Reviews for Villa dei Giardini
Review 1:Not a very nice walk into San Leone. Best stick to driving if you stay here.
Review 2:Lovely, well-kept villa and gardens. Quiet and comfy room, pleasant outdoor terrace, and secure private parking. Ideal for staying near the Valle dei Templi if travelling by car. Hosts were charming and generous, and very patient with us not speaking Italian.
Review 3:The host was extremely helpful and hospitable. The room was charming and very well fittted out. The location was good. The breakfast was delightful.
Review 4:Breakfast was awesome but staff should be seen not heard Dinner staff was too stuffy and should not talk about their clients in the dialect. I understand it. Food did not merit the price. All else about the hotel was great?
Review 5:- our WLAN did not work - no communication in English possible
Review 6:- fantastic breakfast!!! - the most comfortable bed during our holidays - beautiful garden/location - fridge/kitchen and terrace
Review 7:Nothing at all.
Review 8:A delightful country setting in close proximity to the Valley of the Temples. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and attentative. A comfortable & well run B&B.
Review 9:Only two minor cons. It would be good to have real orange juice for breakfast (now it was some kind of watery lemonade). Also, you could hear some noise of the other rooms or floors, but nothing really worrying.
Review 10:Good location for visiting the nearby Valle dei Templi (5 minutes drive, I think there's also a bus line), also for Agrigento centre and some other spots in the area. Very friendly hosts, who welcome you personally upon arriving - just bear in mind that this is really a B&B and not a hotel, so the hosts are never far away. Also, they only speak Italian but thankfully understand some basic English or French. Excellent breakfast for Italian standards. Very clean and spacious room. Private parking place. Close to San Leone on the coast, quite a busy place but with several good places to eat.
Review 11:Having to leave!
Review 12:The property is really a garden, outside of a smaller town away from modern Agrigento. Recent construction, wonderful on-site owners, delicious breakfast and very comfortable room, located less than 10 minutes by car from the Valley of the Temples you'll have the best of experiences.
Review 13:Nothing bad to say about this place.
Review 14:Good airy room,Nice bathroom with good shower, comfortable bed, great breakfast, very friendly and helpful hosts, easy parking, close to area with restaurants.
Review 15:The room was very comfortable and clean, and the hosts were very friendly although they do not speak English, so it was a little difficult to converse with them. Breakfast was excellent, and they even made scrambled eggs for us. We enjoyed our stay there, although it was a little difficult to find the place at first.
Review 16:no, english. but always somehow speak. The elderly couple, who own house, is really trying.
Review 17:the staff took care of us, it was very nice. At the evening,we can siting on the common terrace and enjoy around the house. The breakfest was perfect.
Review 18:We loved the excellent breakfast spread and hospitality of our host. It was exceptionally easy to get from the house to the valley of the Temples. The area is a bit strange, but we knew this going into it, and once through the gates we felt as though we were in an oasis. A great option for the price.
Review 19:Nothing bad, but important to know: in order to reach all the sights and beaches around, you should have a car.
Review 20:Just a few kilometers outside of Agrigento, very near to the Valle dei templi and the beaches of San Leone. We had a great time at this lovely B&B with clean and bright rooms, with a nice view on the garden. The owners are very helpful and offer a good breakfast on the terrace.
Review 21:Road outside a bit scruffy (not owners' fault, of course).
Review 22:Friendly homely atmosphere. Meals on terrace. Very helpful owners. Good breakfast. Safe environment. Close to sites & away from town.
Review 23:Treated like house guests. Lovely owners. V helpful. Wonderful breakfast. Had bought in special food for my wife with dairy allergy. lovely gardens. Ideally situated for valley of temples and only 2 mins drive to restaurants at saint leone. Great value. Look no further!
Review 24:It helped knowing some Italian as the owners did not speak much English.
Review 25:We had a lovely room for 3 with a large terrace. The breakfast terrace had good views over the countryside. The breakfast was very good. You can walk to the coast (about a kilometre) for takeaway pizza and restaurants. The owners were very friendly and helpful.
Review 26:WiFi didn't work Toilet was across corridor from room but this was as advertised so can't complain
Review 27:Best breakfast in three weeks touring Sicily!!! Good location for temples Outside of main city of Agrigento so easy to drive to Surrounded by nice gardens
Review 28:The Villa dei Giardini was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Modern bathroom with large shower. Spacious bedroom with comfortable bedding. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The location was convenient to Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples. The owner went out of his way to assist with any requests. We had been involved in a car accident and he went above and beyond in trying to assist us. We left Villa dei Giardini feeling like family. Will definitely return.
Review 29:Nothing
Review 30:Away from the city, Villa del Giardini, is an oasis of calm and is within easy reach of the Greek Temples and nearby beaches. Homeliness rather than luxury, best describe this accommodation. One more thing. Breakfast was great!
Review 31:It was easy to find, a pleasant small house, clean rooms, and a lovely terrace overlooking the garden to enjoy the evening sun and a huge and delicious breakfast. The owner was extremely kind and helpful. There were loads of restaurants nearby at San Leone, and the Valley of the Temples, which we had come to see, was a few minutes away by car. Thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay.
Review 32:Maybe suggestion to install a small fridge in the room. Would make it absolutely perfect.
Review 33:All perfectly organized, good breakfast using local and selfgrown food. Room was beautiful and clean. Close to beach and temple area.
Review 34:The family that runs this b and b couldn't have been more helpful. They gave us a map and great advice about visiting the temples and the beaches and made us feel at home in their home, even letting us hang our wash in their back yard. Breakfast on the terrace was a great way to start the day. The location was quiet in a beautiful garden and the room was clean and comfortable.
Review 35:Very kind owners, helped us with a flat tire on saturday by searching someone who could repair it. Nice room upstairs, good breakfast on terrace with self-made cookies. Beautiful garden. We spent only one night. Beach nearby with a lot of restaurants. Close to Valle dei Templi and Scala dei Turki.
Review 36:Unfortunately, both cannot really speak English so we communication was solely possible in Italian (and ours wasn't great either). Furthermore, the place is fairly far from the town center. Whether you drive by car (5min) or you walk about 20min along a road which is not well illuminated and the pavement cannot be used sometimes because cars are parked on it. Even though we would have chosen it again.
Review 37:It's a lovely house with a huge garden. Breakfast is really good, even eggs prepared if wanted. It is served on the veranda. The owners are really taking care of you and take their time to explain to you all things to know around the area when you arrive. They really enjoy hosting people.
Review 38:Nothing.
Review 39:Giusy and her husband were wonderful hosts. The B&B is a very quiet garden setting with pretty olive trees and home-grown vegetables, exactly what we were looking for. Gaetano was very kind to give a tour of their giardini. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was hearty with home baked treats. A 10min drive to the Temples. Wifi was good. Car parking not an issue in their home. Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a quiet, good value, local but central location to the Temples and very nice, friendly hosts.
Review 40:very well looked after - thank you! Breakfast was a real treat.
Review 41:Homemade breakfast and the kindness of the staff

Review 55:Villa Giardini is close to the famous ancient sites.
Review 56:This is a really nice B&B. The family were very friendly and helpful. The rooms very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also very good.
Review 57:- Only Italian is spoken
Review 58:- Everything just perfect - Beautiful garden, lovely hosts, very calm neighborhood, private parking
Review 59:The hosts were more than accomodating and helped with travel plans in the area. The room was comfortable and well maintained. Grazie!
Review 60:Nice place and the room. Good breakfast.
Review 61:Not applicable
Review 62:Friendly hosts, quiet spot yet close to the city and highlights. Very Nice garden view from balcony. Clean room, comfortable, with WiFi and the breakfast was bellissima, good!
Review 63:Motor transport is recommended if you want to drop down to San Leone (the coastal nightspot) for a wide choice of eateries. Conversation had to be carried out via Google Translate.
Review 64:Lovely ambiance and layout. We had our own private bathroom Ideal location for the main attraction in Agrigento, the Valley of the Temples.
Review 65:Perfect location to visit Il Valle del Templi. Convenient parking place and beatiful gardens. Quiet area for a good sleep. Charming owners who offer a delicious breakfast with home made fruits.
Review 66:It is quite difficult to find the residence and hosts cannot explain how to find it in English. Breakfast is served outdoor, in April it was rather chilly.
Review 67:Wery friendly and helpful host. Comfortable rooms with good bathroom. Good breakfast. Perfect location for the Valley of Temples tour. The sea promenade with restaurants is in 1 km from the residence. Thanks to Gaetano for the recomendation to visit Scala dei Turchi!
Review 68:Rien- c'etait parfait.
Review 69:C'etait top! Real first class B&B. Very nice and attentive family. A phantastic breakfast with fresh bread and home made pastry. An excellent location to get to the Valle de templi. Surrounded by a beautiful garden. A few minutes drive to the seaside for a stroll by the sea. We highly recommend this B&B!
Review 70:Nothing - for the guests, they should remember that the hotel is in the San Leone part of Agrigento and not in Agrigento center.Once you know that and follow the signs to San Leone, very easy to find!
Review 71:The breakfast was stunning! It was the only place in Italy where you could get delicious bread (from a baker), a selection of cheeses and an egg! What a welcoming change from the standard cornetto! And the staff were incredibly helpful. We were severely delayed during our departure, they stayed up for us, with a smile on their faces. I would definitely stay there again
Review 72:Great place to relax and enjoy the life: the hosts are very friendly and helpful; with little knowledge of Italian we could talk to them perfectly and they gave us useful tips regarding where to eat and what to see. The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was great and reach. The garden is beautiful, and it was a pleasure to sit on the terrace in the evening, drink wine (ask the owner, he has a very good Nero d'Avola...) and enjoy the silence and smell of orange flowers.... Recommend to try cedro (Citrus medica), tastes great!
Review 73:The location was perfect for visiting the Valley of the Temples. The onsite parking was handy and the driveway is not as treacherous as others have commented. We had a very good breakfast.
Review 74:Nothing about the B & B. It was very nice. San Leone is not a particularly scenic town but it does have a beach and our priority was to not be in the city so it was a good location for us.
Review 75:A pretty garden setting in a good location at San Leone near Agrigento with private, safe parking which was a priority for us.. Close to the Valley of the Temples. Clean, comfortable room and friendly, helpful hosts. We also had a private balcony which was nice. Great breakfast with freshly baked goodies, cheese, fruit etc. We enjoyed our one night stay here and it was easy to get back on the highway for Siracusa the next day.
Review 76:Hotel staff were very nice and friendly. We especially liked the rooms and the gardens around the hotel. It was a lovely stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who intends to visit Agrigento.
Review 77:The room was a bit small, and we had been the feeling that the owner dothat mainly for business before getting in contact with other. ( couldbe due to the fact that they only speak Italian)
Review 78:The location, the beautiful garden, it was clean
Review 79:Hospitality of the owner was great even though we couldn't speak Italian we were able to communicate and if we had trouble the owners daughter who spoke English was only a phone call away. Lovely setting, beautiful gardens with olive trees. Breakfast was substantial a real country Sicilian breakfast! The only downside was the property was on the bend of a road which made it very tricky getting in and out of the driveway in a car. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.
Review 80:Hosts do not speak English.Thankfully we spoke Italian. If you don't speak any Italian you may find this difficult. The Wifi is FREE but not very good. We were unable to connect in our room and only out on the breakfast patio.
Review 81:We stayed with Our fabulous hosts Gaetano and Guisy at Villa De Giardinifor 3 nights. The B&B was great. The location is actually San Leone which is by the sea. The house is approximately a 6 minute drive to the Valley of he Temples. Gaetano and Giusy were very welcoming and wonderful hosts. Guisy prepares breakfast every morning with fresh home made bread and eggs cooked to your liking. The location is great, however we highly recommend having a car. You are unable to walk down to the beach and along the main foreshore from the Villa. It is a fair walk on foot, You would find it difficult to get around without a car. The villa is very secure with locked front gates and car parking provided. The rooms are spacious and very clean with each room having its own entry key. Shower pressure is great which is a bonus. Highly recommend staying at the Villa with your family, single or as a couple. We had a great stay and would visit again! Grazie mille Gaetano and Guisy Ciao Indovino famiglia
Review 82:San Leone - which is where the closest beaches are - is a quite dreary, ugly, overbuilt beach holiday resort town which gave me the feeling thatI was stepping into the "bad part of the town". I'drecommend fellow travellers to avoid it if possible.
Review 83:The host was very friendly and tried to help us to find our way aroundAgrigento. The breakfast was quite good, featuring a unforgettable home-made apple cake. Easy to get into the main road (SS115), so it was painless to get to Agrigento and do day trips around the region.
Review 84:We had a wonderful stay. The room was great, and the breakfast was the best on our trip, with several items home made. The rooms are upstairs in what seems a brand new renovation of a spacious home on a large garden, with the host/owners living on the ground floor. You stay in the small farm, country area rather than the city at this b&b yet you are less than 8 minutes by your car from the Valley of the Temples. Parking is perfect, definitely for those with their own transportation.
Review 85:I can't find any faults with this B&B
Review 86:Great location for the temples at Agrigento. Very friendly owners. Handy for the sea and restaurants at San Leone. Ample parking.
Review 87:The internet only worked on the verandah, wasn't a problem for us but others might not be happy.
Review 88:Friendly hosts, close to Agrigento temples, close to beach, very comfortable room, excellent varied breakfast.
Review 89:Ideal location for visitig Agregento and the coast side. The hosts are very friendly and do everything to make you feel at home. The lady of the house offered self-made pancakes (crepes), cake and cookies at breakfast. Delicious! A very nice selection of local bread, cheese and fruits.
Review 90:Room is on the smallish size and bathroom (private) is across the hall,as advertised. English is not spoken much, not necessarily a negative.
Review 91:Great location, with easy access to temple sites. Gaitano andGuisepina are wonderful hosts and very solicitous. Great breakfast andamazing garden!
Review 92:The place was all very basic (facilities, breakfeast). Location was far from beach and nearest city Agrigento. The moderate price though offers a good compensation.
Review 93:nearness to historic sites
Review 94:Driving by car, this is a very convenient location when you do not want to drive into the nearby Agrigento. Nice location in quiet villa surroundings, rather close to the sea. A welcoming host with a daughter who speaks excellent English. Good restaurants down in the seaside resort of San Leone.
