Reviews for Hotel Belvedere

Review 1:I only overnighted here after traveling From Toronto. The staff was most helpful, great location and comfortable accomadations. Definitely would stay here again.

Review 2:A bit noisy especially at Friday- Saturday with the traffic outside, and of course Scandinavians will always miss the wholemeal bread in the morning

Review 3:Peaceful at the inside.Central with the short walk to the station and good cheap links to Romes transport-systems.Very good with the shuttle-bus and 20 min.to the airport Nice and friendly people working there

Review 4:Excellent breakfast. If you are lucky like us, you can sunbathe on the terrace large without leaving the room. Excellent views of the sea. Rome is reached in 1 hour transport.

Review 5:Non availability to change unadapted room. Room needs maintenance. Aircon on top of your head and leaking on the head of your bed. Bathroom with a high step not suitable even for slightly disable people. Navette to the airport needs to be booked at least 48 hours in advance...

Review 6:Location, nice view of the main piazza and the sea, good breakfast and availability to accommodate special requirements, very kind staff.

Review 7:The first room offered was tiny and had mood in the bathroom. the hotel rooms are very old fashioned and the bar next door had disco music until 2am which was directly below our balcony.

Review 8:Balcony had superb view.

Review 9:The hotel rooms looked dated and budget oriented. Air con didn't work. Towels were like napkin/kitchen cloths. Staff was ok'ish. Didn't see much effort from their side at trying to accomodate customers...

Review 10:The view was great!

Review 11:The room very old warn out. The hair dryer is not powerful at all. Wifi was good. A bit patchy but decent!

Review 12:Very friendly staff!!!! I am a solo traveller and they made me feel very comfortable. The room is extremely basic, very worn out! But the location makes up for it. Literally in the centre of everything! Resterants, gelato shops, bank, bars, McDonald and more. The private beach across road called Elmi is a 1 minute walk! Cost me 6.50 euro for a bed on the beach. I suggest this hotel is great for a few days to go to the beach and relax :)

Review 13:the property hasn't been renovated in decades. Still uses pieces of cloth instead of towels, beds are comfortable but very short, shower area tiny and low water pressure.

Review 14:great location, right by the seafront. Extremely pleasant and professional staff.

Review 15:Quite noisy - there's a bar underneath. All the beaches nearby are private. We thought we had free entry via the hotel, as the receptionist gave us a sticker, but it's only a discount (and too expensive for us). It's a bit of a walk to the free beach, but it's absolutely fine. There's no bar, minibar/fridge or kettle - we were there for 4 nights and would have liked to enjoy a tea or cool glass of wine on the terrace. Breakfast could be chaotic as there were only 2 members of staff, one who worked the coffee machine. This meant that places didn't get cleared, items didn't always get replenished and on our last day, some of the rolls had black mouldy-looking bits inside.

Review 16:Good location, not too far from beaches and the station, making excursions to Rome easy. Some friendly staff. Decent-sized room and bathroom. Good number of plug points. Very clean. Free Wifi. Plentiful breakfast with a decent choice. The airport shuttle is handy. Quiet AC.

Review 17:The two extra beds in the room were rather uncomfortable and the furniture and bathroom is in need of a renewal/restoration.

Review 18:The location was very convenient. The staff was very friendly. The room was surprisingly large. The lobby area was very nicely refurbished.

Review 19:No on site parking but plenty of parking nearby so not a major issue.

Review 20:Nice clean hotel with a nice view of the coastline from the upper floors. Easy to get to and close to the airport.

Review 21:Nothing

Review 22:The hotel is in a great location, just across the road from the beach & 5 to 10 min walk to the train station where it's only €1.50 to get to Rome. there is a good choice of restaurants etc in Ostia and a day at Ostia Antica is definitely a good trip too. The hotel was clean, and all the staff were very helpful & friendly. very good value for money.

Review 23:The televisions are so small you need binoculars to view .... need to update ...and get rid of the old blankets for modern quilts ...with covers ...

Review 24:WE always stay here ...However this time we had to listen to next doors television for the entire stay ..... all night .....and all day ......

Review 25:Bathrooms are small and the rooms could use some updating.

Review 26:This hotel gives a relaxing end to a busy italy vacation. It is easy to get to from Rome and close to the airport. Avoid the hassle of trying to get to the airport by staying here and taking the easy shuttle. Great view from the balcony.

Review 27:Hotel was clean and comfortable for its age, staff helpful with information on directions for places to eat and shop. Breakfast buffet had plenty of choice, airport transfer stress free and affordable.

Review 28:Sharp corners sticking out on the beds, which I kept bumping into - bruised shins. Airport shuttle not available as it needs to be booked 24 hours in advance. An airport shuttle, if advertised should be available on demand.

Review 29:Free wifi, breakfast on the terrace in the sun, including the best coffee we had in 7 weeks of travelling and a great pizza restaurant and boutique brewery next door.

Review 30:The staff at the Hotel Belvedere were wonderful and the room was very comfortable after a long flight from Australia. This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel and we were again very happy with our room, especially the great view of the sea. Breakfast was exceptional - thank you to the staff who looked after us during our stay.

Review 31:Attitude of staff at reception. Shower needs some maintenance.

Review 32:Close to the airport. No parking fees. Many restaurants in the vicinity. Good breakfast and good service during breakfast

Review 33:Nothing to do with the hotel: But the local resturants are a little pricey in the water front area.

Review 34:Out of the seven hotels we stayed at on our Italy vacation, this was the best. Will stay here again. Great staff, clean and comfortable.

Review 35:Really small room with old bathroom. Poorly organized breakfast, there were not enough seats for everyone. The 4 Euro tax for non Italian citizens, per person per night really made us annoyed. Perfect location close to beach and restaurants. If you don't want to stay in city centre this is a good alternative. We visited Rome in December but I guess it's better in spring or early fall.

Review 36:From my arrival to departure the staff made everything quick and easy. The shuttle service was very convenient and accommodating. I would return without a doubt.

Review 37:The hotel is right next to the beach which made for some nice walks. We were able to get into the heart of Rome in 30 min. Most of the staff were friendly (one in particular was brilliant - she really went out of her way to help out!) and they all spoke English which was great because our Italian's not very good! There was a very handy (and cheap) shuttle bus to get us to the airport on our way home. The included buffet breakfast was nice - basic continental (boiled eggs, ham, cheese, bread, museli, toast). We would definitely stay here again.

Review 38:Reception were not that helpful, seemed disinterested. Bathroom was pretty tiny but functional.

Review 39:Room size was good, breakfast was plentiful, breakfast staff were very friendly, beautiful views. Great value for money, free wifi.

Review 40:Rooms could do with a make over, bar/night club downstairs was very noisy one Friday night until 3am. Choose a room away from this area of the hotel

Review 41:Location, terrace and reasonable value for money.

Review 42:The shower/bathroom was pretty small but the view made up for it.

Review 43:We had a balcony with deck chairs and a beautiful view of the sea. It was so awesome. The staff was great helping to arrange transportation. The staircase was awesome too.

Review 44:Kind of noisy place. Rooms are upstairs of a very popular restaurant/night club. Breakfast simple. In high season you have to pay for the wifi.

Review 45:Near beach - lots of restaurants - easy to take train to Rome (approx. 30 min to Colosseum). Helpfull personal at the hotel.

Review 46:Tiny area to put cosmetics & toiletries. Similar to Motel 6.

Review 47:Economical. The Mediterranean Sea is across the street. It's 10 min. from FCO airport. Shuttle to airport is on time & E15. Close to restaurants & gelato bars. Ok for a short stay & to be close to the airport.

Review 48:The hotel adjoins a McDonald's but is photographed to omit that and to look a bit more sophisticated than it actually is (tho the McDonald's is the best-decorated one I've seen!!). The area reminds me of Ocean City, Md. We stayed here for the value and accessibility to FCO for an early-a.m. flight; but we agreed that, all things considered, we would have preferred Rome our last nite, staying up all nite if necessary, for the sheer pleasure of it.

Review 49:It was worth seeing another part of "Rome" -- especially enjoyed an evening stroll and nightcap amid the bustle. Although at "ground zero" at the main T-intersection at the beach, the hotel was relatively quiet; white noise from A/C helped considerably in drowning out late-nite partying shenanigans on the main drag. Room/bathroom very clean; nice view of the beach.

Review 50:Wi-fi was really poor. Two boys in reception were friendly, but two girls serving breakfast were too eager to talk to each other. Very old and tired bathroom.

Review 51:Perfect situation. Huge balcony with sunbeds.

Review 52:If you are a light sleeper the late night talking noise outside might be a negative - but we relished listening to the Italian and considered it all a part of the experience of being back in Italia.

Review 53:Twenty years ago we lived in the vicinity of this hotel and walked by it everyday when we went to the pier. We always wondered what it would be like to stay in this specific hotel in one of our favorite locations. Didn't know what to expect and was a little apprehensive when we booked the hotel but couldn't have been more pleased. Super clean and comfortable. The breakfast was superb. Having access to a soft drink machine on the property was a plus. The staff were very helpful (but the girl in the day time was more fluent in speaking English and friendlier than the young man in the evening -however he was very helpful in our check-in and worked with us in changing our room when we asked for a more desired view. The fact that the hotel had an available shuttle to the airport at a minimum charge provided the perfect departure that we were extremely grateful for. Dragging our luggage to the bus stop blocks away was not an experience we looked forward too nor having to pay the extravagant taxi fare that would have been the other choice. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again!!!!!!!

Review 54:bathroom is small and has steps, shower cabin is very small - it was difficult for me to wash my 2 years old daughter.

Review 55:good location - close to sea and train station balcony

Review 56:The bathroom a bit old and tired. Some nois in the weekendnight.

Review 57:Situation in the middle of beach and everything, a shortwalk to train to Rome. Attractive old building.

Review 58:Wifi reception was poor in rooms, 45 minutes and 2-3 trains to Rome, bathrooms are very dated, no english tv channels

Review 59:Location on Ocean, 10 minutes from public beach, good breakfast, free parking, friendly staff, excellent western restaurant across street, beautiful balconeys

Review 60:Wifi did not work Shower was incredible small Blow Dryer didn't work Key for electricity, if you took it out, no air conditioning Bed wasn't comfortable

Review 61:Shuttle to airport, on time, easy to book Coupon for local restaurant

Review 62:The room was small like a mouse-hole, the breakfast was basic, therewere only Italian channels on the tv. The 10 square-metre room certainlydid not worth eur 120 / night!

Review 63:Nothing apart from the location

Review 64:The only thing I would say is that an hotel renovation would be nice but other than that love it.

Review 65:This is the 3rd time I have stayed at the Belvedere hotel The staff are fantastic and very helpful, The location is amazing and close to Fiumicino airport. My double room overlooked the beach and the balcony is terrific. Very clean as well. The beach is fantastic. This hotel is great value for money and I have no problem recommending it to anyone I know who wants to stay in Lido di Ostia. Thank you again to all the staff at the Belvedere hotel for your continued help and making my stay once again amazing. See you all again soon :-)

Review 66:The room was quite old and a bit smelly. The bathroom was almost out of age and the cleaning could have been better.

Review 67:The staff is kind and efficient and the location is excellent.

Review 68:The hotel does not have beach towels, but they are available to buy nearby.

Review 69:The hotel is right across the street from the beach, where we spent a fun time before going to Rome. Wonderful breakfast, which we ate outside. And the three front desk people that we interacted with all spoke beautiful English, and were super friendly and helpful!

Review 70:The personnel was very friendly, helpful and everyone could speak good English--special thanks to Ms. Katerina ;)!The breakfast was quite rich and tasty, fresh products. The rooms were tidied up every day and we never run short of supplies (soap, shampoo, etc). We required quiet rooms and could sleep well even when there was a rock concert just over the street. The hotel is situated some 100 meters away from a free beach, and a 10-minutes' walk from the central railway station.

Review 71:Need to keep an eye on the TAXI's they have a problem of charging you from where they come from to collect you ...should not be allowed ....

Review 72:The staff are very friendly and helpful the location is excellent for travelling into Rome ....And being on the beach with terrific sea views ....a lot of fun if you enjoy life ..... I have spent nearly 20 years living in Hotels around the world ..this is a nice hotel ......

Review 86:Shuttle cost to the airport was quite steep and we had no recommendations from staff on how to travel another way.

Review 87:Convenience to Fiumicino

Review 88:Nice location, on the Sea.

Review 89:The hotel is right in the center. We got an excellent Sweedish buffet style breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would go there again.
