Reviews for Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort

Review 1:Stayed from 24th to 29th november with my wife. All staff were very pleassnt and helpful. Our expectations were met re☺?:relaxed, spa, tours, cruise ...... we will return.

Review 2:The food could have been better, we tried pizza one night which was undercooked so sent them back for more cooking as the base was still doughy. The tuna meal one night wasnt great a little overcooked and lacking in flavour but the lunch of a jerk chicken wrap and nachos were very nice. Overall we enjoyed it however we started eating out or cooking ourselves after trying three resort restaurants.

Review 3:The hotel is down a long (mile long) winding road, so if you want to go any where you are relying on taxis. The curtains were white and very thin, so we woke up at 6am every morning, so not ideal if you are wanting a lie in! Any extras such as drinks are expensive. The sea floor in the private beach is quite stony and rocky.

Review 4:Staff were super friendly - nothing was too much for them, rooms were big and extremely clean. Food was delicious, the atmosphere at the hotel was calm and relaxing, even though there was lots on offer.

Review 5:We had been waiting almost two hours to get a room because they said they never received the booking. They made fun of us, one of the staff told me "we're getting the key ready for you" while they were just taking all my details credit card and id card for the manager. When the guy took everything he said to his manager "I took everything" and then the manager started to say the truth, by this time we had lost more than an hour. They we're not getting a key ready they were just taking all my details without saying a word that something went wrong with my booking. Unacceptable for a 5 star hotel, you don't treat people like that! Even if they asked me to send the confirmation email we paid more. Just a scam. Last time at windjammer, I'm not going back there! Another thing, staff refuses to speak creole even if you don't understand when they speak English! Too posh to be nice! A chance I could speak English otherwise my friends would've slept outside.

Review 6:Our second room of our stay (the double room) was two twin beds pushedtogether, was not very clean, and smelled bad. However, we complainedand management upgraded us to a phenomenal room.

Review 7:We loved the management response to our complaint. The other rooms wereamazing and a great value. The beach was wonderful and not too crowded. The variety of eating options on site and the ability to book toursthrough the hotel were an added bonus.

Review 8:Food was very expensive and unless you have a car you need to eat there. To go out anywhere is very difficult. The beach was extremely windy and so using the water sports meant that you couldn't go very far. We wanted to snorkle around at another bay but they only issued the gear for an hour at a time so we could't do it.

Review 9:The resort is huge so we were pleased that we went in off season as we couldn't imagine what it would be like whenit was heaving with people, particularly on the small beach. The villas were all lovely and great value for money. Was good to have some water gear to use. They had a free snorkling trip for an hour but the snorkling area wasn't all that great. The staff were all extremely friendly and were alway checking how you were.

Review 10:Itson ahill so a hike, not an issue for us but would be for dome. There ate shuttles to run you up and down but not as convenient Ad just doing you own think

Review 11:Great beach, nice location

Review 12:Man made beach is very good to look at and sit on but the sea is full of rocks and coral which discourages swimming. Make sure to take some protective footware for swimming.

Review 13:Staff helpful and friendly. Stunning location and layout of the resort. Fabulous views from our villa. Good choice of restaurants with, generally, well cooked menus.

Review 14:Built on a very steep hillside with lots of slippery tiles and uneven pathways. Waiting for the shuttle buses which sometimes don't come. Telephone regularly goes out which makes it difficult to call a shuttle anyway !

Review 15:Pool & Beach

Review 16:Can't think of anything we didn't like.

Review 17:By far I would like to call out the genuinely kind staff. I have stayed in resorts in the Caribbean before, and the outstanding staff at the Windjammer were the best. They went above and beyond to help my 94 year old father. This trip was a dream come true for him. The staff had excellent ideas and suggestions -- very innovative and unique. I miss them already!

Review 18:The rooms are spacious and the incredible views from the outdoor terrace are truly fantastic. The villas are comfortable and hotel staff is beyond amazing.

Review 19:Our kitchen was infested with ants. We did not choose the all-inclusive plan and prepared a lot of the meals in our villa. The kitchen was very dated and the ants were a huge problem as they easily would get into the food and dishes. Also, the stove was not very clean. Cooking was not a pleasant experience.

Review 20:Beautiful views and location. Nice beach although the water is not as clear as we have seen on other islands in the Caribbean. The people are extremely nice and friendly. Would definitely come back to St. Lucia, but probably not to Windjammer.

Review 21:food quality and price

Review 22:villa - spacious with useful kitchenette safe, pretty beach good pools excellent location, good views, plenty of space - even at its busiest the resort did not feel crowded friendly, patient, helpful staff

Review 23:The buildings looked like a meditteranean village. The landscaping was beautiful. The resort had many great complimentary activities like snorkeling and watersports. It was so spread out you with many pools. It felt like you could have your own private space if you wanted it . We had a private patio and the view from our room was the ocean & a beautiful hill. Great beach & 5 restaurants. the ultimate paradise!!!

Review 24:The parking for guests is very limited. Had to park out back with the employees twice, even when in high heels and a very nice dress! Had to wait 3 days to have some laundry picked up and 2 days to get the remote for the tv fixed. The other part that was a surprise to us was that the resort is on the side of a hill and that we had to spend extra time waiting for a shuttle to either go up or down. As a mature traveler I wish I would have realized this before booking because if a person has any health challenges getting around the resort is not easy. Trying to find this place if you are driving is nothing short of a treasure hunt without a map- remember to look for a small Windjammer sign that is not easy to see while driving. Just remember its across from ComputerWorld!!!

Review 25:The best part of the experience was the staff and how friendly they were. The entire resort was pristine. The room amenities were awesome especially the bed.

Review 26:Service in restaurants can be hit and miss. Jammers excellent, Dragonfly poor.

Review 27:Fabulous location and wonderful views

Review 28:I could find nothing....!!!

Review 29:Everything!!!!!

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:Lovely setting the staff were very friendly and helpful. Great holiday. Hotel was situated in a lovely area and gorgeous views and beach.

Review 32:Food dreadful in all restaurants Limited housekeeping staff Feels like three star resort

Review 33:Nice beach, good spa

Review 34:Excellent service during check in. I had other plans and did not have breakfast at the hotel.

Review 35:Difficult to find - very small sign off main road. Lots of walking up and down the hill

Review 36:The upper swimming pool, usually almost deserted.

Review 37:Everything isgood

Review 38:We like the friendliness of staff.

Review 39:Everything!

Review 40:There are nicer beaches on the island; the complicated shuttle service in old small buses to your villa/room is a big disadvantage

Review 41:Very nice and spacy rooms with great views and much atmosphere, excellent beach equipment, excellent italian restaurant (so we did not test the other ones)

Review 42:Nothing worth complaining about. Very comfortable and happy with my choice to stay there.

Review 43:I wish there was a "very good" option for facilities rather than just "good" or "excellent". There were some minor maintenance issues that needed tending to but the layout and cleanliness of the property and rooms were fantastic. It is a breathtaking facility, very serene with wonderful views. Staff were all professional and friendly.

Review 44:The room was extremely minimalistic in terms of furniture, and smelled moldy making the high price unjustified. The mosquito net was not functional, but that was all the hotel could provide. The distance between the room and the reception, restaurants, beach, car parking was long. There is a taxi service, but it is not convenient.

Review 45:The beach was okay.

Review 46:If you like kids, cats (lots of them) and noise, this is your hotel. The hotel is 25 years old, and it shows. We stayed in room 105A and it was just like a step back into time. This is a split level small house with a different apartment below. Noise insulation was not invented at the time so you can enjoy all your neighbours noises.. We had booked for three nights but checked out after one night, in need of a new holiday to rest.

Review 47:In general the staff was friendly and responsive

Review 48:The wait for a shuttle to and from the room was sometimes a bit long.

Review 49:The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would especially like to thank Charlene for her extraordinary service. The room was great; private and had a great view.

Review 50:They had started to work on the generators so our power was off for 4hours on two of the days we were there.

Review 51:Beautiful resort. We stayed in an Estate Villa which was excellent. We had privacy to relax and enjoy our stay. The shuttle service was a must because we were at the top of the hill but never needed to wait long for a bus. If we had any problems or needed something it was dealt with very quickly.

Review 52:The hike to the rooms is a bit much but there was a shuttle. I thoughtit was crazy that there was no cash machine on the premises. The resortis a bit out of the way requiring taxis to do anything.

Review 53:I liked my room- it was very spacious and had lovely views. The lunch Ihad was very good as well.

Review 54:Room phone out of order for majority of stay which made contact withhotel services and reception difficult, and contact with friends in St.Lucia. National Holidays prevented repair. Many guests reserved beach spaces in early morning with towels, and then failed to utilise them!

Review 55:Situation and views. Lovely beach with palm trees Well appointed room, shower room , balcony etc

Review 56:Even though the room faces the ocean, there was a tree that blocked my views from the room.

Review 57:Wow, the scenery, staff, food, and just the peaceful atmosphere was EXCELLENT!!!!!

Review 58:- Sea water was not clear and transparent as you would expect it on Caribbean Islands- only a small area designated for swimming, outside of which danger of sea urchins - room was not specious

Review 59:- Hotel nicely located (on hills surrounding a bay)- beatiful sunsets - not motorised sports (kayak, catamaran) included in price - good service

Review 60:The view. The way the place is setting. The staff was friendly. And helpful. The water sport activities were complimentary. That was exilent !! Thank you. We trully enjoy our time there! Defenatly will come back again

Review 61:It is built on such a steep mountain that you need to rely on their shuttle to get back and forth to the main beach, lobby and restaurants. You CAN walk it but you wouldn't want to do it many times a day. Their shuttle system works fine but you just loose a little time with it. We didn't arrive until about 10 pm so the fact that the a/c wasn't on in our room was a bother as it took a couple of hours to get it even comfortable. Tried sleeping with the windows open which helped until the mosquitoes (or whatever they were) came to visit. The street that leads from the main highway up to the property is a bit concerning given the neighborhood but the complex itself was wonderful. This isn't really unusual for places in that part of the world.

Review 62:We thought the staff and buildings were great. The restaurants and beach facilites were great. The beach is protected by a sea wall enough that it was much cleaner (from ocean waves) than another beach we stayed on just a couple of miles away. The buildings and grounds are much better than what the web pictures indicate even though they may be a little older looking than the pictures show.

Review 63:the food at one of the restaurants at the resort was not good in my opinion - i ended up sourcing food outside of the hotel after that one experience

Review 64:beautiful romantic ambiance in the resort and courteous staff

Review 65:I was not there long but everything about it was excellent while I was there

Review 66:I had a very short stay and was travelling on business but was struck by the resort as a possible future holiday destination

Review 67:The staff were hit and miss. Some miserable and rude especially in therestaurant at breakfast. Others at kids club and the guys driving theshuttle were very nice

Review 68:I don't believe the resort is worth the price, the meals are expensive and the service is ok. You will get bothered on the beach by people trying to sell you stuff. Also, I didn't mind the open air villa, but beware if you are a light sleeper, you will not be able to sleep well with the orchestra of crickets outside...

Review 69:What I most liked about the resort is the beach and the variety of restaurants available. Depending on where your room is, it seems that the beach can be quite a hike away but the distance is deceiving, it is easy to walk to the beach. In regards to the restaurants, I was pleased with the different types of food available.

Review 70:It was a mile from the main road and not really near any town (not walking distance). For us, this made leaving the resort difficult because taxis are very expensive! But there is enough to do on the resort if you don't want to leave.

Review 71:This was a very well-maintained resort in St Lucia. I wish it was closer to other towns or the Pitons, but the resort was excellent. We had our own villa with a full kitchen and balcony with amazing views! The staff was always very helpful and friendly. We were impressed!

Review 72:Not enough caribbean food on the menu, too westernised.

Review 73:The view from our apartment was breathtaking and had the added bonus ofa plinge pool which I did not expect. Lots to do for the kids and a goodbeach and shallow waters for the kids to swim safely in.

Review 74:Non-Existant service, staff is courteous and apologetic, but do not takeaction and lie just to get you off their back.

Review 75:The ocean views from the villas.

Review 76:The buffet dinner was nice, but average. I expected to be amazed by the food and just wasn't. It was good but average.

Review 77:Staff was very nice and helpful. View was beautiful and room was very nice and comfortable.

Review 78:These are not complaints, just matters to think about:* Hotel is spread out over the hillside, many rooms will be located far away from the beach. Fine to walk down, but you are likely to want to use the (rather frequent) shuttle service to get to your room. * Whilst nice seaside location, it is an isolated location requiring rather long taxi journey external restaurants. * Note there are no blackout curtains and safety deposit box is not big enough for a laptop * Menus at the restuarants could be improved and offer more choice

Review 79:Overall good resort. The location means that most rooms will have verynice seaviews (although quality will differ). The room was verycomfortable, good bed and pillow.Reasonable mix of restaurants (there are 5 in total). Beach was pleasant, good access to watersport facilities (reasonably priced). All of the staff very friendly (apart from the guy in the reception).

Review 80:Extra charges

Review 81:Facilities

Review 82:Quality of food left a lot to be desired.

Review 83:Views, Friendly Staff, Cleanliness

Review 84:Beautiful view from our room Nice Beach, good restaurant, clean facilities.

Review 85:The staff were great - friendly, helpful and competent.

Review 86:Really unpolite service. With the exception of the manager in duty who handled my check out, who did a splendid job.

Review 87:Nice place
