Review 1：The cleaniless - not changing my sheets or pillow cases regularly; dust on tables; lack of hand towels until 6 nights into my stay; not having certain items in the room like remote control for the TV; instructions on how to use the coffee machine; the poor bathrooms condition; the dated buidling itself; the problems with heated water to take a shower (lack of); toilet flush not working several times; leaking shower tap and sink tap; replacing toiletries back into a branded bottle which wasn't the brand itself. Broken pool lounges still in use. The fact after so many issues I still didn't get moved to a fully functional room or given anything complimentary. I had the choice of extending my stay a few more nights but decided to head back home due to the above faults and realised its not a 4 star at all but 2 star, paid way over the odds especially on a single occupancy!

Review 7：The property is below average. No vibe. Boring pool and pool bar is just a work counter for the staff to go through papework. No extras in the room...not even an extra roll of toilet paper or tissues. No remote to tv and most days no bath towels. no facecloths or handtowels either. Live with your 2 beach towels and don't expect clean ones on a daily basis.

Review 10：We didn't have a bad experience but the only criticism is that the shower space is rather small. Both my daughter and I are of slight build so it wasn't a problem but if the other rooms are similar, it might pose a problem for a family or people of bigger stature.

Review 11：The hotel is quiet and in a really pleasant location. The beds are very comfortable as are the sun beds. There are shady comfortable spots round the pool. Pool towels are provided. There is fruit flavoured cold water free at the pool. The hotel is constructed in such a way, that it is airy and comfortable. The rooms are a good size as are the balconies. The rooms were cleaned really well every day. Breakfast is very good and all the staff at breakfast are very pleasant and helpful. A special mention for the lovely people who do the eggs! The breakfast venue is very pleasantly situated. It's a short walk to the beach and a pleasant 10 or so minutes walk to the shops. We didn't use the restaurant for lunch, except once, nor dinner but many guests did on more than one occasion so it must have been good.

Review 12：Facilities need basic maintenance--even a fresh coat of paint in strategic places would help! Stairways, rails, eaves & awnings could be better maintained. But great potential all around. Would return in a blink!

Review 13：1. Location. Not on the beach, but very close. Close to wonderful restarants. Close to malls & shopping. 2. The Breakfast. Ample, varied & tasty. The "egg lady" & Simonia were always so sweet & helpful. 3. The bed! Modern & comfortable.

Review 18：I felt restricted as I could not go for a swim after 6pm. There are too many rules which defeat the purpose of fun and relaxation. A few of the staff were nice where as those in management disappointed. Looks can deceive and privacy I felt was not guaranteed as the staff seem to think bad talking guests in their native language is acceptable. I did not enjoy my stay it was horrible and I don't think I will be staying there again. I mean who puts restrictions on having breakfast in bed or eating to your hearts content. The orientation package was poor and had I known about the rules j would have pick another hotel. We are all adults not kids and this hotel is not ready to serve guests. I see the potential but under a different management.

Review 28：The breakfast lacked variety. The pancakes were horrible. Very tough and of all shapes. The french toast was also burnt. The safety locker was not working I reported it on my first day and after a week no one came to repair it. Very poor. I also did not like the cat that appears to be well fed.

Expensive restaurant in hotel (US $57 for hamburger with soggy fries, fish & 2 beers). Surrounded by expensive restaurants (NY Manhattan prices) with mediocre food choices (catch of the day is mostly Mahi-mahi).

Review 40：The room was clean with private pool side balcony. Bed was wide and comfortable with clean white sheets. Pool was small but nice. Good espresso machine in room. 5 minutes walk to a nice beach.

Review 41：Hotel de3sparately needs a makeover, much of the infrastructure is poor. For example TV signal was weak, toilet roall holder was broken, ceiling was grey with mould, much improvement needed. Refurbished it could be good, but right now leaves lots to be desired.

Review 48：There was a dripping faucet in my room that never stopped running and only got worse as the stay progressed. I have to say that the expense versus the value were not equal. The bed was okay. I had light bulbs out and they were never replaced when I asked. The service was friendly, when it was seen to. The reception was slow and I was always waiting to get help. They seemed that they were always confused and no one knew exactly what their job was.

Review 49：Highly incompetent personals. Most of them wearing flip flops and acting disturbed if you ask them for something. It felt as if it was them that were on holiday. Disturbingly Loud music every nights from nearby empty club... Bad food in small portion at a premium price. Essex on the beach would describe most client. Sugar sirup in all their drinks instead of actual fruit juice (on an island that has a wide variety of locally ground fruits). Not hotels fault, but St Lucia has a lot of aggressive locals, just hating you for being white.

Review 51：The loud music from the nearby bars kept us awake until early hours of the morning, when we requested to change rooms we were informed we were at the quieter end of the hotel. The music was so loud we could hear every word of the song! The bathroom is outdated, the hotel have refurnished the room but not the actual bathroom. The toilet is crammed in a corner which is small as uncfortable to use as the space is so small and the shower is very old so doesn't feel clean and re entrance is not very wide. The shower curtain looks used and stained, again making it feel unclean and not a pleasant showering experience as well as the old shower head which fell off once in our stay. Although the location felt quite safe the hotel is not well manned by security. The lock on the room door felt unsecure, when we reported this the hotel added an additional lock which slightly helped settle worries.

Of course BLU is not a military establishment, but the occasional, measured, subtle appearance of security staff, would not hurt. I observed on the net that BLU offers some rooms/suites for as much as 600 USD and above. While I'm basically satisfied with the existing restaurant for my price range (120-130 USD), a hotel that offers some rooms for 600 USD and above, needs to reflect this price with a more sophisticated and generously outfitted restaurant/kitchen. But this is by no means a complaint, since my personal tastes for restaurants and kitchens are nothing legendary.

Review 62：The location is comfortable and excellent. The other clients seem to be good quality personalities. The rooms are comfortable for my preferred price (120 USD). While the staff are obviously not meticulously trained from the professional hospitality perspective, they make up for that slight deficit with basic good manners and courtesy. Such staff should be provided with short training stints at the local Hospitality Industry institute. The pool is beautiful, although I was unable to indulge. I will be recommending BLU-Saint Lucia to my professional colleagues at the office, and will encourage them to stay at BLU whenever they visit St. Lucia for business (seminars, workshops, meetings, etc.) and for leisure.

Review 67：They did not mention beforehand, neither did booking.com mention that we could not pay for the room with a debit card. We then had to walk back to town after walking 20min to get to the hotel because it is literally one of the last properties on the dead end road. We asked them to transfer us to a rearaurant across the street, they didnt tell us we would be charged for it. The place was like a dead zone. it could've been the time we were travelling but there were maybe 7 other guests in the whole place.

Review 72：The staff at the hotel were friendly from the start. We had a horrid experience at the original property we had booked and had to transfer to the Blu Hotel. When we arrived they didn't have a room ready as we arrived outside of usual times. This was not a problem, they greeted us with a complimentary drink, reassured us and within a few minutes our room was ready. Throughout the stay the staff were always friendly, going out of their way to ensure that guests felt welcome, always willing to assist with queries and nothing was to much trouble. The room was clean and tidy, the pool was lovely, the hotel is about a five minute stroll to the beach and shops and restaurants are all within an easy walk. It was a quiet hotel and suited us as we were wanting a simple base with a pool, which this was. The breakfast was lovely and sometimes spoons or glasses were missing from the tables, but this all added to the charm and was not remotely frustrating. As stated if the staff were asked for anything they would jump through hoops to keep the guests happy. Anyone wanting a peaceful getaway would enjoy this hotel. We would definitely come back.
