Reviews for Hampton's Hotel Namur
Review 1:We had the plan to rent bikes but the staff said the service was unavailable.
Review 2:The hotel is very comfortable, there's a supermarket right next to it and the bus stop is not far.
Review 3:Toilet bowl was filthy - dried urine under seat and splashes on inside edge. Complained to reception. Ingrained dirt on skirting board under bench unit. Have stayed there previously and had no complaints albeit that the hotel is a bit jaded and needs refurbished. Cleaning standards have clearly dropped. Breakfast is expensive and not value for money.
Review 4:Great location, next to the river/canal, miles of cycle/footpath to walk on. Have stayed there many times before but probably will not do again!
Review 5:The WIFI did not work in my room at all. I tried on two devices and could not connect. It is very dark in this hotel - the hallways are dimly lighted and even the swimming pool does not have overhead lights - just the lights from in the pool itself. The pool is not heated so it takes time to get to get acclimated to the water. There is no water-can in the sauna for adding water to the coals and no towels available in the pool area.
Review 6:I liked being able to take a dip in the pool and relax in the sauna after a long day.
Review 7:Dirty bathroom and bedroom, I found hairs all over the place. Outdated facilities, needs refurbishment. No seating - relaxing area around the swimming pool and the sauna. General feeling of discomfort. It is a cold and unwelcoming place.
Review 8:Nice location directly on the river Meuse
Review 9:This hotel is ideal for an overnight stop when travelling from England to Germany. We have stayed at this hotel most years since 1994, first as a Novotel, then as Hotel Leonardo and now with the current owners as Hampton’s Hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean with tea and coffee making facilities and free wifi. Bathrooms have both bath and shower. Many rooms overlook the River Meuse. Car parking is good. The hotel is next to a large Carrefour supermarket and Lunch Garden restaurant. We have found that the route to the hotel is easiest when approached from the exit at Loyers on the E411 motorway. Cancellation conditions are better when booking through Booking.Com rather than directly with the hotel.
Review 10:Very dark in our room as no ceiling lights, only a big lamp in the corner which did not work and 2 small bedside lamps. We were given a ground floor room, with a broken chain on the patio door leading to the outside, which backed onto a public tow-path / river; so we could not have any fresh air in our room overnight. Also, 2 rather frightening looking men tried our patio door the following morning and our curtain was slightly ajar and we were just getting dressed to go to breakfast. This was quite a scary situation - luckily the door was locked but we have no idea who these men were...
Review 11:Very good value for money and hotel has plenty of parking, an indoor and outdoor pool and good breakfast.
Review 12:Bathroom was a little old. No shampoo, just a container with liquid soap. Moreover, breakfast should be included in the room rate.
Review 13:Overall, good value for money, even though breakfast was not included.
Review 14:The room I was given at 19:00hrs was just as the previous occupant had left it so I had to be given another room. The pool I had hoped to swim in was only for health-exercising types. There was no restaurant meaning a long search for one in the village, and the 'bar' was a joke.
Review 15:room was old, fixtures ancient, 2 black walls making it very dark. bad insulation between rooms, could hear another couple enjoying themselves loudly during the night.
Review 16:traveling with a dog, nice to have a door to the outside from the room.
Review 17:The indoor pool, which was a significant reason for booking, was most of the time in use for organised classes and completely unavailable to paying hotel guests
Review 18:Good sized rooms, nice views onto canal at the rear
Review 19:Hotel looks dated and impersonal. No restaurant for evening meal? Breakfast was poor value for money complete with fry your own eggs! Rooms large but tired..need refurbishing
Review 20:Location is nice although far from the motorway.Wi fi worked well. Rooms are large with bath and beds comfortable. Namur is a nice city but I would stay somewhere else...another hotel.
Review 21:The hotel is much too expensive for what it offers. The room wasn't clean (!), there was no hot water and the cleaning staff came even though I was only staying for one night?!?!
Review 22:The hotel looks good on the outside. The bed was quite comfortable and the rooms were nicely isolated.
Review 23:there was suppose to be wifi over the whole place, but there's none. there was no shampoo or douche gel no frigo welness is very expensive no elevator because my friend has an bad knee en there were a lot of stairs
Review 24:the terras was amazing
Review 25:Room (lower part of the bed and pillows smells to other people) was not clean. Shower tube and switch were broken. No toilet brush. Carpet of complete hotel and rooms was very old and had stains. Quite old furniture in the room and some common areas.
Review 26:Size of the room was quite big. Room had an exit to the garden (you can choose when make the reservation). Pets friendly.
Review 27:Location on river, retro-ish décor, health facilities- especially the pool. Relaxed atmosphere enjoyed by all age groups. Unpretentious, just welcoming and comfortable with easy access to nature.
Review 28:Advertised as having a restauraunt and bar, and neither open even though two coaches with passengers were in plus many other users. No explanation as to why both were shut..not good!!!!
Review 29:Nice location
Review 30:While all of the photos shown are true to what you'll find on site, this hotel is not a three star establishment. What appears to be cleanat first glance, doesn't hold up on closer inspection. The wallcoverings in hallways seem to be water stained/moldy, the plateglass windows were covered in cobwebs and their frames weredisintegrating. No A/c or fans in rooms. Inadequate number of powerpoints in rooms. The concrete decking around the pool and on balconiesis beginning to fail. The pool itself has seen better days. The formerbar and restaurant areas were unkempt and visibly quite dirty. The gasstation style toilet paper/soap dispensers were very ugly, disappointing and really brought down the already low standard offinish in the rooms The worst thing, in my opinion, was asking for myroom not to be disturbed, only to find that it had indeed been made upin my absence.
Review 31:The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. A good selection ofcold drinks were available at the front desk, breakfast was adequate butnothing special (some seasonal, local strawberries would have been verywelcome). Beautiful river walk at rear of property, ample free parking.
Review 32:Woke up with backache as the bed was quite uncomfortable, although the back loosened up after a swim in the pool. Balcony in room was Juliet, e.g. not a full balcony, although you could step onto it.
Review 33:Indoor and outdoor pool, right on the lake front. Reasonable breakfast and plenty of parking. Very good value drinks and snacks could be purchased from reception to take out to the outdoor pool area. Would definitely return to this hotel.
Review 34:3 things: 1. STRANGER in room - the front desk keyed our room (2nd night of 3) to a complete stranger - who walked into our room at 10:00pm (22:00). Everyone was extremely embarrassed. Leaving me to discover that my response to an unexpected stranger in my room is to scream. Which also brought no one. the hotel also didn't think it would be to their benefit to offer us any type of discount for the experience. This is the ONLY time this has ever happened to me. 2. Our sink pipes actually broke and water ended up on the floor. The staff did take care of that right away. 3. SOAP- My kids room needed to have the soap in the shower refilled and they needed to call for that. I was disappointed that the cleaning staff didn't check this and do it without being asked, indicates to me that they don't actually pay attention during the cleaning process. 4. TOWELS - no towels at the pool, so take your own.
Review 35:The heated indoor / outdoor pool; breakfast was excellent; location along the river. The pool was open for the kids to use. The rooms all had a pull out sofa and double bed. We opened out to the garden / kids play area. The kids play area would not have been ideal if we had younger kids as it was in poor repair.
Review 36:Maybe the front desk could haveover a little quicker, but honestly this was a drop in an otherwise thoroughly pleasant and we'll priced ocean, would revisit without hesitation.
Review 37:The place was just decent, nice to look at nice to be in, well appointed, and the free rental bikes... genius... I'd have put the comfort of the bed higher but the day I'd had by the time I got there any bed woulda been blissful, so the chance it could have been better still stands. But in my experience it was awesome. The rooms didn't even cost that much and yet were roomy, cool, and easy to find. I'm it sure what else I could have asked for from the place. We don't have the breakfast, but as there is an excellent carefour supermarket just round the corner we were well fed by the time we checked out.
Review 38:Not worth the money. Poor television set/cable reception. No refrigerator in room. Faulty taps in bathroom. Wifi dysfunctional. Plenty more issues...
Review 39:None
Review 40:We didn't have any unpleasant experiences
Review 41:Lovely large room overlooking the river, staff were lovely all in all it was a really nice stay, I would certainly stay there again
Review 42:The distance to my room. poor Quality telvision . High price for breakfast. As we where on bikes their is no sign on the bike/walking path for Hamptons with which we mist the hotel & had an etra 2 km to do to find it.
Review 43:Good Staff. indoor pool. Very Clean
Review 44:A bit dated outlook. No toilet brush. Shower not properly fixed. Laak of a flatscreen tv.
Review 45:Quiet,clean,breakfast,sauna,friendly staff,ping-pong,biljart
Review 46:Hotel was not very wheel chair accessible. Room on first floor was a very long way from the entrance. Breakfast on 2nd floor with no elevator publicly available. Shower and toilet lacked bars to aid with handicap use. Hotel was not at all full and the rate was expensive. Beds were hard.
Review 47:Staff was friendly. Hotel located within walking distance of some shopping and services. Sauna was nice.
Review 48:It is not very modern, the TV is still CRT, but these are minor issues IMHO.
Review 49:The staff are VERY friendly and kind. I could not find restaurants in the late night and they offer to order a pizza for us (I don't speak french). Besides, the rooms are very large. The bed is very comfortable.
Review 50:There is no restaurant in the hotel, or perhaps it is open only during high season.
Review 51:Quiet hotel, excellent view on the river, nice restaurants nearby. Very good breakfast, accessibility, easy-going nice staff.
Review 52:Friendly cvheck-in personnel, nice large corridors (!) and rooms, there is a beautilful footpath along the river which you could walk until you get to Namur town centre Good quality bistro in walking distance towards Namur (abt 1.7 km). Carrefour hypermarket just around the corner
Review 53:When we have been there before we could get bbc1, but this time we couldn't. Might have just been the tv set
Review 54:We could walk right dosn to the river from thevfrench doors in our room. everything was good about the room.
Review 55:Warm water did not working in my room, had to shower in my friends room.
Review 56:All was very good. Recommend to stay at this hotel if you are in Namur. They have an indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool (was closed when Iwas there in early November).
Review 57:City tax collected yet the local authority has allowed the publicly owned grassed areas adjacent to the hotel/Carrefour supermarket to deteriorate.
Review 58:We have enjoyed staying at this hotel from the time that it was a Novotel, owned by the Accor group. It is an ideal location to break a journey to Germany. The latest owners provided us with a perfect stay.
Review 59:Nothing.
Review 60:Ideal as a tour from location or as we used it as a stop off whilst on route elsewhere. Easily found, good car parking, friendly staff, hearty breakfast. Restaurants, takeways and supermarket all nearby.Adjacent to river with pleasant views.
Review 61:No problems found.
Review 62:A first class hotel, well run with very friendly reception staff whospoke good English. The hotel facilities were excellent and for theextra charge the breakfast was well worth every euro. Apartment sizerooms with full amenities and super size bed and very cleanshower/bath room.Swimming Pool and Sauna an added bonus a mostenjoyable 5 night stay.
Review 63:No one to help with luggage, no elevator, floor has rug (may be I notice this because I was tired from a red eye flight) No on site restauration/room service. Rooms could use a makeover very old furniture, tv, tapestry, everything is quite old
Review 64:Receptionist were welcoming, professional, and helpful Nice restaurants nearby Good hotel for the price!!
Review 65:peace and quiet, river location, close to shops and restaurants. clean and tidy, use of pool. we will definitely be back again, already planning next year for the brocante at temploux.
Review 66:Noisy air conditioning Wi Fi signal very poor in our room TV needs updating to flat screen Parking limited and always full
Review 67:Location comfort of beds sofa in room tea making facilities swimming pool and sauna river view close to super market and lunch garden
Review 68:The maintanance of the place is seriously lacking. At first we were given a room that was not done. The room we received after had red water coming out from the tap and must have been used months before. The hairdryer was broken and outside the window you could see how no one cut the grass in a long time!
Review 69:The place is big and the room are relatively big. There is free parking and the price is more than fair for the dimension of the room.
Review 70:hotel was filthy you have to pay in advance language skills of the receptionist was poor (student) stay was too expensive hotel personnel was not friendly air conditioner was loud door key of the room did not function properly
Review 71:breakfast was good, but too expensive
Review 72:No evening restaurant. Air con not working in bedroom. Delapidated fan. All seemed hand to mouth. Long queue at reception. Minimal staff.
Review 73:Position. Low cost. OK for cheap one night stay.
Review 74:The TV was extremely small and obsolete. There was no minibar.
Review 75:Even if it's far from Namur, a straight 6 km walk along La Meuse, we really enjoyed this walk, since the scenery is truly beautiful. If it's far from Namur, it's closer to Dinant. We played ping pong several times and had the feeling of not disturbing anybody with the ball noise. It was clean and quite and the parking was included. Breakfast was good too.
Review 76:Rooms look very tired, linen needs replacing. No lift, although this was not a problem to me, it certainly was to less able guests with no staff to assist with luggage. Restaurant closed, in the evening bar closed by 21.00 on a Saturday, didn't see it open on Sunday evening. Had to go else where !!
Review 77:Quiet location, swimming pool o/k
