Reviews for Antico Pastificio
Review 1:No tea, coffee or bathroom soap supplied. A small container of milk would be appreciated to make a cuppa after travelling. Sofa bed cushions need a clean.
Review 2:Location, within walking distance to restaurants and a variety of stores.
Review 3:Our family group of 7 with 88yr old and 1 & 4yr old all enjoyed the location so near the centre of Greve and being able to picnic by the pool each day. Ensuite rooms really good.
Review 4:If you are driving, hire a small car, as driveway access is very narrow!
Review 5:Quiet location with easy access to village piazza, shops, restaurants and bus stop. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Well equipped laundry.
Review 6:Liked everything
Review 7:wonderful room very large 2 bedrooms and an outside area as well. Brilliant location and kind staff with complimentary wine grown on the estate.
Review 8:Nothing
Review 9:Monica and her staff were fantastic! Helpful, attentive, and willing to do most things to make our stay with them a great experience. Thursday night pizza night and the Tuscan party night they held for guests were highlights.
Review 10:The location is superb and the staff and services are the best so helpfull and warm. I was here 3 years ago and came back to this place. Lovely garden and love the welcoming bottle of their white wine.
Review 11:Pay attention, some of the apartments are 2 floors. The staircase is quite steep. So one should be cautious if coming with toddlers and order these apartments
Review 12:Perfect place to stay. The staff is excelent. Swimming pool, small playground at the site. Great location. Close to central square of Greve. Greve is one of central points in Tuscany. Supermarket is 200 meters near. Very recommended place to stay!
Review 13:Limited storage/shelving in one bathroom. Lack of bedside table in one room. Not enough coat hangers.
Review 14:Location excellent. Lots of restaurants nearby. Beautiful countryside. Good bus service to Florence. Owner /staff very pleasant and helpful. Plenty of outside seating.
Review 15:Nothing I can think of
Review 16:A beautiful old pasta factory, tastefully restored, just a few steps from the town square with a wonderful garden, a great pool and with plenty of private parking too. A bit tight to get there with a VW bus but we managed. It was the perfect place for us!
Review 17:The bathroom and kitchen are a little old. The little street leading to the place is very difficult to navigate. The windows shades don´t close properly. It was sometimes hard to find someone if you had a question.
Review 18:AP is located in the town of Greve. Greve is not a hilltown so it is a the bottom of the valley so no views. But it is a nice little town with a great butcher, wine shops and nice restaurants. AP is run like a small hotel all very professionally organized. The grounds are nice and calm, the pool is small but functional. The apartments have very high ceilings and are spacious. You can pay by credit card.
Review 19:Nothing not to like
Review 20:Everything to like. Staff wonderful, bed one of the most comfortable I have been in, location perfect, they give a nice bottle of red wine and water on arrival. This place created a wonderful environment, where everybody is happy, and sitting around the pool in the late afternoon/evening you can enjoy a social time with other people. This is one of my favourite places to stay, and Greve is a beautiful town and piazza
Review 21:Greeted by Sandi on arrival and full explanation and helpful advice given before showing us to our suite. Lovely old building but with modern facilities. Private parking in such a central area a real benefit. Festivals were on at the time which effected access, but given clear advice on alternative parking. The gardens are beautiful and the pool inviting, but we did not use as the weather a little cold. Marco constantly tidying up and pleasant to chat to.
Review 22:The place is perfect - it has all you need and more. it's located in the city centre, and yet - in a secluded garden with free convenient parking and a swimming pool. It offers a wide range of entertainment and is superbly decorated in old-fashioned style - we wished we had known this in advance and stayed there longer. Thank you!
Review 23:The only small thing was that we tried to cancel one of our rooms for the final night because some of our party were moving elsewhere and we didn't need it. This wasn't really understood so we paid for the extra night that we didn't really need, but I think we could have done more to explain the situation more clearly - so not a huge problem.
Review 24:Excellent value for money and a lovely rustic apartment set in a roomy villa. The rooms were a good size and it was great to have the pool so close by. Greve is a lovely little town in a gorgeous area.
Review 25:Air conditioning necessary to cope with +35 degree temperatures, 3 piece suite very old needs updating
Review 26:Swimming pool spotlessly clean, property very well maintained, location perfect for strolling out on an evening, visiting Florence
Review 27:Some small touches could really improve the stay - bathroom lacks any hooks for towels, no toilet paper holder (roll sits on the floor), no full length mirror anywhere, sofa extremely dirty (begging for a cleaning), no suitcase stands, no mosquito netting in windows.
Review 28:Hidden away yet right in the heart of town. Quick walk to everything. Nice grounds and pool. Spacious apartment with very comfortable beds. Nice touch to find a bottle of wine and water in fridge at check in.
Review 29:The only down side was that the pool was freezing!
Review 30:Our room was very small but comfortable. Our bro ends had a full kitchenette with lots of space so worth checking what you are getting first. The hotel was lovel and clean and in a great location.
Review 31:This is our second time here and we love it. THe outdoor space is perfect and location is walking distance to the center and centrally located to visit all the sites in Tuscany. The staff is wonderful and the value outstanding.
Review 32:It's right in the heart of Greve and very easy to get to the Enoteca Falorni and the wine museum (although the museum is closed for renovations at the moment)
Review 33:Our room did not have balcony, we had to share with other guests. Had we known beforehand we would have asked for one of the rooms with a balcony.
Review 34:So nice to be able to just walk into town in 2 minutes. Kids enjoyed that too!
Review 35:Very hard to find since we arrived on a Thursday when the big market is on (as well as Saturday) and you can't drive across the square but has to go 9th a one way street that you will get a permit for once find the place. Ask them for directions ahead of time. Three bedrooms but all had king size beds, would have been nice with at least one room with twin beds.
Review 36:Location is fantastic! Atmosphere and cleanliness of the accommodations were fantastic. Loved it as soon as we walked in.
Review 37:Extremely small shower. Living space could use some comfy seats. Lack of private garden or terasse for the apt we stayed in.
Review 38:Location and property. Lovely apt, for the most part (high clielings and big windows).
Review 39:This is our second time staying at Antico and we love this place!! Theindoor ping pong table kept our kids occupied and the pool was also ahit! The grounds are awesome and clean and just a very short walk tothe main center platza of Greve in Chianti where you can findrestaurants, fresh bakery, traditional cheeses and salami and all kidsof little shops! We ended up meeting our friends here this year and weall had a blast!!
Review 40:Only to nit pick -- as really pleased: (1)Wish there had been a Frenchpress coffee maker as there was only the traditional expresso maker inthe apt. Kitchen (2) If you return after 10 P.M., you need a flashlightas the outdoor lights are all turned off and it's dark aroundthere. (3) Stone stairs are also slippery when wet outside or - inside- if your shoes are wet from outside. (4) It's quite a walk betweenapt. Entrance and reception area (Two options:a) out-of-doors aroundswimming pool for ease of stairs, or b) lots of stairs to maneuversuitcase over and more ground to cover but inside) Lots of stairs anyplace on property.
Review 41:Exquisitely maintained property, inside & out. Squeaky clean. Largecommunal rooms with pool or ping pong tables and computer. Apt. Wasspacious, well stocked and quiet. Large bath towels. Water pressure wasgreat, mattress nice & firm and easy/strong wificonnection.Handy free parking (but entrance through archway a bit hairy)Reception staff very pleasant and helpful (super English)L. Bestlocation right off Greve's main square (with supermarket just ashort walk away) but quiet & restful. Would definitely return againand recommend to all.
Review 42:Unbeatable location walking distance to everything, helpful friendly staff, comfortable apartment. I liked that the kitchen had the basics supplied: dish soap, hand soap, sugar, salt/pepper, olive oil, and even a bottle of wine!
Review 43:The apartment is in the very heart of Greve, so all restaurants and shops are within a few minutes walking distance. The balcony & garden with pool are great - just wish we have had warmer weather.
Review 44:I Love this place and thats why We stayed in everytime We go to Chianti. Marco and Monica are amazing people and treat Us like family. This is the 4th time We stayed here and Will always stay here.
Review 45:I stayed at this hotel before and really liked it. Then went back in November and I have to say it was really cold in the room (no heating, just AC turned on warm). Other than that the staff is nice and the location good. Comfort is just OK but it's also cheap.
Review 46:After an unexpected previous bad choice of some where to stay we quickly had to find somewhere else. Bookings.com we found this accommodation and it was just perfect would lived to have stayed longer
Review 47:Great place to centre yourself and see Tuscany- we loved the kitchen even the essentials were left including coffee and olive oil. Pizza night was organized and meet some lovely people.the swimming pool was clean. Great stay we had 6 nights there.
Review 48:The comfort of the rooms. My first room was beside a common room which was loud and noisy but great size and then when they moved me it was to a small room up the top with no air con so it was too hot. It is also unpleasant to finally arrive and there be no staff, you have to fend for yourself
Review 49:The staff were accommodating when I did have problems they did try hard to resolve and ensure my stay was comfortable. The pool and outside was also fantastic
Review 50:nothing.
Review 51:The hotel has really nice grounds and swimming pool; great rooms and the proximity to Greve town square is fantastic; also great to park the car for free!
Review 52:Room was a little noisy, seperated from another room by only a locked door.
Review 53:The grounds and room were absolutely lovely and so close to the centre of town.
Review 54:Tight driveway access - difficult to access when markets on in main piazza
Review 55:Apartment was spacious Relaxing grounds Pizza night!!! Very short walk to main piazza, shops and wine bars
Review 56:Access to wifi in the apartment itself would have been nice.
Review 57:Location is about as central as it gets in Greve - just a few steps from the piazza. Appartment was large and had everything we needed.
Review 58:Loved everything here and the wonderful Piazza in Greve...we hope to come back again!
Review 59:Location was fantastic and roomy sized apartment. Great to be able to make own coffee and tea in own kitchen. Terrific balcony too.
Review 60:Great place, that looks even nicer in reality than on the pictures! And absolutely perfect starting point for the Wine Fair in September.
Review 61:It was a bit could in the rooms.
Review 62:Perfect location in city, nice staff
Review 63:Location to square and surrounding sightseeing
Review 64:Bed was two mattresses pushed together
Review 65:Excellent stay over all
Review 66:Great location very near the town square.
Review 67:No balcony to sit out on and apartment dark
Review 68:Location very central, Rustic charm, nice garden area and excellent wi fi
Review 69:Nice village, supernice apartment with pool just outside, pizza-evening very friendly and nice
Review 70:Drive carefully. Very narrow street on the way to the house.
Review 71:Very kind staff! Excellent location. The place is old, but it's nice. Recommended.
Review 72:Even in May is cold during morning and night but the electric radiator can't turn on :(
Review 73:The beds were too soft for me but the other 3 didn't seem to mind.
Review 74:Fun to be right in the town of Greve.
Review 75:Great staff, gave us a free upgrade since we had children :) awesome location, very well maintained.
Review 76:very Thin Walls , therefore noisy (in The rooms upstairs)
Review 77:Very Friendly hosts
Review 78:Heating wasn't warm enough
Review 79:Location, good staff -Marco was very friendly
Review 80:Amazing place in the heart of Greve! Very friendly staff. The accommodation was wonderful and very comfortable!!
Review 81:peaceful vistas of Greve from atop the hill. staff couldn't have been more accommodating. plenty of parking
Review 82:great location!
Review 83:Enjoyed the quaintness of the rooms, friendliness of staff and other guests. Enjoyed the yard and wine tasting. Location was great.
Review 84:Nothing!
Review 85:Beautiful setting only minutes from restaurants and shops. Monica, Marco and their staff couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely spacious apartment with all necessary facilities. Greve is an ideal place to stay for touring Tuscany. Would definitely stay in Antico Pastificio of returning to Chianti.
Review 86:Very difficult to get car up to location. There is an arch that was difficult to get through, almost took off door handle. But once I got through it the parking area was great. Suggest driving a smaller car next time. Also the sofa bed was awful, the boards under were broke and if you sat on the couch your legs hit the frame. (needs to be replaced)
Review 87:The staff was very helpful (referred us to a local winery) and the location was perfect. (2 min walk to the city square) The terrace area to sit out and have wine was wonderful. The kitchen was stocked and having the refrigerator was great.
Review 88:Spacious room but needed somewhere to sit other than the bed. Washing machines didn't work consistently and took extra coins without refunds.
Review 89:Beautiful garden and good parking.
Review 90:Nothing.
Review 91:Everything. The grounds of the property are gorgeous, and we had a very spacious apartment, complete with fully-equipped kitchen. Quiet and relaxing.
Review 92:WiFi inconsistent and only available in public areas.
Review 93:Michael very helpful on arrival and thereafter. Locals in Greve very friendly and welcoming. A great location to explore Tuscany from.
Review 94:I just have to say that Marco & Monica went out of their way to satisfy Our family of 6 + a 5 month old grandson. The 3 bedroom apt was excellent with private terrace looking over the valley and into the town. We loved our stayed in and would go back again next year. Thanks Marco & Monica for fullfil and for making Our vacation very comfortable.
Review 95:Broken tap in kitchen Uncomfortable bed Unkept promise to turn on heating Poor lighting Poor sound proofing between units Man in house on one way street below arch staring at us for hours and hours every morning
Review 96:Not much
Review 97:A few things were broken, e.g. fridge shelf, shower curtain. No curtains over some of the windows overlooked by nearby properties. The route between the car park and the apartments was either a long way round - down a long gravel track, out of the vehicle gate, back in through the pedestrian gate then down and back up some 15 steps around the building - or across wet and slightly muddy grass. Neither was easy with a 30kg bike box. A more direct paved path would have been good.
Review 98:Helpful staff. Guaranteed car parking. Hidden away but very close to the town centre. Traditional Italian furnishings and decoration.
Review 99:Greve was a lovely location and Antico Pastificio was an excellent place to stay. The Thursday night pizza party was a highlight of our stay in Italy. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short; Sandy, Monica, and Marco were extremely helpful as we revised our plans. Top ratings all around.
Review 100:It was a little bit difficult to reach the house.
Review 101:The apartment was lovely, and furnished in antique italian style. The garden was perfect with the pool, just like the view and the atmosphere.
Review 102:We were unlucky with our room but others great
Review 103:Good location local bus into Florence so no worries about parking and much cheaper good small town atmosphere
Review 104:Nothing to dislike
Review 105:We had a 3 bedroom/3 bathroom apartment with a terrace....a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. Quiet. Location was good, just off the square with restaurants and minimarkets nearby and the supermarket 5 minutes away by foot. Greve was a good central location for driving to Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano, etc. Pool looked inviting but didn't use.
Review 106:We were a senior couple traveling with our 17 year old granddaughter who really enjoyed the pool and common room facilities. We had a two bedroom apartment (Steccaia) that gave us lots of room and allowed lots of privacy. The location is great, with a 2 minute walk to the town square and lots of good restaurants. We spent 4 nights in late June and did not need any air conditioning, even though on a day trip we experienced 100F in Florence! Highly recommend Antico Pastificio!
Review 107:We spent 4 days in a delightful garden apartment. We would recommend Antico Pastificio to anyone looking for a relaxing break. The staff are excellent and really went out of their way to help us make arrangements to get to a wedding nearby. Greve is very pretty too with great restaurants.
Review 108:The ambience, nice and quite, easy to get to from Florence by bus. The villa is self catering to keep the cost down, this was no problem as there is restaurants close by and a supermarket within walking distance...
Review 109:I liked everything about Antico Pastificio and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in beautiful Greve with lovely surroundings.
Review 110:Antico Pastificio is ideally situated with beautiful relaxing gardens and pool. It is right near the shops in the Square of Greve. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and explain all the facilities and amenities as you arrive.
Review 111:Great location very clean with all amenities. Great hosts who helped uswith transport needs and provided great information regarding locl area.Welcoming bottle of wine was much appreciated. Gardens, pool and groundswere beautiful coffee machine also an extra bonus. Wifi great.
Review 112:There is nothing we could find fault with
Review 113:Beautiful location, friendly helpfull staff , ideal village location. loved everything about this charming & relaxing place. Would recommend Atifico Pastificio to anyone.
Review 114:The bed make noises and the stairs to get to mezzanine are a little bit tricky . It is better for 2 people only, not 3.
Review 115:When we arrived, I thought I was in a set film, because it looked so good that didn't like real, I loved it.
Review 116:The attitude of the store/bar owners around the main piazza
Review 117:Marco, the general factotum was terrific. Very friendly and helpful thedirect opposite of the manager. The trattoria Bargo was great. Friendlystaff and good food
Review 118:no change of towels that could not dry due to bad weather not much ventilation in the room since only 1 window could be opened
Review 119:very nice appartments: friendly staff
