Reviews for Poggio Piglia

Review 1:It was an awesome experience . Located in the middle of olive groves and wineries ! We got 5 star treatment on every level . The food was off the chart!

Review 2:its a bit isolated so you need a car to visit local restaurants etc. Mind you we ate at the restaurant three evenings in a row as the food was so delicious.

Review 3:Fabulous property and grounds, room and food were amazing and the pool is beautiful. We enjoyed a cooking class and a very relaxing stay. Some wonderful restaurants in nearby Cetona.

Review 4:Quite a poor location - there's not too much to explore nearby... The nearest nice town is a good 20/25 min drive. So perfect if you plan on not leaving the hotel, not so perfect if you want to get out and about easily.

Review 5:Beautiful hotel with wonderful facilities and amazing food - the best we had in Tuscany

Review 6:Really nothing here, just a little more distance (an hour plus) to manus of the areas on our Tuscany agenda.

Review 7:Loved the accommodations, the staff, the food, the pool and grounds.

Review 8:Some sort of pool service is required with no glass utensils or some means of asking for tea/drinks or snacks. Lack of pool service sun bed covers and the like Staff complaining of being overworked or were they? It was not obvious!

Review 9:Out of four locations in Tuscany poggio piglia was the best albeit most expensive! Staff were excellent and good service.

Review 10:The staff is amazing. Every one went out of their way to be of assistance. The place is beautiful and everything has been recently renovated to the highest level.

Review 11:We had no complaints.

Review 12:The hotel was a beautifully renovated old building. Every consideration was given in the bedrooms and bath. It was tasteful and comfortable. The personnel was helpful and friendly.

Review 13:not a great deal to dislike but the bedroom could do with a safe for valuables and a long mirror .

Review 14:excellent location , great facilities , fab pool area ,charming unobtrusive and welcoming staff.Truly remarkable place .

Review 15:We were very disappointed in the breakfast quality and shocked that nowone was able to make a cappuccino. we ate in the evening once and felt the usual Italian quality of produce was missing . There seemed to us to be a lack of the usual ,Italian passion towards providing a fantastic customer experience and they are ok with merely average .

Review 16:The location and facilities are excellent .beautiful views large bathrooms and comfortable beds .

Review 17:Guests were the type to bagsy beds by the pool even when they were absent for long periods. On the third night it was forgotten that we were vegetarians for dinner. Could do with some comfortable seating areas outside away from the pool. Proximity to motorway and out-of-town shopping area disappointing but you hardly know this at the hotel

Review 18:Lovely pool. Roomy stylish bathrooms. Quiet. Welcoming staff. Good choice for vegetarian menu when this was available.

Review 19:nothing

Review 20:The customer service was second to none. They could not do enough for us, but were not at all intrusive. Sitting on the sunny terrace having breakfast of local fruits and fresh home-baked cakes and bread whilst overlooking the beauty of Tuscany and Poggio's garden was a pure delight.

Review 21:We stayed here for 4 nights and could have easily stayed another 4. Perfect location for all the nearby sights, we had trips out to Siena, Perigia, Montepulciano. The only problem is you never want to leave! What a magical place, I can't fault anything at all about it. We stayed in the i dependant villa and it is stunning. Very private with beautiful views, a comfy bed and a large and beautiful bathroom. The grounds are beautiful and hold a special place in my heart as this is where my boyfriend proposed! We are very much looking forward to coming back next year for our wedding here! Thank you to all the staff that are beyond helpful and made our stay so special. See you soon!!

Review 22:It was quite empty while we were there and they we're doing maintenance work and told us on one of the days that we could only sit on one side of the pool, which wasn't the best way of treating guests and felt a bit rude. The staff are all lovely but it's slightly disorganised sometimes and you feel like you're putting them out a bit, for example at breakfast they never seemed to have laid places outside for you to eat, so they had to awkwardly lay the table once you'd sat down and this happened every day. The service was also quite inconsistent depending on the day. Because of this you felt a bit like you were staying in someone's house / or a B and B rather than a hotel. I think some of the employees there could be a little bit more generous so you feel like you're staying in a hotel rather than asking for a favour. Even though it was quite empty when we stayed they put a couple with a young baby in the room next to us so we were woken up a couple of times by this Breakfasts were good - nice quality food and good choices but I think the dinners could have been improved on. I had a really fatty veal steak one night, which felt a bit budget

Review 23:The hotel is really well designed and put together and in a very beautiful location overlooking spectacular Tuscan countryside, it was my favourite hotel and place we'd stayed in in italy by far and we had travelled round for two weeks. The negatives we had are just small things we think they could improve upon but wouldn't stop us staying there.

Review 24:The one minor complaint is the in-house restaurant, although fancy, isnot very tasty compared to more hole-in-the-wall places near by.

Review 25:We loved this hotel! The staff was super nice, the grounds arebeautiful, and our stay was super relaxing. This was a great place forpart of our Italian honeymoon. The room was huge and well laid out. Wereally liked the view of the Tuscan country side from our bedroomwindows. This place has a chic and modern twist to a"farmhouse", which is a rarity in the area. The location isawesome; there were so many things to do within 30 minutes of driving! We also spent a lot of time chilling out on the patio + public spacesand taking strolls along the olive tree groves just because we liked thehotel so much.

Review 26:Nothing!

Review 27:This is where we spent our first night in Tuscany, and it immediately kicked off the trip in the best way possible. The place is beautiful and relaxing, the staff friendly. The food was so good we ended up having breakfast, lunch and dinner there, and left with 2 bottles of their house wine. We loved every minute.

Review 28:The only thing I can fault this place on is the TV. Being English, there were very few channels to watch and most of which are rubbish. DVD player maybe would be an improvement....

Review 29:Poggio Piglia is a beautiful venue in a stunning location. Very quiet and relaxing for a perfect weekend get away. The staff are very friendly, helpful and go that extra mile in trying to accommodate your needs. We stayed in the Deluxe Double Room which again was stunning with an amazing bathroom including a Jacuzzi bath tub. I can not recommend this place highly enough. Worth every penny and my girlfriend loved it :-) I'd imagine we will be coming back. Also, there are things to do in the area such as Horse Riding and Wine Tasting. Both very close and recommended, especially the horde riding.

Review 30:Unfortunately, we were hoping the fireplace would be available for use (mid-October) but it was not. It was unclear if they allow guests to use them at all in the rooms.

Review 31:This was a gorgeous property with stunning grounds. Everything was perfectly manicured and put together. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant but had a lovely dinner in Chiusi. It was a bit cold for the pool but it looked spectacular. It was a beautiful place to travel around the Tuscan countryside.

Review 32:Not staying there a couple more days!

Review 33:The property is situated on a beautiful hilltop with exquisite views of the Titan countryside. The modern yet old world style of the hotel is very appealing and the grounds are maintained beautifully!!

Review 34:Nothing.

Review 35:Everything was exceptional. Ariol and the staff were amazing, the view is gorgeous and the hotel/grounds are stunning. Would recommend to anyone.

Review 36:Nothing

Review 37:The location was breathtaking. The staff where extremely friendly and could not help enough. The food was excellent. Their own wine was also very good.

Review 38:The hotel is the most beautiful I've seen - great modern design mixed with natural forms and materials. The best part is gardens and the scenery - absolutely stunning. Service was exceptional - very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Moreover, we got priceless dining and sightseeing recommendations. I wish we stayed there longer than one night. This is a place you just don't want to leave.

Review 39:Remote, so difficult to eat somewhere else. Taxi is very expensive because they have to come from Chiusi which is 15 km away

Review 40:Swimming pool with a beautiful view. Terrace with view. Modern interior. Most places in Italy have old fashioned interior. This one is very modern Beautiful estate

Review 41:Nothing to dislike .Wish i stayed longer.

Review 42:Intimate,luxurious ,enviable location, exceptional views ,great on site restaurant fab pool area, glorious grounds and garden and fantastic large rooms with spacious and well appointed bathrooms. The star of the show is the charming, attentive and unobtrusive manager that run this amazing house with flair and panache providing a level of service almost unknown in many italian establishment. Highly recommended

Review 43:We enjoyed every bit of our 5 days stay. Absolutely nothing to complain about!

Review 44:Modern, quiet, inviting and beautiful 150 year old building/hotel with only 9 rooms. Fantastic designed room interior, garden and pool area. Top luxury feeling, typical place for first days of a honeymoon, but also for us as a family. Nice breakfast, fantastic terrace with Tuscany landscape view. Fantastic evening dinner on the terrace. Very friendly and personal service. Close to Montpulciano. Highly recommended!

Review 45:The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The hotel is beautifully furnished and the bathroom is big and luxurious. We got a complimentary bottle of wine ( from the property). Once you have entered the pool area you dont want to leave anymore, the view is breathtaking. The restaurant was very good too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Review 46:Found lots of lady-bugs in the room.

Review 47:Pleasant and helpfull staff. Beautiful surrounding area.

Review 48:We liked very much the fusion style inside! The perfect merge of old and new style!

Review 49:Everything! A little piece of Heaven in Earth!!!!

Review 50:The lack of English speaking television program.

Review 51:Beautifully renovated to high standard. Loved how they blended old Italy with modern facilities.

Review 52:The owner...not a welcome attitude

Review 63:Everything was perfect, absolutely enjoyed the stay!

Review 64:The gardens, pool and scenery were stunning. Food was also excellent.

Review 65:Gorgeous small hotel, the grounds were beautiful and rooms very comfortable. Wifi was excellent even in the pool area

Review 66:Nothing at all.

Review 67:Loved the setting, incredible views, contemporary furniture and huge attention to detail. I had a minor accident on the day we were meant to arrive and the manager flexed our booking which was hugely appreciated.

Review 68:Rooms lead off a small landing - we were on the top floor - and it can be noisy if guests are coming and going at different times!

Review 69:Food on the restaurant was all freshly cooked and locally sourced! Service was so attentive. Nothing was too much trouble.

Review 70:Breakfast was a little underwhelming for such a quality place!

Review 71:Excellent setting and beautiful outlook. Staff were very helpful and we enjoyed the stay.

Review 72:There is not a single complaint that we have!

Review 73:The hotel, rooms and setting were all beautiful! The staff and hotelmanager were so helpful, friendly and accomodating. We were absolutelyrecommend staying at Poggio Piglia.

Review 74:Absolutely nothing

Review 75:Relaxed and chilled out elegance. Location is stunning and easy to reach lots of Tuscany towns of interest. Service was perfect. Food and drink good and very reasonably priced. Can't fault it.

Review 76:Vineyard to the left and olive grove to the right as you enter. Fantastic views of the landscape from the room, pool and dining area. Staff are all helpful and friendly including the chef. We had dinner one evening and it did not disappoint. All amazing I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Review 77:The most spectacular setting and the perfect staff to help me with absolutely everything. It was a total joy from the moment I arrived. Having dinner on the terrace as the sunset was a real delight. Their olive oil and sangiovese wine produced on the estate was exquisite.

Review 78:Loved it all!!!

Review 79:We cannot recommend Poggio Piglia enough, staff, location, food were all excellent.....we hope to go there again....the staff were always willing to help you and the view is breathtaking.....this corner of the world is worth staying in.....

Review 80:May be breakfast was not ideal enough for this amazing place:))

Review 81:Great location and very friendly staff. Amazing view, good interiors. I want to come back there one day. Will recommend this villa to my friends.

Review 82:Highly recommend for a relaxing break. Staff extremely attentive andlook after their guests individually. Excellent dinner and breakfast, very high quality ingredients. Great pride taken in the overallexperience.

Review 83:A bit expensive for the quality of the room. Dinner was too expensive for what it was. We had dinner in Montepulciano the second night and food there was much better and cheaper.

Review 84:Very nice view to the countryside, with a nice terrace. Quiet atmosphere Very good house wine

Review 85:They advertised that the rooms had great views, but they did not. Did not like the breakfast area at all. The place had a nice living room to hang out on the second floor, as you needed one as the rooms were small. But the reception area had a very small sitting area.

Review 86:The rooms were very clean. The pool area was very nice. l

Review 87:Breakfast was a little bit small and one sited. Every day the same. NoBath Robes in the rooms.

Review 88:Very friendly staff in a beautiful little hotel with nice large rooms.Free wifi in all areas, even outside and at the pool!

Review 89:Perhaps this is typical of Italy, but some of the dishes on the dinnermenu were heavily salted. Complimentary bottled water seemed to belimited to 1 per room (we had a triple room). However, we asked for andreceived complimentary water at breakfast.

Review 90:The hotel's location in Chiusi near the train station made itconvenient for picking up & dropping off our rental car. Thehotel's modern, minimalist design exudes a simple low-keysophistication. A must-try is Chef Salvatore's menu. We had dinnerthere twice, but the dishes that stuck in my mind is the pasta withfresh porcini and the grilled beef, which I am still dreaming about! TheResident Manager
