Reviews for Agriturismo Anna - La Camporena
Review 1:Underwhelmed by the food - despite excellent wine & olive oil - standard of cooking was mediocre and not what one expects at an agroturismo: ie pannacotta appeared to be bought; one or two expertly prepared choices and better supervision of the kitchen & dining room would work wonders.
Review 2:Good location and view of the surrounding countryside. Lovely room and buildings. Handy for walkers like ourselves.
Review 3:Aan exceptional agriturismo in a beautiful location. Nothing was too much trouble, all staff were attentive and personable. We had a wonderful evening meal on the first night and booked a lunch with winetasting for the following day which was tailored to our exact requirements. At the tasting we chose their 2009 Riserva for our evening meal and they went out especially to the butchers to buy the best beef to accompany it. Class service.
Review 4:Uncomfortable bed. Pretty dark room. Mediocre breakfest. Lack of Agriturismo feel (owner not interested in conversations and gave misleading tips).
Review 5:Amazing terrace. Very good food (dinners only) & wine.
Review 6:Selena was a great host and made us feel very welcome. The property was beautiful and offered some great views. There was plenty of room to lounge around. Would be a great place to take a family or group of people.
Review 7:such a romantic atmosphere, nice old building, pool open whole day, quiet, relaxing place, pleasant breakfast, chatty waiter :) nice view from the pool and terrace
Review 8:Exceptional place. Expanse and home cosiness, elegant Tuscanian aesthetics of the homestead, unforgetable panorama of Val di Greve in Chianty, serenity and the emerald pool in the olive trees garden, marvelous sunsets on the mountain "scene" of the spacious terrace "theatre" and excelent Chianty Classico of the local winery, warm hospitality of the staff and chef's cuisinart inspiration... What else you may want, if you are lucky traveler by car and if you are incurably in love with Tuscany?
Review 9:We were here on our 25th anniversary and had the trip of our life. The staff, facilities, and room were beautiful. We had a fantastic dinner on the large terrace, watched the sunset while our server Johnny entertained us. We can't wait to come back!
Review 10:Great staff (especially in the restaurant), beautiful view on the chianti hills from the restaurant terazza, great homemade dinners. Overall we had a beautiful and restful stay
Review 11:If you don't speak italian, good luck... The staff members don't speak english very well or not at all. The dining room is really sad but hopefully you can get serve outside. When we did the checkout , they did not remind what we ordered and tried to overcharge us! The manager attitude, Anna was really not pleasant. I will not recommend this hotel and we will not come back.
Review 12:The location is great and the view is really nice. The breakfast is just ok but the diner was good.
Review 13:We were told they could only accomerdate us for 2 nights ,not the 3 nights we had booked , and said booking.com had made a mistake . The said Friday and Sunday were fine but they didn't have room for us on sat night. She made us feel incredibly awkward . Very rude. We left after one night and went elsewhere to enjoy Tuscany. Nice looking place but very poor management and people skills.
Review 14:The view
Review 15:Ventilation in the rooms could be better
Review 16:Best location in Tuscany. Middle of the Chianti region close to every wine yard. Perfect for 2 wheels with and without engine. Swimming pool perfect to relax with view to die for
Review 17:Very rude reception staff when we arrived. We booked a room with an extra bed for your child, but in reception they said that did not understood our order and it is our problem. My 3 children had to sleep in the same bed and nobody cared about it. We celebrated our daughter's birthday in the hotel restaurant in the evening. The food was really bad (except the melon with ham). We wanted to order a side dish - baked potatoes , but it was finished , so we ordered grill vegetables, but we did not got them , so I had to eat a single meat. Food quality and service certainly did not match the price. The staff was polite only with Italian guests. I travel a lot, but the such service has never before had
Review 18:Place, nice view.
Review 19:No A/C so in hot weather it can be not that comfortable. A plus and minus is that they provide a mosquito net if you need it.
Review 20:Beautiful scenery with great pool, great food
Review 21:Room was stuffy and no air condition, made for a sleepless night.
Review 22:Great location, very nice staff, execptional sunset, nice pool and good restaurant with homegrown olive oil and wine.
Review 23:The room was a bit small, but ok Some employees were really friendly, but others seemed to be stressed or not very helpful.
Review 24:Pool in the middle of the olive garden, terrace with stunning views. Good value for the price
Review 25:The proprietor and all the staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was tasty, and the wine exceptional. Overall, this place is great value. Will be back to enjoy the great hospitality and fabulous views. A big thank you to Anna and her team.
Review 26:One of the best Italian meals we've eaten during our stay in Tuscany. Great views from the terrace where the breakfast/dinner is served. Nice short walk to Greve.
Review 27:Room had one very small window overlooking the service yard. Food and wine in the dining room was basic with prices rivaling an upscale osteria in Siena.
Review 28:wifi worked, location
Review 29:- Staff did not have our booking - Photos from online reservation not an accurate representation - Felt we were disadvantaged for not speaking Italian (large fee quoted for a room upgrade)
Review 30:- Within a short drive to Greve - Clean
Review 31:Don't bother eating dinner at the restaurant. The portions were extremely small and nothing special despite being prices being much higher than in Greve a few kilometres away
Review 32:Location was beautiful.
Review 33:Little area for hanging towels or storing toiletries around bathroom sink. Room was a touch warm even in September with a few mosquitoes still around. Not enough to use the nets over the beds though. Walk out and around the building to restaurant when it was raining.
Review 34:Good location with only a 20 minute morning walk past vineyards into Greve. Restaurant meal and property wines at dinner were lovely. Great selection for breakfast including muesli, fruit, breads, good coffee/tea, selection of local cheese, meat, fresh fruit and homemade cakes and pastries. We had a lovely room overlooking the pool area and a view to the vineyards and Greve. Staff were very helpful and served us well, although their English wasn't strong but neither is my Italian.
Review 35:Unfortunately we were a little disappointed in the service. We were not sure if it was a language barrier (English and Italian) or that the priority may have been on the winery during the week we stayed. But Anna never followed up with us with availability during the week we spent. The service lacked the warmth were expecting from staying at a bnb and the want to showcase their region (which is beautiful by the way) and we ended up having to find out all information about the area, things to do and places to see down at the local tourism office in Chianti. A lot of the downfalls at Annas could be fixed very simply, which would make this property help reach its full potential.
Review 36:The food was delicious, the room was nice, the property was nice (even with the wind and rain at times) and the wine was good. The three cats were very friendly as was the dog!
Review 37:We asked for a double bed n it was basically a double mattress over twin bed frames which created an uneven bed.. Otherwise it would have been scored excellent.
Review 38:Quaint n beautiful country setting, friendly staff, nice restaurant and great terrace overlooking Tuscan hills just a few minutes from Greve town piazza.
Review 39:decided the roads were not user friendly for running, so went into Greve for my morning runs
Review 40:We loved this place, from the rural tranquil setting, to the vineyards/olives, the breakfast and dinners on the terrace, helpful staff, friendly cat.
Review 41:Agriturismo Anna also sells wines:http://www.lacamporena.com/prestashop/, and they havereinvented the term “wine tasting”. Tasting has to be booked, and may bychoice, be succeeded by lunch or dinner. We booked tasting + dinner andstarted at 18:00 with another couple. The first 10 minutes was a shortguide at the cellar, and then we was told to wait. After waiting for 95minutes (time wasted), we followed to the table and antipasti was served– and two bottles of wine was put on the table. Both Chianti Classico(08/09). We booked a wine tasting; hence, we sipped to the wine, discussed the wine and took notes. The other couple however.. Afterprimo, patience ran out and we tasted the other bottle as well – again ataste. We never tasted their Chianti Classico Reserva – which actuallywas one of the reasons to book the tasting. At Agriturismo Anna winetasting is wine drinking. We asked what the price would be for a box ofthe wine we tasted. We were informed that the price was 17 euro perbottle; however, on the website above the price is 8 euro. We suggestthe term Wine tasting changed to wine drinking, and the web page shouldstate that the prices shown are not for visitors.
Review 42:Few of the rooms has nice terraces. In generally the place offers a niceview. Breakfast is ok, but not more. It is away from roads and quiet.
Review 43:To be honest there wasn't anything that we didn't like! Our room was small but perfectly adequate. The bedside lighting arrangement could do with being rearranged better. The dining room is a bit soulless and lacking in much atmosphere but if it is warm it is much nicer to eat outside on the terrace watching the sun set over the beautiful Chianti hills.
Review 44:The setting is wonderful with stunning views out over the hills of Chianti. Being out of the village means it is quiet but does mean that you really need a car. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Anna is passionate about here winery which is well worth a visit and wine tasting session. We spent a delightful 6 nights here.
Review 45:Everything, the meals were delicious, the room was beautiful and comfortable. The wine tour was fabulous and the wine delicious. Anna was a great hostess and her staff is excellent. I adored and will definitely go back but for a week this time. In the meantime, I have all the information to order wine from her which I will.
Review 46:The only 'negative' was that the wifi was not very stable and we couldn't follow all of the World Cup but it was so trivial. If there wasn't a world cup, I dont think that would be a negative...
Review 47:We stayed at Agriturismo Anna at the beginning of July 2014 and had a wonderful time! The views are spectacular any time of day! Anna and her staff are very welcoming, and the breakfast and dinner were very satisfying. The location is close to the road so there was noise from speeding motorcycles and cars on the weekends but then was very quiet and very easy to relax! It was wonderful to spend hours next to the pool and dip in under the Tuscan sun. The wine from Anna is La Camporena and it is delicious! We highly recommend asking Anna for a showing of her wine facility and tasting menu. She is very passionate about her wine business and happy to share it during a wine tasting/tour!
Review 48:The property was absolutely stunning, with olive trees everywhere, and a teraccotta terrace that would make the wealthiest man envious. We arrived late, so we were very thankful to find that they had a restaurant on premise. (Very fresh!) The pool was spectacular, just wish we spent more time there. Did lots of wine touring in the area, including a tasting at the owners one facility.
