Reviews for Hotel Mediterraneo
Review 1:Facility in need of facelift. It was what we expected.
Review 2:Location. On waterfront within walking distance to port. We needed a bed for 1 night and this was just that. Staff recommended great place to eat dinner. Given same circumstances would stay again.
Review 3:The AC is turned on only by the staff, at certain time in the evening only, if you stay in the room during the day for some reason... it is better to open the windows and doors, there is no AC
Review 4:The staff was very friendly and willing to help
Review 5:The hotel helped me with a package I had mailed there - thank you so much! They also allowed for an early check-in. This helped after traveling over seas. My hotel room window looked out to the sea! Also - this was a great location for meeting my ship!
Review 6:Very convent location a short walk from the train station and also to the shuttle to the cruise port. The desk clerks were very helpful especialy the young man in the evening. He was very helpful recommending restaurants for our two night stay before our cruise. The breakfast was adequate not exciting but no complaints. Would stay again when we leave from that port again.
Review 7:Bed hard as, dirty, aircon doesn't work, no english speaking tv channel, staff are rude, breakfast was limited and poor quality, wifi doesn't exist outside of reception area and at most times doesn't work at all. No ironing board and iron. Lift is old and dangerous. Building and rooms are dated. Photos on booking .com are not a true representation of actual.
Review 8:I liked Nothing about this hotel would never go back
Review 9:This being our fourth time at the Hotel we find that room facilities are somewhat inconsistent, especially regarding bathroom facilities.
Review 10:The male person at the reception desk was very helpful when my wife got ill. We needed guidance on either a doctor's visit or visiting a Pronto Soccorso. We finally got none since we spoke to our doctor back home and she prescribed medicine on the phone.
Review 11:Woman on front desk couldn't have been more unhelpful if she tried. Customer service course must have forgotten her. Breakfast was poor. Everything that was supposed to be hot was actually cold. Room was ok but bathroom shower leaked all over the floor so was a constant puddle. They clearly aren't interested as they get the business regardless due to location. I use booking.com a lot and have never complained. Surprised this is one of your recommended hotels.
Review 12:Location
Review 13:Bed broken, extremelly hard bed. Pillows are as flat as pancakes, no wifi in room, aircon doesnt work, old and dated, ants in bathroom. Breakfast well below expectations, one toaster that toasts 2 pieces in 10 minutes. Photos of hotel not as they seem in real life.
Review 14:Location only
Review 15:Room I was assigned to had a problem , shower didn't work but staff was great and moved me to a room that was working properly
Review 16:Great location, friendly helpful staff
Review 17:it was dated ,poor quality food, the lift was small and we only went in it once as it didn't feel safe, rooms were very very basic and dated. Above all we didn't feel very safe, my children had a bullet hole on their bathroom door and the corridors had very dubious characters hanging around. Seemed like a DHSS hotel. Wouldn't recommend. Won't return.
Review 18:Wi-Fi was good in the communal areas and in the corridors but no coverage in our room
Review 19:The location was brilliant - we stayed for Ferragosta and the fireworks were directly opposite our sea-front windows which gave us a totally amazing view of the festivities !!
Review 20:Room window didnt lock, forced to down grade to a smaller room with a locked window. Shower water temperature inconsistent ran only boiling hot water, no cold. Air conditioner struggled with hot weather, TV channels minimal available, not a clean hotel in need of urgent upgrade. Very tired looking. Staff didnt resolve issued when we raised complaints about our room. No safety deposit box in room, curtain falling off in room, shower old, dirty and mouldy. No compensation offered. Staff at check out was rude. Very over priced for what you got. Highly recommend not to stay .
Review 21:Location close to the beach and restaurants
Review 22:I didn't like that there was a shuttle to our port, but we were told only a taxi for 20€ at the front desk. . After walking to the train station we found out that there was a shuttle bus. When we went to cancel the taxi, the hotel front desk person was very rude to us. ( same person who told us there was only a taxi)
Review 23:Location and rooms were nice
Review 24:The air conditioner in the room was leaking right on the wall and on the electrical switch underneath it. Looked as a very unsafe setup.
Review 25:Location is good. View from the window is awesome.
Review 26:This was the worst hotel I booked in my life. The photos that booking.com have on their website has nothing absolutely nothing to do with reality. They are the photos taken 50 years ago when the hotel was built. The reception is in a very bad state with falling apart ceilings. The rooms were absolutely dirty with the linen as if people used it the same time. Our shock was when we went back to reception and the receptionist straight away gave us the option of there 4star ???? Hotel next door . We checked it but it was as bad. We paid we left and checked in at Hotel San Giorgio next door. It's a shame for booking .com to list such a hotel
Review 27:the hotel was cool in hot weather clean and fresh although dated interior and the entrance needed weeding! My room was clean and tidy, bed linen well laundered but mattress a little hard for for me - overall though I had a very pleasant stay and i would definately stay again - it would also be a great place for a family because of its closeness to sea front. Staff were very friendly and some spoke excelent english.
Review 28:They need new door locks. It was difficult to use the room key at first. Got help to find out and then we managed. They could do with a new elevator, too, but we had no problems with it.
Review 29:Splendid location close to the train station and to the port. Wonderful view!!! Friendly and helpful staff. Big, comfortable room and clean bathroom.
Review 30:the actual room was nice enough, though there was a lovely terrace with no chairs or anywhere to sit down, day or night, nullifying the use of the terrace.
Review 31:View from balcony, good breakfast, price was good value we only stayed one night pre cruise didn't expect 5 star at price staff advised good restaurant for dinner and arranged transfer to ship for us.
Review 32:No advance notice of closure was given - notice on front door to go to hotel 150 feet down the street (sister property) where we were expected and taken care of. Unsettling to find hotel closed but all in all worked out well
Review 33:What we saw on line and what we experienced were two different things. Towels small and minimal, had to ask for a blanket. Hotel tired in general. I am glad we were there for only one night.
Review 34:The proximity to the port was convenient.
Review 35:breakfast was below average. In Italy only boiled eggs were provided for breakfast. cold coffee. drank juice only and jam with continental brekky. went out looking for something to eat in the morning.
Review 36:located closer to the cruise terminal, however, we had to pay for the taxi to be taken to the cruise terminal in Citavechia. few minutes away were some restaurants, which were good to have dinner over looking the ocean. Its a good hotel and views, ok to stay as a transit.
Review 37:Hotel arranged transportation to our cruise ship. Transfer arrived 45 minutes late.
Review 38:Location was excellent. Great for walking around and local restaurants
Review 39:Close proximity to town with walking access to restaurants, shops and the beach. Close to banks and the port. Friendly town with excellent restaurants!
Review 40:Without prior advice they moved us to another nearby hotel without any explanation! Booking.com should take this hotel of their list. Going to the cruise ship from the hotel proved a terrible experience as there no taxis to be found anywhere! One is better off to stay in Rome overnight and travel direct to the shop.
Review 41:Small slow elevator
Review 42:Front desk staff were very helpful. Provided map of the town and made suggestion as to where to eat. Arranged for a taxi to take us to the ship.
Review 43:Hotel looks tired, and the lift is very small
Review 44:good location, friendly and helpful staff.A reasonable breakfast is included.and free wifi.good eateries nearby.
Review 45:No room safe. Kettle needed to be put on the floor, as flex not long enough. Not many power sockets for chargers.had to askfor coffee sachets and milk. Coffee not hot at breakfast.
Review 46:Walk in wardrobe. Fantastic sea view. Quiet location. Good lift. Superb shower in a grotto/cave, for two. Bidet. Minibar. Kettle in room.
Review 47:No tea facilaties.and no safe in the rooms...The staff in the dining room spoke little English...Had to ask for Hot water ,Every morning...Coffee not hot...The bread was very sweet????Poor service in the dining room...People working on the front desk ,spoke poor English.
Review 48:free internet...sea views rooms...
Review 49:The picture of this room looked nothing like it. If you sat on the end of the bed, your knees touched the wall. I knew as soon as I walked in that I wouldn't like it. Also, the bathroom light was a light bulb attached to the mirror. Really??? I'm surprised that booking.com had this hotel on their site. The room also smelled.
Review 50:Nothing, we checked in and went to look for another room. We found one next to it so we checked out within an hour.
Review 51:The terrace was wonderful, but needed a bit of TLC and updating. Some of the steps were cracked and the wall render needed attention, and painting. Sadly, the hotel owners didn't put any outside furniture out there. I couldn't help but think that with a bit of money spent on this terrace and some patio chairs/table etc this terrace would just be magnificent!
Review 52:The room was huge! As was the bathroom, you could get 6 people in the shower! And a sea-view terrace I paced out to be about 5 metres by 9 metres!
Review 53:Nice view, nice bathroom with tub. the staff was friendly and helpful. convenient to train station and ship. our room had a lovely view of the sea. reasonably priced.
Review 54:Very small shower, mould on tiles. Furniture, old and marked. Hardest bed for whole trip. The cleaner walked into my room without knocking. Elevator unreliable.
