Reviews for Kiyotaki Ryokan
Review 1:the staff was kind and friendly. we had breakfast once and it was delicious. it was on a small yet very busy street, but other than that, the location was great!

Review 3:Comfortable, big, clean and calm traditional tatami room. The owner so kind and welcoming. Dont miss breakfast. The best miso soup ever!!
Review 4:Bathroom too tricky to find and placed quite far away from our room. Toilet next to our room is for men only whereas to get to female/male ones is a twisting of corridors up and down the stairs. Host not making effort to engage so we felt quite detached from the host and place for two days of our stay.
Review 5:good location

Review 7:1. I arrived in Hikone with a very pain knee. I could not walk. On arrival at Kitoyaki Ryokan, the boss, on his own accord, drove me to their local hospital. He even left words to the hospital staff to call him when the treatment is over so that he could drive us back. He was busy, so he sent his wife to drive us back to the ryokan2. Dinner order was over. He knew we were hungry, so he gave us 2 packs of instant soba. A little later, he come to our room, thro a translater, to say that he could prepare dinner for us, but to wait for 15 minutes. Then he personally delivered the dinner to the room, knowing that I could not walk. It was thro his kindness and thoughtfuless that my knee is healed and we can continue our trip. Just if someone can help to translate and convey our heartfelt thanks to him and his family. Photos showed 1. The instant soba 2. The dinner that he personally delivered 3. The sumptuous breakfast
Review 8:Nice traditional ryokan, with friendly staff (who try their best to communicate in English). (they even gave us a lift to the train station) Good value for money, clean rooms, comfy futons.
Review 9:-This is a traditional ryokan with a very nice owner who picked us up from the station and took us back. -The place was very nice an clean. The room was comfortable and peaceful. -Some staff speak English who are very nice and helpful. -A walk through the town and castle is quite nice. Very old traditional Japanese place.
Review 10:It was a bit far from the station and the castle.
Review 11:First time staying in a Japanese inn, it couldn't have been better. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, they even took us to the station by car the day we left.
Review 12:Nothing. Only issue may be that you must go up and down some stairs, so not recommended for anyone with difficulties walking.
Review 13:Wonderful Japanese inn. It is a very simple place, with no extra frills, but just what we needed after a long drive. Slept very well with the AC on. Hikone itself is a quiet, delightful town. Excellent value for money and very nice staff.
Review 14:the toilet and bathrooms were super clean. the room was spacious and very clean. mr kiyotaki told us the best route to see tne hikone castle and cherry blossoms. we will surely recommend ryokan kiyotaki to our friends.
Review 15:Not really confortable, but can be fixed if you ask for an additionnal "mattress". The smell of smoke in the room. A little bit far away from the station when you are fully packed...15-20 minutes walking. But you can ask the host to give you a drive to the station.
Review 16:The realxing atmosphere of the village. The typical restaurants and bars you can find. Nothing to do with touristic atmosphere and great to get to now local people. The hosts were very nice nd trying to do their best to understand us even if they don't speak English. It has been the greatest experience for us during our trip!!!!
Review 17:Maybe, it was my fault, I never stay in Ryokan before, it is not suitable for a child, cause when a child is crying, every one can hear it.
Review 18:I like the price not that high and not that far from Hikone Train Station, Taxi is not costly to go to hotel, good price not more than 1,000 Yen, do not walk if you travel many people, better taking taxi than train, because only one station, somehow, walking is not far distance from Hikoneserikawa Station to hotel, but there is none 7-11 or Lawson near by, you must buy things before going inside hotel, by the way 7-11 is available at Hikone Station, but it is closed at 10 pm, i think, i always missed it cause i go back hotel late every night. JR Pass is inlcluded till Hikone, but not included from Hikone to Hikoneserikawa, also next to the Hikone Castle and Biwa Lake as well.
Review 19:The location quite far from train station about 800 m.
Review 20:The owner is good take care and service mind even he is not goodd in English language but he tried the best to understand us, thanks;)
Review 21:This ryokan is located in the red light district and surrounded by questionable businesses. The owner was very odd, and asking about common services (e.g. borrowing cutlery) was met with surprise and annoyance. We constantly felt like our presence was a bother to the staff, even though one of our party spoke Japanese.
Review 22:The owner was really helpful, even thought the guesthouse is a bit far from JR station, the owner drove us to the station, when we asked him any hot spring in Hikone, he also drove us to a very good local big one, and gave us his mobile number, when we finished just called him to pick us up. Wonderful services. Even though his English is not good, he tried his best to help.
Review 23:The ryokan is not easy to spot... Walls are really thin and thus do not expect to sleep late!
Review 24:Nice staff, about 15mn walk to the Hikone castle. One clean shared bathroom. Parking available for 2 cars.
Review 25:Very nice staff, the landlord gave us a lift to the station Very spacious hostel, room size was good as well. In walking distance to Hikone station (without luggage that is)
Review 26:Great and helpful staff, good location and value for money.
