Reviews for Riad Dar Nawfal
Review 1:Not really in rabat, but Sale (next to it). A 10' ride tram or 30' walk. Anyway, good location and lovely walk by the river. The tram !!! Ive never seen one better!!!
Review 2:Real Ryad! Lovely place! Well arrange. Yummy and fresh breakfast.
Review 3:Room felt like spare room in receptuon area, very thin walls also to the tiny bathroom Inside the medina, not reachable by car, parking some blocks away
Review 4:Nice roof terrace
Review 5:In Sale, there are no restaurants - you have to eat in Rabat.
Review 6:Location- quite simply discoverable, secure parking nearby. Not very far from Rabat, but cleaner and quieter neighborhood than in the capital. Very helpful and pleasant host. Marvelous and cozy house, big rooms, ultra clean. Amazing details, very romantic. A large roof terrace with spacious seating area. Delicious breakfast- best croissants in Morocco.
Review 7:The room was freezing and even cheap hostels had given us an electric heater. The rate of exchange used to convert was not the rate of the day but a very favourable exchange rate to them!
Review 8:Beautifully decorated in traditional Moroccan style. Great location.
Review 9:The location means you cannot get a car within half a mile. Not easy when you have luggage. There was seldom hot water to have a shower.
Review 10:The food and the bed were excellent.
Review 11:Our room on the ground floor was facing the main hall and lacks a bit of privacy.
Review 12:Very nice riad. Nice staff and very good breakfast served on the terrace. Everything was clean and tidy.
Review 13:The neighborhood, felt unsafe
Review 14:The house
Review 15:They are really nice and pay attention to details, anything you need they will help you. Very good food Good balance price/quality
Review 16:We would like to have breakfast at the terrace, but the main entrance was charming too.
Review 17:Toilets with open wall on the top
Review 18:Nice location, clean rooms, friendly personal, good food, comfortable bed
Review 19:locatie bed vriendelijkheid
Review 20:It's quite difficult to find. The room and the shower were in different floors.
Review 21:Very kind staff and very good breakfast.
Review 22:No smoking possibilities after midnight
Review 23:Terrace, staff, free tea
Review 24:The location is difficult to find. Taxi cabs dont know where it is.
Review 25:The lady is so hospitable She took care of us very well even if we dont understand each other. Breakfast is good. Rooms are huge. Clean Quite
Review 26:Amazing Riad! Wonderful decoration, very helpful and well trained staff, excellent hospitality. Welcome tea and cake when we arrived. Free maps about Sale, it is very useful. We stayed in the Essaouria room, I can really recommend for everyone. If you try to find a budget, but excellent Riad in Rabat-Sale, defenetly recommended. In Sale you can feel the real moroccon lifestyle, no tourists are here, that's why much cheaper than Rabat. The tram station is around 1300-1500m from the riad, so you can easily come and go to this Riad.
Review 27:It wasn't in rabat, and it was a little dificult to get there, but not bad.
Review 28:Nicely decorated, clean and friendly, the staff went the extra for you. Homemade breakfast.
Review 29:The best riad we stayed in during our trip to Morocco (we stayed in two others in Marrakech and Safi). Beautifully and simply decorated. Very clean. Kind and warm reception. Wonderful location in Salé, a surprisingly calm and traditional town.
Review 30:Lack of change on the breakfast
Review 31:Comfortable bed and a lovely room. Friendly helpful staff. Not far from the tram and supermarket as well as Sale train station.
Review 32:The location is in Salen , however it is very close to the Train Station and the wonderful tram public service, and not to mention is so close to the Ocean. So in fact I did like the location too. All great value for money
Review 33:The comfort of the place and the atmosphere that creates what a lot of western travellers are looking for when we travel to Morocco, that sense of being in a total different culture and surroundings. This atmosphere combine with the wonderful customer services of the staff , made our stay special and match our expectations of what a Riad should offer to its guess.
Review 34:Difficult to find it. Even though it is mentioned on the website that you can pay with credit card (without any remarks) it turned out that you can pay starting from certiain amount. Should be marked on the web page.
Review 35:Clean rooms, well working internet. Good breakfast. Friendly personnell.
Review 36:one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in! breakfast was delicious, staff extremely friendly and helpful. and interior design is surprisingly stylish and elegant (esp. in comparison with other riads) I would highly recommend it!
Review 37:the owner does not speak or understand English at all
Review 38:1 - Very friendly staff 2 - pick us up at the Bab where the taxi stops 3 - take grand taxi from the Bab to Rabat only 5 dh
Review 39:Everything was perfect!
Review 40:The owner was an amazingly helpful woman. I arrived at night with a very early morning departure and had no time to get to a bank machine or get dinner. She organized a taxi and let me pay on my credit card and made me a fantastic tagine! This is a great ryiad! Merci!!
Review 41:It was located in the very old walled city of Rabat and the taxi could not drive all the way in. We had to get out and walk the last few blocks. Since we arrived after midnight due to flight delays, it was quite intimidating to have the taxi driver park and say Come" when it appeared we were in a dark alley. It looked much better in the morning.
Review 42:It was a rather old hotel that had been nicely kept up and had a lot of old world charm. It was very charming and the staff was very nice. We were able to communicate nicely even with the language problem because they were so good at anticipating our needs.
Review 43:The food was excellent!! Breakfast was very big and tasty, the dinner wasn't so cheap (about 15€) but it was worth it! Really friendly staff and very tranquil atmosphere at the Riad
Review 44:Our room was next to the kitchen, and was a little noisy when that was in use. Not a problem for us, but light sleepers might not think so.
Review 45:The interesting location in the medina - this was our first stay in a riad and we weren't sure what we'd get! Once we'd found it, had a warm welcome from the proprietor with the obligatory mint tea and pastries, and parked the car we were well settled in. Our room was clean, and comfortable, with separate bathroom, and toilet, across the corridor from it. We walked out with friends to eat at an excellent restaurant by the marina, and breakfast the following morning set us up nicely for our onward journey. Very pleased.
Review 46:No door in the bathroom but this comes as authentic Arabic experience ;)
Review 47:Staff really friendly despite speaking little English. Best food prepared so far worth every penny and beating restaurant by mile.
Review 48:The innkeeper was most helpful, the site was convenient, and not too far off the beaten track (any booking in the medina can be a hike from your drop off point)
Review 49:Rooms and riad were fairly simple (even though pleasant) and without the degree and kind of decoration we have experienced in most other riads. The bathroom in the Essaouira room had an odd (and unpleasant) smell. The riad did not respond to an email asking for directions
Review 50:Bed very comfortable. Close to Salé Ville train station and the Salé Medina tramway stop (on Line 1). Closer to the airport than Rabat, which avoids potential traffic leaving Rabat, and the taxi to airport cheaper.
Review 51:Location in the medina was difficult to find. We wanted to visit Rabat, which is about 5 km. No hot water.
Review 52:Riad has nice interior. Breakfast is good.
Review 53:hot water is sometimes not so hot :) the english-speaking manager is not always present
Review 54:the taxi-stop is very close to the riad (better to go by 6 persons per a taxi =5 dirham to Rabat), the personnel is very hospitable and friendly. you will be provided with the map of the district explaining how to get to the riad and the local sights. the place is very clean and cosy, the harmonic interior of the facilities, high-speed internet access
Review 55:We didn't like Sale. A comment we read earlier on a site mentionedthat people in Sale are not very open to outsiders. It was right! Theenergy in Sale is negative! We said salaamu'alaikum to some peopleand they didn't even respond back...which as muslims that weare....was really unkind.I also am not sure if the staff know this, but their smoking travels upstairs into the rooms. It was aggravating to smell it every time someone lit up. The bathroom stunk and was uncomfortable because it was filled with cigarette smoke. We had to constantly keep it shut since the window was open to it. I would suggest that they smoke outside. Other than that....everything was perfect!
Review 56:The room was wonderful and simply romantic and clean. The lit candles onthe steps were nice! The bed was so comfortable to sleep in! Rabat is aten minute train ride away.
Review 57:beautiful riad, lovely staff, great location,in the medina, in particular liked their rooftop terrace, would recommend
Review 58:Its quite ok, compared to the other hotel prices in Rabat
Review 59:Kind of expensive for the area and quality of the beds.
Review 60:There was a man that spoke fairly good English that helped us out a lot!
Review 61:There is no air conditioner.
Review 62:Bad location (taxis cannot drive through the narrow roads/paths in the old city)
Review 63:Good value for the money, nice and helpful staff
Review 64:They only spoke french.
Review 65:We had a great welcome tea with cookies and the breakfast was good.
Review 66:Gracious welcome. Comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful riad.
Review 67:Warm welcome, comfortable room, location in the characteristic medina.
Review 68:It is hard to find the place in the medina.
Review 69:Very nice riad with great terrace on the roof, good breakfast with fresh orange juice. Very helpful staff.
Review 70:Don't speak english, but it was ok.
Review 71:Very king personal. Great Breakfast. Good place. Very good internet connection.
Review 72:The rooms are very clean and beautiful. Very kind and helpful people!
Review 73:The place itself is like a museum, nicely decorated, good experience to live in traditional Moroccan house.
Review 74:Fantastic service and hospitality, very good location.
Review 75:No English spoken, little tourist information, no maps. Good forFrench speakers
Review 76:The Sale medina
