Reviews for Hotel Grand Cetinje

Review 1:One thing to bear in mind: the swimming pool is very deep - perhaps built for water polo - so would only be recommended for confident swimmers and not those accompanying young children.

Review 2:Very central, and actually rather atmospheric - it really would have been one of the top hotels of Yugoslavia in its day, and if you like retro fittings (but well maintained) it's fab. The staff were extremely helpful (for instance providing a cot for our little boy, although one was not advertised). There is even a swimming pool.

Review 3:Absolutely central, friendly helpful staff and a room with nothing to miss - so perfect and recommendable ! Old fashioned ( 80's ) socialistic buildung from former Joguslavia. The name "Grand Hotel" is not correct by serving a very cheap breakfast.....for that rommprice at least !

Review 4:No hot water for 2 days. swimming pool too cold to swim in. Very basic and dated sauna and shower.

Review 5:Location in the city. Staff helpful, although no English spoken.

Review 6:No WIFI outside the very cold foyer Soft beds Paper thin walls - could not sleep as the people next door sounded like they where imy room - no Sound insulation No gluten free breakfast as ordered but loads if meat for those who like

Review 7:Weirdness Amazing to experience what it was like in Montenegro 50 years ago Good location for the quirky interesting town

Review 8:Room not very well appointed. No water in room or hotel from 1700 to 2300. Breakfast quite disgusting. Coffee not replenished for the half hour we spent eating tasteless muesli and drinking weak orange squash. So unhappy with our stay we made vigorous complaint as a result of which they gave us a complimentary stay.

Review 9:Really just the location.

Review 10:Too old and not reformed. The breakfast is terrible.

Review 11:WiFi and park around this hotel.

Review 12:A trip back to the communist era.

Review 13:Not much

Review 14:Was a five star hotel when it opened in 1984, now three stars and falling … In need of some mayor repairs and upgrading. Undrinkable coffee at and very east-oriented breakfast buffet

Review 15:the 'soviet-ness' of the place. A time capsule. Should be heritage protected and restored with public money!

Review 16:There was no wifi in the room, only in the lobby, which was unconfortable because it meant that you had to sit near the reception in order to connect to the internet, which was very inconvenient, especially if you were on a business trip and needed to do work. There was no hairdrier in the room, which meant you had to ask at the reception (and they would provide you with one) and there was not a person at all times there. Had to ring the bell. Despite this shortcomings, the staff was nice and very helpful and I would recommend this hotel for future stay

Review 17:Very friendly staff, trying hard to please customers. Nice breakfast and restaurant General atmosphere of the hotel is enchanting, although from a slightly older period.

Review 18:- Pigeon droppings in balcony - Dirty shower curtain - Mould in bathroom ceiling - TV and frigobar out of order - Frigobar with smell of Prsut - Receptionist did not answer phone when called - No wifi in room - B'fast though good in content, should be better organised

Review 19:Close to city centre, breakfast was good.

Review 20:Fascinating place! A real grand hotel were time had stood still for at least 30 years. Felt sometime like a 'hotel museum'. But good service, good beds, clean rooms.

Review 21:Rather run down communist-era hotel badly in need of a face lift. Shower didn't attach to wall, tub was permanently marked, we were afraid to open the window as one hinge was broken, door jam was broken. We wouldn't return.

Review 22:The bed was comfortable.

Review 23:pigeon poo all over the balcony, very cold and deep pool, breakfast very old fashioned communist era, lousy coffee rotten meal in town, so bad we didn't have to pay for most of it

Review 24:easy to find, close to bus station, the taxi knew where it was swimming pool, nice town but stay somewhere small and independent, guest room or pension

Review 25:It was very difficult to get any hot water despite running for 10 minutes or more. Buffet breakfast on first morning was poor (especially the luke-warm tea from an urn), the table service on the second day was much better, with delicious, freshly made omelettes. Apart from a business seminar group there were few other guests to be seen.

Review 26:We had an apartment with 2 bathrooms (one with bath & shower over, one with shower) and a fantastic view over the presidential palace and gardens.

Review 27:Staying on 2nd floor with only few more guests there, hot water had to be run for 10-15 min before we could have shower.

Review 28:Nice staff, great location. We had apartment, it was very spacious. It is old communist time hotel, very big but our apartment was in really good condition. Also had electric heater we had to use.

Review 29:no hot water so cold room no internet no telephone

Review 30:people, staff, cofee

Review 32:No facilities, everything was closed...

Review 33:Faded glory...
