Reviews for Hotel Sirenetta
Review 1:Wi-fi did not work in the rooms, only on the hallway. A bit of 1970s interiors in the rooms.
Review 2:Perfect location next to beach and close to Fiumicino airport. Area felt safe and tidy. Very nice breakfast buffet. Spacious and clean rooms with balconies to the beach (road in between). Good shower.
Review 3:Shower-cabin could be cleaned from upcomming mold...
Review 4:nice small hotel, beautifully decorated, extremely friendly staff, good breakfast. Highlevel-room was perfect, with a huge seafront terasse. Much more than You expect from a 3-star hotel.
Review 5:Only negative was the heat was not turned on and it was only 10 degrees outside. Very cold in room.
Review 6:The Front desk staff and the nice lady in the breakfast room were awesome. Great location with walking distance to restaurants, shops and train station. Rooms are smallish but have great big terraces facing the sea.
Review 7:Reception, nice room with wonderful ocean view, nice linens and clean and comfortable--- also after my 25 year old daughter dropped me at airport she went to beach and her car was broken into and all of her money, credit cards, passport and her journal were stolen... My daughter went back to La Sirenetta and I feel so thankful to the lady there (owner?) who very kindly and compassionately gave her money and fed her and arranged for another night there. Thank you so very very much for your kindness and care to her! I feel very grateful for your help. Exceptional
Review 8:Beds were uncomfortable. WiFi didn't work in the room.
Review 9:The lobby restaurant dinner was delicious! Our room had everything we needed for our stay with a view across the road to the ocean. I imagine this is a great place for a beach stay. We were overnighting before our flight home in the off-season so most everything was closed for the season.
Review 10:No bad experience here ?
Review 11:Excellent location opposite the beach lovely large balcony overlooking the sea clean room and good size bathroom 10 minutes walk to the train station easy to get to Rome Central very friendly and helpful staff love the Sirenetta. This is our 2nd stay at this hotel and are planning to go there again soon. ❤️ Rome ❤️
Review 12:Nothing really, but the rooms could be enhanced if there were tea/coffee making facilities (although not particularly common in this area).
Review 13:Excellent location on the seafront at Ostia. Walking distance to the Metro station (to Rome). Rooms quite well appointed, comfy beds, with good bathroom and good sized balcony overlooking the sea. Clean and tidy. Breakfasts were typical continental, with a reasonable selection and nice coffee to order (complimentary) from the bar.
Review 14:Nothing bad, possibly a little variation to the breakfast, gets a bit samey after a while.
Review 15:Have stayed here before, staff friendly and helpful. Good views from bedroom terrace. Friendly dog, Matita. Fridge running silently in bedroom is a bonus.
Review 16:Great location, great view. Literally 10 min. leisurely walk to train station & grocery store right beside it. The picked us up at the airport & staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating our non-Italian language! The restaurant attached to the Hotel was one of the best meals we ate during our entire time in Italy. Would highly recommend this place.
Review 17:We came in after dark and I didn't love walking the 5-7 minutes through the neighborhoods to get to the hotel. If I came back I would plan to arrive during the daylight hours when it would feel safer.
Review 18:Staff was very helpful. Our room looked over the Sea and was spacious and clean. This place is easy to get to from the Metro Line B with one transfer. Cheap to get to from Rome!
Review 19:Nothing
Review 20:Liked the Art Deco style, staff friendly and helpful, provided map and guidebook so we could spend the evening in Rome. Attractive seaside location, near metro station, clean and comfortable, good value for money.
Review 21:Rooms are very small, sparse and dated but once again that is pretty much expected in Italy. We booked this hotel in large part because there was a lift, however the lift doesn't help you to get from parking to the lobby which is up a flight of stairs...
Review 22:Location was good - walking distance to what there is to see in Lido, including several restaurants. The staff were helpful, rooms were clean, balcony was nice with a view of the ocean (although they could do something about the shabby balcony furniture). All in all a good place for a night when flying out the next day.
Review 23:Nice little town right on the beach a quiet pedestrian shopping district around the corner from the hotel. A peaceful break from Rome and only 1 1/2 euros to Rome by train. The hotel is small and well loved by the people working there.
Review 24:Small elevator, stroller will not fit. Poor wifi in our room on 1st floor. Small breakfast buffet.
Review 25:Good location, beach across road. Good size rooms and big bed. Helpful staff. Clean rooms. Good resturant.
Review 26:The walls are really thin you can actually hear all the action from ur next room guests,
Review 27:What not to like !!!! This place is amazing the best price at time of booking, amazing staff, love the location (I am a beach person) Rooms are what you pay for simple but comfortable, they have two amazing dogs (take care if you have allergies from dogs since they stay at the lobby).
Review 28:Easy drive to Ostia Antica and Fiumicino Airport. In close proximity to restaurants in pedestrian area. Booked at very short notice and ended up with room with superb terrace overlooking beach. Staff welcoming and helpful. Varied breakfast. Excellent value for money for what we paid.
Review 29:All good forgot to mention there is a fridge in the room as well
Review 30:Lovely small hotel, felt very welcome as soon as we walked in the door. Federico and the Front reception staff could not do enough for us, gave us a lovely seaview room with a balcony, allowed us a late checkout – to 7pm for an extra 30 euro only, printed boarding passes and hotel reservations for our upcoming trip to Bangkok – they were great. A very nice lady in the breakfast room, they had coffee and tea but she made us capucino’s and latte’s as well. Nice breakfast, good variety. Hotel very cosy, felt like you were someone’s home, good sized rooms, across the street from the beach and walking distance to many excellent restaurants and shops. Parking was free and they had their own covered car park out back. Wifi worked well throughout the property . We will be back on our way through Rome!
Review 31:Very nice Hotel close to the beach. Everything is clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful and has a very good command of English. Highly recommended!
Review 32:Never had a bad experience here. Front desk staff are always friendly and helpful.
Review 33:We always stay at La Sirenetta before our flights out of Fiumicino. A short train ride into Rome, and many wonderful seafood restaurants within walking distance.
Review 34:The breakfast is still disappointing for British tastes. There should be a better choice of cereals, especially needs muesli type and crunchy cereals with nuts and fruit.
Review 35:Very friendly and helpful staff. A homely atmosphere. I like the Ostium restaurant
Review 36:Shuttle bus from/to the airport are very expensive and alternative public services don't reach the hotel (you have to walk 800 my on foot)
Review 37:Location is good as it is in front if the sea and theoretically very close from the Airport. Staff is very welcoming, polite and professional.
Review 38:The location was perfect, directly across from the beach. The lobby was decorated in a fun way with antiques and a homey atmosphere. The driver that took us back to the airport was very nice and knowledgeable about local history.
Review 39:The internet connection was REALLY BAD! Had to use my 3G instead of WiFi. The air-conditioning didn't work, there was no key to lock the safety-box.
Review 40:The location is great (close to both railway station and to the sea shore), the staff is very friendly. Breakfasts were good as well. No noise from outside.
Review 41:The neighborhood was somewhat rundown.
Review 42:The young man at the front desk was very helpful. The restaurant was terrific with wonderful service and fantastic food. The room was comfortable.
Review 43:Not very much to dislike.
Review 44:the name says it all...........SIRENE....what a view of the sea & beach. Highly recommend, especially now that it has been updated & contains a restaurant. This property has been my eve of departure back to USA for the past 5 year.......hope it will be for 5 or more years to come. Give it a try. Also has parking area, as a plus, if necessary
Review 45:The only problem was that the Internet wasn't working.
Review 46:We've stayed here before and really enjoy it. The room had a beautiful ocean front view. The restaurant Ostium, associated with the hotel serves excellent and delicious food!
Review 47:The wifi went in and out and the bed was average in comfort.
Review 48:We were on our honeymoon and the staff went above and beyond to give us special surprises..including the best room in the hotel, flowers, champagne, and the best service!
Review 49:Everything was just fine.
Review 50:I was traveling from Rome with my partner and our stay was an enjoyable one. Very friendly and professional staff, ready to help with an iron board (delivered to my room in minutes), a great tip on a nearby restaurant (Zi Caterina - 150m from hotel - great seafood Neapolitan style with great staff) and with indications on the area..3 things from three different people so a great reflection on the quality of service at this hotel. Well done guys!
Review 51:The shower room was grouse, all mold between the tiles and on the ceiling and the toilet seat was hanging off. The outside sitting area furniture would have been nice if they had given then a lick of paint, they looked worn. The staff were friendly but they had a pet dog running in and out of the hotel. The room was big and the bed and sheets were clean. Breakfast was of for continental.
Review 52:The fact that it was right on the sea front.
Review 53:No Elevator - I would say fairly common in Italy, though. Would be nice if Shower facility is a bit better.
Review 54:Spacious room, some room has wide terrace. very close to the Sea. slightly away from town center, you can enjoy quiet atmosphire. Nice staff and dog!
Review 55:Had trouble accessing Wifi.
Review 56:Very helpful staff and very clean. We used the restaurant 4/7 evenings. Limited menu but very good quality. Would recommend the Tiramisu!
Review 57:Wi-fi although generally good, had some interruptions in our room. Breakfast was very limited in choice with mostly (only) sweets and not everythings was really fresh. It seems all the beaches in Lido Di Ostia are privately owned (and expensive), hotels usually don't offer their own free private beach.
Review 58:This hotel is convenient for those looking for a night to stay in between the flights from Rome. It is very close to Leonardo Da Vinci airport and staff can organize an affordable shuttle service. Staff was generally the best we encountered so far in Italy. This hotel is also good for those visiting Lido di Ostia (Beach) and Rome (sightseeing) as it is in a convenient location for both.
Review 59:Although the staff was friendly, we didn't receive a very warm welcome or the feeling of being appreciated as a guest. We didn't receive a lot of information about the area or possible day trips. The hotel doesn't provide a private strip of beach. That leaves you with two options. 1) A private beach is located right across the street of the hotel. It is very calm and there are mostly families. An umbrella and a sunbed cost 20 Euros per person. 2)The public beach is 300m away from the hotel. We do not recommend going there, since it is very crowded and loud. Also there will be a lot of persistent vendors. Also, besides the beach, there isn't a whole lot to do in Ostia.
Review 60:We enjoyed eating at the hotel's restaurant very much. The waiters were very friendly and the food was excellent. Especially for us being vegan/vegetarian, we enjoyed the wide range of vegan and vegetarian menus. And the ambiente was very pleasing. We had a room with a roof-top terrace, with a wonderful view over the ocean, that made up for the relatively small room. We recommend to opt for a room with a terrace/balcony with ocean view. The train station isn't too far away and we quickly arrived at Ostia Antica, a wonderful place.
Review 61:The hotel is lacking with the choice of the facilities, but that would probably change the price
Review 62:Sea side location and a room with the sea view for a reasonable price were the reason I have chosen this hotel.
Review 63:The two owners and their staff are very helpful and friendly. We are vegans & it was no trouble to them to serve us a very nice vegan meal on the terrace of their restaurant. Loved their two friendly dogs.
Review 64:The elevator is not very helpful if you have large bags or claustrophobia, you're better off taking the stairs.
Review 65:The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating as I had to leave before breakfast was officially served, and I had to get a last minute taxi to the airport. I would definitely stay here again when I am in Ostia.
Review 66:Privat parking is not suited for large cars. We drove a Fiat Panda and a large car would not fit in the given parking space.
Review 67:Close to airport Friendly staff
Review 68:Small complaint--the bathroom was very small.
Review 69:The location was very nice--across the street from the beach. There were not any hotels directly on the beach--there were cabanas and chair and umbrella rental businesses.
Review 70:For the three nights of our stay, we ate dinner in the hotel restaurant because of the wonderful food. The wait staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The quality of food was outstanding.
Review 71:although the hotel is right across the sea, no direct free beach access is possible - by foot at 15min there is a free beach
Review 72:lido di ostia is a pleasant place with a rather beach-like atmosfere - connection to rome takes 30min by train and costs 1.5 euro single - the hotel is situated at 10 min by foot from the train station - the hotel provided me with a free bicycle
Review 73:The floor of the room felt sticky and needed a good mop. The lift is very small so don't bring large suitcases.
Review 74:Friendly staff who recommended a good restaurant to us. Decor is very 1940s 1950s loved it. Perfect for the summer.
Review 75:Bedroom a little small
Review 76:We stayed in a double room with terrace and sea view. Huge terrace! Great view, large bathroom, good air conditioner, free secure parking. Just a few blocks from shopping and restaurant area.
Review 77:everything was very good except the wifi, it was slow and disconnects. I got the warning from the receptionist about that before i check-in and i was fine about that.
Review 78:Very helpful stuff and very informative.
Review 79:We would have liked WiFi in the bedroom but could get it in the public areas, & anyway the sea view from the bed was fantastic.
Review 80:The staff were super friendly & helpful. Veronica arranged an excellent piazza for us when we arrived late in the evening & recommended a fantastic gelateria. Decor in the public areas is charming.
Review 81:it is shame it doesn't belong to airport district , we came at night and the taxi drivers didn't want to take us , this is just 8 k'm from airport and we payed for 10 Euro X 4 people = 40 . Euro .
Review 82:great place just next to the beach . good stuff open 24 hours a day . very clean and pleasent
Review 83:Unfortunately the first night I was there I was disturbed by noisy inconsiderate guests in the adjacent room and the walls are very thin.
Review 84:Room with a balcony with sea view. Could borrow a bicycle and ride to the pine forest. Friendly helpful staff. The hotel dog who could not only catch a ball but throw it as well!! Beach just over the road.
Review 85:The wifi was not working but this was not hotels fault but system provider's.
Review 86:Overlooking beach, very obliging staff, secure parking, near choice of restaurants.
Review 87:wifi was weak on the top floor. didn't find any great restaurants around. especially ones with non seafood options.
Review 88:we got a room with an ocean view, and it was amazing. the weather was perfect and the room was clean and spacious. it was calming and relaxing to be there. the staff were helpful and the wifi was good in the lobby. good bakery/pastry places nearby.
Review 89:The fact that I didn't notice the little fridge in the room - I didn't expect it to be black:))), which means I'm a proper 'deficiente':)
Review 90:Matita, very professional and friendly service, Matita, excellent breakfast (at last lots of food for vegetarians!) and Matita, of course.
Review 91:We've spent there just one night before the flight - nice place near the sea, good breakfast, helpful staff, transfer to the airport 15 euro - everything was good!
Review 92:Roll-away bed of poor standard.
Review 93:Nice location close to the beach. Vey good breakfast buffet in restaurant with sea view. Friendly and helpful staff.Clean and nice room.
Review 94:The entrance to the room has a quick step down, kind of uncomfortable, and no luggage stand.
Review 95:The location was great and the balcony was 3x as big as the room!!! Views are stunning, staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet was adequate. Transportation was organized by the hotel and perfect. 15.00 EU Great restaurant across the Street. I arrived late and left early but all in all it was a pleasant stay. will return when I visit my friend in Ostia.
Review 96:Great for overnight stay before going to Leonardo da Vinci[Fiumicino] airport AND with a great view! Newly renovated. Highly recommend at a very reasonable price.
Review 97:A little noise from other rooms. Wi fi in my room on 2nd floor kept cutting out for a second or 3, which was frustrating.
Review 98:Nice and warm. Friendly staff. Convenient location. Easy parking.
Review 99:Very little else in the area to do - only one place to actually have a reasonably priced meal at night. Station not as close and accessible as was suggested and with luggage it was quite a challenge!!
Review 100:Lovely place to stay away from Rome but still be accessible to the city. Beach (black sand) and water were beautiful.
Review 101:The staff was gracious , good natured, and most helpful. They recommended an excellent restaurant within walking distance from the hotel. Public areas very comfortable for reading.
Review 102:- Room without internet
Review 103:- Friendly staff - Wide choice of food at breakfast - 500 meters from the train station - At the airport 30 minutes from the train station - Terrace with sea view - Clean rooms
Review 104:Excellent staff, they gifted us their best room with an amazing balcony and view of the sea. Wi-fi worked great in the room and appears to be available throughout the hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast room was very nice, you could see the beach. They have organized an easy shuttle service to the airport (7.5e). Good hotel for a beach vacation and visiting Rome center via train station which is close to this hotel (walking distance).
Review 105:Wifi disconnected after 1 minute or so, and only worked in the lobby. But we didn't really need it, so no problem.
Review 106:People in reviews above complain about noise coming from the street, but I suppose it's the high season and beach area. Now, in October, it is perfectly calm and nice.
Review 107:- Sound insulation was not very good, but luckily i had earplugs. - Restaurants around the hotel often charge extra, be careful. Eg. I ordered a small salad but they tried to charge for a big one.
Review 108:- Great view to the Mediterranean from the balcony - Air conditioning worked - Well cleaned room - Travel books for lend - Nice personnel - Close to a public beach (200 meters south from the hotel) - Fruit for breakfast - Room can be fully darkened during nighttime - Short bus trip from the airport
Review 109:Breakfast selection is very poor. Please get some decent cereals (muesli,. crunchy cereals with fruit and nuts, fruit and fibre or similar).
Review 110:Great location, near family we were visiting in Ostia. Friendly and flexible staff. Good English spoken. Clean and well kept rooms.
Review 111:Positively fantastic. If you are staying in the Amalfi Coast this is a perfect location. This is a family run B&B and they do an excellent job. The breakfast is awesome. I will stay here again on our next trip to Italy.
Review 112:MInor point - hadn't realised there were so many private beaches (for which you had to pay for) that blocked your immediate view of the sea, as the hotel was 'lungomare', but a 10 min walk took you to a public beach.
Review 113:We stayed at this hotel overnight as our daughter was travelling from Fiumicino early the following morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and airport transfer was arranged easily. Would definitely stay again.
Review 114:Busy location. Seaside holiday destination. Not the place for a romantic or quiet break.
Review 115:Very good location. 20 mins from Fiumicino airport - good to stay night before a flight. Very good breakfast - good choice and quality.
Review 116:The room to the street was rather loud and too expensive for that standard. The beach was a bit disappointing, because the water was not that clean.
Review 117:Fortunately there are regularly trains to get to Rome city. Friendly staff.
Review 118:Friendly staff especially Paolo on reception. Room was comfortable -nice firm bed and air con worked well. Excellent breakfast choice. Wifi in reception area only but worked well. Would definitely stay again.
Review 119:Narrow selection at breakfast, no good fruits
Review 120:Beach was near, friendly staff, center if the town also near, big terrace with view of the sea, nothing to complain, we enjoyed!
Review 121:First sight at Reception desk made me a bit low-spirited that I made mistake ... but, since that moment, everything went far above my expectations. Room perfectly clean and kept every day, simple but fresh and tasty breakfast, brilliant location close to the beach and station (just 30 min. to Rome center). Fast wifi and fridge ready for your own stuff. Get the seafront room with terrace, it is large and with stunning views ....
Review 122:Wlan is not stable. Alarm went on 3 times that night!!! The staff told, that was because of a smoking guest in the room; they know him and told him to refrain from smoking many times yet. - Obviously unsucessful. - Make sure no known smoker has checked in!
Review 123:There is all what you need on a basic level (very much better than in the hotel Pingpong nearby). Private parking space in this aera is excellent! Impressive travel poster collection of starting tourism industry in the beginning of the 20th century.
Review 124:This hotel is ideally located: very close to the beach and just 5-7 minutes walk from central station. Very nice and helpful staff. The room was very clean and with a fantastic terrace with a seaview. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other tourists.Excellent value for your money
Review 125:Not relative to the hotel, but the private beaches are very expensive, if the hotel could get a deal with a beach it would be nice.
Review 126:Easy access to the beach and to the metro/train to Rome. Very cheap train and bus travel. lovely room with balcony and view over the front at Lido di Ostia
Review 127:Love the honest retro feel and decor of the hotel. A lovely clean place to stay and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly too!
Review 128:Weak wifi signal
Review 129:It is well located in front of the beach, clean, good breakfast, simple and profesional stuff.
Review 130:The staff was very helpful, letting the weary travelers into their rooms early. The adjacent restaurant was very convenient. Nice breakfast.
Review 131:Nothing to tell
Review 132:we had a nice terasse roof top with view on ocean Breakfast was ok Staff very friedly
