Reviews for Dioscuri Bay Palace
Review 1:This is not a 4 star hotel. Very poor service. I have never seen so much mould fungus in a bathroom, it was as it had never been properly cleaned. The air conditioning was not able to lower the temperature to less than 28 deg.c. The restaurant served the worst food we have tasted for years. Towels for the pool was not available.
Review 2:The beds was not so good, and the AirCon was not cooling enough during the hot nights.
Review 3:Great location. Great pool. Breakfast was way better than the reviews. It's a nice little harbour, with lots of possibilities for eating. There is no people until 7pm, but the the place lives up and gets quite crowded.
Review 4:diner and lobby not Nice deco Atmosphare poor and unfriendly THE Town san Leone is "poor" and has almost nothing to offer The beaches are not Nice - Stones and crowded and dirty Smell around pool not Nice
Review 5:THE Xl pool with SEA view is Great ! Beautiful Sunset
Review 6:The hotel staff were friendly and courteous. The room was very clean and spacious with a fridge and television. The air conditioning was very welcomed with it being so hot. The shower was lovely too. We had a balcony over looking the pool. Great position within the resort.
Review 7:Very basic hotel. During the breakfast staff was unpolite and without smile. Bar with the poor choice of everything. San Leone is horrible place - tons of rubbish and smelly promenadę.
Review 8:Very good Wi-fi. Sea view on the swimming pool.
Review 9:In the bathroom one of the walls wasn't properly finished. Which I couldn't understand why, because the whole room was great.
Review 10:Easy location. Helpful and friendly staff. Super clean, comfortable and the view from my room was spectacular. Good breakfast.
Review 11:The hotel is very basic and the breakfast was the same every morning. They don't have any entertainment and the bar didn't always open. The lunch menu is poor either a salad or ham and cheese toasted sandwich which they need to improve and it's not cheap either.
Review 12:The staff were very helpful and spoke English. The hotel pool was very well looked after and the beds were suprisingly comfortable.
Review 13:Bread rolls out on the table several hours before meal time. Smell of Chlorine in dining room which you had to go outside to access. Cool reception staff. Bloodstain on shower curtain. Soap dispenser adrift from the wall
Review 14:Proximity to Valley of the Temples
Review 15:No patio furniture on our (lovely) balcony. Local restaurants are a bit sad really. Breakfast was very basic - machine coffee really doesn't go down well at all.
Review 16:Valley of Temples was amazing. Not much else of interest however. Hotel would be a nice location for a quiet beachside holiday (if that's your thing).
Review 17:The breakfast was really lousy. There were way too many sweets and pastries. There is a need for some decent bread, fruit, perhaps cheese, adequate hot food such as eggs (these were terrible). All of the palm trees would benefit from trimming...they all show dead leaves and this just appears sloppy and messy. The furniture in the entrance is poor...plastic flowers need arranging and the rugs look dirty and worn. These things detract from what is otherwise good accommodation.
Review 18:This is an excellent location. The pool is spectacular...large, clean, with good staff and provision of towels. The view from the pool is very lovely, especially with the sun setting over the sea. Room was clean. Staff are excellent with driving directions etc.
Review 19:Very popular stopping overs for bus travelling tours. This made our trip a bit difficult. Slow check in and very slow serving food in the restaurant. When the next door checking out in very earlier morning and moving tables and chair around at 6 am was not fun. Breakfast was cold and not very much left after the people in tours had theirs. Very disappointing. Seemed the hotel takes care the large group not the individuals.
Review 20:Very close to valleys of temples in Agrigento. 15 minutes drive to the Turkish steps. Free, secure parking, few grocery stores nearby. Room is good size, good shower. WIFI
Review 21:Limited choice of menu in the restaurant.
Review 22:Easy to find, plenty of parking. Close to a choice of restaurants.lovely sea views from the room and while having breakfast.
Review 23:Location, pool and view. Breakfast was good. Rooms were nice and spacious although do need a bit of tlc in some areas but really didn't spoil our stay. I would Defo stay here again
Review 24:San Leone is rather down at heel. Breakfast in the hotel rather basic for a 4 star hotel. Dining room needs brightening up too!
Review 25:Very helpful staff. Location good for access to historic sites of Agrigento. Great swimming pool. Pleasant local beaches easy to get to.
Review 26:Poor service and staff: the room they gave us first was not cleaned . Instead of apologising they moved us to a smaller room with an horrible view. The manager of the hotel was very arrogant with us while we expressed our concerns, to such an extent that we stayed only one night instead of 3. In addition the location is really mediocre .. far from any beach.. really not worth the price they charge. Definitely not recommended.
Review 27:The swimming pool was ok. Beside this not much.
Review 28:It was not easy to find THE hotel with gsm .This can be changed only by giving a good information about THE right site of THE hotel. Also THE breakfast should have a better balance between sweet food and other food.
Review 29:THE site of THE hotel , close to the Nice village of SAN Leone and also very close to THE valley of temples Agrigento. À Nice neighbourhood with Some excellent restaurants.
Review 30:Pool does not open until 10am (rigorously enforced), closes at 7pm. Also closed 1pm-3pm (though pool area remains open). Breakfast average. Lobby bar lacking in atmosphere (and customers). G&T in plastic tumblers! Hotel could do more with pool area - perfect for sundowners - but closed!
Review 31:Pool. Free Parking on-site. Direct access to the promenade. Spacious Rooms.
Review 32:Hotel is tired and lacks quality - breakfast was particularly bad with tinned fruit salad for breakfast ( when peaches and watermelon are 50c a kg in the street) and poor quality fruit juice and grey scrambled eggs. Air conditioning did not work - service was poor. Very disappointing - looks and feels like a coach party hotel.
Review 33:Pool
Review 34:Standard double room was too small for two people. Poor noise insulation so we were kept awake until 1am by wedding party and an additional hour by loud voices in corridors! Breakfast not up to four star standard -- no fresh fruit, cold bacon and eggs , lukewarm coffee.
Review 35:Location near the beach. Large outdoor pool. Well equipped room with safe. Misleading online reservation system but after some negotiations the manager saw our point of view and charged us for what we had originally booked.
Review 36:All the traffic outside hotel but fortunately didn't disturb us in hotel
Review 37:Rooms were nice although bit tired but very pleasant. Lovely pool with fabulous sea views. Location ok but need a car to visit most sites
Review 38:We didn't like the room because the wallpaper was coming off the walls and damp patches on the ceiling. The fridge didn't work for the first day. The air conditioning made you feel dizzy. We had to walk out of the front of the hotel and round the side to have breakfast. The bar area was deserted. No atmosphere or buzz about the place. I would give it 3 stars not 4
Review 39:we liked the swimming pool
Review 40:Best of luck if you want a drink in the huge bar - it's never staffed. If you do manage to find someone, they will finish whatever task they are on before bothering to serve.
Review 41:Ecxellent location a) by the sea, b) for restaurants close by, and c) for proximity to Valley of the Temples.
Review 42:- you just don't have a perfect feel about this hotel in vacation so i called it "soul-less" - poor breakfast offerings, lots of pantries but very boring, food taste so-so - room walls are extremely transparent, you hear everything A~Z and "aha, aha, ahaaaaa" from next doors days and nights, equally they hear you as well i believe.
Review 43:- nice pool, clean, staffs are very friendly - next to the seashore, 20~30 mins drive to the Greek tempos. good walking range after dinner
Review 44:I paid 140€ per night and for this kind of money i expect more. While in my room i could understand each conversation of my neighboors ! The paper was coming off the walls in my room. The place is in need for renovation.
Review 45:The location of the hotel is very good, with a large pool with see view. The rooms are large and clean. Internet works well.
Review 46:Not enough staff at this hotel. They were not friendly or very helpful. We traveled all over Sicily and found this hotel staff to be absolutely the worst we had experienced. The restaurants in the hotel were open for breakfast (again--they work on minimal staff). There was a small wedding being held at the hotel and the little staff they had were only focused on this and not the rest of the hotel guests. Beds were hard, but this is a little bit of the norm in Sicily. There is no beach to swim on -- you have to walk to a very crowded beach which sells nothing but fake goods all day and evening long. The juice at breakfast was horrible (this was the first time on our trip to Sicily where we encountered sugar juice as opposed to real fruit juice for breakfast). This was my least favourite area in Sicily. I would rate this hotel between 7.3 to 7.5. If they had more friendly staff with resaurants open it would be better.
Review 47:Beautiful pool and great breakfasts. Our kids loved the pool here -- good thing because they don't have a beach to swim on. The coffee at breakfast is horrible (but if you ask one of the wait staff they will bring you free espresso or cappuccino at breakfast which was great).
Review 48:The pool did not have a shallow end for the children.
Review 49:The hotel was very close to the Valley of the Temples. Very good restaurants a short walk away and a wonderful children's Fair in the evening. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast was okay.
Review 50:No children pool.No balcony furniture at the back side of the hotel, not fair to compare to those rooms with sea view. walls are very thin.Could hear every single word of next room guests. Poor choice of breakfast (only lots of pastries).Eggs and bacon were cold every morning no matter what time we came for breakfast.
Review 51:Good parking, nice and tidy all around the hotel. Very clean room, pool towels supplied.Friendly staff.
Review 52:The breakfast was extremely disappointing - can't believe you would not have fresh orange juice when in Sicily and tinned fruit salad! Hotel felt a bit soulless - set up for coach tour parties which I am sure it serves well.
Review 53:Pool and location were excellent and staff were helpful.
Review 54:breakfast was poor. it is OK if you eat only scrambled eggs with bacon, cakes and fruits.
Review 55:Pool was very good. Location is good. All restaurants, shops is at a short walk distance, but you must walk to the beach either. It is a plenty restaurants near by, one dance club on the sea shore, but without a car it will be boring.
Review 56:1. Some pool facilities not available on one day due to a wedding reception 2. Bit too much like a business hotel rather than a holiday one
Review 57:1. Good standard clean rooms 2. Convenient for the temples and also close to the beach
Review 58:Lots of parking Just outside of Agrigento ruins, so very convenient. Staff was very helpful and we had a nice view of pool and sea.
Review 59:Moved room, bathroom poor . No local beer, poor breakfast, hotel not 4star, needs a lot of TCL.
Review 60:All Good ! ! !
Review 61:Everything Was Great ! ! !
Review 62:Great position by the sea.
Review 63:Lack of English speakers at reception.
Review 64:Location &facilities eg the pool.
Review 65:Nice views and very quiet
Review 66:The restaurant
Review 67:lit adolescent pas pret a l'arrivee
Review 68:hotel spacieux
Review 69:Price was a little high for the value.
Review 70:Nice location, although not quite on the beach. A/C in the rooms. Polite, helpful staff.
Review 71:Pricey but then that's about location
Review 72:Great location, lovely pool easy walk into San Leone at night . Some excellent restaurants close by.
Review 73:A decent place all in all for that part of Sicily except for the breakfast, which we found very poor.
Review 74:San Leone was untidy and badly maintained.
Review 75:Location on the coast, near to Vali di Templi, Agrigento and Porto Empedocle.
Review 76:The Hotel is found in a very nice area, close to the Agrigento temples and to porto Empedocle... oh and the hotel's pool is fantastic
Review 77:breakfast buffet was eaten empty at 9:30
Review 78:swimming pool, wifi
Review 79:generous breakfast but low quality
Review 80:nice position, next to sea and close to the temple valley free private parking quite room
Review 81:breakfast...
Review 82:swiming pool...
Review 83:Nothing
Review 84:Everything - from the pool to the bar to the rooms
Review 85:No vegetables and poor choice of food for breakfast.
Review 86:Good location, nice swimming pool, no problems with parking
Review 87:late night noice in the lobby entrance due to wedding
Review 88:everything
Review 89:Great breakfast and swiming pool.
Review 90:breakfast variety
Review 91:parking location quiet atmosfere
Review 92:very thin walls!! You can hear the neighbours snoring and talking.
Review 93:good location, clean room, beautiful swimming pool. breakfast ok.
Review 94:There was nothing we didn't like
Review 95:It was in a good location. The hotel staff were friendly and courteous at all times. The Superior triple room that we had was roomy and clean and most adequate for our needs.
Review 96:The only little detail that could be changed under our opinion it's the opening hours of the swmming pool.
Review 97:We really enjoy our time at this Hotel. We felt so comfortable, so relaxed. The Staff were really kind, helpful and nice. During the breakfast the offered coffee or tea beside the coffee machine. Swimming pool was big, clean and with a great views. Any enquery was answered by staff of reception quickly.
Review 98:Nothing not to like.
Review 99:Friendly staff and spoke good English as our Italian a bit lacking! Comfortable and clean room and a big choice for breakfast. Having a dip in the outside pool was also nice. Fairly close to the Valley of the Temples too, but we had a car.
Review 100:Breakfast was disappointing despite the efforts of dedicated staff to compensate. We would have really enjoyed a variety of fresh fruit such as melon and more interesting pastries. Limited dinner menu and lack of atmosphere in a large restaurant where only one other table was occupied.
Review 101:Fantastic pool and gentle breeze. Charming, courteous and very professional staff. Excellent receptionist. Not having to find a home for 100 bed cushions!
Review 102:The hotel was immaculate but the surrounding area needs a good clean and tidy up. Hotel was functional but lacked the personal touch because I think a lot of people come by coach and just stay one night to visit the local sights.
Review 103:Excellent location for visiting Agrigento. Hotel is geared up to coach tours and runs efficiently. Pool is lovely.
Review 104:Room was spotless and good size. Extended stay for 2nd night at check in and promised us room with sea view which didn't happen (manager, mr unhappy on duty next day wanted extra 50 euro). Also with any reservations made through booking.com you end up in the worst position in hotel however most of the rooms were fine, this was consistent with every reservation (we in Italy 5 weeks) except 1.
Review 105:No A/C in the lobby, humidity in excess, the A/C in the room works only ON or OFF, the breakfast was poor, reception disapointing and no answers...
Review 106:Breakfast mostly made up of cakes and sweet pastries, with plastic cups for the watered down juices. In most respects, our room was nowhere near the standard shown on the photos. We promptly cancelled the remaining days of our stay.
Review 107:Great location, good parking facilities, and extremely helpful and friendly staff.
Review 108:The included breakfast was a bit of a disappointment although adequate just not great. Lots a nice Italian pastries.
Review 109:Proximity to the beach and seaside activities and dining. Less than 5 KM to the valley of Temples in Agrigento
Review 110:Popular destination for bus tours so noisy groups departing earlymorning. Beach nearby not great but the pool makes up for it.
Review 111:Super pool. Friendly staff. Good parking in the shade. Breakfast ok. Bydefault you get machine coffee but you can ask the staff for properItalian. Convenient location to explore. Good restaurants withinwalking distance.
Review 112:The hotel looked a little rundown and in need of some renovation/updating
Review 113:Nice location just by the harbour. In an quiet area but close to restaurants. The staff was nice and helpful
Review 114:We had mosquitos in the room.my poor son has been bitten by them.
Review 115:Nice big room. Good swimming pool facilities and car park. A bit oldfashion but it was ok. Because it was very near the Agrigento temples.
Review 116:A transformer blew one night and the electricity kept shutting on andoff, along with the airconditioner which made it a little hard to get agood night sleep (for only one night though)
Review 117:The staff was fantastic and a great help. Our luggage was lost at theairport in Catania and they were so great with helping us out, they evencalled the airlines on our behalf so we could go out and enjoy the day.The hotel was very nice and clean. We truly enjoyed our stay
Review 118:There is a limited access to swiming pool. Hours of swimming pool 10-13 and 15-19 are not acceptable for 4star hotel.
Review 119:Very good location in San Leone. Rooms are big and nice furnished, big enough even for family 2 adults and 3 children.
Review 120:Very good price/quality. We had a pleasant stay. Ideal to reach the Valley of the temples and ideally situated to visit other places of interest Swimming pool was welcome and beaches nearby.
Review 121:Roms where not ready at 1600 even though check-in is from 1400; did not receive the reserved triple and double room, the check- in was overall a mess.
Review 122:Great location with sea and City view, close to beaches and sightseeing, restaurants. Nice pool, although too deep for small kids.
Review 123:Rooms were very large and comfortable, staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a very nice and elegant atmosphere, the breakfast room was nice and they had a large selection of English and traditional Sicilian dishes. You can also have dinner there and the dishes are Sicilian. Lunch can be purchased at the pool area and it is a good selection of salads and snacks. The pool is beautiful and is set right next to the ocean, beautiful.
Review 124:Staff not that keen to help. Only 1 restaurant open in the hotel and limited snack bar. Air con a bit noisy.
Review 125:Pool Sea view Big rooms Pool staff friendly Not too crowded Easy to get to Valley of the Temples, Aggrigento. Lots of restaurants nearby
Review 126:the only think I didnt like about my experience in this hotel was that some of the staff didnt speak ANY english - pool bar staff fortunately the person on the reception sorted the misunderstanding with our bill
Review 127:hotel was very modern and had beautiful views of sea, swimming pool is of good size perfect for cooling down, breakfast was very nice
Review 128:No quick access to the beach, but rough coast line anyway.
Review 129:American standard hotel. Good breakfast. Very clean. Wifi works, but no mobile phone data, no Vodaphone mobile service. Excellent full size pool and sitting area around pool. Large parking spots for larger cars.
Review 130:What was really disappointing is a super poor breakfast. The staffdoesn't speak english, I wouldn't say it was a huge problem, but will be better if they speak at least one european languagebesides italien.
Review 131:We enjoyed a big and free parking at the territory and a clean andcomfortable room with a big balcony. The hotel build in a classic styleand located right at the seaside.
Review 132:Mosquitos in the night. But you can close the door to balcony and use air condition.
Review 133:Large and nice rooms with balcony, nice swimming pool, good and reach breakfast buffet.
Review 134:only one thing is not good, if you are not hungry to dead , remember do not try the hotel restaurant, the food they serves just like Mcdonald's.
Review 135:the room is good with all the facilities you may need. and the location is round 8 km away from the Agrigento central station, the hotel managed by a very kindness local family, if you ask for the transport help, they will drive their own car to help you.
