Reviews for Residence In Centro

Review 1:The residence was beatutiful, very historic and made me feel like I was truley experiencing the city. The facilities in the were also good, modern despite the historic building.

Review 2:Horrible wifi! The kitchen was very well equipped, but it would be nice to have a kettle.

Review 3:Spacious and comfortable room; warm and cosy in winter; excellent location

Review 4:Should have something to clean dishes with

Review 5:Stayed here with my boyfriend one night. Excellent place and really spacious flat. Walking distance to the city centre. Nice staff and clean room. No traffic or noise from outside. Would stay here again.

Review 6:Initial room I was showed was almost dungeon like...... huge room but with barely any daylight!

Review 7:After a room change, I was given a nice room with plenty of daylight.

Review 8:Very professional staff, good spacious studio with very good airco (it was 40 degrees C.) and a very good bed. Great location and safe parking. Excellent place to stay if you want to see Mantova (and you should).

Review 9:No cutlery except for knife and fork for two. No wine glasses or corkscrew! Only one comfy seat only hard chair and four metal fold up chairs. Bedroom area v hot air con only helped on ground floor did not reach loft area. Had to use a saucepan to boil water, no kettle!

Review 10:Location, quiet, good parking, v clean, good bed, good staff, value for money.

Review 11:Comfort of chairs in the room could be better. Also there could have been more of them considering the size of the room.

Review 12:Quiet area to escape to. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:Fine wood panelled room; comfortable bed; nice bathroom with bath; good cheap breakfast; helpful staff; good secure parking; 5 minutes walk to centre; value for money

Review 15:The bathroom was cramped and in need of an upgrade. We had to ask for the shower curtain to be replaced as it was mouldy. Self-catering was possible for cold meals but the kitchen area was confined and poorly equipped if hot food was required. The sofa-bed was uncomfortable to sit on and I was glad we did not have to sleep on it.The potential of this establishment is being wasted. It needs money spent on it.

Review 16:The location was within easy walking distance of the centre of Mantova and although the rooms were full at the weekend, there was no noise. Parking in the enclosed, attractive yard was very convenient. The flat was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The table and chairs were good.

Review 17:See above. The

Review 18:Location good, everything within easy reach. Kitchen facilities basic though, two hotplates and microwave but no oven. No washing or drying facilities. At €100 per night it's rather over-priced.

Review 19:Honestly nothing I didn't like about the place; thought it modestly priced for the overall experience. Gets my vote for anyone heading to Mantova.

Review 20:Location was just a few minutes walk from train station, abutting a public park. facility has apparently been in a family for many generations and goes back about 500 years [formerly a convent, but thoroughly modernized - every unit has a compact kitchenette and air conditioner]. The two story quarters are arrayed around a generous courtyard that includes limited off street parking and a garage! Bikes are available for a minimal fee, and Mantova is an ideal city to bike, though most features can be walked to within 20 minutes. Staff was friendly and unequivocally helpful. A very short walk to central bus terminus, good bookstore, and superb catch-all grocery store - Residence in Centro describes it exactly!

Review 21:The heating could have been better.

Review 22:The location was great! The staff was very helpful.

Review 23:Stilte in centrum stad

Review 24:Location, spacious and comfortable rooms

Review 25:Feels like in a monastery

Review 26:Old furniture Sunday's reception time.

Review 27:Central Location Large and clean flat Friendly staff

Review 28:We were welcomed Parking secure Excellent location

Review 29:arredamento sufficiente

Review 30:la posizione

Review 31:The shower arrangement was awkward.

Review 32:Well located, and a remarkably huge room with an inlaid wood floor and ceiling.

Review 33:Great location, spacious and comfortable. Mantova is a great city to see and explore.

Review 34:Moldy shower curtains

Review 35:Locational was perfect, great arched room

Review 36:The property advertise that all rooms have air conditioning. However, when we arrived in the middle of May, with a hot weather outside, we were told that this property turns on the air conditioning only in June. This is a case of misrepresentation of the facilities of this property. In addition to that , the property advised its guests not to open the windows because of mosquitos. As a result, it was two very uncomfortable nights.

Review 37:It is a nice property. Very close to the center of the town.

Review 38:There weren't enogh warm water at the shower.

Review 39:The house is lovely, such a neet and old and romantic place! The staff were nice and ready to help. The place is close to everything!

Review 40:The windows should have mosquito screens, as we were asked not to leave the windows open at night, but it gets quite hot in Mantua. So that would be a nice add on. The kitchen is quite dated, but functional.

Review 41:It was very quiet and private- lovely garden and close to all important sites. The two rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable.

Review 42:Although it was a studio with a small kitchen with plates, pots and pans, there were no utensils- not even a knife to cut fruit or a fork to eat with. Also, it was a loft style with sleeping upstairs which was not mentioned and the bed was positioned in the peak of the roof so you had to duck your head to avoid hitting it on a steel beam....we successfully avoided the beam and navigated the stairs at night when we had to use the toilet, but for some less agile people it would have been a problem. The positives outweighed the negatives!

Review 43:The private parking in the locked courtyard was ideal because we had skis on top of the car and luggage inside. The location was very convenient, it was quiet and comfortable and the price was very good. The receptionist was very efficient and cordial.

Review 44:Lack of propoer direction and map of getting back to the hotel, lack of English information for foreign tourists.

Review 45:Enjoyed staying in an old building refurbished to be a hotel in Mantova, experienced and appreciate the Italian culture and old buildings.

Review 46:- we occupied two rooms, none of them had anything in common with the charm reflected in the pictures on this page - no late check-in - on Sundays you have to arrive before 12.30

Review 47:close to city center quite nights helpful ladies at the reception

Review 48:Moldy shower curtain that should be replaced in bathroom. Television had no cable or satellite to get non Italian channels. Price a bit expensive for the size and amenities.

Review 49:Close proximity to city center.

Review 50:-sometimes I could hear the neighbours' room tv -an electric tea kettle would have been nice

Review 51:-very clean -a lot of space in my studio -nice historical building -very good location (city center, train station, palazzo te all in walking distance) -very quite (quite streets, green yard) -friendly, helpful personnel

Review 52:This place is beautiful. The room was clean and well appointed. The location was close to the center of Mantova, but it was quiet. I wish I had planned to stay more than just one night.

Review 53:Never book it if you plan to arrive on Sunday - makes you nervous that you can miss the 12-30 pm deadline with check-in - even if you prepaid a month and a half before. No normal maps - just printouts with no specifics (and no English)handed to you at the reception (though the staff is English-speaking). No clear detailed routs at their website about how to get to this Residence.

Review 54:Location is perfect, a quiet place bordering a park (Gardin Valentino) with leafy old trees. A nice inner countryside-type yard. Right in the historical centre. The room was clean, cosy with an upstairs bedroom. A compact kitchenette corner with utensils if you want to cook yourself (Carrefour is 3 min walk).

Review 55:No instructions in English for coffee machine. Large crack in toilet seat.

Review 56:This was the second time we stayed. Helpful staff. Be careful of Sunday check-in - only up to 12.30 pm. Great rooms. Easy walk in to the historic centre.

Review 57:Soundproofing non-existent. Sounded like we were sharing our room with the family next door.

Review 58:Room had a mezzanine floor with bed upstairs. Secure parking on site. Staff quickly replaced broken and missing slats on bed.

Review 59:An amazing place with wonderful floors and ceilings and a very spacious studio. The bathroom was lovely with very nice toiletries. No dining facilities so we bought food and ate at the dining table in our room and had breakfast in the town. This place is unlike anywhere else we've stayed - very special and beautiful.

Review 60:Nothing.

Review 61:An absolutely charming place with a very friendly staff (they speak very good English) and a great combination of ancient building with authentic furniture and a brand new air conditioners, showers, bathroom, etc. Everything just works and the place is perfect. A special thank you for the staff for making me to feel so welcome!

Review 62:I don't think I need to return to Mantova, but others will surely better appreciate its slightly shabby charm.

Review 63:Great room: high ceilings, exposed beams, baroque style, clean. Rather amazing doorlock, strange to say. Travelers with small children will appreciate the neighboring park.

Review 64:I had a self-contained apartment next door to the residencia - a chance to experience how the locals live. Excellent value - why pay three times as much for an imperfect hotel?

Review 65:The cooking facilities are extremely basic - just a microwave and a mini-bar sized fridge. I could not get the WiFi to work but couldn't check the password I'd been given as the office was only open limited hours during which I was out (I tried leaving a note but it didn't get answered).

Review 66:The apartment was large with a separate bathroom with a full sized bath (with shower) and good supllies of hot water. It was tidied/cleaned daily and was generally well furnished. The grounds are attractive and peacegul yet it is only a short walk from the historic centre and around 10 minutes from the station.

Review 67:Liked everything

Review 68:For a hotel in a city, about 10 minutes walk from the centre, it was very quiet, picturesque and a contrast to the busy lifestyle close by.

Review 69:very helpful everything we needed only thing missing and essential was so where to put soap in the shower! Staff were busy but still took time to help me with next accommodation info which was very very much appreciated

Review 70:Spacious clean 2-level number with ceiling beams and antique furniture in old picturesque building at the price of 50 euro - that's fantastic! There was a little kitchen with a fridge and microwave oven in our number - very useful. The location was good - 10 minutes on foot to city center, 15 minutes on foot from the train station. A nice addition to all these merits was complete Independence - you receive your keys of the main gate and you can return to the hotel very late without bothering somebody.

Review 71:The check-in is untill 19:30. We know it's written in the rules but anyway it's not suitable. Everything else is perfect!

Review 72:The location is suitable. Interior seems to be partly real old one and it gives pleasant atmospheare. There's free parking in the yard which is closed for the night. The yard is also pleasant. The administrator was waiting for us even after her working day was off.

Review 73:We had the most exquisitely beautiful room - parquetry floors ( and ceiling!), leadlight doors, birds twittering in the courtyard ... it was a fantasy ... totally extrordinary!

Review 74:Just be aware that this hotel offers rooms from rustic lofts to ornate drawing rooms. Luckily they are priced accordingly.

Review 75:We loved the city location of Residence in Centro. Mantova is a hidden gem and should be on more people's itineraries. The hotel is located in a lovely secluded setting and yet just a few minutes walk to all the interesting buildings and monuments in Mantova.

Review 76:A lovely quiet location in a residential area within minutes of the historic centre as well as other amenities. Accommodation well equipped and spacious.

Review 77:Sparse furniture in our room and no pictures on the walls, dim lightswhich were difficult to read by. Kitchen is crying out forrefurbishment. There is a mini fridge, a mini cooker and a miniextractor hood, although there is plenty of space. There are not enoughpots, pans, lids and utensils to cook a meal, nor is there sufficientworking space, apart from the kitchen table.

Review 78:Central but quiet location, nice old building, carpark for residents, friendly and helpful staff, spacious room

Review 79:They said they can not allow me to check in after 7:30 pm. the location is difficult to find

Review 80:Room nice and clean. Staff really helpful. Great position close to the center.

Review 81:Kitchen equipment a bit poor (had to buy a cooking knife). Much mosquitos.

Review 82:Location excellent and very quiet at the same time.

Review 83:Central but quiet position. Large rooms and good bed.

Review 84:the parking costs 10 EUR per day and if you get a parking space in the garage it is very narrow so you need good nerves

Review 85:We liked everything

Review 86:It would have been nice to have a table and chairs outside in the garden.

Review 87:Very good value for money, close to town but quiet. We loved Mantua.

Review 88:super location, nice staff

Review 89:The setting round a courtyard and the peaceful atmosphere.

Review 90:Original residence of tranquility and style!

Review 91:Dark interior of space.

Review 92:Amenities were wonderful from the oversized room with the comfortable bed to the kitchenette to the lovely bathroom.

Review 93:This a very nice hotel set in a quiet courtyard minutes from the center of Mantova. Our room was incredibly big and well appointed. 10 out of 10!

Review 94:The only problem could be restricted hours of check in.

Review 95:Amazing historical building with large Renaissance studios.Parking inthe property.
