Reviews for Comfort Hotel Hikone

Review 1:There was no WIFI. It just didn't work and they didn't have anything to do to help me. For 1.5 frustrating hours, various staff members, who tried to solve the problem without knowing what a router/access point is, came to my room to say they were sorry. Only after that they agreed to move me to a different floor where there is a different working network (even though that's what I asked for to begin with and I really don't understand why it was necessary to go through this useless proccess if the room on the other floor was empty the whole time). Besides that - breakfest was poor and unappealing. There was a butter knife but no butter and the staff started taking food trays full of food back to the kitchen 15 minutes before breakfest time was over.

Review 2:Great location (for hikone. But I wouldn't recommend going to hikone at all...) The staff was really nice and tried to be helpful.

Review 3:I was only able to book a non-smoking room which meant that I had towalk to the station every time I wanted to smoke as this is the closestsmoking area. So if you are a smoker make sure to book a smoking room, especially during the rainy season.

Review 4:The bed was very comfortable and the facilities (especially the coinlaunderette) were useful. Friendly staff and wonderful town. A fewreviews have said that this side of the town doesn't have as much tooffer as the other side of the train station but there are amazingtemples and walking routes here.

Review 5:1.The room can get pretty hot and stuffy.

Review 6:1.Across the street from the train station. 2.Awesome breakfast. 3.Free Wifi 4.Incredibly clean! 5.Polite and professional Staff.

Review 7:i like how the staff really tries to help and understand you even thought there is a communication barrier. I so love the breakfast!!! It is so near the train station and the electronic shop!

Review 8:tiny room for two persons although we had asked for an extra bedsheet, we only got an extra blanket without sheet

Review 9:the location next to the station is very convenient breakfast

Review 10:Hotel is near to Railway station - just 2 -3 mins walk . Place is quiet and suitable to us to rest. We also enjoy free coffee provided by the hotel.

Review 11:Had minor problem with staff's knowledge on Takkyubin service and didnt complete info correctly. They called me on home cell instead of my Japanese cell so incurred additional unnecessary cost.

Review 12:Location location location...we took train to Kyoto for 3 days with no problems.

Review 13:Small double bed, room for two persons is small with 2 large suitcases.

Review 14:Perfect, across the street from the JR Station. Walking distance to restaurants.

Review 15:The hotel is behind the train station, less than 5 min. walking distance, which was great for us since we traveled by train. All the personal spoke in English and were very polite and professional. The room was tiny but had everything you needed (even though a yukata!) and was clean. The japanese breakfast was fine. I recommend this hotel to everybody!

Review 16:really close to Aeon Town and the station!

Review 17:The staffs are helpful. I came to the hotel slightly earlier than the check in time, and they arrange the room for me when I arrived.

Review 18:Not really a complaint but this is a bland/clinical place -no atmosphere but it was a good one night stop

Review 19:Clean, nice breakfast . Close to JR.

Review 20:Friendly and convenient

Review 21:Accessible to station and nearby shops. Very helpful staff.

Review 28:The pillows. They were very uncomfortable. The check in time.

Review 29:Good location to JR station. New area developed. Good breakfast

Review 30:Good location (if you need to be near the train station). Excellent value for money. Good (free/Japanese/American) breakfast. Functional and clean room (if somewhat a little bit small)

Review 31:Walking distance from the castle (15min) great for 1 night stay, very close to the station. Breakfast has westernand japanese options. Coffee is complementary during the stay.

Review 32:We stayed here for just one night and literally did nothing in the hotel but sleep and shower in the morning. Not much to say about it but seemed decent enough. Right across the road from the train station, but a bit of a walk (30-40 minutes) from the main area of town. Would be happy to stay here again if in the area.

Review 33:The location was perfect, so close to the station as we are travelling on a rail pass. The hotel was brand new and included a breakfast buffet. The room was small but well appointed and quiet. The walk to the castle was about 15 minutes with lots of restaurant options on the way.

Review 34:Thought it was near Lake Biwa, but it is not so. Found out too late that it is quite within walking distance.

Review 35:Closeness to JR station, but in a ver quiet area. Easy access to the local sights. Welcome cuppa while checking in.

Review 36:No complaints.
