Reviews for Aspire Alpine Gables
Review 1:The booking system mislead to book two rooms with capacity for 2 and 4 when we can easily fit the six people in one room while both have capacity for six.
Review 2:Excellent location and very kind and helpful reception staff. The rooms are spacious and well maintained with a small kitchen good enough to make breakfast or light supper.
Review 3:Nothing to say - all was fine.
Review 4:The apartment is located right next to the Nuggets Crossing shops and is an easy walk to anywhere in Jindabyne. The room was not renovated but it was very comfortable and functional. I like the swipe card access and security to the complex after hours. Parking is available right in front. The apartment we had (number 13) was very quiet and we stayed Monday to Friday.
Review 5:The apartment desperately needed to be updated. Kitchen and bathroom especially. The fan in the bathroom was filthy and the dust on the fan and lights in the main living area were dusty.
Review 6:There were no staff in sight during our stay. It felt very impersonal, and if there'd been any issues we wouldn't have known who to call or how to contact anyone.
Review 7:Spacious room with nice clean and comfortable bedding and towels.
Review 8:reception was shut when we arrived and checking in over phone took some time
Review 9:Spacious room with a balcony, comfy beds. Great value for money in summer. Close to the lake walking track and parks and across road from Jindabyne village
Review 10:Nothing.
Review 11:Location was very close to everything. It was a public holiday time but guests were well informed and essentials left if required. Desk person was very friendly and very helpful.
Review 12:The room had not been cleaned from the previous occupants - empty cans, minibar not stocked. Staff acknowledged they had some issues with their cleaning staff.
Review 13:Great room, facilities & location
Review 14:Allocated a room to our family that was positioned straight over the bar and carpark. Bar patrons drunken shannigans wound up around 2am. We were not happy. Staff non existent when we checked in at 7pm.
Review 15:To many stairs to get to room. Needs to be updated furnishing shabby.
Review 16:With in walking distance to shops. The restaurant next to the accommodation was great value and lovely meal.
Review 17:Have been staying there for many years..even lived there for a season in the 90s. Great people good food and many good times downstairs, first with Manfred then with the current staff. Highly recommended to anyone. Cheers Dave.
Review 18:Everything else! We got accommodated to a room that someone just checked out of! Dirty socks, dirty towels, bottle caps etc. After complaining we got a better room afterwards. Beds were not bad but those were 2 single beds put aside and it was possible to feel an edge of each one right in the middle Dishes in cupboards were dirty and had remains of dried food after old tenants, kitchen falling apart and not the cleanest in general. There was a few other issues like access card stopped working next day and heating stopped working too It was fixed afterwards and like I have mentioned that staff are friendly and helpful but all those obstacles along the way made our stay unpleasant
Review 19:Not much - Location maybe and communication with staff
Review 20:Old furniture, old kitchen and bathroom No cook top stairs are dangerous for the loft apartment No sheer curtains- stayed at floor level apartment - could not open the curtains as there was no privacy
Review 21:A lot of money for motel accommodation, but that is standard for the snowy mountains. It was a shame there was only instant coffee for breakfast.
Review 22:Very large family room, very clean, walking distance to shops and restaurants, good deal on ski hire.
Review 23:Great service when checking in, very helpful staff and so friendly. Room was impeccable and such comfy and warm beds! Breakfast and dinner were delicious also. All round the best stay I've had for such a great price. I would recommend to anyone! This will be the place we all book for future snow stays. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Review 24:My daughter found a pair of socks in her bed obviously the sheets hadn't been changed ! Yuk!
Review 25:The girl at the front desk was very friendly. I'd score it 2!
Review 26:Unfortunately the property is worn out and desperately needs a make over. The beds were very average and the shower was really really bad - no water pressure and changing from freezing to scalding in seconds.
Review 27:The location is fantastic. The front desk staff were really pleasant and helpful and the included breakfast made it good value.
Review 28:Not much. Probably had to chase up little things like, teatowels and dishcloths, when the cleaners didn't replace them.
Review 29:Spacious rooms. Great brekkies.
Review 30:Lots of stairs after skiing all day.
Review 31:Across the road is Lake Jindabyne a beautiful location. Loved the shops and restaurants a short distance from our room. But best was the bar downstairs, atmosphere and great staff I felt like an actor in Cheers!
Review 32:The heating was terrible, not good for the middle of winter! I couldn't get warm and woke during the night shivering. The breakfast at the Brumby Bar was awful! Cold and stale like they had put it out at 7am and left it there (breakfast only available between 7 - 9am).
Review 33:Good location and staff at front desk were very friendly and helpful
Review 34:Lots of stairs, swinging doors and limited parking.
Review 35:The kids loved the split level rooms. Very reasonably priced. Great location, close to shops and restaurants. Super friendly staff.
Review 36:Kitchen in poor condition and needs to be updated. Kitchen and bathroom pretty badly planned for utilising space. Cleaning staff could use some more supervising/training, a little lax.
Review 37:Great location, friendly front office staff, good basic accommodation for a family. Good heater :)
Review 38:Paid wifi? Connection with friends and family to expose the location and its value made the drawback.
Review 39:After spending day in snow it was nice and warm to walk into apartment with clean rooms and friendly receptionist. Close to shop and beautiful view of lake in morning.
Review 40:No milk in fridge, should of been! & wasn't offered any either. TV located in inappropriate place. guest OHS issue! Plant located on first landing of stair case obstructed pathway of guests. guests must give way to other guest on stairs.
Review 41:room was clean, bed was comfortable, shower was ok.
Review 42:Omer didn't like that we couldn't stay longer :)
Review 43:each contact with reception was fantastic. The lady we dealt with was friendly and very helpful.
Review 44:The room we were given the first night was not the one we thought we were getting, which may be a booking agency issue. The room that was viewed in a photo was not what we were being asked to book!
Review 45:The staff were very friendly and helpful and moved us to a more appropriate room after the first night without an issue. It was a very pleasant stay despite the weather.
Review 46:We were disappointed with the kitchenette, expecting more than a microwave, fridge that never got very cold, and a strange black & decker hot plate thing. An electric stove top would have been useful, with a saucepan for cooking pasta etc, and some more cutlery/cooking implements - its hard to have to chop all your food with nothing but a bread knife! In addition some extra lighting wouldn't go amiss - those cavernous rooms were pretty dark. And finally, at the risk of sounding like a hippy, where were the recycling bins?!
Review 47:The location was definitely the highlight of this hotel/motel/chalet - walking distance to Jindabyne's eateries and the lake, and a great base for exploring the National Park. The huge room (double bed downstairs, loft with 4 bunk beds upstairs - more than enough for a couple) was quiet and comfortable and we slept very well (though noted that the double bed was actually two singles pushed together). Staff were pleasant, our room was serviced daily, and the bathroom was adequate - shower was good! I would say this place is good value if you're on a budget and can't afford the fancier place across the road, and on that basis we would stay again.
Review 48:Full size appliances (e.g. toaster, kettle), and a couple of different types of pillow (not just high hard ones), would be a good investment for the hotel to make.
Review 49:Location is excellent. The ambience /fitout of the hotel was also very impressive.
Review 50:The room was quite big and airy, even to the point that the energy saving lightning had trouble providing more than level appropriate for mountain cottage. It was clean, with enough furnishing in reasonable state. Clearly this is made for winter season and if I have change I'd use it in that time. Located on the main road to Mt.Kociuszko area, next to the lake and shopping centre and with own bar, there is not much lacking.
Review 51:Computer Wi-Fi facilities were down for all 3 days of our stay; kitchen fittings were chipped and cupboard doors did not close properly; double bed against window; loo bowl cracked.
Review 52:Proximity to great outdoor activity facilities.
Review 53:The balcony is not really a balcony, but an enclosed area between apartments so you can see and hear your neighbours like they are sitting there with you. Disappointed that there was no wifi. On our booking it said it was available for a fee, in the room the information booklet said it was free. We asked reception and they said that it was turned off for the summer...
Review 54:Great position right in the heart of Jindabyne. Basic kitchen for simple meals and parking right out the front.
Review 55:lots of noise coming from bar/bistro. Pillows were way too soft. Went to have a shower at 5.30pm after being caught out walking in the rain, water was cold.
Review 56:location was good.
Review 57:NOTE: I have NOT answered the 2nd part of q 1 accurately because there is no category there to cover "brother and sister"!!! Or even just "family". We did not fit under any category given: not a 'mature couple' etc etc as we were simply 'mature siblings'!!
Review 58:We enjoyed our stay very much.
Review 59:Limited cooking utensils (e.g microwave-safe bowls, salad bowls). Access to the rooms was by stairs only - no lift - which wasn't a real problem for us but could be if your mobility is reduced.
Review 60:Great view. Good bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 61:The log cabin had everything we needed and the host was extremely helpful, giving us information about local amenities and the best way to get to our destination.
Review 62:The flyscreen on the bathroom window had a hole in it, which was brought to our attention during the night when I went into the bathroom and found it filled with countless insects, mosquitoes, etc, as the window had been left open. This was a little unnerving to say the least, and we had to run across to the service station to purchase bug spray to get rid of them. The chairs on the balcony were also rusted around their legs, as we discovered after one of them collapsed underneath my boyfriend as he sat having a drink in the morning. Luckily he was not seriously hurt, as he had glass in his hand which ultimately shattered during the fall. I would recommend the staff pay closer attention to anything that is broken, decaying, etc, and get it fixed up. And any guests who stay here in the future - keep a look out for these small things which may have unwanted consequences!
Review 63:The location was excellent and certainly my favourite thing about the stay, especially on the second level with a balcony. The building and the view was just perfect and gave us the ideal beginning to our holiday. I personally enjoyed the artwork on the walls. The room was welcoming and comfortable as far as decor and facilities go. It was certainly ideal for one night, and would have been nice to stay at for longer. Could suit any couple, family or group of friends. I especially liked that everything we needed was within walking distance - especially the bistro and bar downstairs with perfect food on offer.
Review 64:The bed was actually two single ones which they tied to put them together, not enough comfortable to sleep. There is no a good view for the lake.
Review 65:The location of hotel was good, near to shops and also walking path of the lake.
Review 66:No hot plate just a frypan that was not non stick and everything stuck....
Review 67:Great comfortable bed, clean room... Nice kitchen. After a long day skiing you got a good night rest
Review 68:The balcony was next to the carpark but its such a high fence that you cant see it anyway so its not really a problem. It was on the bottom floor, but this cant be helped either.
Review 69:I love how close it was to all the restaurants and shops. Staff were friendly, very spacious rooms with high ceiling and a balcony. Would definitely stay there again and was great price, and would recommend it to everyone.
Review 70:Spa is closed since 2006 but you can still see this facility online when you book the room. Others are all good.
Review 71:Very close to everything! Room is very warm and clean, sauna room was great.
Review 72:The roof was all cracked and looked in need of repair. The apartment was rather old and in need of an upgrade. The whole hotel was much the same. There was no privacy for parents in this room.
Review 73:I liked the loft...the kids loved it. It was nice and warm. It was close to the shops. Easy to find. Plenty of room.
Review 74:Parking is limited if you get back late from skiing.
Review 75:Aspire Alpine Gables is so convenient to all the shops and restaurants yet surprisingly quiet. We were on the ground floor with a verandah adjacent to the car park but it worked out really well for loading and unloading the car. Spacious room with everything you need to be comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room and property were very clean. Would certainly recommend to others.
Review 76:In terms of value for money it was very expensive for what is essentially a loft apartment without a full kitchen and no laundry. However this is probably a reflection of all accommodation in Jindabyne during the snow season, where some properties were charging per night what you would expect to pay per week in a capital city. Noise from adjoining units can be heard, even when neighbours are not being loud - very surprising given that internal walls are generally brick. As per the most insightful review, the pillows were too soft and the spare pillows were a bit too hard (but this is always a difficult one to please everyone so can't be too critical)
Review 77:Good location, good views of Lake Jindabyne, friendly & helpful staff, comfortable beds, clean & crisp linen, room at correct temperature - not toasty and not too cold. To complement the most insightful review, I agree that the shower head was brilliant and made for a good shower.
Review 78:Small poridge bowls for breakfast.
Review 79:Location was very good. Just a short drive from Bullocks Flat. Shops and restaurants was just across the street. Well presented room and friendly staff.
Review 80:Mattresses, squeaky bunks, Some TV issues.
Review 81:Location is great. Convenient, close to all shops. Not noisy from the road. Shower Restaurant good value
Review 82:Breakfast wasn't tasty and the coffee sachets wasn't refilled so I wasn't able to get a coffee. Also the bunk beds were a little low so when u wake up in the morning you hit your head if you weren't careful
Review 83:Great place to stay on budget, was next to shops, hire and great little pub downstairs. Beds were comfortable enough but I hit my head a few times under the bunk bed
Review 84:very old 80's style decor, very basic kitchen with microwave only. heard all the conversations from next door rooms and woke us through the night when late party goers come home late. Expensive for couples and more suitable for families/groups.
Review 85:central location & walk to nuggets crossing shopping centre, easy after hours arrival arrangement, room warm, parking avail, bathroom good size, wifi avail, secure, King room was spacious, appears to be well run.
Review 86:The office was only open at 8am. Being a skiing holiday left before 7am. I forgot to confirm early exit with reception the night before therefore was a little confused how things would go without checking out. It turned out fine especially as I'd booked through Booking.com.
Review 87:Free wifi is much appreciated, however it kept forcing me to log on after short periods of inactivity. The login and passwords are quite complex which requires keeping the info card close to you. This is necessary when you make anything free but still a touch frustrating.
Review 88:Helpful staff, smiles everywhere. FREE WIFI. Basic, but everything I needed. Appreciated being able to turn the heater off (I like a cooler sleeping environment). All in all I would thoroughly recommend. And that showerhead: Perfect.
Review 89:Not enough car parking when all rooms are booked and pub and bistro are opened.
Review 90:Spacious room, good heater, friendly staff, great breakfast, good location.
Review 91:Staff was not really upto the mark as told in review. I found the breakfast served just for the sake of it. Service was poor. Beds were itchy. Only saving grace was things to do nearby.
Review 92:the location of the hotel within driveable distance to thredbo and perisher and the lake was just a few minute walk from it. we went on a beautiful day and it was really warm outside. kitchen utensils were provided in the kitchen, was perfect for families. room was nice, warm and cozzy.
Review 93:Needs updating and even though it sleep 6. The kettle only big enough for 2. Interesting
Review 94:Spacious
Review 95:Comfortable good sized room for four people. Great view over lake jindabyne.
Review 96:Nice layout
Review 97:All good for us
Review 98:Room was a bit dated. Sofa needs updating. Pillows where terrible and could be updated.
Review 99:Close to shops. The Brumby bar was great and food excellant
Review 100:The room while relatively clean was a bit dusty. This was evident on the bathroom sink.
Review 101:Central location to the Jindabyne shops and amenities.
Review 102:Everything was dirty, floor, cutlery, crockery, microwave unsafe.
Review 103:Location, layout.
Review 104:light in kitchen not working, room was not cleaned during the day
Review 105:spacious rooms, good location, helpful staff (on the phone) when we lost our keys
