Reviews for Atlas Almohades Tanger City Center

Review 1:Staff very rude, bartender charges the water that is sent to our room and started screaming when i did not agree on the price and refused to cancel it from the bill, i felt sort of ripped by that move, its just the location

Review 2:Location

Review 3:Photos don't correctly portray the hotel. It's far more tired than the photos and pool area didn't look nice. Bird mess in the communal areas. Staff weren't very helpful at times, especially the gentleman who works as the waiter in the bar.

Review 4:Close to beach and short walk to shops and mosque.

Review 5:Everything - the place is filthy not just dirty pure filth. There is a strong smell of sewage throughout the whole hotel. But particularly in the rooms - when we raised this with management. .. We were told that no there isn't but given a can of air freshener.... disgusting. The price point for this hotel is outrageous.

Review 6:NOTHING! THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL WE HAVE EVER STAYED IN. BE WARNED

Review 7:The hotel was quiet and I'd requested the upper floors. Yet we were given 2nd floor rooms overlooking a vacant lot. Breakfast was poor.

Review 8:The hotel is right on the sea front and the rooms have been upgraded since my last visit and are very comfortable. It was also very good value.

Review 9:Location of the pool wasn't that nice, it was between the buildings. Breakfast didn't include 57 euro room price. Maybe a little bit old place.

Review 10:location was ok if you don't want to stay in medina. Beach, restaurants and bars close. Room was clean.

Review 11:Smell of cigerette smoke throughout the hotel. Hotel need a good clean and makeover.

Review 12:The staff were very good. Hotel itself very dated. You could smell cigerette smoke right throughout the hotel. Offered an upgrade which we took but only had single beds pushed together but at least it had a sea view.

Review 13:i had problems with the wifi throughout my stay.

Review 14:great central location, value, very clean with pleasant staff!! good breakfast. they had a nice lounge downstairs to listen to live arabic music.

Review 15:Waited 3 hours for room service (was 2 sandwiches).

Review 16:Beautiful sea view, 1 minute walk to the Mediterranean ocean. Full buffet breakfast, ATM inside hotel. Many restaurants and cafes nearby.

Review 17:Lots of street noise!

Review 18:The view down the beach and the Croisette was lovely, the room was spacious and the housekeeping staff wonderful, our laundry was returned with amazing speed

Review 19:We received poor service from the moment we walked in. The room we reserved was unavailable so we were taken to the standard basic room. Upon seeing the room and the view we returned to the desk to explain that it was not the double with a sea view as we reserved. We would be fine as long as the price difference was returned. Fatine said this was not possible and suggested giving us a room with twin beds and moving them together. My husband requested to speak with the manager, however, he was unavailable. :/ we were shown several other rooms that would expose us to the ongoing repairs and construction and/or the 3-4am sounds and movement from the 7th floor nightclub. We were exasperated and ready to just take the lesser of the evils when the very helpful and friendly director of housekeeping called the front desk and said they had given us a suite to compensate for the trouble. The room was the exact room we had reserved! Only it had an extra lounge attached-both with sea views. The mini bar had no price listings, and the tea and coffee had not been filled. My husband made the mistake of opening a 2mad bottle of water which later cost 30mad. All in all, we realized we are not the clientele this establishment seeks. Honest, hardworking, and fair famililies need not reserve at Atlas Almohades.

Review 20:The view of the sea was lovely.

Review 21:Staff not welcoming, only one Arabic tv channel, one tea bag, one coffee, one pair of slippers, mini bar empty. I did complain there was 2 of us and was told it would be put right but it was not. I could be bother asking again as the staff were so unhelpful. It does not cost to welcome guests, at the end of the day good reviews make money. (Look elsewhere)

Review 22:Comfy beds, lovely sea views, clean.

Review 23:We've been moved 3 times from our room What we booked for/seen in the pictures was not provided until the 4th move Staff are unknowledgeable and reckless

Review 24:Location is great, next to the beach The manager (Mounia) was useful

Review 25:1. Wi-fi didn't work. 2. The air conditioner didn't work. 3. The hotel's staff seem to lack any interest in resolving the above two problems. 4. The bloke at the reception advised me to use the hotel's ATM for a cash withdrawal. When I told him after I'd tried using it that it didn't work, he said that he knew that it didn't work and I'd have to use another one. Confusing. 5. Overall customer service provided by reception gave the impression that they had better things to do than look after me.

Review 26:Although obviously an older hotel, it has been reasonably nicely appointed.

Review 72:Staff &Cleaing peaple

Review 73:Can't think of anything.

Review 74:Everything. Good location by the beach. Walking distance (or short and cheap taxi ride) to the medina and port for ferries to Tarifa. This is a beautiful hotel and worth it's 4 stars. Would definitely stay here again. They are licensed to sell alcohol and do have live music in the evenings. Tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms an added bonus as many hotels in Morocco don't have this.

Review 75:The neighborhood is a little bit questionable. We took a walk along the esplanade during the day but wouldn't have at night.

Review 76:Very nice room...large, clean, well equiped, comfortable and with a gorgeous view of the sea. Included breakfast was convenient as well as tasty. Public spaces were comfortable and pleasant.

Review 77:Road Noise in the evening, at around 3am a group of young men decided to see if their car horns worked. They were extremely thorough for approx. 1 hour.

Review 78:The room was too cold. Ac is not working. Actually everywhere in the hotel was too cold. There is a tax 1,5 euro per person per night that i have never seen before in any country. About Aisha a person who thinks herself as manager of the hotel was so rude. She needs to be polite while speaking with the customers of the hotel. Normally i need to stay 10 more days but because of manager Aisha i checked-out to new hotel. The manager Aisha has to get some education about the human relations. Hopefully there is some helpfull stuff in the hotel like front office stuff and the waitress who is smiling in the morning.

Review 79:Receptionist Asmahan and Jameel was very friendly and helpful. Thanks alot for them. Also bellboy with glasses. The location and the wiev of the room is perfect.

Review 80:Very bad experience; smoking get inside my room all the nights; I could not sleep well 6 nights; I talked to the staff but nothing happened. High tuff musice from the restaurant on the 7 th floor makes your night nightmare. I do nor recommond this hotel; I will never book this hotel anymore.

Review 81:A hotel with racist and xenophobic reception and a favoured roost for prostitutes. I have stayed in a lot of hotels all around the world and the Atlas Almohades is by far the worst I have ever experienced. The receptionist was racist and xenophobic and made it clear he did not want to serve my nationality. Whilst asking for directions he would actually just turn & walk-away, preferring to help customers who were obviously 'more local'. I've never seen anything like it. He became aware that I had found out his name so I could complain to management. Whilst I was getting directions from the very helpful concierge, this receptionist walked across the lobby and rudely interrupted and started shouting in my face "what's the problem, what's the problem" and then walked away laughing loudly. On arrival the receptionist failed to inform me about any of the facilities in the hotel such as the gym and the availability of breakfast in my room. The room itself had no hotel guide so I missed breakfast. The hotel is next to the beach and a lot of nightclubs which are open till gone 4am. The hotel also has a loud music bar downstairs and a nightclub upstairs. You will struggle to get any sleep here. Both bars are popular with prostitutes. I was hounded by one who wouldn't take no for an answer. The bar staff didn't care less and even allowed her to try to put her drinks on my bill.My room had a wardrobe that was falling apart and unpainted plaster repairs across the ceiling. A lot of items in the room where either missing or broken, including the air conditioning. The bed sheets where worn and thin and did not fit the bed. Meaning they would come off the bed in the night leaving me sleeping on a bare stained mattress.I did get breakfast on my second day. I was glad I missed it the first day. The only thing that was edible was some croissants.I emailed the group head office and hotel manager whilst there and again on returning home.

Review 82:A helpful concierge, thankfully. Close to beach but also very loud nightclubs.

Review 83:we were with 3 friends, and there were no separate beds. The extra bed which was given was VERY uncomfortable. staff was not able to fulfill any service requests on a level you would expect at a 4-star hotel! For a Spa treatment the reception told us to go to Atlas Rif & Spa which was very filthy, old and without professionals.

Review 84:location room space

Review 85:Room needing a fresher look, with a decrepit wardrobe and a desk chair that one would expect to find in a prison cell

Review 86:Location; lobby; bathroom; car park

Review 87:Beachfront location means the incessant honking of cars by revellers from 4:00 AM on Sunday morning, prevent you from sleeping. Also I had the misfortune of having a gentleman in my next room who sang his prayers loudly every hour through the night. This is not the hotel's fault, but I did not sleep. The TV had only one English channel BBC World, so better pack a good book for the evenings.

Review 88:Comfortable spacious room with large beds. Nice balcony and great seaview. Large bathroom. Breakfast was filling with plenty of choices and hot pancakes made on the spot. Central location means easy to get cheap taxis at any time. Staff were courteous, helpful and always available.

Review 89:I had a trouble with the hotel's staff .. a guest from outsideentered the hotel and he came to my room directly .. no one asked himwhere are you going since he's not a guest in the hotel.. He gavesome money to the bodyguards to give him access .. that's reallystrange and unsafe.

Review 90:Staff is not really helpful and nice. We had to ask twice to have breakfast in the room. We were a group of three and had to ask for the delivery of a third bed in our room. It was not ready when we arrived and nobody informed when we entered the room.

Review 91:Well located just in front of the beach. The view on the sea is nice.

Review 92:Breakfast at the weekend was staffed by one person and there was simply shortages of everything.Reception staff could not or would not look up or telephone to help us. There was no hotel name sign on the main road facing the beach so we went by at first. The disco was noisy at night.

Review 93:Location allowed us to walk or get a cheap taxi.

Review 94:Equipment room (non functioning) noise on weekend at night from street

Review 95:When we arrived our standard double was overbooked, so they upgraded usto suite, very nice. Clean. Comfortable beds. Excellent view of coast, and Spain, and close to board walk for running, walking, strolling.Close to Medina. Personable staff, security, car parking attendants(free) great breakfast (included) lots to choose from, excellentservice, clean. Comfortable furniture, Music in common areas lovely,

Review 96:There needs to be more information in the room such as sample menu for the restaurant and details of attractions/dining options near by.

Review 97:A very clean hotel with a decent location next to the beach.

Review 98:Unfortunately all shops were closed during the Eid holidays.

Review 99:Spacious rooms very comfortable and nicely designed. Nice view frombalconie. Very friendly staff. I liked this hotel. Hotel has its privateparking. The location is excellent at the center of Tangier.

Review 100:The location is excellent with a fantastic view. The rooms were spacious and the staff was courteous. Some good restaurants in the vicinity and the beach is easily accessible.

Review 101:I saw black patches on border in bathroom And furniture in hotel old tv very bad Breakfast bad Towel very very bad There is bar near receptaion Annoying you can't sleep I don't recommend to anyone go this hotel

Review 102:Staff were respected Near beach and location near from port and station and market and resturants There is parking car

Review 103:Noisy location due to late night traffic. Sewer-like smell in the area of the hotel. Balcony doors would not lock. A/C only worked on high.

Review 104:Spacious and adequate bathroom. Enjoyed the pool with the kids. Great local specialties for breakfast, alongside international fare.

Review 105:Hotel has posted rates for foreign exchange, however does not exchangethe local currency back to Euros.

Review 106:Nice location, rooms are nice. Overall, value for money.

Review 107:I found a Cockroach by the bed couldn't sleep and checked out next morning although my booking was for two nightg, in addition the bath tawel looks very Exploited

Review 108:Nothing the minnute I get in I want to get out!!,

Review 109:The room service staff are very poor . I asked for drinking water .Ihave got it after one hour. Also I had to call them 5 times to answer mycall if I need anything . Which is really disappointed me that everymorning when I have my breakfast I found the waiters fighting andshouting. And there were a real fight in-front of my room between thecleaning staff.

Review 110:I liked the reception staff . They are very friendly and nice andhelpful.

Review 111:The pool are was not clean at all, birds mess everywhere and could not sit on any of the loungers. Breakfast a bit on the poor side and quite disorganized for a 4* Hotel . Quite bad drain smell everywhere but to be fair i assume that will be everywhere in the town

Review 112:The Hotel has a nice location and lay out, beds were comfortable and staff helpful.

Review 113:1-Tv channels . For Arab visitors it is recommended to add a couple ofEgypt channles as it is the accenyt that is understood by most of arabiclanguage speaking countries. 2-Clean towels are not provided until midday. The dirty towels are not replaced during the rooms cleaniong. 3-Nofree internet in the rooms.

Review 114:1-Staff behavior and response 2-Clean 3-Location near city centerand sea view

Review 115:Our room did not have any towels. The toilet paper was roll was almost finished.

Review 116:The rooms was spacious, great location near the shopping area. Great view of the beach. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Review 117:The only thing to say: staff at reception not so friendly and charm asexpected. They charged twice for the rooms and I've had to denythe payment.

Review 118:The great location, the room was very nice, breakfast was good too...tosum up, very good hotel at great price (70€ per double room per night)

Review 119:The breakfast could be improved.

Review 120:Very friendly, wellcoming and helpfil staff, nice and clean facilities, spacious and very comfortable rooms, excellent location for the seaside, beach and city, very good wifi, was made very wellcome and the staff would do anything to make you comfortable, I would definitally stay there again on my next visit and highly recommend the place.

Review 121:I understood that Booking.com had taken my monies only to be told that the hotel insisted that the monies were not paid. Confusion.

Review 122:Staff were friendly, eager to assist.

Review 123:The staff at reception was incredibly rude. One of them, a female, tried to take advantages of the fact that the PHONE in the room DID NOT work by charching us 5 euros for a landline call from the reception desk. Another one, a male, did not return the change due when we paid the bill in cash, claiming that he had no change in the box. Outrageous.

Review 124:The location is pretty good if you are after a beach holiday

Review 125:Facilities sometime poor and old. Inside room for instance: tvmalfunctioning, air conditioning noisy, balcony window sliding door notclosing properly, furniture really aged.

Review 126:Location: wonderful balcony looking out the Tangier bay!

Review 127:Noisy local clubs so don't stay here if you want to sleep before 3am!

Review 128:great central location providing easy access to all amenities. Beach is on door-step as. Wifi is free and reliable. Rooms are good size and represent great value for money.

Review 129:When I asked if they would print off my air ticket, because of the 24hour rule, they refused. This was poor service when one's hands aretied by the air company.

Review 130:A spacious hotel with superb views from the bedroom. Good restaurant butdisappointingly did not serve Moroccan food, just international cuisine.Staff pleasant on arrival

Review 131:For Business traveller, their should be wifi access for computer's in rooms also, as to have to carry out work in lobby area is not comfortable and business like

Review 132:General facilities were good for short business trips (2-3 days).

Review 133:The breakfast was very poor. And it was one cockroach on the tea table in the restaurant.

Review 134:It is situated on the 1st line of the beach. The room was very big. Terrasa was looking to the beach. It was a gifts store in the hotel. Very good priced and sale service

Review 135:Looking a bit tired and needs some renovation or upgrade to rooms etc.

Review 136:On the beach.
