Reviews for Best Western Grand Hotel de Flandre
Review 1:There are parts of the hotel where smoking is allowed and somehow you smell the smoke in the non-smoking rooms. It probably has to do with the fact that it is an old building.
Review 2:Lovely lobby
Review 3:Poor breakfast value for money, yet I decided to take it outside
Review 4:The staff was very friendly and helpful Convenient, across the train station , you can't miss it, even if you tried ;)
Review 5:Dirty room, very small bathroom, dirty hairdresser, impossible to open window, small room, one small chair, bad breakfast, terrible parking far away from the hotel.
Review 6:location
Review 7:There were some hairs in the bath room. Breakfast room is like a tacky small meeting room.
Review 8:Right in front of the station and a grocery store super-near the hotel. A front clerk man speaks English fluently( helpful in French dominant Namur). Food served for breakfast was better than expected.
Review 9:Bad septic smell in bathroom. Humid. Bathroom layout meant you could not walk in the bathroom to the toilet without squeezing past the door in an almost impossible way.
Review 10:Kind reception. Good soundproofing against outside noise. Good TV. Decorated nicely. Fridge in room.
Review 11:Room was damp, not cleaned after last use, and smelled awful. We had to air the room for two hours before it was was habitable. Shower was filthy, and not cleaned after last use. No ventilation in bathroom meant that toilet smells lingered. Room was billed as "soundproofed" - there was effective double glazing, but the interior sound-proofing was non-existent, and there was a lot of noise from neighbours' televisions, movement, etc.
Review 12:Best experience was leaving the hotel in the morning.
Review 13:A somewhat strange arrangement of the bathroom off one side of the room and the WC on the other side of the room with no wash basin. Parking is some distance away although the cost is subsidised by the hotel (8 Euros).
Review 14:Comfortable room and well sound proofed. TV offers BBC channels.
Review 15:It has the smallest of the smalll French elevators we've ever seen to get up to Reception on the 1st floor. And tho, we're used to small French hotels, our room was minuscule with barely enough room to walk around the bed. The shower stall was equally tiny.
Review 16:The location is prime for travel by train--right across from a very elegant old train station but not close enough to have to worry about noise from the trains.
Review 17:Very strange staff. Like being on a set of Twin Peaks. Breakfast expensive and not very good. Reception is up a flight of stairs. Not very good if elderly or infirm. Basically functional
Review 18:Location. Right opposite train station
Review 19:No single beds in the rooms.
Review 20:Really convenient with it being right cross the road from the station so leaving our bags with the hotel on the day of our return after checkout to go out for lunch before travelling was easy.
Review 21:Difficult to park. Parking in public car park a walk away and difficult to park to unload. Car park had height barrier so could not be used by car with roof box. Very busy and a bit rough area.
Review 22:Rooms OK and quite spacious and comfy. Quiet considering location.
Review 23:The bathroom sink had not been cleaned and was full of hairs. The shower was just as bad and the drain was clogged. There was lot's of old dust in the room.
Review 24:The personnel was nice and we could check in after leaving a dinner in the middle of the night.
Review 25:A bit of smell in corridors but not really bothersome.
Review 26:We stayed one night before leaving Walonia by train. While one can havedifferent experiences with regard to hotels in front of Railway Stationour was very good. We had spacious, refurbished room with great view onCitadel, good facilities in Bathroom and prettty quiet (despite noisymusic on Saturday night). We declined breakfast so can't comment oncomplaints of other reviewers. Wifi and tv worked pretty well.
Review 27:Старый отель, запах, завтрак не входит, внутри неопрятно, окно выходит на стену, цена и качество не соответствуют
Review 28:Особенных плюсов нет, кроме удобной кровати
Review 29:Breakfast was really limited - if you didn't get there early there wasn't much left.
Review 30:Very convenient for the train station and just a 10 minute walk to the main areas of town.
Review 31:Location was good - just opposite the railway station and walking distance to most points of interest. The room was soundproof and bed was comfortable - perfect combination for a good rest after city walks.
Review 32:Breakfast is 12 Euros per person which is not cheap and honestly we expected the buffet to be a little more elaborate.
Review 33:This hotel is located across from the busy train station but inside the room it's super quiet. Excellent bed! The lady at reception is very friendly. Another plus is the price for parking at only 8 Euros per night instead of the 21 that the parking normally charges.
Review 34:This is a well-run hotel offering accommodation and basic services to a good standard. My room was not large but was clean and comfortable. A simple but generous breakfast was offered from 7-10am. The wireless internet connection worked well.
Review 35:The room overall was clean, but the bathroom had a few stray hairs on the tile walls. As it's right across from the train station, there is some "train station people" style activity--people loitering, vagabonds.
Review 36:Willingness of staff to arrange early check in--most helpful when traveling with toddler. Room view of train station and very calm in the room because of good soundproofing.
Review 37:Once met paupers just in front of the entrance. Only one slow lift. Inside looks like an old building with a few cosmetic fixes applied.
Review 38:Located just in front of the main railway station, good breakfast, lift a few steps from the entrance.
Review 39:No dining room, but 2/3 quality brasseries nearby.
Review 40:Location - as a rail traveller it could not have been better. The breakfast was first class - hot crispy bacon every morning in addition to the normal fare expected in a good hotel.
Review 41:While 5-minutes walk to Old Town, it is outside of it, so surroundings are typical to train station (a bit seedy) One has to use elevator, as stairwell is stinking of smoke - not a good option
Review 42:1-minute to train station, sound-proof windows, flawless internet, comfortable room
Review 43:We liked it all - Christmas Markets, Midnight Mass at the Cathedral andthe lovely shops.
Review 44:We were a family of 5 - 1 Double Room and a 3-B3ed Room. Both rooms wereexcellent as was the breakfast and service. We were there for 5 nightsand were more than satisfied. Even a 'fridge and safe in the rooms!!Well done and thanks to all who made our holiday so enjoyable.Couldn't have chosen a more central location - and the excellentCopenhagen Restaurant next door provided a superb Christmas Dinner -will certainly return to Namur and the Grande Hotel de Flandre.
Review 45:Nice breakfast served in a small space. When the breakfast room is crowded you can hardly get to the coffee machine to have another cup.
Review 46:Friendly staff, small but comfortable room, great location.
Review 47:- WiFi was slow and I had to enter username and password every time I switched on my laptop. - Breakfast expensive, 12 Euro.
Review 48:- Good location - Noise isolating windows - The breakfast is from 7-10 am. Last day I had to depart at 6:30 and they were kind enough to provide breakfast from 6 am already. - There were teabags, coffee, and kettle for free in the room.
Review 49:Wifi needs to be re- subscribed too over and over . Street outside can be quite noisy despite the good glazing.
Review 50:Right across from train station . No taxi needed.
Review 51:Location was excellent across the street from the main train station and most of the main tourist attractions were within walking distance. The room was comfortable and the buffet breakfast was good. I also found the staff to be excellent.
Review 52:Unfortunately we were travelling by car and advised by hotel to park in public car park close by as absolutely no parking by the hotel. Our car was broken into over night. So I cannot recommend this hotel for people with a car.
Review 53:Opposite the station so convenient for people travelling by train.
Review 54:As a stop-over, what's not to like? But I wouldn't chose it for a holiday
Review 55:Central location, large comfortable and clean rooms, easy to find and park close by, good eateries within a short walk through a pleasant and historic town centre.
Review 56:Breakfast selection could be improved
Review 57:Excellent location close to the old town Easy, safe parking that is not expensive Very comfortable rooms Happy and friendly staff
Review 58:Wi-Fi didn't always work in the room. Breakfast room very small and tables not cleared when clients left.
Review 59:Bed very comfortable, bathroom very big (no bidet)
Review 60:Slight noise from the plumbing and the aircon but easily fixed
Review 61:Right opposite the station and 10 minutes from the river and the old town. Large quiet room with air con and lovely facilities. Bed with plenty of pillows particularly memorable
Review 62:Lift sometimes stops just before it should but that's a minor annoyance
Review 63:Basic but friendly, I have stayed here twice now. Fantastic location. Good wifi. Friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable breakfast, help yourself, good choice. Excellent sound proofing.
Review 64:The entrance is not easy to find between fast foods.
Review 65:The location is close to city center and next to railway station. There are also parking places for the car, plus many possibilities to eat, like fast food, restaurants and shops.
