Reviews for Hôtel Rembrandt

Review 1:The staff (and special the Lady ,Abdul and the Man in reception) were very welcoming , friendly ,courteous and accommodating. Very nice rooms and Great Location

Review 2:Old elevator. Wifi is slow sometimes.

Review 3:Close to the Tangier port, city center, and supermarket. The room is also comfortable. The breakfast was great. Amazing view from the dining room.

Review 4:The internet service was quite poor. It was literally impossible trying to connect on their wifi service with my iPhone.

Review 5:The staff were quite professional and willing to help. It was great to know that I had paid in advance and not attempted to charge me as was done with other hotels in Morocco. The breakfast buffet was great as they had a wide selection of items to choose from.

Review 6:Room needed some.maitenance. one lightbulb missing and the dors need some oil. And some dusting wiildn't have killed anyone Some mold in the bath that gave a smell ro the bathroom

Review 7:receptionists were more then up to codeonfortable beds. Clean towels and bath was clean breakfest was veerry god for the price of 50 dh

Review 8:The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. They provided excellent recommendations for restaurants and well as a guide to show us around the city. We were in a group of 11 with very small children and location of the hotel was very convenient.

Review 9:The staff is great, friendly, courteous and professional. Considerating and supportive for our large family (2 families totaling 11 with 7 children). Strongly recommend Hotel Rembrandt if you want to be comfortable, feel safe and get great support and advice. We look forward to a future visit. Shukran!!

Review 10:nice atmosphere - decent staff. I recognise the front desk people for a number of years - loyal and trustworthy. Housekeeping is excellent. Very central location.

Review 11:When we arrived they concierge was unable to find my online booking. Thankfully I printed my confirmation page so he could give us a room key right away. The building smelled like burning rubber the whole two days we were there. That was the worst part because it began to give me a headache. The elevator looked unsafe. The room door was broken so that it didn't lock from the inside but could not be opened from the outside without a key. The shower head holder was broken and therefore I couldn't take a shower properly and the towels were dingy. Also the bar downstairs called Bleu was strange, smoky, and had a live keyboardist playing eerie music. it was a scene out of a movie I didn't want to see the end of. We did not stay to buy an 180dh bottle of cheap wine. The pool shown in the photos is not as large as it appears and in modest Muslim Morocco, I don't see anyone lounging poolside in their bikini. Then again I went in November, which even though it was 70+ degrees, is not considered pool season. I do have to acknowledge, however, that the complaints I have are due to my American standards of comfort. Compared to other establishments in the vicinity, it was a nice place.

Review 12:By Tangier standards, it's nice. There's a front desk with a concierge at all times and a guard at the door, which in hectic ville nouvelle was really reassuring. Also, the breakfast included was really good- a wide variety to choose from.

Review 13:The rooms need to be soundproofed, especially from crying babies.

Review 14:I had some concerns about the room that I was originally allocated. I expressed my concerns and I was upgraded to a room with a seafront view. I was very impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of the staff.

Review 15:I would like kind staff especially a real responsible able to resolve problems to satisfy customers. First of all we were tree people , we were served us if we were two. When i wanted to pay the bill I was charged they wanted to be payed More.

Review 16:Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful however we had to deal with a very unhelpful concierge in the reception on several occasions and this created an overall negative feeling of what would have otherwise been a very pleasant stay. No iron.

Review 17:Good location close to the port. Walking distance to the old city and city center.

Review 18:This has less to do with the hotel and is more of a general consideration. I wish that people were more relaxed about a woman traveling alone and sitting next to a pool in a bathing suit. I wish there was less staring and gossiping. Frankly, if you wanna be competitive, you also have to understand diversity of costumes. Live and let live.

Review 19:Very nice, essential room. Very clean. Good breakfast and location. Great garden and pool area. All in all, good hotel.

Review 20:Average behaviour of the hotel staff Old building, old fashion furnitures, rooms with smell mold very poor breakfast, yogurt served in ambient temperature

Review 21:the food in the restaurant was good the waiters were polite

Review 22:all looks very outdated, doors that dont close, tv gives only yellow image, internet comes and goes, breakfast is more fast than break... not a lot of choice or quality accompanied by loud salsa music on repeat.

Review 23:location of the hotel is good, it is well known also with taxi drivers so easy to get to.

Review 24:lift is tiny, but ok. Bathroom was bit dark. Lunch service was quite slow.

Review 25:room 413 had sea&pool views and a sitting area. Entrance lobby/lounge comfy, quiet, relaxing. Lunch tasty.

Review 26:Pool was not open in April ... Was dirty eyesore

Review 27:Great location and view. The hotel has the soul of a grand old Hollywood jet set hideaway. The concierge arranged a guide who was wonderful. A short but very pleasant stay.

Review 28:The poor poor quality of breakfast. Ok for one day or two, but no more. Pre-packaged re-melted 'cheese' for example...

Review 29:If you like early 1900's style hotels, this is perfect.

Review 30:Last stayed at the hotel six years ago; the rooms have been refurbished and are now cheap and tacky like any other hotel; the staff were not friendly; the air conditioner in the room was broken and they refused to fix it and there was no hot water for 3 hours after we checked in. Will definately not be staying again which is a shame as we have fond memories of our honeymoon was at the Rembrandt in 2009.

Review 31:The location and the bar staff.

Review 32:There are no non-smoking areas. Indoors and outdoors, everywhere smoking is allowed. Not conducive for non-smokers. WIFI only available at lobby. Room- average.

Review 33:Poor breakfast, wifi worked on my phone not on my ipad, old room facilities, smelly room, very cold as no heating available. Nothing dramatic but definitely below expectations.

Review 34:Location

Review 35:Breakfast a bit unorganised with stuff running out, be early to avoid this.

Review 36:50's atmosphere, felt like everything was bought at Dean Martin's garage sale. Location excellent. Vintage bar man was a true professional. Reception staff and cleaning spotless too.

Review 37:One of the blankets on the beds had blood on it. The room smelled of smoke coming from a vent.

Review 38:The staff members spoke English and were very friendly. They were helpful in explaining where the center of Tangier was and how to take a taxi trip to ride a camel outside of Tangier. The sheets on the bed were comfortable. I felt safe inside the hotel.

Review 39:unfortunately the bath/shower was lukewarm

Review 40:staff are helpful and genuine, have seen the receptionists working there for a long time over the years. Breakfast buffet is excellent Place is spotlessly clean - testament to the fantastic housekeeping staff.

Review 41:Breakfast & the coffee not nice. Cold hotel - bedroom & public areas - heating did not work.

Review 42:The dining room with sea & garden view. Some staff very nice. Bedroom cleaning & service excellent

Review 43:A guide to local entertainment and restaurants would be helpful. A computer for use in the lobby would have been helpful.

Review 44:The staff was very helpful. The location was perfect. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was good. The entertainment in the bar was nice.

Review 45:Breakfast lacked choice and not properly presented. The Breakfast room staff are unfriendly. They don't greet us or even smile! The place needs brightening up. Seems they are doing some work. Hope it will be brighter during our next visit.

Review 46:The location was good and amenities were quite acceptable. The reception staff were good Particularly Mustafa(?) usually in dark suit was excellent. He always had a smile plus knew what he was talking about! His colleague in glasses was great too! House keeping was fine although we had a few issues. Nothing too serious.

Review 47:This hotel need a very hard maintenance, wifi, doesn't exist, poor breakfast, hot water not always working, television only arabic channels. To avoid till hotel will return a 3 stars hotel

Review 48:All the personal are very nice and prompy for all requests. Location

Review 49:The room was not so well cleaned. Only several channels on the TV.

Review 50:Location, friendly and helpful staff, the bathroom was nice, the bed was comfortable. Good restaurant in the hotel.

Review 51:everything just seems old and outdated. Even worse, not taken care of. There are dark unlit corners on each floor. Reminds me of the Grand Budapest Hotel movie. But way after its heydey. Carpet and chairs in every corner, room to lobby and restaurant has weird stains on it. They need to dust.

Review 52:location is not too far from old town. Bellhop was helpful about area

Review 53:The concierge lady was really unhelpful. We had asked if we could do a early checkin as we had taken the night train and gotten in early at 8:00 am. She just refused to let us in and finally checked us in at 12:00 noon. This after we had told her that we are going to empty the room next day at 8:00 am . When we got the keys we realized all the rooms in our floor were empty and she was just being a bad person and making us wait. The common men's rest room downstairs near the bar areas was also dirty and had lots of toilet napkins overflowing the trash can.

Review 54:Just an awesome location where you get a beautiful view. Very near all the touristy places you would want to go. The bellboy (middle aged man) was extremely helpful and gave us lots of tips on how to roam around the city. They have really good breakfast in the morning and have a decent bar that stays open pretty late. There is also a blue bar below which you can access internally. Overall a nice place to stay.

Review 55:Having dinner in the restaurant included listening to US hip hop from a transistor radio, pussy in every line. Wish I had lowerd my expectations.

Review 56:Front desk staff was excellent.

Review 57:Location within easy walking distance of the souk and the medina was great. Comfortable rooms - ours had a lovely view over the garden and pool to the harbour beyond.

Review 58:- limited TV channel selections, I was able to stay at another 3 star hotel in Morocco with a more extensive offering - air conditioning unit woke me up several times in the night due to loud noises when the cooler starts - air conditioning compressor was situated in the small balcony. Heat from the condenser makes staying in the balcony an unpleasant affair - WIFI was slow, not ideal for watching videos on portable devices

Review 59:- clean rooms - big bathroom with tub - good location, very accessible. It is smack in the city center - breakfast was ok, there are multiple selections. Typical Moroccan breakfast of coffee/tea/orange juice and various breads and pastries. *stayed at 5th floor room with sea view

Review 60:Some facilities, like bathrooms, need to be re-done. While clean enough, bathrooms were old and tired.

Review 61:Location Good value for money Spacious room Friendly and helpful staff

Review 62:the noise from the street. if this hotel have a double glassing, it will be very pleasant place .

Review 63:beautiful view of the city , and the staff are wonderful . very helpful .

Review 64:Restaurant food wasn't that good, and was overpriced. Front desk staff not that helpful. Gave poor instructions re how to get ferry to Spain. Failed to give promised wake-up call.

Review 65:Good location. Room O.K.

Review 66:However this place wasn't clean, dirty towels, water was cold and the wifi sucked. It barley worked upstairs, only in the lobby. We did an excursion through the hotel for 150 dirhams. I don't recommend it because they try and take you to business that belong to their friends. We also needed a taxi for the next day and they called a shuttle, it was 100 dirhams for a 2 min ride. Lastly, the bar had some annoying men who kept trying to talk to us when we were clearly not interested. Some of the staff flirted with us and said inappropriate comments.

Review 67:The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room service is fast and was decent food.

Review 68:Wifi unstable specially at night. Breakfast is to be improved.

Review 69:Near to the beach (only 10mn walk). Next to "Boulevard" with a good choice of cafes and restaurantd. It's also good if you wanna do some shopping or even visit the old city.

Review 70:Basic cleanliness, bad smelll in the room and bathroom, problem login in to wifi, took many tries to connect. People smoking in the bar area even tihough it as supposed to be a nonsmokng area.

Review 71:Location, breakfast ok.

Review 72:I work online but Wifi doesnt work all the time.. There was no warm water for shower for 2 out of 3 nights but luckily it wasnt so cold.

Review 73:Staff is very friendly and nice. Can't find a better location for a budget hotel with great rooms in Tanger! And the cleaner did a great impeccable job cleaning our room everyday. Me and my friends all love it here in general.

Review 74:Shower nozzle attachment broken; had to hand hold. Hard to get on and off toilet due to proximity to shower. Street noise bothersome for rooms facing street.

Review 75:Staff very helpful and quickly responsive Large room Good breakfast Nice pool (probably nicer in season)

Review 76:Breakfast meh. Bed abit hard. Wifi spotty had to stand by door for signal sometimes.

Review 77:Location to the port, only 15 min from hotel to customs gate by foot. Staff very helpful. Fun little bar

Review 78:The room need some updating/maintenance. The restaurant was not attractive; many other nice restaurants can be found in the city or at the boulevard.

Review 79:Location is perfect for a 1st visit to Tanger close to the old city & Medina. Nice (small) swimming pool and garden bar, which is open in the evening.

Review 80:Nothing.

Review 81:Nice to rooms, helpful staff, pool, near from the centre, good breakfast. If you need a local guide I recommend the guide from the hotel: Abdul, he can show the beaches, camels, the medina and other attractions in Tanger.

Review 82:Very noisy as we were on the side above main road. Lots of traffic and street noise all night.

Review 83:Friendly and helpful staff. Good location. Big and comfortable old fashioned rooms with balcony. Good swimming pool and bar facilities on site.

Review 102:The location is central. The staff very friendly and helpful . It is an old style hotel with space. It is not 5 star but is good value for money.
