Reviews for Masseria Fumarola

Review 1:Poor wifi service, lunch availability hit and miss. Not a major problem but would have made a difference

Review 2:Beautiful location, stunning rooms and great pool. A very relaxing setting with great decor and ambience.

Review 3:Nothing.

Review 4:The Masseria is so beautiful, we couldn't have asked for a prettier setting! We loved our spacious room and great pool. The whole property is looked after so well and the staff were very helpful and attentive.

Review 5:Duplex room so had stairs, not ideal for babies/younger toddlers. No bath tub or baby bathtub available. Not enough lighting in bathroom & room. Scorpion in dark shower. Wifi was terrible.

Review 6:Friendly staff, lovely farm with relaxed feel, great breakfast.

Review 7:Wifi poor and non functional in rooms. Bedroom very damp. Lots of hidden charges eg swimming pool towels. Restaurant high cover charges etc

Review 8:Over anglicised but ok for a day or so

Review 9:Booking.com directions. Sky TV didn't work in the room.

Review 10:easy access to Martina Franca room was in very comfortable individual stone cottage. super swimming pool.

Review 11:WiFi is free but is variable around the site but not a big deal overall.

Review 12:Small hotel out of the way so quiet. Excellent rooms in lovely converted old farm buildings. Food was local specialities and was very good and the whole atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. Pleasant grounds and nice small pool with terrace. We had a large suite which was a nice room to sit in as well as the bedroom but also had small patio in the sun outside the room. Very good.

Review 13:I was somewhat shocked that my "luxury suite" was so cold and forbidding looking, - all that stone. Although the room was unusual and adequately furnished - it was not my idea of a "luxury suite".

Review 14:The staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. The setting marvellous with a wonderful pool area which, unfortunately we couldn't use - too cold and too late in the season. Breakfast and dinner offerings were very good in a lovely dining room and a lovely communal seating area complete with warm, welcome log burning fire. Drinks, alcoholic or not available. Nice after a day of exploring.

Review 15:the bed was a bit hard.

Review 16:The best food in the region and wonderful accommodations. Sleeping beneath the dome of the trulli was very satisfying. We were given a better room than we reserved because they wanted to please us. The pool is beautiful, the service lovely. A lovely family home where the family is in residence, but in a different part of the establishment.

Review 17:Heavy ceramic bottles of shampoo/shower gel with little round stoppers, pretty but very slippery when wet and positively dangerous. The washbasin in our bathroom was cracked very badly and maybe that's why? This should have acknowledged when we arrived as it was disappointing as a first impression, obviously if it had just happened and it would have been tricky to repair we would have understood, but ignoring it just makes the room look bad. The safe didn't work, and tho we reported it immediately it got forgotten. When reminded however Danny pulled out all the stops to fix it. My only other Gripe is a biggy. The beds are very, very hard. I heard others complaining about this. The pillows are nasty and flat. Not what you expect in a place of this otherwise superior quality!

Review 18:The beautiful and fascinating buildings Stylish simple, elegant and characterful decor and style. Free liquors. The pool. The intimacy, its a very small hotel. The food was good, the red wine was to die for! Wonderful cakes! Liked the electronic gate, it made you feel secure. Staff helpful.

Review 19:The diversaty of dishes at dinner is very limited, particularly if you stay a week.

Review 20:Very quiet, but still close to a lot of pleasant places and sights. Beautiful big garden with many hidden places to read a book etc. Nice pool area. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 21:The beds were very hard (for us) but may suit others. A minor quibble really, in an otherwise pretty perfect place.

Review 22:We stayed a week and it took about 10mins to unwind and get into the daily routine of late breakfast, laze by the pool, order poolside lunch around 2pm, siesta after that and dinner at about 9. This place is ideal for recharging batteries. It's quite remote if you don't have a car but Martina Franca is a short cab ride away and the owners will organise a car to take you in and pick you up again at the end of the night. The restaurant serves basic but delicious food and offers a good selection of excellent and reasonably priced local wines. Breakfast was particularly good!

Review 23:Not much.

Review 24:Great design. Interesting place. Cool rooms. Free upgrade. Simple pleasures. Pool side menu simple and delicious. Service impeccable. Very relaxing. Not over done. Great wine. Seriously great for a relaxing break without pretension or fuss.

Review 25:It was further out of Martina Franca than expected. Expensive because of its exclusiveness. Bed was a bit hard and lumpy. Food fairly average but not expensive. Overall a good experience.

Review 26:Very exclusive place in wonderful buildings. Lovely welcome and beautiful pool, sitting room and restaurant. Antipasti were excellent and breakfasts excellent too. Aperitivi and digestivi a very nice extra touch once one got the hang of it.

Review 27:The owners should spend more time with guests and help them to discover the beautiful surroundings. Very little info is given. The breakfast had lots of beautiful cakes, but very few salty options. Eggs were served, but never offered. The lady who served breakfast never smiled and was almost hostile to guests. I can only recommend to Anna, the lovely owner, to get more hands on in the management of everything.

Review 28:Beautifully designed and spacious Masseria. Very peaceful pool, breakfast and lunch area. We loved our room and it remained cool in July, no air con needed. We had dinner one night which was good, but there are plenty of enjoyable options outside. Paula and Adriana were great staff and made our lunches and stay enjoyable.

Review 29:Bed too hard Lacking heart, a bit soul-less, I think due to the fact that the owner had no presence. Breakfast nothing special and strangely laid out.

Review 30:Chic décor Set in a beautiful part of Italy Stylish, spacious room Helpful reception staff Very good dinner Lovely al fresco eating area

Review 31:The place is really gorgeous and a great location. The food is wonderful but the one thing that stood out is the fact that the staff are all so attentive and friendly. A wonderful place for a vacation.

Review 32:I liked the quality of the farm, the staff were charming but the beds were very hard for my liking.

Review 33:Welcome felt more formal than warm.

Review 34:Beautiful place. Piece and quiet. Nice pool and service. Good food. Great suite.

Review 35:Diner's Quality : not so good Anti pasti good

Review 36:Needed a bit more air circulation in our room. Pillows a bit hard for one of us, perfect for the other. But these are minor compared to the overall pleasure of our stay

Review 37:Loved the beautiful grounds, so many private and romantic spots to sit and relax or read or write or chat or just be. Pool lovely. Staff so attentive and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely per dinner drinks under the trees one evening, another in the attractive lounge area. And the food was wonderful. Ate there all 3 nights of our stay. The appetisers especially memorable.

Review 38:Masseria Fumarola is the best place we've stayed in Italy by a long way. The Masseria was gorgeous, in a perfect location, and so relaxing and friendly. The food was delicious too. It was also in a perfect locaiton for exploring the surrounding area in Puglia.

Review 39:Not being able to see England win the 1st Ashes Test when the satellite link went down after a thunder storm!..............but I can't blame the staff for that!!

Review 40:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was superb. Excellent pasta dishes and wonderful cheese and vegetables.

Review 41:I would have liked tea/coffee facilities within the suite

Review 42:Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Site is safe and secure. Owners were around and also helpful. Room Safe and Wi-fi was at no extra cost

Review 43:Everything, perhaps a choice for evening meal. You certainly benefit from a sat nav

Review 44:loved it all

Review 45:the staff was very nice and helpful the grounds are beautiful and well kept the designs are elegant

Review 46:Stylish, large rooms in a very relaxing setting
