Reviews for Villa Rignana
Review 1:While you can pay for your stay by card, all the extras (food, wine) need to be paid in cash. Make sure there is somebody from your party witnessing the exchange of cash with the owner to avoid unpleasant discussions (we ended up paying twice).
Review 2:Villa is located in a beautiful surrounding. There are two excellent restaurants around that we really enjoyed (one of them l'Antica Scuderia offers the best pizzas we ate while in Tuscany). There is also a nice winery 15 minutes drive away (Cafaggio), but make sure you book your visit directly there as it costs much cheaper than booking through villa.
Review 3:very bumby dirt road to access the villa which is quite remote, lack of service- there were 3 very kind people around to help but they were clearly not enabled to take decisions. There was nothing available to eat/ snack at the villa- which is a bit of an issue given how remote the place is.
Review 4:Stunning location surrounded by beautiful scenery, nicely decorated room traditional but modern amenities- very charming. Nice tennis court, beautiful pool although it was too cold to swim. Lovely Cantinetta restaurant above the villa- about 15-20 minutes walk up the hill. Very quiet
Review 5:The staff and their effort towards guests, the unwillingness to help with our young child and the additional charge of €30 per night for a cot which never got cleaned or had the linen changed once, not even a blanket for out child was provided. Overall effort to guests was appalling
Review 6:The setting is beautiful
Review 7:Bring bug spray.
Review 8:Villa Rignana was absolutely gorgeous. While it was a little remote it offered such a relaxing experience with views that were breathtaking. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 9:we only saw the owner when we checked in, we were asked to pay immediately for the entire stay after which the owner left and we did not see her again... the staff had to take care of everything (including complaints of the other guests staying at the hotel), no airconditioning in the rooms, no hot water for the shower, poor breakfast for the price paid
Review 10:Very friendly staff, nice location, beautiful swimming pool
Review 11:The personality of the owner was less than ideal. We felt as if we were at times "intruding on her space" and didn't feel totally comfortable around her.
Review 12:The accommodations, view, peacefulness of the area were spectacular. The meals were terrific.
Review 13:The house was hard to find; they need better directions for guests. There were only two young people on staff, who were very nice, but it definitely felt like we were staying in a B&B, not a Relais hotel. When we booked online it said there was a safe in the room; instead there was no safe and the doors to our suite didn't lock, so we locked valuables in our car trunk (sort of inconvenient). We loved the dogs, but one kept trying to jump on us when we arrived.
Review 14:We loved the scenery, the adjoining suite with frescoed walls, and the saltwater swimming pool.
Review 15:There are some rules of the house that are not apparent when you first arrive, such as parts of the house reserved for the owners, which could be made clearer to guests.
Review 16:A husband and wife setup located in a secluded, gorgeous landscape with on-site wine production. The tennis court and the swimming pool are also great. What's not to like here!
Review 17:3km of rough track to get there. Mosquitos at night prevented good sleep. Cat trying to get into bedroom at 5am. Dogs (very friendly) in kitchen and dining area. Mediocre breakfast for the price paid.
Review 18:Fantastic views. Traditional style, interestingly furnished building. Garden, pool, tennis court. Communal dining/breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. More of a B&B than a hotel.
Review 19:No discernable road signs to this wonderful Villa...made getting there quite challenging.
Review 20:Wonderfully secluded location, beautiful grounds, tennis court, amazing swimming pool, comfortable rooms, attentive staff!
Review 21:The best of Toscane in this villa. 'Warm reception, the comfort and the space, the poool, we feel magnificently well in the middle of vineyards. very good dinner with a red wine Chianti classico reserva of the Villa Rignana, so an unforgettable stay. We will be back next year.
Review 22:Tha inly minus is that we couldn't stay longer
Review 23:Simply the best place we have been to. The breakfast was very tasty every day and it was served on an open terrace with the view over the hill - fantastic! The room was clean and very comfortable. As for the surroundings, tuscan fields are really beautiful! The owners have 4 dogs, several horses, roosters and gees, so this place is definitely for the animal-lovers and travelers with kids. And the restaurnt on the hill! truffle pasta and mixed milk cheese there is impossible to express in words!
Review 24:A little out of the way on the gravel road but worth it for the peaceful location and amazing views.
Review 25:The grounds and pool were beautiful and extremely well cared for. The staff were brilliant and taking the meal option for dinner proved to be the best food we have had in Italy. It was so peaceful and beautiful and just down the road from Greve. Also, walking distance to a gorgeous restaurant as well.
Review 26:Nothing
Review 27:Great location and beautiful scenery. The organic wine was great. Very helpful staff.
Review 28:nothing

Review 32:The food, the wine, the atmosphere, the service...brilliant
Review 33:The view is amazing as is the food! We loved everything about it!
Review 34:Very difficult to find
Review 35:For a holiday away from everywhere and a peaceful time
Review 36:Dirt track road, however if you want seclusion then it's a small price to pay. Would not stop me going back.
Review 37:Beautiful villa, relaxed owners, greAt breakfasts
Review 38:No fridge, no hairdryer, no bottled water and no Wifi in the room. Easy to fix this and sure they will. X
Review 39:Fantasic location and absolutely beautiful villa and gardens. Very comfortable bed and linen. Lovely owners and staff. Highly recommended even though there are a few negatives below. Oh ...and the restaurant just up the hill is truly Fantastic too, especially their Truffle pasta !
Review 40:it is not easy to get there as the road is rough but when you reach there you understanda that it is worth of having that road journey as the view and the hotel is amazing we ahve stayed in there for one day only but definitely will be back.
Review 41:Absolutely fantastic place, a real piece of Tuscan heaven. Food, wine all first class
