Reviews for Schlosshotel Mondsee

Review 1:Fantastic hotel in beautiful Mondsee, just next to the church From the Sound of music. Close enough to Salzburg to get the bus in but also by a lovely lake and pretty mountain town

Review 2:- overpriced hotel in a junior suite with 2 children for 270 eur - pictures are not showing the truth: Junior suites on the top floor has 50x50 cm window, smaller than on the picture, the only suit looks nice, it is never available for you(!!) - air condition in the junior suite on the top floor over the bed: air never comes down... - it is not a "schlossel", it was an abbey..! - Wifi is horrible, each time you switch your phone off, next time you have to login and login again...10 times a day its more than annoying in 2015!!! - no bathrobe for welness

Review 3:City centre, old buildung with good modernisation, breakfast, small welness

Review 4:Location is near the lake and resturants, the hotel is in an old buildibg so it is kind of combination of modern and traditional design. The staff were helpffull particularly the waitress Marila and the front desk Supv who solved a problem occurred during check out payment that pleased me. They have a nice family two story rooms with 2 toilets and showers You can go easily to Salzburg in few minutes and you will be in the highway

Review 5:there is no much activities for young people in the Area ( not the the hotel fault) But it is not a problem if you have a car

Review 6:Wish we had been told that the hotel was located in a pedestrian zone. We had to ask a local how to get to the hotel.

Review 7:Lovely comfortable bed. Spacious room. Good breakfast

Review 8:The staff was quite unprofessional. I requested an iron and an ironing board from the reception (since they don't have one in all the rooms) and they simply forgot about it. I needed to leave my room wearing crumpled clothes. It happens I know, but what truly pissed me was the reaction of the receptionist: "Oops, I forgot." No sorry, no nothing. Also the rooms are only equipped with german information booklets about the hotel services and surroundings. Not really welcoming for international guests that don't speak German.

Review 9:spacious rooms, cleanliness

Review 10:After the long hours of driving we were really looking forward to try the wellness, which did not meet our expectations, the water was way too cold, the steam bath did not seem to work, only the sauna was ok. We did not get any bath coat though, which was missing as well.

Review 11:We have spent one night here, the room was nice, really liked the style. I loved the breakfast and the location though, so I would say it was overall "good". :)

Review 12:There is a parking lot by the hotel entrance, but it's for short time only and local municipal service gives fines for longer parking. It may be difficult to find free of charge parking during weekends because of weddings and church festivities.

Review 13:Great location, right in the middle of Mondsee in the no-traffic zone. Beautiful old building, it was not really a castle, but a monastery for over 700 years. Spacious and clean rooms. Very rich and tasty breakfast buffet. Many good restaurants and coffee shops in the walking distance.

Review 14:no wifi at the room which is against the booking information, very small windows in big room. oily bathtub without well cleaning and extra children extra charge which was not mentioned in booking.

Review 15:large room and kind receptionist and swimming pool.

Review 16:Rooms on third floor are basically in the roof. There is only one window about 45cms square which can be opened. In hot weather the air conditioning needs to be on constantly - but it is an old building.

Review 17:Position in square is excellent. Breakfast good. Nice gardens. 5 minutes walk to lakeside.

Review 18:the pictures look better than the actual hotel. breakfast is limited. hotel service is none existent. i had a theft in my room and the response was very negative, the hotel manager asked the staff if anyone was a thief (low an behold none are) there is no internet in the rooms, you have to sit in reception. the swimming pool is very small and is hotter than hell!

Review 19:Austria is amazing. the lakes and countryside are top draw.

Review 20:Leaving!

Review 21:The room was great. We had loads of room with a lovely seating area upstairs. The hotel was brilliantly placed in the centre of a lovely town. Breakfast was very relaxed with loads of choice.

Review 22:The rooms were spacious however not really "thought over" No really feeling of decoration nor design.. A bit unpersonal, as well as the over all feeling of the castle unfortunately. Small windows, letting little daylight come through, as well as the view.

Review 23:The beds were really comfortable, plus for the pillows too! breakfast nice and a cute little garden to relax in. The Mondsee lake is just a short walk away, and the cute little town is just outside your door. We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and covered pretty much the whole city by foot. I wouldnt stay there for much longer..

Review 24:The water of the pool was very cold. No bathrobes available.

Review 25:Clothing optional in the pool unexpected and the pool is small

Review 26:immaculately clean. Beautiful hotel and town.

Review 27:Pillows can be softer, but the bed is comfortable

Review 28:Lovely hotel, great breafast, right in the center of Mondsee

Review 29:Pool is very small , No staff at the spa.

Review 30:LOCATION IS PERFECT. Parking was easy and free near the hotel.

Review 31:Friendly staff

Review 32:Nice premises

Review 33:lobby had an odor

Review 34:Spacious room!!! Clean, modern, etc.

Review 35:The safe box was broken in the room and can,t be repaired

Review 36:Position, comfort two level room, spirit of the castle

Review 37:Service for Gluten free bread tool awfull long

Review 38:Nothing

Review 39:Very nice hotel, well situated in a proximity of the lake. Parking facilities. Good break fast with a lot of options

Review 40:very big and comfortable rooms elegant interior nice wellness area with sauna and pool

Review 41:The staff went out of their way to help - always with a big smile. Thank you! We'll come back!

Review 42:Easy access from main highway, courtyard very nice. Great breakfast!

Review 43:Unique building, but outdated décor in rooms, old furniture. Small windows.

Review 44:Good location, good breakfast. Helpful staff.

Review 45:No internet in the room Stairs in the room

Review 46:Location

Review 47:However, the rooms at the castle are aweful and not worth the heftyprice they charge for them. The rooms are described in travel books asspartan and that is being kind to the hotel. The tv is an old tiny boxfrom the 80's, the kitchenette has no utensils and no lights to see whatis missing; nothing to offer anyone and the rooms are decorated like youhave chosen to live like a monk in the olden days. Hardly any furnitureat all which is comfortable for sitting including tiny stiff chairs. Theworst part is what they call the spa and swimming pool which is alsotiny and no pool for swimming, no hot tube, etc. Most people walked inand walked out. Very disappointing for the price of this hotel. We areastounded this is rated as high quality as it is and it needs adesperate extreme makeover. Also there are no English tv channels whichis not a problem for people who speak German like us but hardly what iscalled an international hotel. The staff are nice and try to help butthey can't make up for the sad state of this run down establishment.

Review 48:The gourmet menus at the 2 restaurants are top quality and worth whilefor their service and value. A value added treat is the wine tastingwith goes with the 4 course gourmet menu. The service and presentationis also the very best we have had in a long while. We would recommend astop for dinner here anytime.

Review 49:This hotel is an old building, if you want stainless steel and smoked glass go elsewhere... kind of pricey too

Review 50:Beautiful location, amazing building, and very helpful staff

Review 51:We are a big family with kids . We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights .Thevalue of the money is very poor . The hotel is 4 stars hotel and theycharged us for the children in rooms huge amount although we did notasked for extra beds ( this is unusall for any hotel in the world!! ) There was sofa bed in each room and we used them for the kids butthey insited on charging us. The kitchen in each room does not have anyplate or kitchen equipments so it was useless. The breakfast wasaverage comparing to the price. Only the rooms in the 3rd floor werewith Air Condition. The services in the hotel are less that these for 4starts hotel specially the receptionists were not friendly in theirbehaviour with us.

Review 52:I like the architecture and design of the hotel. The location is in thecenter of Mondsee near all resturants. The rooms are duplex and big.

Review 53:the only complaint was it was soooo hot we could not sleep. We opened the window downstairs but it did not help.

Review 54:the room was fabulous, l9oved the upstairs downstairs combination. Loved the bathrobes, location was fabulous ... breakfast fabulous.

Review 55:1) Church bells ringing every 15 minutes (even at night) with a special highlight to the 6am "wake-up" ringing which goes on for maybe two minutes... I found this really annoying... 2) Candle-light dinner not available during our stay...

Review 56:1) The rooms are extremely large - something one does not see very often. 2) When you enter the room, you can smell the wood the floor is made of. 3) I really apreciated the underground parking with a direct acces from the hotel lobby.

Review 57:No no- slip mats in Shower, no handle in Shower, floor tiles of shower not slip proof. Dust on wood above the bed, re first floor part of room. Mo equipment in the kitchen.

Review 58:The Schloss, the vicinity to the town, the service. Staff were very friendly, and helpful.

Review 59:Rooms were hardly furnished. Almost bare.

Review 60:It was not good.

Review 61:The ease of the stay

Review 62:Spa facilities

Review 63:Location, concept

Review 64:Very draughty and rattling windows

Review 65:Pool
