Reviews for Hotel Ping Pong
Review 1:Rooms lacked a mini bar. Decor tired. Hard to justify 3 star rating.
Review 2:Staff cheerful and efficient. Overall rooms very clean, breakfast better than expected.
Review 3:Ostia Lido is a great, laid-back place, right by the sea but near to Rome and Ostia Antica, a fantastic archaeological site. I've been 3 times now, and it's perfect for a combined holiday/sightseeing trip. Highly recommended. The Hotel Ping Pong suited me - good value for what I needed. But I hate that name!
Review 4:Room was a bit small, but OK for one person.
Review 5:Great location, great room rates, clean and tidy, nice (but compact) ensuite and a balcony with (limited) sea views. Everything worked fine. Compares favourably pricewise with similar hotels nearby on the seafront.
Review 6:Light and noise from rush street in front of the hotel. Ventilation apertures in all doors causing leaking of noise and cigarette smell from hotel. Very small shower cabine. Poor breakfeast consisting mostly from bread and sweet bakers ware. Old furniture.
Review 7:Distance from the sea. Quite clean.
Review 8:Liked the sea view and a large balcony equipped with a table, chairs and sun loungers. We ordered a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, very convenient. The train station was within walking distance.
Review 9:Bad conection on wi-fi
Review 10:Location Was super good close to Beach and to restaurant friendly and helpfull staff clean rooms good breakfast 10-15 min walk to supermarket and Trainstation Nice balkony on the 1 floor room that has an ocean view i stay there again
Review 11:Room too small and dirty cup in bathroom. But I still highly recommend this place and would return
Review 12:Quality, kindness and helpfulness of staff, and location.
Review 13:The wifi reception was iffy. To get into central Rome you need to change trains at Piramide (years ago you cold go directly on one train).
Review 14:The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was lovely and a very good value.
Review 15:Average hotel, suitable for just sleeping. Really nice staff. Clean rooms. Medium size room, average furnishing. They clean the room every day, change the towels, but not the bed sheets. The doors shut just by slamming, so prepare yourselves for hearing when your neighbors come and go. I'm a vegetarian, and found almost nothing to eat for breakfast (they had some sort of pizza with some tomato paste here and there, sliced cheese, toast, butter, honey, jam; not so good coffee- despite the fact that the Italians have amazing coffee).
Review 16:Breakfast should be upgraded a little, I missed to have some Ham toast, as no ham only cheese available, and no toaster. Otherwise very nice croissants / cakes and lovely cappuccino.
Review 17:Staff was friendly and helpful, central location and easy to locate upon arrival.
Review 18:The staff was not so friendly, always looked busy. It was quite clean, but the building needs some works, especially, on the balcony. The bed was OK, but it is tiny... I am not tall or big, and it was tiny for me, probably, Italian single size which seems much smaller than American single bed. Wifi did not work on the second floor, but we did not need it as we had 3G, but for some this can be short. I would say it is poor value for money as the cost and the overall did not claim for a better one, but I just do not know what is in that area in terms of other hotels.
Review 19:Facilities are good, you can find all the minimum someone would need, and a nice terrace in front of the building where you can have a drink, but very basic. Location was good and close to all we needed: beach, restaurants, street to walk - most Ostia can offer, but it is rather a boring place. Breakfast was very basic continental, 1 coffee (decent coffee which difficult to find in most hotels this level), 1 croissant and buffet of basic cereals, pies, cheese, etc. Overall, it was fine, I guess if you stay a night or two, but I would not go for longer and I would try to find a better place.
Review 20:Our room didn't have air conditioning which made it extremely hot at night as it was the end of July in Italy.
Review 21:We were very lucky to get a room with our own private terrace which had a beautiful view of the sea! The room was cleaned every day an we got fresh towels. If anything the breakfast was a little basic but otherwise can't fault the hotel.
Review 22:Payable beaches. The hotel was ok, but this city is not the best choice Access by public transport from airport is complicated. Taxi ca 35 euri.
Review 23:large veranda breakfast good price / quality ratio close to Ostia Antica good transport links to Rome
Review 24:shuttle to airport was confusing to make a reservation from airport to hotel. We had to take a public bus to the hotel. The shuttle to the airport was much better but the price was 20 euros for 2 people (not 15 as originally told)
Review 25:good price for location near airport and beach
Review 26:The hotel is very old & needs updating. For the price, we expected nicer accommodations. The room is very small...smallest room I've ever seen. (I travel for work every week, so I've seen a lot of hotels!) Security of room is also lacking. My husband could break in with a cerdit card. The wifi is poor quality...almost as if there is only 1 router for the entire hotel. It was intermittent the whole time I was using it. When it did work, it was very slow. The room was clean, but not comfortable. We had a room with a "double" bed. It was really just 2 twin beds pushed together. They kept sliding apart every time we moved. The breakfast was the only decent part of our stay. It was included in the price of room, which was good. Nothing hot was served, but traditional Italian pastries & juices were good. Airport shuttle, which was advertised as being included with room rate, actually cost us an additional 10 euros per person. I would not recommend this hotel.
Review 27:Convenient to beach & restaurants. However, beach closes at 7pm & there is a charge to enter the beach area.
Review 28:The Internet in the rooms could be better as we had to go to the bathroom to get signal.
Review 29:The hotel is grate its in a perfect location right in the hart of all the locals meeting point in the evening
Review 30:Small old elevator.(really small) No refrigerator in room. Miss a local map in reception. (for restaurants, shops)
Review 31:Close to beach. Nice balcony. Aircondition. Free transport to airport. Free wifi
Review 32:You had to pay to go to the beach it shows in the pictures. There is a minimal discount but you would think that paying the price you do that they could get you a voucher for at least a could of beach chairs for the duration of your stay and if you want upgrade to something bigger like a lounge chair you could pay the beach that extra....
Review 33:Proximity to the beach
Review 34:Excellent location for enjoying both beach and city. Beach is next to hotel, train station Lido centro is about 10 minutes walk. Room was clean with beautiful and large terrace.
Review 35:The gentleman checking me in gave me a room immediately despite my very early arrival. The place was comfortable and spotless. Additionally, the staff recommended 2 fantastic restaurants, both within walking distance. Great shuttle to the Rome Airport - warned me about the fire at the airport and made sure I got there early for my international flight.
Review 36:The room does not have a fridge, the breakfast which was ok but kindapoor is taken in a location outside the hotel with no WiFi.
Review 37:The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, we had balcony with seaview, the hotel is near the beach and although it looks strange onthe outside it's nicer inside, we found parking on the streetnext the hotel.
Review 38:The useless elevator and no-wifi in dining room. Very cramped shower(
Review 39:Its only 50m to paid beach and 300m to common beach! Near the pierce, ideal for romantic sunset view together... In 10min walk a lot of restaurants! Comfortable, clear, friendly! :)
Review 40:View of sea, clean, comfortable, no hassle place to stay, made our journey home from other parts of Italy pleasant and relaxing. we checked in, spent afternoon on the beach, and got to the airport on time in the morning. Only wish we'd booked in for a couple more nights!
Review 41:Wi-Fi didn't work in our room, water in the shower switched from freezing cold to extremely hot, it was nearly impossible to take shower
Review 42:clean, near the sea, 10-minute walk to the train station which takes you to Rome
Review 43:The walls were very thin and the hotel very noisy during the night. There was also a blinking green smoke detector light, just above my bed, that kept blinking every one or two seconds which kept me awake all night.
Review 44:The wifi connection was excellent and breakfast was good.
Review 45:Being charged 50% more for long-term booking than one made the day prior to arrival. Having to obtain a token from the front desk before each and every breakfast.
Review 46:Location on sea front and ease of parking
Review 47:very basic facilities
Review 48:Good budget hotel. 5 min walk from train station Lido Centro or from the airport bus. There is a supermarket near the train station. The breakfast is ok - you can ask for extra coffee :)
Review 49:Somehow it was too cold in the room with locked window. And after taking the shower with well shutted cabin doors you have almost the sea on the floor.
Review 50:price is good, tidy, close to the sea
Review 51:No kettle in room( took our own) but hardly a fault to complain about
Review 52:Great little hotel , perfect location for beach, shops, restaurants and 10 mins from train to ostia atica and into Rome. Great to combine the sights of Rome with a relaxing beach stay
Review 53:No refregerator in room Eat on breakfast is only cold pizza with some cheeze.
Review 54:Location, close to airport and sea, near there are many restaurants and nice beaches. Quite fair for what you pay. Room size is not big, but rather normal for such kind of hotel. Wi-fi is normal Good coffe for breakfast
Review 55:The beach is across the street, so you're not right on the beach.Breakfast was disappointing. Wifi was fine in the room but weak to notfunctional on the balcony. Room was just adequate.
Review 56:We stayed in room 204 which had a small balcony and a great view of theMediterranean! Great value for the price of 79 Euro per night! Inwalking distance to lots of restaurants and shops.
Review 57:It was really dufficult to find the shuttle in Airport. If you really need Internet for your rest choose another hotel. The signal of Wi-Fi was good everywhere in the hotel, but speed of connection was near to zero.
Review 58:Possibility to use hotel's shuttle to reach hotel. The hotel is located on the first line. My number was with balcon. Relatively good breakfast in compare with some others hotels in Roma. Not far from Lido Center train station. I was happy that Internet was not workable becasue like this I have good reason to not work during my holidays :).
Review 59:Cigarette smell coming from the vents and air-con... Most of the beaches are paid and private.
Review 60:Location was good, near the local beaches and train station is about 10 min walk if you want to travel down to Rome. Clean. Sea view.
Review 61:airport transferavailable at low cost tasty breakfast friendly helpful reception & dining room staff clean throughout the roof top sunlounge and the pavement level veranda to sit and relax, both with wi-fi
Review 62:There's nothing I did not like.
Review 63:everything went smoothly during booking and my stay. They were flexible to accomodate last minute changes. Staff were courteous and helpful, spoke good English too. Breakfast was adequate, hotel was clean. Airport shuttle service worked very well. Location is central. Overall, a really good experience in a three star hotel.
Review 64:My third time staying at this hotel. Relaxing, informal, great location, staff very helpful and friendly. I always have a lovely room, great value for money. Central for everything.
Review 65:Wifi was very placement dependent - for instance, great in the hallway, but not in the room.
Review 66:Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel was an easy walk from the bus/train station. It was quiet, but close to activities, and close to the sea.
Review 67:some staff attitude wasn't great, WiFi is not working at all, The A/C in the room barely works, the pictures don't represent the real thing, terrible value for money, too expensive for what you get, breakfast is dull and boring and very stale bread and food
Review 68:closeness to the beach
Review 69:The staff was rude, and not nice at all. Never said hello or goodby- and if we asked them something we felt like they were bottered by the guests. While the price was good and the room satisfaction according to price, the staff made the stay a disapointment. The fact that Lido di Ostia is far away from Rome (40 min with train and metro) made the staff lack of helpfulness even more disapointing. No info on the around area, no offer to any of the beaches, no info on trains or busses.
Review 70:Good location near the beach. The room was nice enough.
Review 71:Balcony with a view
Review 72:Noise from the road in front of the hotel
