Reviews for B&B Il Pavone
Review 1:The family were so lovely! They couldn't do enough for us. They took us wherever we needed to go every morning. They recommended a great tour of Capri and also some great lookout points and hiking trails. The breakfast was delicious! So much food! Yum. The view from our terrace and breakfast was breathtaking :) There is a bus stop about 100m down the road too which was handy.
Review 2:All good!
Review 3:Superb,warm & wonderful hosts, they go out of their way to be helpful. Lovely breakfast served on their terrace. Breath taking view, cosy & comfortable rooms.
Review 4:Nothing!
Review 5:Everything!! Vito, Carmella and Salvatore were absolutely brilliant hosts who will do anything for their guests to make their stay even more comfortable than it was. The breakfast was outstanding with fresh fruit and eggs how you like it every day. Location is perfect away from the hustle and bustle of Amalfi though reachable by foot. 4 km's (45-1hour) Steps are a part of life on the Amalfi Coast so get used to it!! Would definitely stay again.
Review 6:Salvatore and his parents made our stay unforgetable. The stay at Il Pavone was better than expected. It was just a perfect stay for us. The breakfast is getting prepared by Salvatore and his parents with a huge variety of different fruits (own garden) and the best cappuccino ever. Thanks to Salvatore and his father & mother. All was perfect. We will come back!!!!
Review 7:Excellent rooms, fantastic views, great breakfast & support and advice from family, great location provided you did not want to be in the centre of everything. Super restaurant within walking distance with courtesy car to take you home. Go to the beach (book on the solarium) have some lunch with peach wine, then take a quick boat ride to Amalfi then jump on the bus back to the apartment - really easy and adds to the fun of the day.
Review 8:I have the privilege of travelling on business frequently, and probably stay in 25-30 different hotels and B&Bs a year. This was the most pleasant and comfortable stay I have enjoyed for as long as I can remember.
Review 9:No complaints :)
Review 10:Thanks you so much for having us! We'll be back! I really loved everything about this place. The family lives on site and is amazing. I felt like they took care of every want / need we had. Great recommendations, maps, arranged trips, anything we asked. Even though we had a car they still drove and picked us up from a boat tour of Capri, 8am drop off 6:30pm pick up. Location with or without a car is perfect to me (often family will drop you off in the am and buses are easy all day). Free street parking. Quiet beautiful area between all the popular cities. Room is spacious, balcony to watch the sea, screen door for the bugs, great water pressure, memory foam type bed, wifi, fridge etc. Breakfast as others have said is amazing, there is something for everyone or far too much for one person, omlet made to order and or fresh vegetables made to order, fresh fruit, cured meet, cheese, hand made capicino, juice, yogurt, toast, cookies etc. honestly I felt like we were related to them. That's how well they looked after us and treated us. Did I mention our flight was delayed. we arrived at 12:45 in the morning! The dad and son got up welcomed us brought our luggage up and smiled anyway. Sooooo sweet. Father speaks some English, son speaks English fluently. No need for mom to speak English you'll understand she's happy you are there :) Enjoy!
Review 11:Nothing.
Review 12:This charming B&B was our favorite stay during our amalfi coast trip. The owners were so helpful. Without asking for it they immediately gave us lots of information about beaches, transports, activities etc. They also offered us help with transportation if needed. Once we walked from the beach in the afternoon and the owner passed is on his Vespa and picked us up! Just an example of their kindness. Our room was so nice and the cleanliness was outstanding. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The breakfast was without doubt the best we had in the trip. Lots of fruits, pastries, they made delicious omelette for us in demand and delicious cappuccino. We would recommend Il pavone to everyone. And we'll definitely return!
Review 13:Amazing view on the sea Great location on the Amalfi coast, and good restaurants within walking distance Very friendly and helpful hosts Best breakfast ever
Review 14:The view across the bay is amazing from the terrace, the breakfast is the best you will find in Italy and Vito, Carmella and Salvadore could not be more helpful. A car is essential if you want to explore the beautiful coastline. Equally you could just spend every day on the private beach which for 20 euros for the day for two people with sunbeds and umbrella including shuttle to and from the B&B represents amazing value for money and no car required. All in all a great place to stay.
Review 15:We have stayed in numerous B & Bs and this would be the best by a long way. Superb breakfast and well appointed spotless rooms. Service second to none, whether it was pick ups, drop offs or travel advice.
Review 16:Il Pavone will definitely remain in the top of the acommodations we have stayed at. The hospitality and kindness of the family are simply overwhelming. The location is amazing: a couple of minutes from Amalfi and just 20 min from Positano The balcony/terrace view in the morning are just breathtaking. And so was breakfast!!! Oh may God, you just can't imagine how much food you are being served! You just don't know what to try first. We very much liked how Salvatore's father prepared the delicious capuccino, not to mention the yummy orange juice and the strong flavoured coffee. The room was very clean and equiped with all the amenities just like a very posh hotel. We were driven every morning by Salvatore to Amalfi from where we had great connections for buses/boats going to different other cities. He was very helpful! We can't thank him and his family enough for their generosity. For us was a great experience and we definitely recomand the place!
Review 17:The accommodation is at the hill and not so close to the main road that you will use while going to Positano, Amalfi etc. Of course, you can use the steps. However, Salvatore and Vito are ready to drive you to close areas and to the main road.
Review 18:This is a lovely B&B accommodation running by a lovely Italian family. Il Pavone is not 5 star hotel, it's just got a few rooms but the rooms have nearly all the amenities that you could have in a 5 star hotel. The balcony overlooking to Salerno Bay and the wonderful breakfast at the terrace are also the plus that should be mentioned. In Il Pavone, you feel like being a guest at a Italian family. They care about everthing you need. They give you all the recomendations you need. Especially Vito, the father, is maybe the most generous, helpful and caring person that we've ever met.
Review 19:nothing :)
Review 20:It was my best experience of B&B accomodation ever!!!!!! I loved everything - location and the breathtaking view, room and amenities, rooftop patio, even private garage! But my BEST memories are of the Italian family who runs the B&B Il Pavone!!!!!! Salvatore is the BEST host and son of his parents. Salvatore was very helpful in all. He even drove me to and from Amalfi, which is a mile or so awaydown the rocks, but I was really scared to drive :) to say nothing of my wish to taste Italian wines in the coasrtal restaurants! Salvatore says it is a part of the service the guests enjoy in the B&B! Oh.......breakfast!!!!!!!!!! I will not tell you what is served, but I leave it to you as a surprise! And I am sure you will fall off your chair!
Review 21:From the very start of our visit, we were welcomed with open arms by the host family and felt very much at home. Throughout our stay, they helped us out with recommendations, information, free lifts to the start of the path of the gods....basically everything we needed. The breakfasts were out of this world, with an amazing view on the terrace. It's located in a quieter town on the amalfi coast, but was a great base to explore from and the local restaurant was also really good. Cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough!
Review 22:Everything was amazing! Tout etait parfait!
Review 23:The location is amazing: a couple of minutes from Amalfi and just 20 min from Positano (drive) All the rooms have a great view! The breakfast is simply amazing! Different pastries (2-3 kinds) every day, omlette, toasts, yogourt, amazing coffee or cappucino, fresh pressed juice as well as the usual cookies and jam. Don't expect such a breakfast anywhere else! The rooms are clean and comfy, each with a balcony The hosts are very helpful and friendly Parking available There is a beach in the little town, with a driver service that picks you up and brings you back to the bnb. There is a very good and inexpensive resto on that beach, with simple yet great local food There is a very nice resto for supper 10 min walk from the bnb, surprisingly inexpensive, even the seafood C'est un excellent endroit!
Review 24:Nothing. Would go back tomorrow.
Review 25:Firstly, you are 4k from Amalfi, bus stop 100m away and a fabo restaurant in walking distance. Everyroom has a balcony that faces the sea. What a view! Most importantly, the owners make Il Pavone something special. We were taken round the room and everything was explained. Breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cheese, orange juice, coffee, omelette, pastries... Advice on where to go, help getting there. Vito dropped us off at Amalfi when the buses were limited. He took us and picked us up for the boat trip when we went to Capri. We spent four wonderful days here of our 2 weeks in Italy, and they were the best!
Review 26:Loved everything about Il Pavone. Family who runs it, is super friendly and they make you feel like home. The breakfast is unbelievable. Nothing like we expected. Surroundings are quiet and nearby is a really good restaurant. Definitely worth going back!
Review 27:That we couldn't stay longer!
Review 28:Conca dei marini is just out of Amalfi town, 10-15 mins by car or bus so was lovely and peaceful for us. One of the highest recommended restaurants on the coast for locals and tourists alike, Le Bonta del Capo, is walking distance or a free shuttle (we ate there for most of our stay) The B&B has only 4 rooms. Ours had an stunning view of the Medditerean sea. The amazing hosts salvatore, Vito and carmila made our stay so welcoming and easy with lots of tourist advice and tips. Their breakfast was a great feast of fresh hot and cold food that set us up for the day. They will even collect you from amalfi if you get stuck for transport! We would highly recommend and stay again!
Review 29:It was a wonderful experience for me when I stayed at B&B || Pavone in Amalfi coast for five days. The room is very clean comfortable, and I love that balcony, everyday morning I watched the blue sea water and blue sky at the balcony, and every evening I enjoyed the cool wind there too, so nice. I also love the homemade breakfast every day, and they made me feel that I was just at my home in Italy, and they were like my family, very warm hearted, friendly, caring and helpful. Moreover, everyday the young guy Salvatore drove me by the scooter to the Amalfi town, haha I really love to drive the scooter on the way and watch the most beautiful coast view, I can not forget it forever. I hope I could go back B&B || Pavone again next year.
Review 30:Vito, Carmela and their son Salvatore really understand the word hospitality. They are the loveliest and friendliest family and treat you very warmly. They make a fantastic breakfast with even greater capuccino, give you excellent recommendations for restaurants (one of the best ones of the Amalfi coast is within walking distance) and beaches and even take you by car/scooter if you want. There is a shuttle service to a private beach with geat views and services. You can park your car right in front of Il Pavone, which is very convenient. Our room had a balcony with a great sea view, but the view from the breakfast terrace is even better. Would absolutely recommend this place to everyone!!
Review 31:We got a very warm welcome when we arrived. The owners were always prepared to give us advice for our trips. They even drove us to several places. The b&b is located outside of the very touristic places but there is a busstop nearby with a good connection to Amalfi. Each day, we could enjoy a vast and diverse breakfast. They even let us take several pieces for our lunch. The room was always clean and the view is absolutely stunning!
Review 32:The family who run this B&B are unbelievably generous, friendly, helpful, and generally lovely to be around. They go above and beyond to make your stay at their inn and your time in the area fun, easy, and beautiful. Thanks!
Review 33:Parking on the street (our bumper got a little scuffed, but otherwise fine).
Review 34:The breakfast was excellent. Upon our arrival they surrounded us, made us comfortable on the balcony and brought snacks, caffe, and limoncello. No problems with the wifi. When we tried to watch the World Cup but the satellite channel was not available they knocked on the door with the game playing on their laptop. It's fun but not fun to drive along the coast, but they drove us to Amalfi and to and from the beach without any inconvenience. The room was clean, the water pressure was great, the view from the balcony was beautiful.
Review 35:Outstanding hospitality. The staff did everything possible (with great success) to make our 3 night stay very special. I ordered a bouquet of flowers in our room prior to our arrival...and there it was perfectly placed, with complimentary champagne upon our arrival. Breakfast was perfect. Our room was good sized, with breath-taking sea views and spotlessly clean daily. Whenever we needed to go to town, the staff took us (and picked us up), free of charge, in a compact Merc. Highly recommended for the 40+ year old visitor. This is a boutique hotel (4 double rooms), 10 minutes drive from Amalfi town centre. Do not expect a Monte Carlo - Hotel de Paris
Review 36:Everything was to a high standard couldn't fault it.
Review 37:all was good
Review 38:the hospitability. They tried to make the best. Very good breakfast
Review 39:A bit noisy road under the balcony
Review 40:Great breakfast Very friendly staff Sea view balcony
Review 41:We didn't stay long enough , next time we will stay longer.
Review 42:It was like staying with friends, absolutely wonderful.
Review 43:everything the family where so kind everything was perfect we are going back next year
Review 44:Perfect
Review 45:Few road noise (have to keep window closed). Neighbour rooms noise.
Review 46:Superb hosts. Marvellous view. Great location to visit the coast
Review 47:Good location, nice room. The owners are very warm and friendly, fantastic breakfast and great view.
Review 48:Great view, lovely hosts. The breakfast was delicious.
Review 49:Nothing! Go to this hotel, it is the best!
Review 50:Everything! Location is great, 5 mins from Amalfi, a little longer for Ravello, or Majori and just an hour from Pompei and Naples. Great room, comfy bed, 500 tv channels in all languages, great wifi and great AC, good pressure shower, has a safe. most heavenly: the Balcony!!! The view of the Mediterranean is incredible. Breakfast on the terrace with those same views, and the breakfasts copious and delicious: fruits yoghourts eggs cereals pastries and more! Salvatore is great, told us about a restaurant 250m away (at which we ate every night because the food/views there were great) and explained everything there is to see about the region, was very helpful with everything. We were sorry we didnt stay longer.
Review 51:The shower was very small and difficult to move in, but it was clean and did the trick. Transportation is a little bit of a problem, with crowded and hot buses being needed unless you rent a car, which entalls problems with parking and the Amalfi Coast is not to be attempted by the faint of heart! All in all there is not a lot to complain about, and a lot to rave over.
Review 52:Salvatore, Vito and Carmello made you feel very much like you were visting in their home. They all were excellent hosts, friendly, helpful and informative. Breakfasts were beautiful, including home grown vegetables, and home made breakfast cake. The view of the Sea was remarkable.
Review 53:Actually, we cannot think about anything regarding this B&B that is not OK.
Review 54:We had a great stay at B&B Il Pavone. Salvatore, Vito and Carmela provide you with the hospitality that you can only be dreaming of. This is the perfect example how a B&B should be for all B&B's around the world. The breakfast is great, the stunning view over the sea from your breakfast table even better. And if you wish to make excursions, Salvatore and Vito might be able to help you by contacting local people to book proper excursions. You will then be picked up for your excursion, so you do not need to bother driving the small roads of the Amalfi coast with limited parking availability. The location is fine as well, as you could take public transport to get to Amalfi or Positano if you would not have a car available on the spot. However, despite the proximity to the sea, getting to the beach might take you at least a 20 minutes walk down the hill (which was not a problem for us, but might be a problem for others). This is not different from other accommodations in the area, however.
Review 55:The view is fantastic, but the drive to the B+B is challenging. Take Salvatore up on his offer to drive you to nearby towns because parking can be very difficult at them.
Review 56:Wonderful family-run B+B, and Salvatore kindly drove us to nearby places. Very welcoming and warm ambiance.
Review 57:The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, both my husband and I had back aches. There is a lot of street noise even at night and early in the morning. The street is right below the balcony so there is noise and no privacy. Also there is a business right below next door that has trucks coming and going all the time.
Review 58:The owners are awesome, views and breakfast were great.
Review 59:Best experience EVER! Amazing hospitality, treated like royalty. The location is stunning and the room was amazing. The place is run by Salvatore who communicated everything in advance to make arrival easy and then went out of his way our entire stay to ensure we had a great experience. Great tips and suggestions to make the most of the Amalfi Coast. The breakfast was also extraordinary. We are definitely looking to go back!
Review 60:Vito, Carmella, and the whole family were so warm, welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was phenomenal - delicious fruits, fresh omelet and mozzarella, special sweets and wonderful cappuccini! The family went out of their way to ensure that my friend and I had an enjoyable stay: they recommended restaurants and sites, helped us park our car on the narrow roads, gave us directions and were available 24/7 for advice or assistance. The location is also incredible: overlooking the Bay of Naples, with views of Amalfi clinging to the cliffs like a magical town in a fairy tale. I only wish we could have stayed longer, and will definitely be returning!
Review 61:Although i already knew from the good reviews, it was over our expectations!! heavenly - everything! Vito, Carmela and Salvatore were so friendly and looking forward to help us with our staying! the location is kind of far from the crowds, which makes it a peaceful, heavenly place, not so easy to get, but once u get there u feel that u never want to leave! also, they always offered to drive us into town or wherever we need it- extremly kind! They spoilt us with a delicious complet breakfast- fresh orange juice, fruits, fresh youghrts, delicious cappucino, the table was soooo full- the best breakfast we ever had! The view from the third floor terace was absolutely stunning, also the view from our room balcony! The room was perfectly clean and so comfortable! I felt like a queen staying there, it was so hard to leave those beautiful places, those warm and so friendly people!
Review 62:We loved this B&B! the hosts, Vito and Salvatore, were fantastic and presented us each morning with a fabulous sumptuous breakfast. Here I had the best omelette in a long time. This B&B is absolutely stunning. our room had a little balcony with a view of the sea! Wow, what a sight to wake up to! Breakfast is enjoyed on the third floor terrace with a even better view. Salvatore very kindly drove us to Amalfi town and gave us great ideas as to what we can expect and do. We regret not having spent more time here instead of going to Naples! Conca De Marini is just great.
Review 63:If you are driving, be aware that it is a bit difficult to get there, yet worth making the effort.
Review 64:The owners, who personally run the B&B (Carmela, Vito and Salvatore) treated us like new family members. They were always extremely friendly, open, warm and looking forward to helping us with whatever we needed. The room was perfectly clean and comfortable, with a fantastic view over the Amalfi coastline. The breakfast was really complete and unique, with nothing to envy to any high-end hotel. There are also a few great restaurants nearby, where you can have superb home made typical dishes at good prices.
Review 65:Would there be such category - I would give Il Pavone "5 star B&B" - for service, rooms, breakfast (perfect breakfast!), location, nice view and hospitality. Thanks to Vito, Carmella and Salvatore - we felt like staying at a family, not just in a hotel. They helped to solve any issue - from choice of a restaurant and advice about place of interest to visit - to getting back from a beach and even polishing scratch on the car. Comparing with overloaded Amalfi and Positano - Conca is a very nice choice. Quite, with 2 nice beaches (we recommend "Solarium"), and only 10 min. by car from Amalfi. By the way, one more advantage of Il Pavone - own garage - (very important taking into account narrow streets). To conclude - we had great time in Il Pavone. Once we'll visit it again!
Review 66:The place is perfect. The room cleanness, design and quality is a 5 stars quality. The breakfast is very delicious with coffee/cappuccino prepared by Vito and omelettes prepared by Carmela, fresh fruits from the garden, in addition to chess, ham, yogurt...etc. The hosting family (Carmela, Vito and Salvatore) will treat you as if you there own family. They will pick you up from where ever you are if you are late and cannot find a bus back; they bring you to where ever you want. They are the best. If you would like to do a lot of day trips, having a car or a scooter might be an advantage, as it is a UNESCO heritage region and they are not allowed to expand their infrastructure (trains..etc) in the region. Though we managed to do everything without a car; Salvatore and Vito brought us everywhere we wanted to go and then we used buses and boats to get everywhere.
Review 67:Words cannot do sufficient justice to the kindness shown to us bu Carmela, Vito, and Salvatore. Great pains are taken to give guests an impeccable stay- gorgeous linens and fixtures, a breakfast like I have never had at a B&B (fresh squeezed juice and omelettes), and a million dollar view. Garage parking, help shuttling you and your family to the beach and fantastic dinner suggestions.
Review 68:Simply, the entire Pavone family - Vito, Carmela and son Salvatore. Theyhave taken hospitality and warmth to new levels and made our 2 nightstay such a lovely experience. The breakfasts are phenomenal. Thoughthere were some steps to go up to the rooms, even my 74-year old motherdid not have any problems with that!
Review 69:Conca dei Marini is very small with limited restaurants.
Review 70:Savotore, Vito, and Carmelo are wonderful hosts. They are such a lovelyfamily and just take you in as a part of the family. It located 4 kmfrom Amalfi and Savotore will give you a lift there or anywhere you wantto go. They are extremely accommodating to their guest and theirbreakfast is the best of my entire 17 day trip in Italy.
Review 71:Having to leave
Review 72:The family was extremely attentive and friendly. They made us feel as if we were their relatives who had come to visit them. The whole time they made us feel like family. The room was really comfortable. Beautiful view.
Review 73:Pillows were not very comfy -- although only a small inconvenience and in no way detracts from the overall positive experience of the visit.
Review 74:Attention --- only stay at Il Pavone if you want to be treated like a princess! :). This B&B was a welcome escape from the madness in some of the Amalfi Coast towns (Amalfi and Positano). Superb view from the little balcony off our room and the view from the breakfast area was stunning. The hosts, Salvatore and Vitto were helpful and attentive. The breakfast was one of the best we had in our 2 weeks stay in Italy. Freshly squeezed juice, hot delicious coffee, nice rolls, and an omelette (plus more choices). Awesome. The icing on the cake was a little lemoncello while enjoying the company and view. Top shelf customer service. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Review 75:it was kind of a surprise that the location of the B&B was 300 m. high , in other words ; not close to the sea but for that reason we had wonderfull 180-degree vieuws including sunrise and sunset !!
Review 76:i liked ; the happy coloured bed sheets&covers , the room "with a vieuw" (which all 3 rooms have) , the breakfast on the terras , the hospitallity of our hosts
Review 77:We liked everything about the B&B and it was perfect for us. Would say, however, that you need a car, as Conca dei Marini (upper), although lovely, is a bit out of the way if you're looking to be in a hub; e.g., the center of Positano.
Review 78:Great room (Blue Room): spacious, well-appointed, lovely balcony overlooking the sea, very nice furniture, lighting fixtures, etc., large, comfortable bed with good linens, spacious bathroom with modern shower and plush towels. Wonderful breakfast on large balcony overlooking the sea. The best part was the host family - they were welcoming and attuned to every need. Free parking on the street always available during our 4-night stay. Enjoyed the location high above the water,on the surrounding hills, and with a car, easy access to the various towns and the ruins of Paestum.
Review 79:Little tricky getting back to B&B after 9pm
Review 80:5 star treatment
Review 81:Everything was perfect. The owners really know to make you feel right.
Review 82:The staff was super friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was HUGE!
The Fine Print
