Reviews for Hotel Broletto

Review 1:Construction works in front of the window, but it wasn't a problem

Review 2:Very nice hotel.very very clean and modern room, breakfast is good. Very close to the all main sightseeings.

Review 3:if you go back and check our booking you will find you directed us to another hotel (former parnter of Broletto. it became difficult to figure out what went wrong and how to get to the Broletto. taxi fares, etc.

Review 4:The room was rather small and was in need of some redecoration and updating.

Review 5:This is an unpretentious, reliable hotel in an ideal location for exploring Mantova. The staff are friendly and helpful; breakfast with a good range of items is included in the price - good value.

Review 6:Air con was useless, bathroom layout was terrible, no room for legs to sit on toilet as shower in the way, but bathroom was quite large (I'm 5'2") and shower was really small. Building site right across narrow street wasn't attractive but hopefully they'll be finished soon

Review 7:Location - right beside the huge piazza in centre of old town

Review 8:I don't know about the cost of lodging in Mantova, but it was a little expensive for a smaller city, even with its historical significance.

Review 9:Location, staff, and breakfast were great.

Review 10:Room was fairly minimal (especially on storage for clothes), although bright and cheerful. Bathroom well equipped (but surprised to find no facial tissues) We were in the residence (annex), not the main hotel

Review 11:Friendly staff, good quiet location in the old part of Mantua

Review 12:No fault of hotel but cab to Verona airport was much more costly than uncooked taxi from Verona airport to mantua. More pleasant journey via Rocca I think

Review 13:As above

Review 14:Small claustrophobic room, badly appointed, badly maintained, terrible lighting. Poor breakfast in small overcrowded room. Very expensive for what they have to offer.

Review 15:the location, the overall cleanliness.

Review 16:All Good

Review 17:The Staff were very helpful, friendly and booked us tickets for the Camera Sposi .The breakfast was varied with homemade cakes and delicious coffee.

Review 18:Staff was extremely friendly. Room was plenty big enough and quiet, Another chair would have been nice since there were 2 of us. Nice bathroom and good breakfast.

Review 19:I liked the personal style of the interior decoration of my room. However, it was rather small and cramped, I thought, for a double room. The same applies to the bathroom. There was nowhere to sit and relax. The price was much too high, everything considered.

Review 20:I liked the location very much, right in the middle of the old - and very picturesque - part of town. The hotel seemed to be well organised and 'managed', the staff very friendly. The breakfast menue was fairly ok for an Italian hotel, with different varieties of the traditional Italian pastry.

Review 21:Room was smelling a very tiny bit, but this would not at all stop me from staying again.

Review 22:CC bus from main station brings you to the hotel in a couple of minutes. Hotel is very, very central. Unfortunately, I missed breakfast, which seems to be good. You can leave your luggage at reception, which is occupied during day time.

Review 23:Really nothing

Review 24:This was an excellent choice. We were lucky to find a parking place just outside the hotel and the staff were very helpful in warning us to move the car before the Thursday morning market in the street. Good breakfast despite slightly cramped dining room.

Review 25:Wi Fi could not be accessed from my room. Had to sit in breakfast room to use internet.

Review 26:Clean and comfortable room with good sized en suite . Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast.

Review 27:Parking can be a challenge - buy a ticket from the hotel and you can park on the street.

Review 28:We knew nothing about Mantova but came here for one night on a whim on our journey from Bergamo to Florence - we wished we had stayed for several days. Quaint, family run hotel right in the centre of the old part of town. the staff were warm, friendly and helpful and our room and wi fi excellent! A little noisy at night but the windows are double glazed and make all the difference,

Review 29:Via dell'Accademia (the street below my window) is very noisy at night. You could close the windows and put on the air condition but you were stuck if you don't like to sleep with the aircondition on

Review 30:The room was OK- a bit small. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The location is excellent.

Review 31:Room was quite small. A little noisy on first night but I think it was a festival night so no complaints

Review 32:Very friendly staff. Wonderful location. Very 'cosy' hotel.

Review 33:There was no shampoo in the room neither on request, only bath foam. Noise from the street.

Review 34:Very friendly owner. The room was small and a bit noisy but on an excellent location. Good breakfast

Review 35:There was nothing I didn't like.

Review 36:Location perfect for Mantova. The room was modern, pretty and clean. The staff were most friendly. A very pleasant find in a lovely city.

Review 37:Parking is not easy. The hotel staff will help you with parking permission. We missed some non-white bread for breakfast. WiFi was out of order.

Review 38:The hotel is located in an old and charming house close to everything. The rooms are very clean and well equipped and big enough for several days stay. The staff spoke good English and are very helpfull. Breakfast was with good croissants and cakes. Many good restaurants close to the hotel e.g. "Antica Osteria, Leoncino rosso" and a very basic (but charming) cafe on Piazza Brolette next to the hotel.

Review 39:A bit expensive

Review 40:Location and family/friendly style

Review 41:Room a bit little even for one personn

Review 42:Nice and clean hotel, good location

Review 43:Woken by noise in streets 5-6 am

Review 44:Good central position. Comfortable room with bath

Review 45:Very noizy, even I asked for quiet room, it was impossible to sleep.

Review 46:Good stuff, clean rooms.

Review 47:Rooms are quite small with little space around the double bed.

Review 48:Excellent central location. Very friendly staff with enough English.

Review 49:N/A

Review 50:Excellent location. Helpful staff.

Review 51:Helpful tips from the owners, perfect location for the historic centre and lovely home made cakes and bites at breakfast

Review 52:The location is perfect and the room stylish and spacious.

Review 53:Noisy on Saturday evening, my husband couldn't sleep, but I did!

Review 54:Warm welcome, excellent position.

Review 55:nothing

Review 56:the charm of the room 104

Review 57:None

Review 58:Lovely room ,balcony overlooking the street, welcoming helpful staff, easy parking right outside the door. Will definitley star there again.

Review 59:Decent hairdryer so could actually dry my hair -great thanks. Very Central position

Review 60:No sitting chair in the room. Needed to ask for an additional fill up of coffee at breakfast

Review 61:Locality.

Review 62:The wifi wasn't good enough I'm afraid

Review 63:The people in the hotel

Review 64:Central location, comfortable hotel, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 65:on a fairly busy street

Review 66:wonderful central location 2 bathrooms on-street parking helpful staff

Review 67:a VERY small bed; would be very uncomfortable for a large person

Review 68:location; cleanliness; helpfulness of staff

Review 69:room size

Review 70:location

Review 71:...not much of anything

Review 72:Location and breakfast. Good soundproof windows. Cute city and good food.

Review 73:Calm and efficiency

Review 74:Breakfast room a little bit cramped

Review 75:Good location for viewing the sights, and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Facilities generally OK.

Review 76:The location The breakfasts especially the lady serving

Review 77:The parking is not that good

Review 78:The town is charming

Review 79:The hotel was central and handy for all the places of interest. The staff were delightful and did all they could to make our stay comfortable

Review 80:Perfect location, comfortable room, generous breakfast goodies, gracious and helpful staff

Review 81:Right in the heart of town and the staff were excellent

Review 82:bit of an issue over parking - market day...

Review 83:very clean, pleasant room, friendly staff, good location

Review 84:Excellent location, lovely staff, great breakfast and very quiet

Review 85:the staff was not helpful when our air conditioning did not work. the wifi connection did not work at all no matter if we were in our room, in the lobby or in the breakfast room.

Review 86:the location was good, the hotel was quiet and clean and breakfast was good. the owner came to the rescue because the staff did not when our air conditioning did not work. he could not or did not do anything to help us connect to wifi.

Review 87:First floor rooms over kitchens or restaurants. Our room was small, noisy and hot, with very inefficient air conditioning and erratic servicing of room. On our experience,we regret we could not recommend this hotel.

Review 88:Central location,room clean on arrival,staff generally friendly,good breakfast.

Review 89:Nothing. We would stay there again and would recommend the hotel.

Review 90:Great location, we requested to stay in the new part of the hotel, which was a good choice for us. Very comfortable rooms. Nice breakfast. Lovely staff serving breakfast.

Review 91:This area of the city contains some of the key tourist sites which every student in Italy(?) must be required to visit. If you like to keep your windows open, you need to be willing to put up with the noise of large school groups throughout the weekdays. Things do get much quieter at night.

Review 92:The location was excellent for walking from one end of Mantova to the other. We did this several times each day always discovering new things. The staff also made some excellent recommendations for dinners. Again, they were easy to walk to. No need for a car while you are in Mantova.

Review 93:Right in downtown Mantova, this very tastefully decorated hotel is close to all the main attractions. You can park on the same street of the hotel buying a daily pass at the reception. Good breakfast with many options (croissants, cakes, yogurt, but also fruits, bread, cheese, salame, etc). Staff was nice and discreet.

Review 94:I found the bed uncomfortable, the pillow synthetic . Would have been nice to have shampoo in the bathroom

Review 95:Breakfast was good, location great, staff friendly and helpful

Review 96:The bed was less good than others we had during our trip, even if OK. We were a little put out that after 11.00 pm (until 7.00 am) the Hotel was not staffed (night code for entry and no use of lift). It should have been staffed all night for the three star grading and money we paid

Review 97:The charming staff, the perfect central location, the very pleasant room and bathroom, the excellent breakfast.

Review 98:There seems to be some building design defect, from my room I could hear constant water running inside water pipes. It is not horribly loud, but a bit annoying if you are a light sleeper. But it is not loud from the square downstairs since they have double windows. The fridge is low quality and very loud which I unplugged for the night.

Review 99:Great location, central to all the major sights, shops and restaurants. I walked all around the city and I am glad I chose this hotel because the part close to the station and Palazzo Te is not so nice. You definitely want to stay close to the old city. I stayed in a junior suit in the new building which is two min away from the old hotel. The new one building is totally renovated, modern and comfortable. The breakfast room is located in the new buildings. The breakfast was very good with everything I needed, a combo between typical Italian and German breakfast. The room itself is small and a bit on the dark side. I had a pleasant stay.

Review 100:lacks personal touch, no clear info about wi-fi use, and minibar prices not in room, no glasses and would be nice to have had a map or some info about the area in the room. Parking not great.

Review 101:perfect location, great staff, very friendly, very clean and excellent breakfast

Review 102:A well located hotel lin the heart of Mantova. Perfect for exploring the city, shopping and enjoying nearby restaurants. Hotel staff friendly and helpful.

Review 103:as usual no tea/coffee facilities in room!

Review 104:very central - straight out of door to shops, old city, restaurants etc. Spacious room and good bathroom. Lovely breakfast

Review 105:This hotel is brand new everything is immaculate and is beautiful. Breakfast was great and the owner and his staff were tremendous . You cannot go wrong staying at this hotel!

Review 106:The WiFi router is downstairs and the signal doesn't quite reach the third floor. Also, I like sleeping with the window open, and I get up early, so the city cleaning trucks at 6 AM did not bother me, but they might bother others.

Review 107:Charming location in the very center of town, very comfy accommodations.

Review 108:The hotel has two locations. Our friends booked separately from us and did not specify that we were all together. We were given tooms in different buildings. This was a minor problem, just something to be aware of.

Review 109:The hotel's location in the centre of town, and despite this, the ease of obtaining parking for two cars right ourside. The breakfast was generous, the rooms in the modern wing were newly refurbished and comfortable.

Review 110:There was NOTHING to dislike about the hotel, staff, location!!

Review 111:Everything! The room was very comfortable and clean; the breakfast was delicious and filling; the staff were charming and accommodating. But the BEST thing is how wonderful, warm, and welcoming the owners (Angela & Roberto) are, and how much they pamper their guests! The Hotel Broletto was the perfect stay for our visit to the beautiful city of Mantova!! We WILL be back!

Review 112:We spent 3 nights in Mantova, a most attractive city, not besieged bytourists and with plenty to see and very nice to walk around. This hotelis perfectly located in the center, and the deal of 2.60 euros a day forparking is an excellent one. The staff is friendly and helpful, and thebreakfast is very good.

Review 113:Noise from the street late at night and also early in the morning.

Review 114:A lovely hotel, everything was fine. Very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant next door (at the corner) is really nice, and so is the bar you get to if you turn right from the exit.

Review 115:The hotel is in an ancient building so the lift was small and unreliable. The bathrooms were small. Could not use the toilet when shower screen was in position. Breakfast was adequate but not special.

Review 116:Quieter than Verona, but plenty to see for a short visit. Many lively restaurants nearby. Helpful staff. Parking in the restricted zone was not a problem with their help.

Review 117:not a thing!

Review 118:We liked everything! The location in the old town was perfect - 15 minutes walk from the train station and easy to find. The hotel is beautifully decorated and sparklingly clean, staff are very friendly and breakfast is nice. It is close to lots of lovely restaurants in quaint back streets. We would definitely stay at the hotel again.

Review 119:My room on the 3rd floor (also the top floor) is pretty hot. The air conditioner, despite its noise, is only effective in a very narrow area. It might be better asking for a room on another floor.

Review 120:location, breakfast, free wifi (though it's a bit annoying asking for different sets of id and password every 12 or 24 hours)

Review 121:The position of this hotel was perfect. The beautiful, old centre ofthis outstanding city was literally right on the doorstep, not eventwo minutes walk. We were able to park right opposite the entrance tothe hotel and leave our car there for our whole stay. My favouritecity in Italy.

Review 122:No air conditioning in room. Small chaotic breakfast room.

Review 123:Friendly family management. Pedestrian city centre location. Perfect WIFI, quality breakfast

Review 124:Car parking can be somewhat bothersome and you need to purchase a parking token every day. Thursday is the market day and you need to move your car out of the center.

Review 125:Excellent location in the heart of historic Mantova. Everything you need in walking distance from the hotel with good restaurants and cafe's just around the corner. Friendly staff. Clean rooms with crispy beds and clean bath rooms.

Review 126:No complaints

Review 127:City centre location but great double glazing so no noise. The whole place was beautifully appointed and sparkling clean.Staff friendly.

Review 128:The small friendly family-run hotel with good facilities and an excellent location. We would book again if ever in Mantova. We enjoyed Mantova and your hotel, thank you.Help with parking was excellent. The Scruttons and Sturmheits

Review 129:The noise of citylife obliged us to keep the windows closed and this meant that ventilation was not possible. A major drawback!

Review 130:After earlier experiences with hotels where you needed a car to go to restaurants and sightseeing we decided to opt for a location in the heart of Mantua. As far as location we couldn't have found a more central hotel. Parking was available with the licences the receptionist provided.

Review 131:The bed was uncomfortable with no headboard and uncomfortable hardbolsters. There were no comfortable chairs to sit in . The tv was tinyand had no channels in English. The bathroom door would not openproperly and jammed on the tiled floor. There were only thin plasticdisposable cups provided in the bathroom to clean teeth and when thrownaway after use were not replaced. There was a folded extra bed in themiddle of the room which took up a lot of space. The breakfast wasmeagre and there was just enough space for all the guests and the tableswere tiny. The hotel was noisy due to the fact there was no carpeting and the noise of people climbing stairs and walking about could be heard throughout. It had a very central location but noise started at 5.30am with street cleaning.

The Fine Print

The hotel is in a restricted traffic area. A permit, which allows guests to drive into the area and park, can be purchased at reception.
