Reviews for Le Magnolie Hotel
Review 1:There was a smell of damp in the ground floor of the building. Whilst the bathroom was very grand, things hadn't been finished properly and not everything worked - bath edge not sealed so water leaked out onto the floor; and I ended up filling the bath from the shower head rather than the taps. Once full, the Jacuzzi jets didn't work. For the money, I would have thought these things would have been attended to.
Review 2:Lovely building and very comfortable rooms
Review 3:The only thing missing is a mirror in the room!
Review 4:Brand-new feel, large room, contemporary bathroom fittings including rainshower, warm and charming staff recommending a wonderful restaurant nearby and rolling our two suitcases down many stone steps after calling a taxi for us, tasty and varied breakfast with Capuccino served at the table
Review 5:Excellent location in the heart of Modica, on a quiet alley just a two-minute walk from everything. Lovely rooftop terrace with views over the city. Friendly and accommodating staff. The best hotel experience I've had in quite a while.
Review 6:The Hotel has an excellent location in the centre of the town ideal for those using public transport to travel. Superb views from the terrace and excellent room facilities.
Review 7:Walk to hotel difficult up a hill with luggage as you can not park car out the front also no help from hotel for where to park , they need to invest in a Vespa or something to help with luggage
Review 8:Rooms comfortable and beautifully furnished very nice quiet small hotel and central location
Review 9:Lovely room with excellent ensuite, especially the shower. The breakfast was excellent with good selection of fruit, cheese etc, yogurt, croissants, delicious home-made marmalade and fig jam, and very good coffee.
Review 10:It can be reached almost only walking ( unless you have a Smart or a Fiat 500). The air conditioning is noise in our room.
Review 11:Very clean, recently refurbished. Room big enought. Breakfast with limited choices but good quality. Very nice terrace.
Review 12:I hated to leave!
Review 13:The perfect fusion of modern comforts framed by ancient walls and imposing architecture. A wonderful example of sustainable development and tourism.
Review 14:Noise from the lobby and the first floor landing seemed to echo a lot.
Review 15:This hotel was easy to find, right near the tourism office and the chocolateria, and has an exceptional view of Modica from the rooftop terrace.
Review 16:Very dark, dreary colour scheme throughout, soulless building. Breakfast poor and room like a road cafe .
Review 17:Large rooms with spacious bathrooms, location
Review 18:The tea for breakfast was Luke warm but we had very good lattes and cappuccino instead, no problem
Review 19:Reception staff had good knowledge, were extremely helpful and spoke good English
Review 20:Terrace with amazing view doesn't have a restaurant. Sad... Difficult to find
Review 21:Wonderful place in amazing city of Modica. Perfect views from terrace.
Review 22:Called a hotel, but only served a very modest breakfast which makes it a B&B. Difficult to find. Its up a very narrow 'alleyway' where you cannot take a car. NOT at all a place for anyone with walking problems or a lot of luggage. Parking is a serious problem (in any town in Sicily) and it was impossible to find a place within reasonable walking distance of the 'hotel'.(E2.40 ticket required for either a morning or afternoon's parking in the street - free on Sundays and between (approx.) 20.00 and 08.00 hours and something like 13.00-16.00). Very limited mini-bar in the bedroom and the so-called hotel served no drinks which, in view of the pleasant rooftop terrace, was a great pity, as a chilled glass or two of nice white wine would have gone down a treat !!
Review 23:A lot of money has gone into the construction of this small B&B and it is very attractive inside with each room named after a flower. Good sized bedroom, comfortable beds (large double - two singles attached ??), plenty of drawers and hanging space. Friendly and helpful staff. Pleasant rooftop terrace. Quiet location. Central location for restaurants, etc.
Review 24:There is a well stocked bar and roof terrace but no one told us.
Review 25:The Magnolie is in a very central location-through an arch-up some steps -just off the Corso Umberto in Modica. It is just across the road from the cathedral and the Chiesa Rupestre di Sant Nicolo(?) which is a rather remarkable cave church - discovered at the back of a house (had been used as a place for animals). The chocolate shop Giudja? is two minutes away and veryu worth a visit.....The rooms are rather spartan but have extraordinary ceilings , painted in gilt and colour. Our daighter loved the place.
Review 26:Having to go the next day
Review 27:Beautiful rooms and attention to detail, view from the roof terrace. Central location. Good breakfast. Tucked up a narrow side street with lots of character. Quiet. Scenic drive from Comiso airport. You can park on street below, modest charges.
Review 28:The hotel is in the old town and therefore has no car parking, but it is not a problem, because you can park a car in the street nearby and it is quite cheap (from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. it costs 2.40 EUR, at night time and on week-ends for free).
Review 29:Interior super! Very modern, tidy, large room and perfect bathroom. Nice breakfast, wonderful wine room. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is in the city centre, has nice terrace with wonderful view, especially in the night.
Review 30:Location a bit difficult, worst breakfast ever.
Review 31:Quality of the bed, friendly staff.
Review 32:Outstanding Hotel. Convenient location in the center of town.
Review 33:The mouldy smell in the corridor. Parking was a bit of a problem.
Review 34:Nice big rooms with a lovely shower
Review 35:nothing
Review 36:staff so friendly and helpful, loved the terrace with its fabulous views.
Review 37:Location! Hard to find, many stairs to reach, no parking, only paid on street down the hill!
Review 38:Spacious rooms, terazza
Review 39:Great location. Great rooms. Very clean. We ended up staying four nights intending only one. Friendly staff.
Review 40:Hotel cannot be reaxhed by car
Review 41:The room was amazing and the staff was very helpfull
Review 42:all,
Review 43:The noise from the street
Review 44:Clean, nice room, rich breakfast, helpful receptionist
Review 45:Terrace was outstanding for views of St. Peter's church !!

Review 49:Location, groovy and attentive. Spacious rooms
Review 50:Huge room, great location (even with a car), great breakfast, lovely staff, great terrace to have a drink at!
Review 51:The hotel is in the heart of oldtown. You can feel true Sicilian spirit there. Absolutely clean and cosy. Breakfast was perfect.
Review 52:Spacious rooms, parking nearby, excellent breakfast (sweets from Bonajuto!)
Review 53:No negative comments
Review 54:The hotel is situated in the heart of the old town. It is extremely quiet considering it's just behind one of the main streets. The room we stayed in was spacious and had a lovely lounge area. Had a lovely balcony with shutters. The bathroom was large and clean. 7 rooms in total, 5 of which have a flower theme, ours was La Calle. Not sure that room 001 or 002 would be that good, as situated on ground floor, one by breakfast room and one by reception. All others situated on next floor. Breakfast was continental, good range of cheeses, cold meats, bread, jam, yogurts, fresh fruit, cereals and pastries. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. A very pleasant experience and stay. Good value for money!
Review 55:Had to enter the WiFi password every time we wanted to connect!
Review 56:The view from the roof terrace was stunning and the hotel's central location was very convenient.
Review 57:The lack of parking provision and the climb up to the hotel when carrying cases.
Review 58:The fantastic artwork throughout the hotel-very inspiring! The views from the hotel terrace-magnificent! A superb central location to explore the whole city and close to some of the most atmospheric and value for money trattorias.
Review 59:the hotel is reachable only by walking 30 m or climbing stairs; convenient park on the main street (ask the receptionist how to pay)
Review 60:prime location, friendly staff; stunning view from the hotel roof terrace.
Review 61:Everything was perfect.
Review 62:Good central location just off the main road which has the shopping and restaurants. Lovely big room with a well designed bathroom. Friendly, helpful staff who organized some day trips for me. Lots of choice for breakfast - fruit, yogurt, cereal, cheese, meat, eggs, assorted breads and sweets. The wine bar is great for an end of day drink, especially if you take it to their roof top patio to watch the sun set over the town
Review 63:Next to impossible to reach by car, so we had to lug heavy cases some distance. Awful coffee at breakfast.
Review 64:Excellent location, excellent rooms, good breakfast (but see dislikes).
Review 65:This is an absolutely brilliant hotel. Everything about it is fantastic.I stayed for a week (Modica is a great base for visiting the baroque cities) and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff in particular deserve a special mention - nothing is too much trouble. I highly recommend it.
Review 66:No parking, and a bit difficult to find. Placed in a back alley with a steap and narrow street, but no problem, actually.
Review 67:Spotless clean and new hotel. Good price and spacious room. So also the bathroom - huge! The staff was service minded and spoke english very well. OK breakfast. Free wi-fi.
Review 68:No view from room but the hotel is located in a narrow alley so understandable.
Review 69:Small scale. High quality and spacious rooms. Fabulous view from terrace over historic Modica. Very friendly staff.
Review 70:Having to ask for WiFi vouchers. Time limits on WiFi vouchers .
Review 71:Contemporary design, great rooftop terrace, central location, good variety at breakfast.
Review 72:The steps to get there got tiresome. But I would still return to this hotel. It is really part of being downtown in this very old city that is in a Valley. Homes have to be built on the mountain side.
Review 73:Very close to the heart of downtown. Outside Very nostalgic of old Modica, but inside redesigned with all modern needs. Rooms were very comfortable and modern and Great shower and water preasure. We enjoyed the view of Modica from the terrace and the wine cellar. All so charming. And the Staff was very accomodating and even brought the luggage up all the steps for me and my parents.
Review 74:The room smelled like humidity and the breakfast was a bit old. But wewere in january so there was very few people, wich could explain theold brakfast.
Review 75:Clean and nice room. In the centro storico.
Review 76:Nothing to dislike, if you want to park outside your room go to a chain hotel on the outskirts of the big cities, but hey, this is Sicily if you want to stay in the atmospheric old town then the short walk from the car is a price definitely worth paying.
Review 77:The hotel is a real jem in Modica, well presented, stylish and full of well thought out design features, not many rooms so good attention to detail. Our bedroom, Gerbera, was very comfortable with excellent bed, storage, bathroom / shower facilities, and the ceiling..... well I'll not spoil the surprise!! There is a cave, yes cave, where you can taste the local wines and beers, whilst enjoying the evening views across the illuminated old town. Very close to the local restaurants and of course the chocolate shops, and the really helpful Tourist Information Centre. All the staff we met at the hotel were pleasant and helpful. It's on a narrow atmospheric road just off Corsa Umberta near to the main junction, and is not accessible directly by car, but we found plenty of free parking (in the white bays, the blue ones were €1.80 for half a day) on Corsa Umberta, and the walk is less than the typical terminal to hire car location at the airport. If you want they have a free garage parking nearby. Great place to stay, great local City to stay in to explore the local countryside, coast or hill top towns, definitely recommended. We stayed there 2 nights in late October.
Review 78:my husband had stayed in Le magnolie Frigintini he said it is a better hotel for children, because more space for them to run and pool. please inform us if its open for last week of october and first week of november.most probabaly we are 3 families of four. thanks
Review 79:size of room
Review 80:The small hill going to the hotel might be a bit extra after a hard daysampling the delicious local food but very worth it.
Review 81:The rooms are very big and comfortable. The view on the terrace isstunning and the service is really good. It is also positioned in thecity centre but not in the traffic area.
Review 82:Maybe the breakfast was a bit less in quantity than expected, howeversufficient for sure.
Review 83:Staff friendliness, up-to-standard rooms (like new), design of thehistoric building which has been renovated with an artistic eye
Review 84:Large room with large bathroom very nicely appointed in a very convenient location.
Review 85:Loved everything. Cannot fault this beautiful hotel.
Review 86:Only one pillow each, but provided a second on request. Bedside light didn't work and they couldn't fix it.
Review 87:Helpful staff, good location
Review 88:The staff is helpful, The room is clean , The view is good.
