Reviews for Hotel Bellavista

Review 1:I left my mobile charger in the room after check-out. The next day I phoned the hotel and the reception girl said that there was nothing found in the room... I am very upset with this accident. I can not believe the stuff is too dishonest.

Review 2:Walls in the room, are so thin, that you can hear your neighbours using bathroom. It is not nice when the noises wake you in the middle of night.

Review 3:Room was clean, personnel was nice and helpful. It is located close to both train station and the beach.

Review 4:Free bikes, but not in the best shape - don't go too far on them.

Review 5:Free bikes at the hotel, free beach across the street, helpful staff; fruits and tomatoes on the breakfast buffet; eco-soap; possibility to sort your trash; easy access to the Fiumicino airport on bus or hotel's small shuttle bus.

Review 6:20-30$ cab ride to hotel, 20$ shuttle to airport. Too expensive. Won't stay here again for that reason.

Review 7:Across the street for the beach. Friendly staff.

Review 8:The WiFi was not really powerful in our rooms but maybe in the rest of them it is alright. However, we were totally able to connect at any time and if we really needed very powerful internet, we could go to the reception. Everything else was spotless! We loved our stay!

Review 9:We loved our stay here because of the location and the staff. The place is comfortable and clean, the rooms basically what you pay for as a 3* hotel. It is really tidy and the receptionists were always in our assist and would help us with whatever we need. The great thing is that there is a bus for the airport passing just 2 meters away from the entrance of the hotel!!! The travel to the airport is just about 30 minutes. We also loved the breakfast in the hotel - there was a wide choice of food and it was really delicious. The room we stayed in had a very beautiful view of the sea and the room itself was very creatively decorated, which is a great inspiration for art people. We could really relax and enjoy our time. We also received free mineral water during our stay which is great. Greetings to the amazing staff and their friendliness and help!

Review 10:No wifi /in the room and at the reception,too/ in the hotel and all Rome! The breakfast was poor. NO wellness on the roof. /solarium didn't work, shiatsu massage wasn't available, jakuzzi was dirty, all roof was covered,so I couldn't have a sunbath/ There was a big noise at night -maybe about the ventilation.

Review 11:The housekeepers and one of the receptionists were very helpful. The railwaystation and the sea were close to the hotel.

Review 12:The spa seemed tired as did the room. Also disappointed that we were not informed whrn we checked out that there was a strike despite mentioning we were heading to the station!

Review 13:Location was perfect for our needsr. Despite this saying mature couple it was in fact my mother and myself who stayed.

Review 14:The view from the terrace is beautiful. Loved that bikes were available for use. We biked to a fun local market. Very close to the airport and an easy walk to the train station.

Review 15:Carefully read description; if you understand Italian, better in Italian. My reason for booking was airport transfer, as I had a late flight, but there is no airport transfer at this hotel, only a shuttle which goes no later than 8 p.m. And taxis at the airport, once you have no choice, without shame charge you the same price as to Rome within Aurelean walls for less than half a distance. I read other people's reviews and I confirm the beds are short, anyone higher than 170cm would have struggled in my room (309). Also the traffic never stops and rooms facing the sea (and the road) are quite noisy, but that would be same for all hotels in the area.

Review 16:The breakfast is good for Italy, except the coffee machine sometimes does not work; the sea is right across the road (and a free beach is very close by) and Stella Polare station (trains to Ostia Antica and Rome (Basilica San Paolo metro station) is five minutes walking distance);the room is clean.

Review 17:not a smile from the breakfast ladies. tiny room for the price. and even tinier shower. We've had much larger ones with sea view for lower prices in the same location. Basic breakfast.

Review 18:on the strand. Friendly and multilingual staff at the reception. Fast wifi internet.

Review 19:Had to take an earlier shuttle than we wanted but turned out fine.

Review 20:Location was great. Close to beach and airport. Shuttle driver was very knowledgeable.

Review 21:The sea view room was almost on the ground floor and so some imagination was required. Breakfast was just adequate.

Review 22:The staff were friendly and quite helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

Review 23:room was rather small for tree people , bathroom shower to small 0.5m by 0.5m .everything was old and not so clean . airco wass dirty ,had to go to the docter after holyday with a nasty caugh . Some alergyc reaction says the docter

Review 24:neirby the railway 200m ( if the train runs ) free public beach at 200 m

Review 25:The air conditioner did not cool in one of ours rooms. The lady at the desk tried to help but it was not resolved and we were left sleeping in an uncomfortable room with 2 small children.

Review 26:At breakfast the coffee machine coffee was not very good. Luckily there was an option to purchase coffee in the lobby. And there were a lot of slamming of doors from other rooms. Another good idea would be to have beach towels and sand toys for travelers to use so people do not have to pack those items.

Review 27:The staff was very helpful and friendly. I love how close we were to the beach. There was a free beach across the street along with paid beaches if you want to rent an umbrella and chair. The restaurant attached to the sister hotel, La Riva, was delicious. I had to order room service with a young child who went to bed early. The salads and fresh squeezed juices were amazing! The breakfast was good but a little be on the weekend. Airport shuttle was right on time.

Review 28:I booked this hotel because I knew I had a late flight coming in and early flight leaving, so a shuttle service was necessary. However, the online information did not include the fee of the service and the service had limited times (6am-midnight). So I ended up using the taxi both in and out of the city. The staff are generally friendly but don't expect amazing hospitality. The location is right along the beach, so you are steps away. Note that most of the beach is privatized. You are also about a 10-15minute walk from the city centre. Didn't use any of the other facilities so unable to comment on that. Breakfast had a decent selection to fill your stomach but probably won't satisfy any food cravings.

Review 29:There is no equipment for the ironing available!

Review 30:The staff was ok! Especially in the breakfast room! There are greatpossibilities for the walking/running/biking!

Review 31:Being by the sea to relax and being so close to Rome to visit all the sights. Chilling out in the hotel's hot tub, borrowing the hotel's bikes to ride along the sea front and explore the surrounding area. Walking on the beach and swimming in the sea. Drinking a glass of wine on our balcony as the sun sets.

Review 32:Wifi not great

Review 33:Hotel opposite the sea, just a road to cross Very close to train station for easy access to Rome, 1/2 hour to Coliseum. Shuttle to the airport and the driver Felicio (i think you spell it like this) was great, full of knowledge of the surrounding area and archeological sites. Hotel staff and breakfast ladies were super nice! Jacuzzi on top floor was nice touch too!

Review 34:restrooms not really nice (bad quality towels) breakfast could be better especially for italian standards

Review 35:wellness terrace and room with seaview very nice. very friendly personnel nicely located and with goodparking possibility

Review 36:The price on my booking was Economy Double or Twin Room € 44.55. When I arrived they try to put me to a basement half bed penal room. To get the room that I saw while booking I paid € 56! Not a big deal but it is the first time the info on Booking and the hotel was not the same.

Review 37:Super nice airport transfer shuttle bus driver! For people traveling with a car hotel has convenient parking in front. It is an issue everywhere else in Lido during the season.

Review 38:No breakfast available for early departures.

Review 39:It's just a few bloks from our favorite restaurant, Aperipino and very convenient to FCO. The rooms are clean and the staff is excellent. Irina at the front desk is welcoming anf friendly. I've stayed several times and it's always great.

Review 40:Nothing

Review 41:Very good hotel almost on the beach. There is a public beach in front of the hotel across the road. The breakfast is nice. About 7 minutes walk to the train station Lido Centro.

Review 42:Location was very good for us. Waterfront with view. Large terrace. Only 5 min walking to trainstation to Rome where you are within 40 minutes directly in city center.

Review 43:On arrival i was greed by a really helpfull receptionist.on my departure tho a different snooby unfriendly young lady that was not aware of any basic customer service skills.i thought of mentioning to her the poor wifi connection and the lack of any shampoo or bathroom samples widely available in any decent hotel worldwide and her rudeness got bowling.other then that ok room for being a suite.not recommended nor ever again.

Review 44:Location is a plus

Review 45:Hot tub on the roof would have been wonderful but the water smelled and not warm enough.

Review 46:Close to the airport, beautiful sea views, and a quick walk to the rail station which is an easy 40 minute ride to the Collesum rail station and a 5 minute ride to the amazing Osia Antica ruins which is a must see. The rooms were modern with a very nice bathroom. Staff was always nice and helpful. Having two early mornings, they allowed us to start breakfast early. Very accommodating. Shuttle to airport in the morning was prompt and the driver spoke very good English. We were very pleased.

Review 47:Very, very noisy place due to lack of internal isolation. We could easily participate to neighbours chat directly from our room. Their bathroom was also like a corner of our own room. The coffee is rubbish despite it is hard to find it bad in Italy. Some of the staff could be a bit more polite.

Review 48:Location. The hotel is close to the beach.

Review 49:- cleanliness of the bathroom not very good - poor breakfast (not very big choice of the food)

Review 50:- great and helpfull personal - great position of the hotel - very close to the beach

Review 51:Poor breakfast. Jacuzzi was out of order the day we wanted to use. Small room. Little expensive.

Review 52:Clean Close to train station Nice private beaches around

Review 53:View was of the roof of an adjacent building. If I'd know the trip from Rome to Ostia was so easy I would just have done a day trip. It's obviously not the fault of this hotel but all the nearby beeches are private pay to use little slivers of beach, you have to go 10k on a bus for a proper beach.

Review 54:Room was quite stylish

Review 55:limited breakfast, noisy kitchen personnel - not nice, small bathroom, very poor WiFi,

Review 56:lovely garden, central location, access to train station & beach, room size, private car park, room service, local bistro, clean rooms and good room service

Review 57:the extra bed was terribly uncomfrtble and the shower room smelled bad

Review 58:the location and the stuff service

Review 59:Very comfortable bed, nice breakfast. Generally a good experience, I would go back.

Review 60:Good accomodation , excellent price

Review 61:This was the 13th time I have stayed at this hotel since 1990, so I think that this speaks for itself.

Review 62:friendly staff and nice location

Review 63:Dirty reception area & windows, run down hotel

Review 64:Location to beach & excellent shuttle driver

Review 65:Poor WiFi signal

Review 66:Location

Review 67:Cuarto demaiado basico en terminos de camas, baño

Review 68:It was out of the way. It took us over an hour to get from Termini to hotel.

Review 69:Very nice hotel. Rooms are simple but pleasant and breakfast was great.

Review 70:The breakfast could have been better

Review 71:The front desk staff was very helpful and the rooms were nice. The hotel also provided complimentary breakfast.

Review 72:AC broken in our room and unable to fix it despite frequent requests. Jacuzzi area shoddy Room spartan.

Review 73:Small room - no comfortable chair.

Review 74:Location near Rome airport. Front desk staff were very helpful.

Review 75:The room we got was not very comfortable and the breakfast was quite superficial compare to Italian standard!

Review 76:Very close to the beach

Review 77:the bathroom had a funky smell

Review 78:the view from our room and the air conditioning was working.

Review 79:Super tiny room !

Review 80:Disappointed that there was no ironing facilities available.

Review 81:Newly renovated, super high-quality Egyption cotton bed linens, ocean view terrace, in-room refrigerator, lovely shower head in marble bathroom.

Review 82:The breakfast was lacking.

Review 83:This hotel is SO close to the beach!!!

Review 84:surprisingly food menu limited, not quiet expensive.

Review 85:good location by the beach.

Review 86:rooms are not sound proof at all, noise from coridor doors at night, never again

Review 87:Very noisy

Review 88:Everything about the hotel but mostly the veggy garden restaurant they have international cuisine fresh and healthy

Review 89:the view

Review 90:breakfast, but it was a continental & adequate.

Review 91:quiet location outside, but close to Rome.

Review 92:Traffic between the hotel and the sea.

Review 93:Noise travels with marble floors in halls.

Review 94:Location to ocean.

Review 95:Felt there should be agreement with beach costs if in hotel opposite

Review 96:Near train station. Offered transfer to airport opposite the beach

Review 97:The walls are paper-thin which cause a lot of discomfort!

Review 98:Good location, very close to the beach and metro (railway) station

Review 99:Small Room

Review 100:The treated concrete floor was probably the best choice for a hotel thatis across the street from a sandy beach but....it doesn't make itfeel warm and comfy. Clean, yes!

Review 101:The bed was more comfortable than the average European mattress. Theroom was clean for being an old hotel. The updates were well done.

Review 102:We paid extra to get terrace with sea view room. The result was disappointment. Small room from 1,5 floor with small terrace/balcony and view was against garden fence. Toilet didn't flush. After complaining we got nice room from next door hotel La Riva, 3rd floor (attic). Room was twice as big as in Bellavista.

Review 103:Near the beach, supermarket and train to Roma. Breakfast was ok.

Review 104:Shower wasn't that clean, had soap scum. Also the towels were like thin linen, not real towels. You get what you pay for.

Review 105:Close to airport and right on the beach. Nice location for Rome.

Review 106:my single room was small and basic, however was spotlessly clean and adequate for a short stay. no other problems

Review 107:location- not by central beach but was just over the road from a beach, and very near a metro station. rooftop jacuzzi and balcony. staff very helpful, gave directions, arranged extra airport shuttle(for extra fee as only me but cheaper than taxi). Allowed me to use shower several hours after checking out as had late flight

Review 108:The room was spartan and had a view of someone's roof. There was aweird painting on the wall with a German paragraph about Pompeii. Thebathroom was not very nice and the shower was small. The internet didnot work in the room.

Review 109:Easy to find, in a good location. We enjoyed riding the bikes, althoughthey were pretty rusty and old it was still fun!

Review 110:Problems with ventilation. We were on the ground floor, each time when somebody smoked in the nearest room, all the smoke somehow came to our bathroom.

Review 111:The hotel is situated on the second line from the sea. Evening or morning jogging is great here. A whole sea line full of restaurants, tasty food for good price. A lot of parking places near the hotel. Clean room, helpful assistance of the personnel.

Review 112:Virginia advised us to go see the ruins in Ostia. Very much appreciated.Would have loved to have a cup of coffee in our room. Thanks for the shuttle. Very nice driver. Thank you Herb and Ruby Brandsma.

Review 113:The rooms are a little bit noisy. The doors don't protect enough against noises.

Review 114:Good position, very close to metro station and beach. Very good and helpful staff. Good breakfast, very clean rooms.

Review 115:In the rooms - concrete floors and plastered walls with a paint splash on top - looked like unfinished renovations! Shower cubicle tiny. Not very many choices of places to eat in the evenings without quite a walk.

Review 116:Staff very helpful. Easy free parking and good working wifi.

Review 117:The room had got the floor not so much cleaned but however, we has had a good experience

Review 118:Comfortable, good staff, good service, without any problem, all right.

Review 119:The shower was to small.

Review 120:The room was clean we needed a room close to the airport so it suited us fine ,the staff were great the only negative was the shower is very small.the shuttle bus driver was very good told us all about the history of the towns as he drove us to the airport.

Review 121:Could not think of anything I did not like.

Review 122:Everything was so great the staff was excellent we will stay there again when we return. Food for breakfast was the best. Beautiful room and view and comfortable bed. Near everything. Very nice shuttle driver we got his name and number when we return.

Review 123:I didn't like the fact that there was no plugs in the room to charge mobiles/battery's. The only one available was the shaver one in the bathroom. Also I would have preferred that on booking the airport shuttle on departure the reception would have informed me that there was a charge and not free as advertised.

Review 124:The comfy beds :)

Review 125:Breakfasts had limited choices and juices 'colored water'. The hotel had few guests but staff would not move us to a room with a sea view. Hotel's shuttle driver asked what airline we were using then dropped us off 2 terminals away.

Review 126:It was close to the Stella Polaris metro stop from Rome. That made it easy to get to the Ostia Antica ruins. It did have jacuzzi though access times were limited.

Review 127:In order to expand the green concept and save water, the towels should not be changed out every day but rather every other day. The size of the standard room was a bit small and tight, but that is probably a European thing. Shower size was definitely small, but do-able for an average size person. The room and bathroom were extremely clean, and straightened every day, so really can't complain.

Review 128:The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, even going out of their way to use English to help us understand things better. The breakfasts had a lot to offer and a good variety. Was a good way to start the day. The hotel is into green concepts with the soaps, shampoos, and recycling. I especially liked that given that the hotel is on the sea and the oceans of the world are suffering the most from humanity's pollution. There was easy access to the heart of Ostia Lido and other areas in the town including a public beach access right across the street. We enjoyed walking everywhere, however there was a bus system. We arrived from Rome via the train and it was very easy to navigate our way on the train system to get to Lido di Ostia and through the streets to get to the hotel. Really enjoyed being able to view the sea from our room, because this is something we cannot do at home. The view from the roof terrace was also good. This was a perfect reasonably priced, comfortable, and clean place to relax and unwind before heading back to the States.
