Reviews for Podere Campriano

Review 1:Wonderful location with great views of the area. Comfortable room and a very good breakfast! Enjoyed some very beautiful sunsets up near the pool area and it was a short but scenic walk through their vineyards down into Greve. No complaints!

Review 2:No bad experience. We eventually adapted to the stairs from the bedroom to the bathroom downstairs.

Review 3:Best of all is the location, far enough from town but near enough for meals at night. Elena had developed a comprehensive info pack for guests. The whole ambience of the place was relaxing.

Review 4:Not much really. Air conditioning would be nice or a second fan for the lounge room.

Review 5:Elena was amazing. Lovely lady always helpful. The food. The view. The split Level apartment. The pool on the hill overlooking the valley. And Zotti the dog!

Review 6:True treasure in the heart of Chianti! We stayed in an old wine cellar, tasted some excellent wine and enjoyed the pool with an astonishing view over Tuscan hills. Elena was a lovely hostess. Our only regret is that we didn't stay any longer. We will definitely come back.

Review 7:We stayed three nights and the room was not fixed on the second night. For me it is a very minor thing.

Review 8:This was probably the best hotel during our holidays. It is located in Greve in Chianti but on a hill. That means that you get the best view of the town and the vineyards. They have a pool which is definitely a plus with the hot summer weather. The building is made of very thick stone, that means that although it can be 35 deg outside, the room keeps cool. They also produce their own wine, olive oil, salami and a very special syrup that you can try for breakfast (bolero I think it was called, we regretted not buying it at the end). I will recommend it and I will love to come back.

Review 9:The rooms aren't very soundproof. Normally this wouldn't be much of an issue, but we unfortunately had some noisy children that were up and playing loudly at 6 a.m. Elena did try to correct the issue with the parents.

Review 10:Elena is a wonderful hostess and will do whatever it takes to make your stay enjoyable. The property is very beautiful and comfortable. As an international traveler, WiFi was very important to make plans, etc., and it was very reliable.

Review 11:NONE!

Review 12:it is just a short drive from Florence & it is situated very near the square where we spent half of the day exploring. Elena was very thoughtful & friendly. I love walking around her estate which is very scenic. The room we stayed in was very clean & well heated during the winter, including the toilet.

Review 13:The comfort of the bed was too firm for us, but mattresses are a very personal thing, so I realise it is not possible to please everyone.

Review 14:Our host, property and views were excellent. Elena, our host, was very welcoming. This is a very beautiful and well cared for vineyard and home which they share with many travellers.

Review 15:Nothing to write.

Review 16:Great location up in the hills overlooking Greve, yet only minutes from town centre and all amenities. Elena goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay for her guests. Breakfasts are tailored savoury or sweet using fresh homemade ingredients. The pool, garden and views are wonderful especially for a sunset over the hills. Due to being up in the hills a car is necessary but as mentioned above the town is only minutes away. The wine produced from Podere Campriano is also exceptional and must be tried with an antipasto.

Review 17:We spent one week at Podere Campriano and it was absolute perfection. First off the property is beautiful with panoramic views of the Chianti hills. The old restored farmhouse is elegant and rooms are spacious. The salt water swimming pool is stunning. Elena and her wonderful family made us feel right at home. They were the epitome of hospitality, including their loveable dog Zotto. The farmhouse is a short walk to Greve, which is a wonderful town to base yourself to explore the region. I can't recommend Podere Campriano enough! We can't wait to return.

Review 18:There is nothing to dislike about this place.

Review 19:We liked everything, location, room. Elena is a superstar host,we would have loved to stay longer. Picked us up and dropped us off at bus stop etc. great breakfasts to.

Review 20:The location was perfect -walking distance to Greve but in the country over looking the town.

Review 21:My inexperience with mosquito bites.

Review 22:The staff, location, amenities and area were excellent.

Review 23:Family and location

Review 24:Helena is wonderful. The location is ideal. The property is beautiful!

Review 25:Only Italian breakfast available.

Review 26:Location, clean, Elena is very friendly and helpful. We also liked the pool and the wine :)

Review 27:Elena is the perfect host making you feel very welcome

Review 28:No bad experience but a small refrigerator in the room would be lovely.

Review 29:The helpfulness of the hosts.

Review 30:Highly recommended and intend to visit again soon!

Review 31:elena was wonderful! so helpful in her recommendations. great location and property. terrific home and the view was breathtaking. too cold to swim. I would love to go back. terrific wine and spices as well. fantastic trip

Review 32:nothing

Review 33:Everything, surrounded by a lovely vineyard yet only 5 minutes walk to Greve centre, being made very welcome by Elena and her family, to the beautiful pool, gardens and marvellous rooms. Put me down for next year !

Review 34:We loved this place. Elena and her family were the best hosts. The apartment was lovely and ideal for us. We loved the stroll downtown to eat in the evening along with a perfect view. Her tour of the winery was great. The family's passion of their business and home were highly evident. This was our first visit to Italy with our goal to tour the Tuscany and Piedmont wine regions in only two weeks. This was one of our favorite locations and one we will come back to Podere Campriano with the idea of staying here a week or more. We were here in February but it was still a great visit even if not able to swim. It is also a winery we plan to continue ordering from. Thank you Elena - oh yes, the breakfast savory and sweet were yummy!! L & L

Review 35:I'm sorry, I can't think of anything. Oh, alright - the bed was a bit on the small side for my largish (1,83m) frame

Review 36:Location, owners, accommodation, facilities.

Review 37:There is nowhere in the apartment to relax as a group. No couch or chairs except for the kitchen table and chair set. No major hardship but it would've made it even better. We did the dishes luckily, but apparently there is a charge if you don't, so heads up!

Review 38:Amazing hostess, the 2-bedroom apartment was stunning, well laid out, nice bathrooms, location is very convenient to downtown Greve, not much we didn't love!

Review 39:I would have liked to have taken one of Alana's cooking classes, which she gives on the outdoor brick oven. However, she was unable to dothis with us on short notice. I suggest you make arrangements ahead oftime. I suspect it would be well worth it as she is an excellent cook.We were disappointed we were unable to do this. But, understand it wasour fault that we did not mention this at the time of our booking.

Review 40:The owner , Alana, was wonderful. Her attention to detail was clear. Awonderful breakfast was included in which she set our table inanticipation of our arrival. It included freshly homemade cake, freshfruit, fresh homemade jams and bread, juice, coffee. The food wasdelicious. We ate in the wine cellar surrounded by their own bottles oforganic chianti, olive oil, and eliser. Later, we were able to walk upthe mountain to a grass landing that had a firepit for guests to use. Onour second evening, my husband and I walked into to town and boughtsteaks, fresh porcini mushrooms and other things, which we grilled onthe bbq as we looked at the panoramic view at sun set. We drank thecomplimentary bottle of Chiati that Alana gave us and brushed themushrooms with the organic olive oil she makes. It was delicious and oneof the best evenings of our trip.

Review 41:Owner, Elena, is very special and speaks good English. This is a working family vineyard and farm with lovely facilities, close {in} town, and convenient to all of Chianti. We would go back.

Review 42:We arrived a little a early and there was no one there that spoke English. Also, the walk back from town to the hotel is up quite a steep hill (and at night there are no lights to see your way). A suggestion would be to put some solar lighting along the drive so you see where you are going.

Review 43:the rooms tended to be a little warm (stayed at end of summer) without airconditioning.

Review 44:Location so close to the town, property was beautiful, Elena was welcoming & helpful. The room was really spacious & tidy, breakfast in the cellar an absolutely delicious highlight!

Review 45:Having to leave.

Review 46:Everything - I can rave on about this place but advise you to go and see for yourself if you're going to this area. The hosts are exeptional, so helpful and truly wonderfully hospitable! And what great location just 5 minutes walking from the city Greve in Chianti, Podere Campriano is a hideaway and true gem.

Review 47:Everything was fabulous

Review 48:The pool with the panoramic view of the tuscan hills!! Breakfast in the wine cellar with Elena's home made jams and cakes. Quiet and beautiful setting The town of Greve with its restaurants and shops

Review 49:We were up a steep hill to get to the hotel which was a bit annoying but it didn't take anything away from the trip.

Review 50:The location was amazing, staying right in the middle of a vineyard and having breakfast in the cellar was lovely. Elena was lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was lovely and spacious, clean and in the perfect Tuscan setting! Near the town so plenty of options for going out for dinner without worrying about driving.

Review 51:Nothing -everything was great
