Reviews for La Vista Hakodate Bay

Review 1:Hard to find the hotel because logo is tiny. Traffic infomation in website is too simple to follow: They do not mention the bus station in front of hotel. Not Recommended to take dinner in hotel.

Review 2:Space is huge compared to most Japanese hotels. Room faces toya lake.

Review 3:nothing.

Review 4:We enjoyed great view of the mountain from the rooms we stayed. Very good coffee was provided in the lobby, which made us feel at home and warmly welcomed. Staff were nice and helpful. Also, it is recommended to walk around the store close to the lobby, and you might find nice things inside. Perfect experience during the stay at La Vista, and we're very likely to choose this hotel next time we visit Hakodate.

Review 5:When the hotel is full, the public facilities appear to be under pressure - e.g. queuing for lift, even queuing to use showers at public bath. Only a minor point, but for a luxury hotel, it's surprising there are no staff to help with taking cases to your room.

Review 6:Location is good, with the historical sector of the city being within comfortable walking distance. Good choice of Japanese & western food for breakfast. Rooftop public bath, followed by ice-cream, is recommended.

Review 7:There are two sets of clothes (inside and outside room ) provided by the hotel. It looks funny as all the hotel guests look as if the staff of the hotel

Review 8:The refurbished old port area where the hotel is located has a Victorian Europe feel to it, with numerous cheap and good eateries plus a seafood market. It's also in walking distance to the Mt Hakodate cablecar. The hotel is clean, the rooms quite spacious.

Review 9:Just a tiny point as for light in hotel room is too dim. A bit difficult for elders to see clearly.

Review 10:Breakfast here is a must-try. One of highlights in our Hakodate trip. Breakfast buffet serves from 6-10am. To avoid a long queue of tourists is to go at almost 9am. Most of people already settle in. Twin Room is spacious, clean and well decorated. Humble and helpful staffs. Superb location!

Review 11:The hot springs were a bit disappointing, especially the outdoor one, which is covered with moss. Not a loss even you don't try it. The bedroom was small but bathroom was good.

Review 12:Close to Kanemori Red Brick House and bay area. A few minutes' drive to the morning market and peak tram station. Japanese buffet breakfast was good.

Review 13:I experienced a Chinese tour group in the hotel onsen facility. They had very bad manner. They even took photo in the onsen which it is not allowed coz all of ppl in there were naked. The hotel should consider receiving Chinese tour group, and if the hotel think they will make business with these ppl, hotel should make sure they understand all manner and regulations and make sure they dont disturb other guests.

Review 14:all facilities

Review 15:- Onsen area on the 13/FL top floor "AMAZING". - Breakfast have a lot of choice but need to quel up line for seat in not really good. - Have a free shuttle bus back to the JR station are very good.

Review 16:We didn't talk to much (less than 5 sentences) to the staffs as they just gave us the hand-out (like what kind of things you need to aware) in English. I can't say they are not helpful but if you can speak Japanese, you may get better service then. Certainly, the hotel is little pricy.

Review 17:The hotel has good indoor & outdoor onsen (hot spring). The room is small but very clean and high-end.

Review 18:I booked 3 nights stay with booking.com, I didn;t expect the receptionist to give me the smallest room I ever stay so far. I bed that stick to the window with no walking space, I need to put my luggage on top of the queen size bed to open daily as the room do not have space to put your personal things. I feedback this to the receptionist, she told me all rooms are full but there's bigger room on the last night. We've no choice but to take it. The new room at 1025 is much bigger that the previous room 1027 we're staying. Since we're staying for 3 nights, why they arrange the smallest room 1027 for us.

Review 19:The thing i love this hotel is the location, opposite is the famous warehouse shopping and lots of resturants for you to choose. I love the roof top hot spring also, there's indoor and outdoor for your to choose.

Review 20:A little hard to community with the receptionist. They said they could provide free service from hotel to the train station, turned out to be the called a taxi for us. Not that much anyway but wish they could understand better.

Review 21:Breakfast. Location. Hot spring.Room view.

Review 22:Spacious and comfortable outdoor onsen which is a good match to cold and snowing day. Excellent location toward most majority sights. Daily Free shuttle service to train station is so sweet especially in raining or snowing day. Of course, the delicious breakfast buffe is unforgettable.

Review 23:The breakfast might be short of flavor

Review 24:like the location! Near to the mountain and the markets . Great mountain views from the window and nice rooftop hotspring .

Review 25:It would be better if the receptionists could speak a bit better English

Review 26:Breakfast is definitely unbeatable. Nice view and great hot spring. Close to main shopping areas. Several good restaurants right there.

Review 27:Good location, near to the bay area, hakodate station, moto-machi and hakodata-yama. Very good hot spring, available almost any time, also delicious ice cream is served for free.

Review 28:Rather hot inside the room as they turned on the heater in winter... Can ask the staff to unlock the room window for fresh cold air :)

Review 29:Remember to order their hotel buffet breakfast! That's awesome with a variety of food and SEAFOOD! Great to enjoy their onsen on the top floor while snowing. Very helpful staff with proficiency in English! I loved my stay at their hotel a lot :)

Review 30:No in room WiFi, the only thing kept my staying perfect.

Review 31:Classy room with very comfy bed. Exceptional breakfast and bath facility. Well worth the Money.

Review 32:the roof top Onsen is great and the hotel room, though a little small, was beautifully presented and super comfortable. Would definitely recommend a stay here if you are visiting Hakodate.

Review 33:Wi-fi not available in the room

Review 34:Breakfast was excellent! Great variety of food. Room was cozy, though a bit small. I love the window just beside the bed, through which I can see the lovely Hakodate city covered with snow. Complementary coffee with grinder a surprise! Onsen was good with great views.

Review 35:Room was a bit small

Review 36:The bar @ 12th floor Outdoor hot spring Comfortable bed Comfortable lobby Friendly staff Good breakfast Location High C/P value

Review 42:services provided attend to every details, i love the coffee grinder and filter provided in the room. the onsen experience was great! the breakfast was the highlight! free transfer to the train station.

Review 43:Near Mount Hakodate, 15mins from Airport, next the brick warehouse, in front of Hakodate Bay, a relax 15 to 20 mins walk from JR station with Morning Market along the walk.. Hotel is nice, onsen is good, nice view..

Review 44:- no wifi in the room - reception staff English is very limited

Review 45:- the room has an awesome view of the Hakodate bay and city - the rooftop onsen comes with a great view of the Hakodate bay - the buffet breakfast was one of the best Japanese breakfast in the city - Major attractions such as the kanemori warehouse entertainment area at its doorstep with short walking distance to the famous morning market and Hakodate JR station

Review 46:There was nothing we didn't like.

Review 47:The absolute best is the rooftop onsen and sauna with amazing views of Hakodate. The breakfast was excellent. The room was cozy and the bed super comfortable. Lovely views also from the room of Hakodate mountain.

Review 48:Breakfast buffet does have lot of Japanese choices but is crazily crowded and western choices are a bit limited. Onsen on the 13th floor is more like a big bath tub - be realistic of what you get in the city.

Review 49:Good location - walking distance to all the major attractions in the city. Basic facilities meet what you expect from a decent hotel though the room size could be a little bigger - still bit small for 2 people traveling with big luggage. Staff are very helpful. We wanted to weigh the checked in bags the night before we left and the staff tried very hard and were very patient to understand what we need even though English communication was a little challenging.
