Reviews for Ganesha Kampot Eco Guesthouse

Review 1:The path in was pretty bad and bumpy. Perhaps a widening and improvement of the path could be looked into for the future.

Review 2:Excellent and friendly staff. Everyone was all smiles, warm and happy to engage us in conversation. It felt like we were guests at a friend's farmhouse. I've read reviews that mention that the food was pricey, but I feel you get what you pay for. Super chilled out. I went expecting very little and was pleasantly surprised by warm running water for showers and good clean rooms.

Review 3:Owner used a lot of bad langauge . Too bad if you don't like dogs there were 6 that lived in the communal areas . When I went to the toilet about 11pm one night 3 Great Dane dogs surrounded me , which was a bit scary . The spaniel dog had a very strong dog smell . The road leading to the guest house needs fixing as was very deeply rutted .

Review 4:Staff, were really nice , food was fabulous.

Review 5:4kms out of town in an interesting rice farming area. We loved 5 days at a riverside hut. The shared bathroom was fine. The food was very good and fairly priced. It was great to use bicycles and canoe. If you are a militant non-smoker be aware that the cafe area is well used by smokers.Special thanks to Brenda and Pov.

Review 6:If you have your own snacks or drinks with you you will have to pay an extra fee. Food is quite expensive in the restaurant and no other food options are near the hotel. Our room was not really clean.

Review 7:Great location to relax, friendly staff and very cute dogs.

Review 8:No bad experience. The clamboo over de bed is bit small.

Review 9:Great staff! They give good advice about what to explore. Its an lovely place with a good, relaxing , hippie admosphere. Very tasty food! (Try the Amok ) Great sunset:)

Review 10:Nothing!

Review 11:Friendly staff, remote location in the jungle next to the river so good for chilling. Clean, basic facilities but great bar and dining area with good food. Eco friendly ethos. Bikes for hire and easily arranged tuk-tuk rides to Kampot or further afield.

Review 12:It's really amazing place, close to the nature.....best place to relax after living in big cities. Helpful stuff and nice special atmosphere there.

Review 13:It is a little bit outside, so you always need a tuk tuk to save money to get to town we recommend renting a motorbike.

Review 14:We liked the remoteness and rural setting with the really pretty surrounding landscape. The owner was really helpful in organizing motorbike rental and giving directions.

Review 15:mud and mosquitoes might be a bit of a challenge for a longer stay. we went in the rainy season.

Review 16:great location -a real adventure getting there. Very good food available to buy. Great ambience for hippy travellers.

Review 17:Compared to the rooms food is a bit pricy (no alternatives nearby) Staying in the mainhouse is noisy, after 12 ok The place is 4km out of town. In the middle of nowwhere. Fine if you like to be out of the city Bikes not in good shape

Review 18:The staff is amazing, really friendly and helpfull If you like to be in a Hippie place surrounded by beautiful nature, this is the Place to be Delicious food in the restaurant

Review 19:Ganesha is located on a bend in the river amongst ferns and coconut trees. There are lizards and fireflies to find and the only sounds to be heard at night are made by frogs and cicadas. The staff will organise everything for you from bicycle and scooter hire to tuk tuks, buses, tours and laundry. Nothing was too much trouble. The food is cooked fresh and delicious. You can hire a canoe and paddle around the river, there are bicycles as well, a well stocked bar as well as a supply of board and card games in case of rain. We extended our stay here because we enjoyed it so much, I would highly recommend it.

Review 20:Absolutely nothing negative to say!

Review 21:We meant to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 5. This place is amazing! From the location to the food to the rooms - just perfect for a quiet, relaxed stay in kampot. The staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Review 22:The only drawback of this place is that it's a little way out of the town centre but it's worth being a bit further out for this place. You can generally get a tuk tuk to the guest house from Kampot for $3 and it's $4 the other way around or at night. There is only cold water in the showers too which some people may find off putting.

Review 23:A beautiful place to stay. The views of the Bokor Mountains from the huts are absolutely spectacular. The guesthouse is set in a peaceful location and the staff are fantastic. They give great advice on what to do in the area and are happy to arrange tuk tuks or moot taxis for guests. The food is good and very reasonably priced.

Review 24:Amazing place, absolut worth a stay!! The Staffan was friendly and helpfull, the food was amazing. It feelt like your at some body home so nice feeling:)

Review 25:Only con was that the bedrooms in the main building share an open ceiling space. Not too bad if people are sleeping but if someone Skypes home at 3am, you will probably be disturbed.

Review 26:The food is very good. Superb vegetarian options. Located in a beautiful spot. Taking the canoe out was a highlight.

Review 27:We stayed a few nights in the main house (above the bar) so some night time sounds float about. (The rooms further away are super peaceful though). That's it though!

Review 28:Cool, relaxed space to chill, slightly hippie-ish vibe (in a great way). Attentive and relaxed staff, who are super helpful and end up as friends after a few days. Great food at reasonable prices.

Review 29:- bit far from the city, could be a problem for some people.. for us being far away was a positive thing!

Review 30:Beautiful surrounding nature. Price quality really good. Nice food. Staff is willing to help you with everything. we just had an lovely and peaceful stay at ganesha, I would recommend this to anyone!

Review 31:I guess the cold shower is the only hard thing to handle. But you get used to it..

Review 32:Everything! The quiet, the simplicity, the staff, even the cold shower ;)

Review 33:The quietness of the location, and the fact that I was left alone to do my thing unless I wanted assistance, then the staff were always ready and happy to be of help.

Review 34:If you need to go out from Ganesha, you must hire a Tuk Tuk which costs $4-5.

Review 35:I think Ganesha is a great place to stay if you prefer to be away from the busy township living or tourists. It gives you a sense of traditional Khemer style home in a modern setting. I love the way Ganesha decorates the room. The owners are very friendly and accommodative. Food is delicious especially the ice cream.

Review 36:The cold shower The distance from the city (4$ in tuk tuk but it is the price for a very quiet place).

Review 37:The food!!! Excellent! The peacefulness of the place The possibility of canoë and mountain bike renting

Review 38:It is a very cool place overlooking the river, very good to relax. The food was excellent.

Review 39:Beautiful peaceful location, outstanding staff and the best food in kampot!

Review 40:The wooden canoe needs some attention.

Review 41:Perfect tranquility Excellent food Beautiful setting

Review 42:When going to Vietnam arrange transport to Ha Tien, not to the border, there you will be screwed.

Review 43:Beautiful between rice fields and along quiet river.

Review 44:Great place to just relax and take in the country.

Review 45:That we couldn't stay longer

Review 46:How relaxed, friendly and welcoming the place was.

Review 47:It was really far away from the city. U have always to order a tuktuk to get to the city.

Review 49:Amazing location in the jungle, fantastic, helpful and friendly staff, a relaxed vibe. Perfect.
