Reviews for Grana Barocco Art Hotel & Centro Benessere
Review 1:What's not to like! Great place and cost less than the cost of a Travellodge in the UK.
Review 2:Staff were really helpful. Decor excellent and the spa area was great. Continental breakfast. Right in the middle of town.
Review 3:A little noisy from the street but we were in the suite directly facing the main road. Better to ask for a room at the back.
Review 4:Convenient location, directly onto the main street. Street parking was very cheap for a town centre. Always found a park within 10mins walk.
Review 5:The shower is almost non existent, just a curtained off area in a tiny corner of the bathroom and the drainage is quite poor. I managed to flood the entire bathroom within the first five minutes of starting my shower. Modica is very busy after hours on Saturday nights so the promised parking and space to drop off our bags was unavailable as the residents had triple parked the whole way along the street. It made it quite difficult to access the property. The night staff are unable to speak English and were not half as friendly as the day manager.
Review 6:The tiling around the whole hotel is stunning - hand painted works of art from Caltigirone both on the walls and underfoot. Breakfast features pastries from the famous Antica Dolceria Bonajuto. The site is right in the heart of the tiny town of Modica. Day staff are lovely and beyond helpful, giving us recommendations and helping us down the stairs with our luggage. The rooms are spacious and well furnished.
Review 7:The breakfast was poor. No hotel parking available. This hotel has a 4star superior rating - in our opinion it certainly is nowhere near this rating and we were disappointed.
Review 8:The young reception staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean.
Review 9:Very over run with tousists!!. me inc.
Review 10:the position of hotel and restaurant was good. was not offered facilities of spa on arival. we had to ask on day we left if spa was open. should try to push spa as it is a bonus on holiday in a italian town to use a spa & pool.
Review 11:Water wasn't hot enough; Room is gloomy ("romantic" red suite) Spa only operates when booked in advance - i.e. not on demand.
Review 12:Location Communal areas decoration
Review 13:Unfortunately we have stayed there in a very hot weather. Air conditions wasn't working properly and it was very hot. The nearby street was very busy even at night, so in was difficult to sleep.
Review 14:A very cozy and ancient looking hotel. We stayed there only for a day. Hotel manager was very helpful, polite and well-mannered. We stayed in a family room, witch was quite spacious. Breakfast was delicious, with a wonderful coffee. Hotel is in a fantastic location just in a city center. All in all, I can recommend it.
Review 15:Breakfast was ok, but maybe they can consider moving some tables also outside, if possible.
Review 16:Based in the prime center of old town and 500 meters from bus terminal which provides easy access to the sea. Good internal design. Ample rooms. Young well educated staff, very friendly and helpful, fluent in English.
Review 17:difficult steps up to entrance, awkward with big cases. not enough storage space in bedroom. wifi only in reception.
Review 18:the decor was very grand, fitting for a baroque town. the air-con was very noisy but it did work. the lighting was poor in the bathroom. breakfast was ok but more fresh fruit please
Review 19:Beautifully appointed room in a lovely old noblemen's house. Perfect location on the main street of Modica, right in the heart of all the restaurants and bars and tourist attractions. Really nice breakfast and friendly staff who spoke good English which was helpfull.
Review 20:Perfect location, in the center of Modica bassa. Very beautiful room. Exquisite hospitality. Good breakfast. Everything perfect, even the wifi worked, which seems to be a miracle in Sicily.
Review 21:Excellent location, historic building in the heart of the city and not so far from rail station and main bus terminal. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast.
