Reviews for Hotel Alba

Review 1:We only stayed one night, but the room was clean and comfortable. The checkin and check out process was smooth and efficient. The staff was very friendly.

Review 2:The decor of the hotel is individual and appealing; the rooms are furnished to a high standard with air conditioning and exceptionally clean. There is secure parking in a central location.

Review 3:Nothing at all. The small city, beach and people are all nice.

Review 4:Location is close to train station and other places of interest. Both staff were friendly, informative and helpful. We had to leave early for train next morning and they went an extra mile to arrange breakfast ahead of their opening hour for us, apologize for not being able to have the full breakfast with fresh bread. We were greeted happily in the morning and the receptionist helped prepared our coffee and brought additional cheese and ham fresh to our table. Totally made our short stay in Pescara memorable. Please extend our gratitude to the 2 gentlemen who waited on us.

Review 5:Typical Italian hotel breakfast - best to head to a cafe.

Review 6:Close to train station and centre of Pescara. A good place to stay in between journeys. Comfortable and quiet.

Review 7:Situated near the coach station and next to all the shops and restaurants and yet just a short walk to the beach. The staff were all very friendly. I really enjoyed breakfast which included the facility to boil your own eggs.

Review 8:You can reach here by walk from the train station. A bit "retro" feeling in a good sense. For those who travel a lot but feel tired of too modern taste, this Hotel Alba is an unexpectedly charming spot for its old standard. The politeness of service staff at breakfast was also impressive.

Review 9:The room wasn't as nice as some I saw in the pictures, and was surprised to see all beds for 4 people in the one room. Still, we were happy to be able to find a room for 4 adults at such a reasonable price. Staff were not always very nice-seem perturbed.

Review 10:Great location and value. Amazing breakfast, loved the blood orange juice.

Review 11:I had a simple question about public transport. I asked the evening desk clerk. He let me know clearly that was not his area of responsibility and he could not help me. He had no hotel guests to serve at the time. This was extremely poor customer service. He had a computer. I finally got my answers but I'll not forget his total disregard for a paying customer.

Review 12:The location was ideal, and only one block away from church or the train/bus station.

Review 13:Easy access to the Hotel for my travel purpose - Very friendly staff - very clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent variety of breakfast. Value for money, will stay at this Hotel next time.

Review 14:no view (the hotel is overlooking a narrow street)

Review 15:Garage (be sure to make a reservation), location near the city center, the rooms are nicely decorated and even though they're not big, the high ceilings make them feel spacious

Review 16:Comfortable, elegant Italian style decor, good position a short walk from the station, a few roads back from the beach, excellent restaurant just round the corner

Review 17:I found the numbering of the rooms very confusing. I had difficulty finding my room and retraced my steps more than once before I found it. My room number 132 was opposite room 158!

Review 18:Excellent choice of breakfast, most tastes catered for.

Review 19:Getting there by car is a bit of a nightmare, as there are a lot of one-way streets arounf the pedestrian area....

Review 20:Hotel is very central, right at the pedestrian zone. Rooms are very nice, could not fault them. Design is quite old-fashioned, in a nice way. Its a good place to position yourself if you want to do day trips into the (beautiful) surrounding countryside, and have a choice of restaurants at night time. Easy access from bus/train station

Review 21:Lovely and thoroughly Italian hotel offering B&B. super friendly staff with great fresh pastries and cakes for breakfast. Helpful and friendly cleaning staff and a sense of presence.

Review 22:Could do with tea and coffee making facilities and the Caffè bar being open in the evening.

Review 23:Great location , shopping , nightlife and restaurants . The Alba is very well looked after the staff are very friendly and the breakfast is really good. Highly recommend.

Review 24:Hard to find at night because The sat nav had the wrong coordinates so I kept finding myself in pedestrian zones.

Review 25:I loved the location in the centre of Pescar's commercial centre but onl minutes from the gorgeous Adriatic coast. The hotel is beautiful, very clean and adorned with frescoes and vaulted ceilings. The breakfast was plentiful. The hotel staff are caring professionals at every level. I would definitely recommend it to the busy traveller! Wonderful thank you.

Review 26:Breakfast choice rather limited.

Review 27:Just stayed one night before traveling by train from Pescara station. This hotel was ideal for that purpose, being inexpensive and only a few minutes walk from the station. also well situated for the main shopping and eating areas. Quiet, comfortable bedroom, and attractive decoration throughout..

Review 28:A helpful and warm Italian welcome, large room and spacious bathroom with plenty of choice for breakfast makes a visit to Pescara and Abruzzo delightful and easy. This was my fourth visit and I will return again.

Review 29:So much noise at night. It's like there are machines at work. People running arround. Very strange.

Review 30:Close to the trainstationand 30 min from the airport, for a layover is this perfect. Big rooms, good beds

Review 31:Nothing

Review 32:Beatifully renovated classic hotel in a central but calm position. Very friendly staff. And Pescara is a lovely city with excellent food, shopping possibilities and a good beach.

Review 33:I have been using the Hotel Alba since 1995. Over the years I have enjoyed an excellent relationship with the staff, who make me feel at home in Pescara.

Review 34:One of the worst breakfasts we have had for what they are charging. A bowl with 4 pieces of fruit, all rotten, was there each morning for 3 mornings, no fresh fruit at all. The last morning we arrived just after 9.00am and although breakfast goes until 10.00am there was not much left, no fresh fruit juice only one of those terrible machines, these people need to check out Hotel Augustus at Riccione and see what they are serving for breakfast for the same money

Review 35:This is quite a good hotel but not close to the water, but close to the main shops

Review 36:The hotel was helpful. I did not have a plug adaptor for Italy and they kindly lent me one for my 5 day stay The dining room, hotel bedroom and bathrooms are immaculate Beautiful remodelling done to ceilings with detailed plasterwork Great reatuarants and small bars with local beerson the hotel's doorstep

Review 37:It didn't have single beds

Review 38:Everything was good enough

Review 39:Breakfast was poor.

Review 40:Close to train station

Review 41:Clean hotel, friendly and helpful staff excellent location

Review 42:Very noisy from inside and outside sources

Review 43:decor

Review 44:Not a bad experience but, maybe you could provide a better selection of pastries with the morning coffee

Review 45:Staff, facilities and location.

Review 46:Staff was not all that friendly.

Review 47:Hotel was comfortable and location was good.

Review 48:rumorous (you can hear everything) no wifi in our room old structure (tv, wifi, wc etc) bad quality vs. price

Review 49:well situated polite staff

Review 50:wonderful, helpful staff good family room for 4 took time to sort out a problem with my car (which was my problem not theirs)

Review 51:The decor is not everyone's cup of tea but quite amusing!

Review 52:Friendly staff, big rooms, clean, good wifi

Review 59:Location convenient to train station and beach. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms good size and clean. Breakfast great.

Review 60:Close to the beach, bus/train station, shopping, and dining. Friendly staff!

Review 61:Some noise from the street late evening.

Review 62:A nice comfortable bed. All services were modern

Review 63:Location near train station and bus, nice streets for shopping and cafés

Review 64:Old fashion room

Review 65:Ratio quality vs price

Review 66:I stayed here as I had a 4am bus to catch so I didn't expect any breakfast but I was made a great cappuccino by the receptionist.

Review 67:Beds a bit uncomfortable

Review 68:Central location near station, beach, shops and restaurant.

Review 69:breakfast was not good, staffs shows no will to help, old room

Review 70:very helpful staff, comfortable room, secure parking, good breakfast

Review 71:Hotel Alba is in an amazing location! Beautiful place to stay!

Review 72:Very helpful Good service Nice rooms

Review 73:Colazione abbastanza mediocre

Review 74:Posizione

Review 75:Not having read all the reviews it may have been mentioned before ( I have not seen it) but it is useful to understand that the Alba is in the centre of a complex one way system which includes pedestrianised areas. At one point we reached a 4 way intersection in an area marked as pedestrians only with 3 "no entry" signs and the 4th exit blocked by roadworks. This was within 100 metres of the hotel - but this us Italy and no one seemed to mind too much! Once there the experience of the hotel was a good one

Review 76:Very different feel to most hotels experienced during our travels in Italy over many years. The decoration is of a time now gone but this adds to the ambience. Location is very much at the centre of things in Pescara with excellent restaurants and higher end fashion shops on the doorstep. Breakfast was better than expected and our single night stay over was a pleasure.

Review 77:Breakfast was a bit too self service.

Review 78:Location good for both the railway station (5 minutes walk) and the sea front (10 minutes walk). Clean rooms. Excellent (friendly/helpful) reception staff.

Review 79:The air conditioning was not very effective. The rooms could have done with a little updating.

Review 80:The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean with a good walk in shower as requested. The location was within walking distance to the railway station.

Review 81:This is our fourth time at Hotel Alba....it is a beautiful hotel near to the train station. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the buffet breakfast is very nice. We will definitely return again.

Review 82:Difficult to find now new road works have closed off main street and it is in a pedestrian area.

Review 83:central location checkout staffed during the night. Secure garage.

Review 84:Our windows were situated to the street, where there was some club/pub. All the night very loudy people shouted! We can´t sleep!

Review 85:Very good place in Pescara, near to the main train station. Rooms inside are quite good, quite clean.

Review 86:Easy to find, very friendly and helpful staff. A nice size room, very comfortable and clean. Only a 5 minute walk from the railway station, and surrounded by shops and restaurants.

Review 87:Water pressure and temperature in shower a little erratic!

Review 88:Charming, individual and characterful hotel. Comfortable room, friendly staff, and excellent location in city centre near train station.

Review 89:I actually cancelled this booking and made another booking at the HotelAmbra but my friend got confused between Ambra and Alba so walked intothe Alba. My booking here had not been cancelled by booking.com when Idid it online so he thought he had the right hotel as they welcomed himby name. When I arrived I said, "No!!! It should be theAmbra." He had already unpacked his things and used the facilitieshence we had to go to the Ambra and explain. Luckily they wereunderstanding and no extra charges were made but it could have gotmessy! Booking.com please take note of this little gaffe!

Review 90:Was a nice hotel, i'e stayed there before

Review 91:It was a little hard to find. The area was just ok! Staff really didn't speak English. The bus system was not so good.

Review 92:The room was small but for one night it's fine. The breakfast was good. They have parking but be sure to resv it.

Review 93:The fact that the airconditioner got turned off by around 9pm when it was clearly on the previous night. The windows are great to open in the day but at night, guests don't want to be annoyed by outside noise and the possibility of mosquitoes, quindi, lascia l'aria condizionata durante la sera!

Review 94:Breakfast range was good Overall appearance with the affresci on the ceilings are a nice touch. Piano, couch and internet is a good addition to what you would normally get.

Review 95:Location near Central Train Station and just in the middle of the center and the pedestrian area. Lot of good (seafood-) restaurants nearby. Breakfast OK.

Review 96:Like most of the places in Pescara, it was a short walk to the beach and some very nice shopping. The price was definitely the selling point for this trip. People at desk didn't speak English but we did our best and figured out what we needed from one another.

Review 97:The only problem with me was that there was no disco within a walking distance and no shopping malls in town.

Review 98:We just loved this place. We toured around Italy, so got to stay in many other low-budget placess. Alba was the best, I would say no other hotel could compete with it in terms of breakfast table and provided service. Even the cleaning lady was the loveliest person.Would definitely recommend this place. Another plus is that there is a municipal beach nearby which can help you save couple of hundred euros)

Review 99:A charming hotel with much rococo décor. The staff were lovely and the rooms brilliant. Its central location made it suitable for almost everything. I shall stay again.

Review 100:Having seen the photos the room was disappointingly ordinary.

Review 101:Very close to rail/bus station and to city centre, so great for arrival and onward travel and for finding restaurants.

Review 102:The hotel has been photographed very cleverly using good angles. It isnot really as glamorous as depicted but still quite nice. Décor is alittle tired but the marble in the hall and staircase is very Italian. Our room was taller than it was wide. Odd feeling. The sea front atPescara is lovely, if a little expensive but try to avoid thebackstreets by the river/port as it's very grotty

Review 103:Good secure garage for parking but don't forget to ask for a slot asthey only have limited rooms and it is located very close to the frontdoor of the hotel in the alley opposite. Locked at night. Very goodHotel is located very close to the city centre and is practically 3 minsfrom the beach too.

Review 104:We did not figure out the tricks of air conditioner in the room No balcony But are these really things to ruin great experience? - NO )))

Review 105:Nice location out of the beach but in a walking proximity Very friendly stuff Nice rooms Stylish atmosphere, this hotel definitely has its character Great food restaurant just cross the road

Review 106:It was so near to teh station - we travelled by train, and it was easy to find! The confort is good, it is a quiet and noiseless location. We enjoyed the stay, but stayed only one night.

Review 107:Beacause I was travelling by backpack, the female staff at front desk treated me poorly, like a was a nobody...I'm from Canada but Italian background. they didn't realize I understood every word they stand...the one dirty blonde lady called me a strega, that's a witch in english....very poor customer service!

Review 108:Room was clean, good size bathroom.

Review 109:for the brekfast they offer lots of different pies and some pieсes of ham and cheese

Review 110:there are 2 kind of rooms for the same price: some of them are with city view and more new, others with yard view and need renovation

Review 111:I didn't love the breakfast. Too many sweets, not enough good bread and good cheese....and fruit.....otherwise it was ok.

Review 112:Staying at the Alba was like staying in a museum....the walls were covered with artwork and paintings...just lovely....the staff was so very helpful and caring. We got a bedroom and salon....so much space for us...we loved it. The hotel was clean and cared for. The location can't be beat....in the center of everything. We'd go back in a minute.

Review 113:Breakfast is excellent, with also a wide range of homemade cakes. The staff is very kind and helpful; we were there with a 3 months old baby and everybody was extra kind to us. I stayed in Hotel Alba in 2004 and liked it a lot already back then, and now it has even improved, thanks to a major renovation of rooms and common areas. It is perfectly located in the city center, but easy to reach by car (we rented a place in its private garage for our car). I would recommend it to my friends :)

Review 114:We were still out of season so there were no bikes for hire which wouldhave just enhanced the break but we did plenty of walking instead. Ihave no complaints at all airport is very small and limited facilitiesbut this is just an observation not a complaint

Review 115:Hotel had character rooms more than adequate clean tidy and comfortableBreakfast was continental self service no cooked food but this is what Iwould expect and the selection was good each morning we were out ofseason so hotel was not too busy staff were friendly my Italian is morethan limited but we still got by everything was in walking distancebeach restaurants and bars perfect for a short break we stayed 4 days

Review 116:Had to pay for the water bottles in our room.

Review 117:There was plenty to like about our stay at Hotel Alba. Room was quite large, central located to shopping and beach and yet tranquil enough for a very comfortable stay. Very recommended.

Review 118:The Alba was very difficult to locate; and the parking on the street, impossible! Yes, I know that there is a hotel parking garage; but it is a bit expensive. A daily price of 8E would be more reasonable.

Review 119:The Alba is very good value. The staff was very helpful. Access to excellent restaurants is also very good.

The Fine Print
