time we took our kids along and they really enjoyed the pool. We had an apartment with a bedroom and a livingroom with kitchen. Very nice! We had a terass with a wonderful view. We can really recomend this hotel and the small and nice village San Baronto. We will be back if possible.

Review 67:Didn't not like anything maybe a microwave in apartments would be good.

Review 68:We had a fabulous week at the Montefiore, great location, large apartments, lovely staff very relaxed and happy to help about anything. We were a large party of 9,3 apartments and nothing was too much trouble. Local restaurants great and very good value for money would definately recommend this hotel and location, views are fab.

Review 69:Parking was sometimes difficult

Review 70:The personal were extremely friendly and helpful, the apartment wasperfect. The town San Boronto was charming, the views stunning. Thelocal restaurants very good with excellent and friendly service. Itscool in the evening which is the bonus of staying "higher up". I wouldrecommend this location to anyone, it has easy access to motorways andtrain connections. Well worth the drive, will surely visit again.

Review 71:Residence Montefiore is very comfortable accommodation in a delightfulItalian hillside village looking over Tuscan towns like Vinci. There isa great restaurant with superb views straight across the road and thekids loved the pool.

Review 72:The hotel has great location close to Lucca, Firenze, Pisa etc. Therooms are great - great pool with fantastic view - nice relaxed - notcrowdy - in a small city - friendly staff - a very special atmosfare - Ican only recommend it very much. Children are very velcome - we had asick boy one day and they did everything to help us.

Review 74:Very friendly staff, they speak english. Rooms are clean, comfortable, very well maintained and spacious. Superb value formoney. The restaurant nearby has great food, wine and beer. Centrallocation in Tuscany: 40 min drive to Florence, 10 min to Vinci, 1h toPisa. Free coffee.

Review 75:The pool was empty (mid June)

Review 76:Location and the view. The terrasse

Review 77:Bit further from Pistoia that we thought -- 30 mins out in the hills.

Review 78:Lovely big room, everything we needed.

Review 79:The location is not very close to the center of Florence (more than 40 kilometers)

Review 80:Size and facilities of the room, frendly staff

Review 81:Very nice and pleasant employees-:) Nice pool which one also could use for free at night!

Review 82:Great hotel for the price. Staff very helpful and spoke very goodEnglish.
