Reviews for Riad A La Belle Etoile

Review 1:The room and hotel were beautiful. All the staff were really helpful and nice, especially Assisse (wrong spelling), who helped me organize my taxi and find my way around Rabat.

Review 2:We will pay more for a bigger and better room next time. Price a little high for what we got, stayed in Marrakech Room, will go bigger next time.

Review 3:Location was ok, close to our meeting the next day. Room was clean, breakfast simple but ok. Staff try hard.

Review 4:It was difficult to find, she kindly came to meet us and guided us into the walled medina. Dining and sitting areas and best bedroom (windows all around) on top floor, but lots of steep stairs!

Review 5:Traditional riad in medina, beautiful view from top floor, comfy bed, space, clean.Friendly helpful manager made no problems about late arrival because of delayed flight, but gave us delicious rooftop meal (as booked in advance).

Review 6:very nice Riad in Salé with a really nice owner. We had dinner the evening we arrived, which was lovely, tea on the terrace and got to see some magic card tricks. Rabat can be reached very easily by train (5 10 minute walk to the station). All in all a very nice stay.

Review 7:Service was obsessed with payment. They asked for the money 10 min after arriving and twice a day after that. Finally they noked on our door at 24:00 in the night before departing, requesting payment. Very disgusting.

Review 8:Away from most everything. Had to pay in cash each time you had a meal or asked for water or tea or.... Riad was in need of maintenance. It appeared that no cosmetic work was done on the place since it was remodeled years ago. Cigarette smoke from people on the roof terrace always came into the common area of the house. It would have been nice to be introduced or meet the owner since we were there so long.

Review 9:The staff was really nice. The dinner meals prepared at the riad were great. A/C in rooms worked very well. The old tile in the place was very beautiful. Our rooms were very spacious.

Review 10:being presented with bill at beginning of stay instead of the end.

Review 11:the staff were very helpful. Loved the decor and places to relax in. lovely breakfast.

Review 12:The Fez room was a little dusty and my allergies went crazy. I'm guessing the room hasnt been used in a while. Im also guessing that the fancy bed canopies arent cleaned often

Review 13:Our 1 night stay at the riad in Rabat, was excellent. We were there for the Mawazine music festival, and we arrived into Rabat from Essaouira late at night. The gentleman welcomed us into the riad despite the time and was very kind. The room was spacious, relatively clean and the service was fantastic. The riad and our room (The Fes suite) was beautiful with elegant traditional Moroccan architecture…. it made us feel very royal! The gentleman was very helpful. He suggested ideal places to eat and see. This riad is very good value for money. The riad also seems to be LGBT friendly. I would highly recommend this riad to anyone.

Review 14:By booking you can't pay when you want to bye by visa the take commession 5% . Or cache It's expensive for the reat around and a good place

Review 15:Very pad area the old city is no comfortable darty

Review 16:the property doesn't have real parking facilities if you travel by car. Nonetheless, we could found a kind of private parking 100 m far for a very good price.

Review 17:Great location in the old medina of Sale. Great breakfast. Very kind and friendly staff. The property is really beautiful, I really appreciated the rooms, the decoration, the attention to the details. Very very nice. Nice view from the terrace.

Review 18:Not so easily available parking if you are travelling with a car. I would have liked to have an airdryer in the room, but I guess that if I had asked the staff they could found one for me (I didn't ask, it was quite hot, no real need of an hairdryer)

Review 19:The courtesy of the staff. Very helpful. The property is really beautiful. Nice terrace with a great view. Small hammam and you can have dinner on the terrace if you ask for it. You can have tea. Breakfast was fine. I loved the room decoration, the attention to details. Staff really friendly and nice. I would sure come back if I'll go back to Rabat.

Review 20:The reception staff were not always readily available. I always had search for them and I almost felt I was imposing on them if I needed help. It was also cold in our room but these aren't reasons not to visit this riad.

Review 21:The riad is gorgeous, very traditional, we were blown away by our room! The breakfast was amazing, always fresh and served by a very lovely lady (don't know her name).

Review 22:Not the best location in the medina of Sale, neighborhood feels a bit shady, but nothing bad happened.

Review 23:Friendly staff, nice breakfast on rooftop terrace with view on the ocean and both the medinas of Sale and Rabat. Bed was really comfortable! Nice en suite bathroom. From the riad you walk to the train station in 15 minutes where you can get on the train to Marrakesh, Casablanca etc (you don't have to transfer in Rabat ville).

Review 24:All the staff were very polite,Fatimzahra & Stéphane thank you for wonderful 4 days.Samira, the hostess is great .Lady who cleaned our room is perfect! Thank you, thank you.Anastasiya and Asen

Review 25:Heating did not work in room - rooms very small - loads of stairs - had a nightmare finding the Raid - check in boy half asleep, looked like a rap star and did not know about our booking, asked for our wedding certificate when we had 2 rooms booked.

Review 26:Hot water - True Moroccan feel - breakfast was basic but ok

Review 27:LA ENTRADA AL RIAD

Review 28:EL RIAD ES TIPICO TIPICO, MUY ORIGINAL, MUY BUEN TRATO CON EL DUEÑO, LAS PUERTAS MUY ORIGINALES CON LOS NOMBRES DE CIUDADES DE MARRUECOS ,EL TE, LA CAMA MUY COMODA

Review 29:we were not pestered by the staff or Fatimzahra & Stéphane who all were polite and accommodating.A nice and peaceful stay well done!!... a good breakfast and close to the tram All the staff were very polite thankyou Fatimzahra & Stéphane for a comfortable stay

Review 30:My room had smell but it was bearable, didn't have brouchers for tourist activity

Review 31:The staff were great, I was well looked after and even had my dinner served at 1.00 am which is incredible

Review 32:Hectic welcome, we had to ask the staff for things that usually are part of the welcome (showing us the room, giving us the keys...), no welcome tea, Mold/mould in the bathroom, smell of drainage in the bathroom. The room & bathroom was just medium clean.

Review 33:easy to find with a little help of the sale citizens. safe parking for 20 dh / night around the corner. the staff was very helpful after asking. wifi worked well. very organised (map w/ infos at arrival, breakfast etc.). good breakfast.

Review 34:Parking was close by, but a little confusing of who to pay.

Review 35:It was our first night in Morocco. A friendly greeting after a rainy drive in an unfamiliar area was very comforting. The rooms were lovely and breakfast was yummy

Review 36:Small but important details like the towels that were too few and looked and felt old and cheap, sofa or divan was covered with a kind of a rug that looked dirty. No bathrobe, no slippers no hair dryer (we had to ask for one and they do have it but not in the room). One window had no curtain, it was not privacy matter, just too much light too early (it's vacation time). Some design elements looked cheap and out of place. We stayed in 5 ryads and this one was the worst.

Review 37:The personnel is very attentive as in every other road we stayed in Morocco.

Review 38:The "suite junior" is fantastic. The riad is beautiful and clean.

Review 39:Attractive rooftop dining location with views to Rabat. opulent furnishing.

Review 40:Price.

Review 41:Cleanliness and comfort.

Review 42:One of the girls working there was a little grumpy. Aziz was lovely & helpful

Review 43:The breakfast was really lovely.

Review 44:No electricity next to the bed to charge your phone..

Review 45:Nice room, clean

Review 46:I arrived late due to travel but was welcomed in and attended to.

Review 47:Very poor breakfast and very expensive extra services

Review 48:Breakfast was very plain and repetitive 5 day stay and did t improve

Review 49:Lovely location clean and traditional riad

Review 50:The staff were very friendly even doing magic tricks and playing guitar for us :)

Review 51:View from the roof Breakfast Lively staff

Review 52:nothing really

Review 53:Samira, the hostess.

Review 54:Washing clothes is too expensive. It is the only riad in Morocco where every friendly offered tea was charged.

Review 55:the staff was rude. the breakfast was poor and the coffee horrible. the list may go on but I want to forget I was once there.

Review 56:nothing!!!!

Review 57:Meknes room can be a bit noisy at night (windows to the street) but it can be forgiven because of the magic lamp (see above)))

Review 58:This was our first riad experience, and we found it quite nice. The place is carefully renovated, room decor is quite nice (we liked the magic lamp in Meknes room), staff is friendly and speaks some English which is rare. The terrace is great. When we arrived they offered us (for the first night) a larger and better room (Rabat luxe) for the same price!

Review 59:Although the owner tries everything to overcome this, the shower gives soms odour of the sewage system

Review 60:Very friendly owner who rents out only 4 of the 7 rooms to create better comfort for het guests

Review 61:Couldn't get wifi upstairs.

Review 62:Beautiful guest house. Lovely staff, ready to help at any time! Good bed, we loved the typically Moroccan decoration. The breakfast was so nice as well. AC.

Review 63:The staff didn't even say hello when they came to check us in. They immediately tried to up-sell us and have us give them more money by telling us the rooms we reserved were not available (amongst many other things). The staff was extremely rude.

Review 64:Once again, difficult to find. And the bed was terrible. Had difficulty sleeping and woke up stiff and sore- i felt like I had just had a wrestling match.

Review 65:Staff were truly delightful. Premises very well kept. Meal was excellent.

Review 66:Conveniently located in the capital city, you won't see what's coming ahead until Rita and her side kick Amina welcome you to the riad. The highlight of the stay was the genuine hospitality of Rita and Amina. Upon arrival (tired from a long drive from Fez and Meknes), Rita's smile and warmth made us comfortable right away. We were offered mint tea, moroccon pastries and shisha as we sat in the shared living area to let off the tiredness before we went unpacking and settling in. The most memorable thing was the dinner Rita prepared for me and my friend. She set a new bar in Moroccan cuisine with her oh-so delectable dishes - the appetizer and the chicken tajine blew us away! I would highly recommend that you spend one evening and have dinner made by Chef. The Moroccan rose wine was also exquisite! Amina is another funny "chambermaid" who easily cracks a laugh and always ready to greet you (or cheer you up) in the morning. A highly recommended place to stay! Worth the money!

Review 67:It is easy to hear the conversations in the rooms next to ours, so this hurted a bit our privacy.

Review 68:Very good value for money. Very responsive and very friendly staff Do not miss the opportunity to have dinner at the Riad, it is good and unexpensive Excellent Wi-Fi network

Review 69:We had dinner at the Riad, and the food was simply amazing. Add to that the rooftop location and Moroccan elegance, and I would immediately recommend this place.

Review 70:Not simple to find even with a map.We were advised not to go to the closest town beach.

Review 71:Rooms,position for the centre of Sale, food. Roof top terrace excellent.

Review 72:Our host Stephane and his staff were fantastic. Always ready to help with a Riad so close by public tram to Rabat. The Riad is in a quiet location with fabulous decor. The breakfasts were superb.

Review 73:The ventilation is not great, partly because of the design, as it looks like a conversion from a family home.

Review 74:Good authentic Moroccan hotel, gives you a very good traditional feel. The sense that you are in a secure environment that is not enforced by locks and bolts is is most reassuring. The food was excellent and the roof top restaurant very pleasant. The staff are very helpful and very friendly. The hotel is in close proximity to the Rabat-Sale tram, and shopping.

Review 75:Nothing, everything was just perfect.

Review 76:Everything! The front door hides a beautiful old building, perfectlymaintained, kept and run, traditionally decorated. Everything is clean, tidy and lovely. Our spacious room with a beautiful view, in theterrace, was just perfect. The traditional welcome mint tea and almondcakes served on the terrace by the friendly staff was a hint of thegreat dinner we had while watching the sunset. Fatimzahra and Stéphaneare great hosts! Breakfast on the sunny terrace, very good. Beinglocated in the Medina and English and French spoken, just adds extrapoints. A La Belle Etoile is a star shining bright in Rabat.

Review 77:As we were only there one night, we didn't feel any personalconnection with the staff--which we had at all our other lodgingsin Morocco.

Review 78:Easy access to/from the airport. The location in the Sale medina isgood and the atmosphere is really nice. We didn't see much of Sale-but the the upper terrace view was a good bonus!

Review 79:nothing

Review 80:everything is pleasant: the room had a beautiful view on the town, so had the terrace. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Relaxing atmosphere. Rabat and Salé are not the most interesting town in Morocco, but staying at the riad is definitely worth it

Review 81:- impressive traditional building; a terrace with a great view - very nice staff: they welcomed us with mint tea and cookies - very good breakfast - we received recommendations for restaurants and places to visit in Rabat

Review 82:The comment refering to the Ryadh as a good alternative for business travellers has been writen by the owner himself. It is definitively not appropriate for that purpose: to far from Rabat´s business area, breakfast room not appropriate, no phones in the rooms, too dark, and stinky and shabby bath room, etc... The fotos and comments on the webside are misleading: there is no hammam and other services related to it.

Review 83:Friendly Staff

Review 84:Riad a la belle etoile was a lovely gem in the heart of the Old Medina of Sale. The Riad was very neat, orderly and well resourced for international travelers. The innkeeper was a delight, extremely helpful, hospitable and kind to the point of guiding us herself to nearby points of interest. The staff were very good, and our room was well kept, had all amenities, and was very clean, whilst retaining its 'old-school' Riad flavour.

Review 85:Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast outlook over the city

Review 86:Hard to find

Review 87:Nice roof terasse, beautiful lounge room in old stile, friendly welcome of the woman of the house

Review 88:Very friendly staff, excellent views from the roof terrace over the city, lovely breakfast and excellent home cooked traditional food in the evening.

Review 89:The bed & seating was uncomfortable, Continuous incense burning probably to disguise other smells..

Review 90:Secure parking, Wi-Fi, good shower

Review 91:Wifi poor. Manager can improve on customer service.

Review 92:Staff excellent. Good location, about 6 minutes walk from tram station.

Review 93:unique great breakfast..

Review 94:Good stay.

Review 95:Bathroom facilities a bit cramped

Review 96:Loved the welcome and friendly staff

Review 97:Great position away from the noise. An easy walk across the bridge to the center of Rabat. Fantastic breakfast. Highly recommended.
